David McAtee Shot and Killed by Police while Protesting George Floyd’s Murder

LOUISVILLE,  Ky. — A city reeling from four straight nights of violent protests woke Monday to learn that the owner of a beloved West End eatery had been shot by police and National Guards troops responding to gunfire, Courier-Journal reports.

David McAtee, known in the Russell neighborhood for his popular barbeque stand outside of Dino’s Food Mart, was killed early Monday morning as Louisville Metro Police and National Guard were trying to break up a “large crowd” in the parking lot of the mart at West Broadway and 26th Street. He was 53.

Gov. Andy Beshear ordered Kentucky State Police to investigate the shooting, which will be a joint effort between the FBI Louisville Field Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District, federal officials said.

Ted Cruz’s Failed Intimidation Tactic on Donald Trump Supporter – Video

What happens when supporters of Donald Trump attend a Ted Cruz event in Indiana? A face to face confrontation between Cruz and said Trump supporter of course, as Ted Cruz tried and failed to intimidate the man.

Protesters started chanting “Do the math” during Cruz’s stop in Marion, Ind., prompting the Texas senator to walk up to to a demonstrator holding a Trump campaign sign.

The man, who refused to give his name to reporters but said he had come from Ohio, interrupted Cruz and repeatedly called him “Lyin’ Ted,” Trump’s favorite nickname for his rival.

“With all respect, Donald Trump is deceiving you, playing you for a chump,” Cruz said.

“Ask yourself two questions: One, why is it that the mainstream media so desperately wants Donald Trump to be the Republican nominee? And why is it John Boehner supports Donald Trump?” Cruz asked, referring to the former GOP Speaker from Ohio.

The men stood just a few feet from each other, and were enveloped in a throng of reporters and Cruz supporters.

Cruz repeatedly attempted to make his pitch while the man interrupted him.

The protester chided Cruz for calling on John Kasich to get out of the presidential race, telling him to take his own advice. The man told Cruz that Trump is certain to win the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the GOP nomination.

“You’ll find out tomorrow,” the man said, “Indiana don’t want you.”

The attacks also got personal at times, with the man jabbing him about rumors of infidelity and panning his Canadian birth. Cruz was also criticized for having ties to Goldman Sachs. Cruz’s wife Heidi worked for the investment bank.

“Where’s your Goldman Sachs jacket? We know your wife works there,” the man said.

Lawsuit Filed Against Donald Trump

They are standing up against the bullying tactics of Donald Trump. Three protesters who say they were harmed at a Donald Trump posse gathering have filed a lawsuit against Trump and his campaign.

The suit was filed Thursday on behalf of three protesters seen being pushed by angry crowd members at a March 1 Louisville rally.

“Each time he said ‘get them out,’ Trump intended for his supporters to use unwanted, harmful physical violence to remove protesters,” the suit reads

Violence at Trump rallies, at least two of which involved audience members sucker punching protesters as they were being led away, have raised questions about whether the Republican front-runner’s speeches and tone are inciting supporters. Trump has denied that he condones violence.

The lawsuit filed Thursday was on behalf of Kashiya Nwanguma, a 21-year-old college student; Molly Shah, a 36-year-old activist; and Henry Brousseau, a 17-year-old high school student.

Fox Apologized For Lying to Their Viewers – Got Slammed by Protester – Video

So a Fox station edited a video of a protest in Washington, claiming the protesters in the video were calling for the death of police officers. Of course, the protesters were saying no such thing, but we are talking about a Fox station here where deceptive practices are customary.

After it was pointed out by Gawker that Fox was once again lying to their audience, the station went on their Facebook page and offered an apology.

“Although last night’s report reflected an honest misunderstanding of what the protesters were saying, we apologize for the error,” the post read.

“We have deleted the story on our webpage and we offered to have Ms. Jones on Fox45 News at 5:00 tonight for a live interview,” it continued.

Yes, Fox thought it was a good idea to invite the subject of their ridicule on the network to talk about their video deception.

In that interview, Jones called out the station several times for misrepresenting her words.

“The interesting part that really gets to me is, where you guys edited it and stopped — like, how could that be a mistake?” she said.

“Once you play that whole thing, you would know that’s not something that’s being said,” she added.

The interviewer apologized several times, and though Jones told the station she was grateful to come on, she also said she now fears for her reputation and her safety. Near the end of the interview she began to cry.

“At the end of the day, people’s lives are on the line,” she said. “Now, even though we’re doing this, I still don’t feel safe because I still feel like the message is out there.”

“What if a crazed-out cop or a crazed-out supporter thinks I’m trying to get cops killed?” she later said, wiping tears from her face.

High School Counselor Threatens to “Personally Shoot” All #ICantBreathe Protesters

On her Facebook post, Mary Kate Blankenburg, the Counselor at the Central Bucks West High School in Pennsylvania, threatened to kill all the protesters who were protesting the death of Eric Garner. Blankenburg wrote to “personally shoot every one of them!”

Her Facebook post has since been deleted, but of course screenshots of it was captured before the deletion occurred. Blankenburg wrote, “If my child cannot get to the Eagles game due to protesters, I will personally SHOOT every one of them. You’ve been warned idiots!!”

Blankenburg has since been suspended and an investigation is on the way. Central Bucks School District Superintendent David Weitzel in a statement said;

“We will take appropriate action once we learn all of the facts. I also notified the District Attorney’s Office on Sunday and we are working with them as they investigate this incident,” he said.

“The content of the post does not in any way reflect the beliefs or values of the Central Bucks School District.”

Judge’s Rule – Ferguson Police Violated the Rights of Protesters in Ferguson

Chief U.S. District Judge Catherine D. Perry who sits on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, dropped a bomb on the Ferguson Police Department today, informing the group that they have violated the constitutional rights of the people of Ferguson MO, and she especially focused on the order by police for the protesters to “keep moving.

“The evidence from plaintiff’s witnesses shows that the police, including those from St. Louis County, told many people who were either peacefully assembling or simply standing on their own that they would be arrested if they did not keep moving,” wrote Perry, who sits on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. “Some law enforcement officers told people that they could stand still for no more than five seconds. Others gave instructions that people were walking too slowly, or that they could not walk back and forth in a small area. Some law enforcement officers did not make people keep moving, others did. Some officers applied the strategy to reporters, others did not. Many officers told people who were standing in small groups on the sidewalks during the daytime hours that they would be arrested if they did not keep moving.”

Perry ruled that individuals who wished to gather “in the wake of Michael Brown’s tragic death have a constitutional right to do so.” She also noted that “they do not have the right to endanger lives of police officers or other citizens.” She said that nothing in her order restricted the ability of police officers to do their jobs.

84 Year Old Accused of Pointing Gun at Anti-Obama Protesters

Police have arrested an 84-year-old man accused of pointing a gun at anti-President Barack Obama protestors.

Roy Smith said he kept the Colt .32 handgun in his car for carjackers. Gwinnett police said he faces three counts of misdemeanor simple assault and pointing a firearm at another.

Protestors Toni Pendley and Marge Moore are part of the Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment movement, a national movement that places signs along interstate overpasses with anti-Obama messages.

The women said they were protesting on the Steve Reynolds Overpass above Interstate 85 on Sept. 28 when a maroon car drove by and a man pointed a gun at them.

“He was looking straight at me,” Pendley told Channel 2 Action News last week.

A passerby also spotted the gun and call 911. He reported the license tag number. Detectives said they used the tag number to track down Smith at his Norcross home.

In a police report, a detective writes Smith wasn’t home at first but his car was parked in the driveway. Using a search warrant, police found the handgun inside the driver’s side door. It matched the description witnesses gave to police.

In the police report, an investigator said Smith stated “he kept the weapon in the vehicle for the carjackers. He stated that he had the gun with him on the day of the incident, but stated that he did not present it to the protestors.” He “stated that everyone was lying on him in an attempt to get him into trouble.”

“Not your typical suspect,” conceded Gwinnett Police Cpl. Ed Ritter.

In the Sheriff’s Department mugshot of Smith, he is shown with a tube running into his nose like one that is typically used for oxygen tanks.

“Doesn’t matter what his age was, he still threatened somebody with that gun and he is being held accountable for it,” Ritter said.

Channel 2’s Tony Thomas stopped by Smith’s home Tuesday, but he wasn’t home. The maroon car was once again parked there.

Smith is free on $1,000 bond.

Colin Powell Is In Favor Of The Occupy Movement

He is probably the smartest Republican alive today, and in a world where crazy people get to be the toast-of-the-town and are selected to run for the Republican party’s nomination for President, one wonders why a man of Colin Powell’s intelligence still calls himself a Republican.

In an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan, Powell spoke favorably of the Occupy Wall Street Movement, a movement other Republicans have gone out of their way to ostracize.

The Occupy Wall Street demonstrations are “as American as apple pie,” former Secretary of State Colin Powell said during a recent interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan. According to Powell, there is plenty of justification for the movement’s outrage, but also some reason for concern over its direction.

Powell began by recalling his upbringing in Harlem and the Bronx at a time when his parents didn’t make much, but were at least able to find stable employment.

“I don’t think either of them ever made more than 50 or 60 dollars a week,” Powell said. “Both my parents worked for as long as I can remember, they always worked, they always had work.”

But this sort of job stability is no longer present, the retired four-star Army general said, a fact that is now serving as a catalyzing force for the Occupy movement.

It is time to leave the Republican Asylum Mr. Powell. Your talents and wisdom cannot be appreciated by a group of people who are willing to bury this country just to make the President fail.

Come on over, there’s plenty of room here.

Oakland Police Used Tear Gas On Occupiers

About 75 Occupiers were arrested earlier today as they were kicked out of Frank Ogawa Plaza in Oakland, California because, according to the police, the protesters were  causing “sanitary and public safety concerns.” However, as word of the Oakland’s Police action got around, over 1000 more Oakland occupiers gathered and began marching back to their camps at Frank Ogawa Plaza.

Oakland police, intent on keeping the occupiers from returning to the Plaza, promised to arrest anyone who insisted on returning. As the group continued their march, police took unnecessarily harsh measures. They suffocated the area with tear gas causing the peaceful marchers to abandon their 1st amendment rights and retreat.
