Republicans Vote Against American Jobs Again – Must Make Obama Fail

Republicans again successfully blocked another portion of President Obama’s jobs bill. The bill that just went down in the Senate had 50 Democrats voting in favor and all Republicans voting against it. It would create or save 400,000 jobs, and put first responders back to work throughout the nation. Republicans stood in unity and voted against Firefighters, Teachers and Police Officers.

And why are these jobs not important to Republicans?

How do you pay for the bill? That’s the question Republicans have hidden behind as their excuse to cut or not support bills that will help Americans. In this case, the jobs bill to put these Americans back to work would cost $30 billion, and Democrats wanted to tax millionaires on income over $1 million to pay for it.

How was this tax going to work?

Democrats were asking Republicans to agree to a tax that equals half of 1 percent. That’s half of 1 percent on income over $1 million, so if a millionaire made $1 million and ten dollars, he or she would be taxed on the $10.00 at .5% or half of 1 percent. Vice President Joe Biden explains it this way;

“Are you going to put 400,000 school teachers back in classrooms, are you going to put 18,000 cops back on the street and 7,000 firefighters back in the firehouses? Or are you going to save people with average incomes of $1 million a one-half of 1 percent increase in tax on every dollar they make over a million?”

The Vice President then advised Americans to pay close attention to how their representatives vote. “So I say to the American people, watch your senator, watch him or her choose.”

In last night’s vote, Americans saw another example of where Republicans stand when it comes to getting this economy back on track. All Senate Republicans decided not to vote for the jobs of school teachers, cops or firefighters. They all voted to make sure this economy continues down the drain, with the hopes that President Obama gets the blame and loses the election in 2012.

Party before Patriotism. That’s the new definition of today’s Republican party!

Bachmann Booed For Disagreeing With Occupy Wall Street

Maybe Michele should stick to her talking points, like “I am going to repeal obamacare,” or “Obama’s family are illegal aliens,” or “I own a small business, I know how to create jobs.” The Republican presidential hopeful went to San Francisco for a discussion with some supporters, but got booed when she veered off track.

Bachmann spoke about a variety of issues, drawing applause from the audience when she suggested disbanding the Department of Education and vowed to repeal No Child Left Behind.

But the crowd began to boo when the subject turned to the recent Occupy Wall Street protests.

Calling the activity “tremendously counterproductive,” the Republican presidential hopeful noted with disgust a recent poll that stated 98 percent of Occupy Wall Street protesters believed in civil disobedience. When moderator Dan Ashley mentioned that the original Tea Party — a group that Bachmann is affiliated with — encouraged civil disobedience, Bachmann replied, “At least the Tea Party picks up their own trash.”

So does the Occupy movement Bachmann, and we’re trying to start with the trash in Congress.

Herman Cain – The Woman Should Have The Right To Choose Abortions

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain believes that life begins at conception. He is totally against abortions, no matter how the pregnancy happened. It could be rape or incest, it doesn’t matter. Herman Cain believes that abortion should never, ever be allowed.

Well, except if its his daughter or granddaughter who gets raped, then he believes the decision to get an abortion has to be made by the family and rape victim, and if she decides to get an abortion, well… so be it! That’s her decision.

In an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan, Cain said, “I believe that life begins at conception. And abortion under no circumstances.” But when Morgan asked if it were his daughter who had gotten raped, Cain changed his no-abortion stance.

So what I’m saying is it ultimately gets down to a choice that family or that mother has to make.

Not me as president, not some politician, not a bureaucrat. It gets down to that family. And whatever they decide, they decide. I shouldn’t have to tell them what decision to make for such a sensitive issue.

Herman Cain just justified the beliefs of pro-choice groups like Planned Parenthood and National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL). But don’t just take my word on it, even Rick Santorum, another Republican candidate for president, who believes that a rape or incest victim must, not should, but must have the child, says;

“Herman Cain said that he believes life begins at conception, but that it’s up to the individual to decide whether or not to terminate that life, and I find it gravely troubling that Herman believes it’s a life, but that he doesn’t consider it a life worth fighting for.”

“You cannot be both personally against abortion while condoning it – you can’t have it both ways. We must defend the defenseless, period!”

President Obama On Death Of Muammar Qaddafi – Video

———————————————-

When President Obama announced his plan to protect the people of Libya from the onslaught of violence that Muammar Qaddafi promised, Republicans began crying foul. How dear the President of the United States even think of wanting to protect the lives of innocent people.

Well after a few months, and zero American troops killed, Muammar Qaddafi is dead. His reign on the Libyan people lasted 40 years, but today, video of his dead body was broadcast today for the world to see. After the reports of his death were confirmed, President Obama made the following statement from the Rose Garden.

2:07 P.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT: Good afternoon, everybody. Today, the government of Libya announced the death of Muammar Qaddafi. This marks the end of a long and painful chapter for the people of Libya, who now have the opportunity to determine their own destiny in a new and democratic Libya.

For four decades, the Qaddafi regime ruled the Libyan people with an iron fist. Basic human rights were denied. Innocent civilians were detained, beaten and killed. And Libya’s wealth was squandered. The enormous potential of the Libyan people was held back, and terror was used as a political weapon.

Today, we can definitively say that the Qaddafi regime has come to an end. The last major regime strongholds have fallen. The new government is consolidating the control over the country. And one of the world’s longest-serving dictators is no more.

One year ago, the notion of a free Libya seemed impossible. But then the Libyan people rose up and demanded their rights. And when Qaddafi and his forces started going city to city, town by town, to brutalize men, women and children, the world refused to stand idly by.

Faced with the potential of mass atrocities — and a call for help from the Libyan people — the United States and our friends and allies stopped Qaddafi’s forces in their tracks. A coalition that included the United States, NATO and Arab nations persevered through the summer to protect Libyan civilians. And meanwhile, the courageous Libyan people fought for their own future and broke the back of the regime.

So this is a momentous day in the history of Libya. The dark shadow of tyranny has been lifted. And with this enormous promise, the Libyan people now have a great responsibility — to build an inclusive and tolerant and democratic Libya that stands as the ultimate rebuke to Qaddafi’s dictatorship. We look forward to the announcement of the country’s liberation, the quick formation of an interim government, and a stable transition to Libya’s first free and fair elections. And we call on our Libyan friends to continue to work with the international community to secure dangerous materials, and to respect the human rights of all Libyans –- including those who have been detained.

We’re under no illusions — Libya will travel a long and winding road to full democracy. There will be difficult days ahead. But the United States, together with the international community, is committed to the Libyan people. You have won your revolution. And now, we will be a partner as you forge a future that provides dignity, freedom and opportunity.

For the region, today’s events prove once more that the rule of an iron fist inevitably comes to an end. Across the Arab world, citizens have stood up to claim their rights. Youth are delivering a powerful rebuke to dictatorship. And those leaders who try to deny their human dignity will not succeed.

For us here in the United States, we are reminded today of all those Americans that we lost at the hands of Qaddafi’s terror. Their families and friends are in our thoughts and in our prayers. We recall their bright smiles, their extraordinary lives, and their tragic deaths. We know that nothing can close the wound of their loss, but we stand together as one nation by their side.

For nearly eight months, many Americans have provided extraordinary service in support of our efforts to protect the Libyan people, and to provide them with a chance to determine their own destiny. Our skilled diplomats have helped to lead an unprecedented global response. Our brave pilots have flown in Libya’s skies, our sailors have provided support off Libya’s shores, and our leadership at NATO has helped guide our coalition. Without putting a single U.S. service member on the ground, we achieved our objectives, and our NATO mission will soon come to an end.

This comes at a time when we see the strength of American leadership across the world. We’ve taken out al Qaeda leaders, and we’ve put them on the path to defeat. We’re winding down the war in Iraq and have begun a transition in Afghanistan. And now, working in Libya with friends and allies, we’ve demonstrated what collective action can achieve in the 21st century.

Of course, above all, today belongs to the people of Libya. This is a moment for them to remember all those who suffered and were lost under Qaddafi, and look forward to the promise of a new day. And I know the American people wish the people of Libya the very best in what will be a challenging but hopeful days, weeks, months and years ahead.

Thank you, very much.

END

Jon Stewart On The Eric Cantor Occupy Wall Street Hypocrisy

Jon Stewart sums it up perfectly when showing the hypocrisy of the entire Republican party, especially that of Eric Cantor. Broadcasting Cantor’s call for the Teaparty to take to the streets in protest, Stewart then compares Cantor’s reaction to that of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Stewart shows different clips of Cantor and other Republican leaders encouraging the Teaparty to march to “take the country back,” but when Occupy Wall Street began doing the same, they were called “mobs” by these same leaders.

Stewart then surmised that Cantor had to be the one kid on the playground who’d always throw the ‘yo mama’ jokes at everyone, you know, playing the dozens. Then as soon as another kid tried to respond, Cantor stops the kid and accuses him of  “dividing the playground.”

Yep, that’s Cantor for you!

Firefighters – Call And Tell Congress To Pass The Jobs Bill

A new ad running in different states are urging Americans to call congress and tell them to support President Obama’s jobs bill. The group responsible for the ad is The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF).

The bill has $35 billion in funding to help pay for staffing at fire and police departments across the country as well as at schools — that includes $1 billion in funding to protect firefighters’ jobs. The IAFF estimates that 15,000 firefighter and paramedic jobs have been lost or are threatened due to lack of funds.

Mitt Romney Is A Gangster – Manhandles Rick Perry

There’s no doubt about it. How else would you explain his actions last night, when in the middle of a heated discussion with Rick Perry – where punches were almost thrown – Romney initiated contact with his rival by putting his hand on Perry’s shoulder? That’s a no-no. People have died doing stuff like that. In the middle of an argument, you just don’t touch your opponent.

I know people in Brooklyn who got a good beating just for looking at a rival during an argument.

The issue? Undocumented  immigrants, or as the Republicans like to call them – illegal aliens. Rick Perry and his sinking poll numbers, needed to bring everything he had to the debate. He needed to knock Romney off his pedestal. So what did Perry do? He brought up a story that Rudy Giuliani tried in the last presidential debate. A story about Romney hiring “illegals” to work on his lawn.

Yes, it was a weak attack. When Rudy Giuliani brought it up in the last presidential election, the accusation had more of an effect. People wanted to know what was happening with Romney, the landscaping company he hired and the undocumented workers they sent to cut his lawn. And many people believed Giuliani’s attack caused irreparable damage to Romney, thus contributing to his failed campaign.

But that was 2008 and Romney was ready this time around. As the words began falling from Perry’s mouth, Romney began replying and a shouting match ensued.

“I’m speaking, I’m speaking!” Romney said, as the two yelled back and forth. At this point, Romney did the unthinkable and made contact. “Are you just going to keep talking?” Romney asked Perry, standing  just a couple of feet to his left. “Are you just going to keep talking?”

“Have at it!” Perry replied, obviously upset that Romney had the nerve to touch him.

Romney then dug into Perry again, calling him “testy” because of  his dismal past debates, to which the audience began applauding, signaling their approval of the way Romney manhandled Perry. In my imagination, I could see Romney gesture off stage, then cousin Vinnie appeared heading towards Rick Perry with one goal – to take him out, and I’m not talking a dinner date. But that didn’t happen, at least not in last night’s debate. I cannot guarantee the thought did not cross Romney’s mind though.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, the Gangster was in the house last night, and he is leading the way for the Republican nomination!

Imagine that!

New Prediction – The End Of The World Is This Friday

Yes, Friday, and we’re not talking about the Ice Cube Movies either.

Harold Camping, the Family radio evangelist who wrongfully predicted that May 21st 2011 would be the end of the world, is at it again. This time, Mr. Camping is saying the end will come next Friday, October 21st, 2011.

So what happened on May 21st? Mr. Camping had this explination;

What really happened is that God accomplished exactly what He wanted to happen. That was to warn the whole world that on May 21 God’s salvation program would be finished on that day. For the next five months, except for the elect (the true believers), the whole world is under God’s final judgment.

So according to Camping, if you weren’t saved on or before May 21st, then you have some very serious issues as next Friday approach.

One can only wonder if the Evangelist Camping ever read the book of Mark, Chapter 13, verse 32 – when Jesus’ apostles asked about the end times. Jesus answered, But of that day and that hour knows no man, no, not the angels who are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take you heed, watch and pray: for you know not when the time is.”

No one knows “but the Father.” Does this mean Harold Camping thinks he is “The Father?”

Oh Wow!!!

The Whole World Is Watching – Police Brutality In San Francisco

You thought the New York Police Department was the only one attacking peaceful protesters for… protesting? Think again.

The San Francisco Police Department has successfully added their interpretation of  “excessive police action” to the historic movement that is Occupy Wall Street, with their actions earlier tonight in California.

To chants of  “The whole world is watching!”,  police, apparently irritated with the peaceful crowd and their video cameras, took a page from the NYPD. They began destroying the Occupiers food supply, then later, tossed the protesters around as they made their arrests.

To serve and protect has taken on a whole new meaning, and it doesn’t seem to include the people at Occupy Wall Street.

The video.

Republican Leader Leaves Party Because Of Herman Cain

The Republican party is shedding their loyal members one by one. This time its Lauro Antonio Garza, the Republican leader of Somos Republicans, a Texas Republican group that caters to conservative Hispanics.

Mr. Garza sat back and listened to the recent claims by Herman Cain, that an electric fence along the border states would be the way to keep illegals out of the country. When asked about those irresponsible statements on this week’s Meet The Press, Cain said he was joking. No one in the Republican leadership however, had any problems with Cain’s careless remarks, and this silence from the Republican leadership was the last straw for Mr. Garza.

Below is his letter.

GOP leadership: Beyond Reprehensible

How much distance has been travelled since President George W. Bush left office? To us at Somos Republicans, the answer is, ‘Way too much!’ We fear that for most of the Republican Party, the answer is, ‘Not far enough!!’

Today, we find the Republican Party has strayed from its roots and its founding principals so far that they can no longer be seen. We saw this yesterday, in the glare of broad daylight, when a leading presidential candidate, Herman Cain, not once, but twice, advocated for the murder of innocent people and that was met with cheers! Somos Republicans, America’s largest organization of conservative Hispanics, was alone in its criticism of this loud mouth hateful bigot. He says he was ‘joking.’ Nobody here is laughing! The fact the GOP allows and applauds such outrageous thoughts is beyond reprehensible.

To us, the idea of allegedly ‘Pro-Life’ people shouting for the un-Constitutional use of deadly force is unbelievable. Then, too, we shouldn’t be surprised since Republican leaders have been advocating for the nullification of the American Constitution in states like Arizona, Georgia and now Alabama. When did Republicans, once synonymous with ‘conservative,’ become so liberal as to attack their very own Bill of Rights in the 4th and 14th Amendments?!

Where is Republican leadership? Where has the guiding principal of ‘Morality’ gone?! If the Republican Party cannot or will not rebuke this hateful bigot and others like him who wear the mantle of ‘Republican’ then perhaps the time has come for a rebuke of the Party itself!

Ronald Reagan left the Democrat Party saying they had left him. Perhaps, I shall do the same because the Republican Party has become radical and unreasonable. President Reagan must be tumbling in his grave!

President Obama On The Road Again For The American Jobs Act

The President began another three-day trip on Monday, as he continues his push to put Americans back to work. Mr. Obama will visit cities in both North Carolina and Virginia, telling the American people of his jobs bill that will keep teachers and emergency responders on the job, while providing for infrastructure funds to hire thousands more workers.

In the first vote on the President’s $447 billion jobs bill, Senate Republicans unanimously defeated the legislation. But the President is not giving up the fight. He told the crowd at an airport in Asheville, North Carolina, “We’re going to give members of Congress another chance to step up to the plate and do the right thing. Maybe they just couldn’t understand the whole all at once. So we’re going to break it up into bite-size pieces so they can take a thoughtful approach to this legislation.”

At another stop at a high school in Millers Creek, the President told the crowd of about 2000 supporters, “I need you to give Congress a piece of your mind. Tell them what’s at stake here… There are too many of our fellow Americans hurting and you can’t stand by and do nothing. Now is the time to act.”

Watch the President’s speech below.

The Picture Mitt Romney Doesn’t Want You To See

This cannot be the image the Romney campaign wants the voters to see, so that’s why we’re showing it.

LOL.

Here we find the multi-million dollar Republican presidential candidate, from his time at Bain Capital. Romney is doing what Romney does best, no, not flip-flopping, but basking in the royal favor of his Wall Street buddies. And what could be better than having them stuff your pockets with cold hard cash!

No wonder Wall Street is giddy with excitement over the idea of a Romney presidency
