President Obama Offers Student Loan Relief

Republicans wont act to do what’s necessary to help Americans, so today, President Obama will use his executive authority to do just that – help students. The White House said the President will announce his plan today, a plan that will bring relief to students in two specific ways:

First, he will accelerate a measure passed by Congress that reduces the maximum
repayment on student loans from 15 percent of discretionary income annually to
10 percent. The White House wants it to go into effect in 2012, instead of 2014.
In addition, the White House says the remaining debt would be forgiven after 20
years, instead of 25. About 1.6 million borrowers could be
affected.

Second, he will allow borrowers who have a loan from the
Federal Family Education Loan Program and a direct loan from the government to
consolidate them into one loan. The consolidated loan would carry an interest
rate of up to a half percentage point less than before. This could affect 5.8
million more borrowers.

Oakland Police Used Tear Gas On Occupiers

About 75 Occupiers were arrested earlier today as they were kicked out of Frank Ogawa Plaza in Oakland, California because, according to the police, the protesters were  causing “sanitary and public safety concerns.” However, as word of the Oakland’s Police action got around, over 1000 more Oakland occupiers gathered and began marching back to their camps at Frank Ogawa Plaza.

Oakland police, intent on keeping the occupiers from returning to the Plaza, promised to arrest anyone who insisted on returning. As the group continued their march, police took unnecessarily harsh measures. They suffocated the area with tear gas causing the peaceful marchers to abandon their 1st amendment rights and retreat.

Conservatives To Mitt Romney – Stop The Flip Flopping And Take A Stand

There’s a big fight going on in Ohio, and as far as Conservative Republicans are concerned, Mitt Romney is on the wrong side of the issues. That is, todayhe is anyway — because  it seems

Romney is trying to represent both sides of the issue at the same time.

Two very important initiatives are on the ballot for the upcomming election. Issue 2, will allow the people of Ohio to roll back the union busting provisions passed earlier this year by Republican governor John Kasich. If issue 2 passes, the people of Ohio would have essentially repeal Kasich’s decision on limiting collective bargaining in his state. Issue 3, also on the ballot, would allow Ohio to withdraw from any Health Care mandate.

So why are Conservatives even more upset with Mitt Romney today than they were yesterday? Because he went to Ohio and gave a non-answer when asked about his position on the ballot initiatives. His non-answer would allow him to flip flop later on if necessary, and Conservatives were not happy. They expected Romney to say that Jon Kasich’s decision to limit collective bargaining was correct. Instead, all they got was;

“I am not speaking about the particular ballot issues. Those are up to the people of Ohio. But I certainly support the efforts of the governor to reign in the scale of government. I am not terribly familiar with the two ballot initiatives. But I am certainly supportive of the Republican Party’s efforts here.”

Conservatives became confused. This to them, was not a strong stance against the Issue 2 and they collectively denounced Romney, causing his campaigners to later try and patch things up. His campaign spokes person issued the following statement; “Gov. Romney believes that the citizens of states should be able to make decisions about important matters of policy that affect their states on their own.”

That statement was still not good enough to those who wanted Romney to take a position for or against the ballot initiatives. A top conservative group called The Club For Growth made this observation;

“The big problem many conservatives have with Mitt Romney is that he’s taken both sides of nearly every issue important to us. He’s against a flat tax, now he’s for it. He says he’s against ObamaCare, but was for the individual mandate and susbidies that are central to ObamaCare. He thinks that collective bargaining issues should be left for states to decide if he’s Ohio, but he took the opposite position when he was in New Hampshire. This is just another statement in a long line of statements that will raise more doubts about what kind of President Mitt Romney would be in the minds of many Republican primary voters.”

Romney’s true colors are shining through, but what’s upsetting to his conservative base is that they  those colors are subject to change day to day.

Republicans Failed To Act, So President Obama Gives From His Own Pocket

New reports and a book by Eli Saslow shed even more light on the person making the decisions in the White House. President Obama, it’s reported, has dug into his own pocket and is giving to struggling Americans. “It’s not something I should advertise, but it has happened,” the president told Saslow.

In an interview with Eli, President Obama said;

“Some of these letters you read and you say, ‘Gosh, I really want to help this person, and I may not have the tools to help them right now. And then you start thinking about the fact that for every one person that wrote describing their story, there might be another hundred thousand going through the same thing. So there are times when I’m reading the letters and I feel pained that I can’t do more, faster, to make a difference in their lives.”

The Republicans have successfully stopped the policies of this President, policies designed to get Americans back to work, providing them with a sense of security and the ability to provide for their families.

Now that it is known that the President is giving from his own wealth, what will Republicans do? Will they vote on a new bill demanding the President stop writing personal checks to Americans asking for help?

I wouldn’t put it past them. The legislation may already be in the works.

Mitt Romney Weaves A Tangled Web Of Lies And Deceit

Oh Mitt! Why are you so filled with deceit? You criticized Rick Perry in a previous debate for providing “magnets” of “extraordinary government benefits” to undocumented immigrants in this country, but as it turns out, you too Mitty Romney are guilty of doing the very same thing you accused Perry of.

Perry provides the undocumented with education benefits, and you Mr. Romney, provides them with health care.

The Massachusetts healthcare law that then-Gov. Mitt Romney signed in 2006 includes a program known as the Health Safety Net, which allows undocumented immigrants to get needed medical care along with others who lack insurance.

Uninsured, poor immigrants can walk into a health clinic or hospital in the state and get publicly subsidized care at virtually no cost to them, regardless of their immigration status.

The program, widely supported in Massachusetts, drew little attention when Romney signed the trailblazing healthcare law.

What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive!

Herman Cain Does Not Know The Limits Of The Office He Seeks

Herman Cain has, on many occasions, showed an absolute lack of knowledge on how the government works. He knows nothing about the role of the three branches of government, and amazingly, this lack of knowledge is what draws Herman Cain to those who support his run to be the Republican nominee to challenge President Obama in 2012.

In an interview with David Brooks of the Christian Broadcasting Network, Herman Cain said that if a pro-life amendment to the Constitution comes before his desk as president, he will sign it. “That’s all I can do. I will sign it,” he said.

But can he? Alan Colmes makes this observation;

“Cain doesn’t seem to realize that presidents don’t sign constitutional amendments. And his comment that he was basically taken out of context on his varying statements on abortion shows he only wishes to ignore the part where he said families should be able to make their own decisions. It’s Cain, himself, by focusing on only one part of what he said, who is taking himself out of context.”

And with this new level of incompetence, Republicans fall even more in love with Cain’s candidacy.

The Man Who Killed Gaddafi Tells How He Did It – Video

“We grabbed him, I hit him in the face. Some fighters wanted to take him away and that’s when I shot him twice, in the head and in the chest.”

Those are the words of the person claiming to be Gaddafi’s killer. He says his name is Senad el Sadık el Ureybi, and in the video he shows a ring and shirt he claimed belonged to the deceased Libyan leader, as reported by ynetnews.

The Associated Press is also reporting that under pressure from the international committee, the interim leaders of Libya have announced an investigation into Gaddafi’s killing.

Mustafa Abdul-Jalil told a news conference in the eastern city of Benghazi that the National Transitional Council has formed a committee to investigate Thursday’s killing amid conflicting reports of how the dictator who ruled Libya for 42 years died. Government officials have said initial findings suggest Gadhafi was killed in the crossfire as his supporters clashed with revolutionary forces seizing control of his hometown of Sirte.

President Obama And Hillary Clinton On The Rights Of Peaceful Protesters

The following video features President Obama and Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton, speaking about the uprising of the people and their rights to peacefully gather and protest. They speak about the wrongful ways leaders of various countries have tried to suppress the voice of the people.

Although the President and the Secretary of State were talking about the uprisings in Egypt, Libya and  other countries where dictators are being overthrown, the parallels between the people of these nations and the Occupy Wall Street protesters are many.

While Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton demanded that the people of Egypt and Libya be allowed to assemble and  march peacefully in protest without being beaten or put in jail for exercising their human rights, we see the New York Police department viciously trying to stop the Occupy Wall Street movement from exercising their rights to peacefully gather and protest.

Yes, the President and Secretary of State are right. Governments around the world must recognize the rights of their citizens to  protest peacefully without harassment from law officials. This is true for the people for Egypt, it is true for the people of Libya, and it is especially true for the people of these United States – the 99% peacefully marching in New York and all around this country demanding economic fairness.

Jon Stewart To Republicans – What The F*ck Is Wrong With You People?

Stewart was talking about the Republicans reaction to the killing of Libya’s Dictator, Muammar Ghaddafi, and their absolute refusal to acknowledge the Obama Administration’s part in helping to free Libya.

From senior Arizona Republican Representative John McCain thanking France and England, to amateur Florida Representative Marco Rubio, Republicans have acknowledged everyone, except the President or his administration. It is hard to believe that elected leaders of our great nation, cannot put aside the partisan politics and acknowledge America’s role in this historic event.

“Is there no Republican that can be gracious and statesmanlike in this situation?” Stewart asked. “We removed a dictator in six months, losing no American soldiers, spending like a billion dollars instead of a trillion dollars.”

“What the fu*k is wrong with you people?”

Mitt Romney Wants To Sell Your Home To Investors

The Democratic National Committee put out a new ad on Friday, featuring Mitt Romney. I doubt Romney was a willing participant in this video, as some of the things said in the ad were a bit unsettling.

The ad below shows a clip of Mitt Romney expressing his preferred method of handling foreclosures, and the words he spoke would put fear into the hearts of any family who finds themselves in the unfortunate position of losing their home. “Don’t try and stop the foreclosure process,” Romney said. “Let it run its course and hit the bottom, allowing investors to buy their homes, put renters in them, fix the homes, and let it turn around and come back up. The right course is to let markets work. And in order to get markets to work and to help people, the best we can do is to get the economy going.”

In a conference call with reporters, Brad Woodhouse, the communications director for the DNC said;

“To Mitt Romney, houses aren’t places where people raise their families and build lives. They’re investments to make a profit. Mitt Romney is out of touch. He’s out of touch with what’s going on with this country, he’s out of touch with the middle class.”

Out of touch with the middle class correctly describes the millionaire Mitt Romney. He has never had to deal with the misfortune of losing his home, or should I say homes, or should I say mansions. So it is totally natural for him to think of investors over families. Imagine that decision-making in the White House, as Mitt Romney attempts to become the Republican nominee to take on President Obama in 2012.

Teaparty Advise To Businesses – Hurt Obama, Don’t Hire Anyone

And they call themselves “Patriots” HA!

In a message to the business community, the group known as The Teaparty Nation sent out word, advising them to stop hiring new employees.

The reason given in the message is, of course, the Obama Administration. According to the author, President Obama is a “dictator” with a “globalist socialist agenda of redistribution of wealth.” With a reference to the “Occupy” movement, the message tells businesses that there is a class warfare going on against the rich, and offered up the advise that not hiring will end the President’s “ultimate goal of collapsing the U.S economy.”

Resolved that: The Obama administration and the Democrat-controlled Senate, in alliance with a global Progressive socialist movement, have participated in what appears to be a globalist socialist agenda of redistribution of wealth, and the waging of class warfare against our constitutional republic’s heritage of individual rights, free market capitalism, and indeed our Constitution itself, with the ultimate goal of collapsing the U.S. economy and globalizing us into socialism.

Resolved that: President Obama has seized what amount to dictatorial powers to bypass our Congress, and that because the Congress is controlled by a Progressive socialist Senate that will not impeach one of their kind, they have allowed this and yielded what are rightfully congressional powers to this new dictator.

Resolved that: By their agenda and actions, those in our government who swore oaths to protect and defend our Constitution have committed treason against the United States.

Resolved that: The current administration and Democrat majority in the Senate, in conjunction with Progressive socialists from all around the country, especially those from Hollywood and the left leaning news media (Indeed, most of the news media.) have worked in unison to advance an anti-business, an anti-free market, and an anti-capitalist (anti-individual rights and property ownership) agenda.

Resolved that: Our President, the Democrats-Socialists, most of the media, and most of those from Hollywood, have now encouraged and supported “Occupy” demonstrations in our streets, which are now being perpetrated across the globe, and which are being populated by various marxists, socialists and even communists, and are protesting against business, private property ownership and capitalism, something I thought I’d never see in my country, in my lifetime.

I, an American small business owner, part of the class that produces the vast majority of real, wealth producing jobs in this country, hereby resolve that I will not hire a single person until this war against business and my country is stopped.

To summarize: The Teaparty claims that President Obama’s efforts to get 14 million unemployed Americans back to work is his way of  “collapsing the U.S.  economy.”  So to stop him from winning, don’t hire anyone!

Wouldn’t that advice result in speeding up the collapse of the economy?

For President Obama, Another Promise Kept

Bringing the troops home. It was a promise Barack Obama made while campaigning for President, and now, less than three years into his first term, President Obama is keeping yet another promise.

He made it official today by announcing that all American troops remaining in Iraq will be home for the holidays. He thanked them for a job well done and promised them all the benefits they have earned in serving their country.

Of the 39,000 troops in Iraq, about 150, a negligible force, will remain to assist in arms sales, a U.S. official told CNN. The rest will be out of Iraq by December 31.

The president said he was making good on his 2008 campaign pledge to end a war that has divided the nation since it began in 2003 and claimed more than 4,400 American lives.The announcement also came after talks that might have allowed a continued major military presence broke down amid disputes about whether U.S. troops would be immune to prosecution by Iraqi authorities.
