New Scientific Research Gives Jesus a New Look – PIC

Boy oh boy. Some… no, most people wouldn’t appreciate this new scientific depiction of what Jesus might have looked like when he walked on earth. For most of the world inhabitants, Jesus is a lily-white man with long straight hair. But based on Biblical texts, where he was born and other researched data for that time, Scientists have come up with a more geographically accurate look.

According to the Gospel of Matthew, the Romans who arrested Jesus needed Judas Iscariot’s help to identify him because he looked like his disciples. Jesus is never described in the Bible, nor can scientists use his remains to recreate his appearance using DNA.

However, using contextual clues from the Bible and historical data, Richard Neave, a medical artist retired from The University of Manchester in England, was able to help illustrate what Jesus might have looked like, Popular Mechanics reported.

“It is clear that his features were typical of Galilean Semites of his era,” the report reads.

Neave and his team acquired Semite skulls from the area in and around Jerusalem with cooperation from Israeli archeologists. He then used a computer to give details on the skulls’ structure and how tissue would have sat on top of the bone. Using these data, Neave and his team built a 3D model of the face and cast it in clay.

Though some details like eye color and hair length are impossible to determine, researchers used pre-Biblical illustrations of Jesus to determine that he most likely had dark eyes, and tradition at the time usually dictated that men had short hair. During Jesus’ time, the average man was 5-foot-1 and weighed 110 pounds.

Satanic Members Asked to Sign Away Their Soul to The Devil

They are Satan worshippers, so in a sense that have already signed away their soul to the devil. But what happened in Detroit over the weekend required members to put it on paper.

The organizers of a ceremony to unveil a statue to Satan asked everyone attending the ceremony to sign the contract giving the devil their soul. According to the organizers, the contract was to make sure that secret Christian protesters wouldn’t attend.

“I agree that by signing this document under any name, given or adopted, actual or pseudonymous, I am hereby avowing my soul to Satan (aka Abbadon, aka Lucifer, aka Beelzebub, aka The Antichrist),” the contract read.

“I do so knowing that He (aka The Fallen One, aka The Father of Lies) or any of His representatives may choose to collect my eternal soul at any time, with or without notice. I understand that my signature or mark representing any name, real or made up, upon these papers constitutes a lasting and eternal contract, and that there will be no further negotiations on the matter of my eternal soul.”

What is this world coming to?

What “War on Religion?” Obama Proclaims Today as ‘Religious Freedom Day’

Another common lie Republicans tell is that Barack Obama is engaged in a war on religion. That line of course, is meant to keep the Christian conservatives in line and to foster their continued hate for the president Yet, in spite of that lie, the president just cintinued a long tradition and proclaimed January 16th as Religious Freedom Day.

Below is the full text of the president’s proclamation.

From many faiths and diverse beliefs, Americans are united by the ideals we cherish. Our shared values define who we are as a people and what we stand for as a Nation. With abiding resolve, generations of patriots have fought — through great conflict and fierce debate — to secure and defend these freedoms, irrevocably weaving them deep into the fabric of our society. Today, we celebrate an early milestone in the long history of one of our country’s fundamental liberties.
On January 16, 1786, the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom was adopted. It was one of the first laws in our Nation to codify the right of every person to profess their opinions in matters of faith, and it declares that “no man shall be compelled to frequent or support any” religion. Drafted by Thomas Jefferson and guided through the Virginia legislature by James Madison, this historic legislation served as a model for the religious liberty protections enshrined in our Constitution.

The First Amendment prohibits the Government from establishing religion. It protects the right of every person to practice their faith how they choose, to change their faith, or to practice no faith at all, and to do so free from persecution and fear. This religious freedom allows faith to flourish, and our Union is stronger because a vast array of religious communities coexist peacefully with mutual respect for one another. Since the age of Jefferson and Madison, brave women and men of faith have challenged our conscience; today, our Nation continues to be shaped by people of every religion and of no religion, bringing us closer to our founding ideals. As heirs to this proud legacy of liberty, we must remain vigilant in our efforts to safeguard these freedoms.

We must also continue our work to protect religious freedom around the globe. Throughout the world, millions of individuals are subjected to discrimination, abuse, and sanctioned violence simply for exercising their religion or choosing not to claim a faith. Communities are being driven from their ancient homelands because of who they are or how they pray, and in conflict zones, mass displacement has become all too common.

In the face of these challenges, I am proud the United States continues to stand up for the rights of all people to practice their faiths in peace. Promoting religious freedom has always been a key objective of my Administration’s foreign policy because history shows that nations that uphold the rights of their people — including the freedom of religion — are ultimately more just, more peaceful, and more successful. In every country, individuals should be free to choose and live their faith based upon the persuasion of the mind — and of the heart and soul. Today, let us continue our work to protect this tradition and advance the cause of religious freedom worldwide.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim January 16, 2015, as Religious Freedom Day. I call on all Americans to commemorate this day with events and activities that teach us about this critical foundation of our Nation’s liberty, and that show us how we can protect it for future generations at home and around the world.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this fifteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand fifteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-ninth.

“I Met God, She’s Black”

Things that make you go hmmmmm!

What does God look like?

Renaissance artists painted God into their own cultures, often giving him the white skin and flowing golden hair of a European aristocrat.

But that traditional image has been challenged by many over the centuries. This age-old question is now picking up steam on Facebook, particularly in the light of the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

Dylan Chenfeld, a self-described Jewish atheist, is throwing his ideas into the mix.

“I Met God, She’s Black,” Chenfield says in posters that he’s allegedly pasted all over Manhattan during the past few days.

The 21-year-old doesn’t claim to have invented the phrase, saying the trope has existed for quite some time. He’s just the one who decided to put it on a $30 T-shirt.

In fact, William P. Young, author of The Shack, pictured God as an African American woman named Elouisa. Black feminist Ntozake Shange, in her poem “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enough,” says, “I found God in myself, and I loved her fiercely.”

But what does an Upper West side-raised Jewish guy have to do with all of this?

The slogan has certainly become a source of business for Chenfield. When he initially started printing the shirts about one year ago, he says many of his buyers were white. He’s also gotten celebrities like Drake and Cara Delevingne to be photographed wearing his shirt.

“I like poking fun at sacred cows,” Chenfield told HuffPost. “I’m taking the idea that God is a white male and doing the opposite of that, which is a black woman.”

Pastor Myles Munroe Killed in Plane Crash in The Bahamas

NBC News is reporting that internationally known minister and motivational speaker Myles Munroe, his wife and several other people, were killed when their crashed in the Bahamas on Sunday. Munroe’s ministry confirmed the news Sunday night and the Bahamian aviation ministry also confirmed that there were “some fatalities” among the nine people on board.

Dave Burrows, head of youth ministries for Munroe’s non-denominational Bahamas Faith Ministries International, said at a hastily convened news conference Sunday night that Munroe’s wife, Ruth — also a widely known figure in international evangelical circles — and the ministry’s senior vice president and pastor, Richard Pinder, were among those killed in the crash.

The Department of Civil Aviation said the Learjet 36 crashed at 5:10 p.m. ET while making a landing approach at Grand Bahama International Airport. Burrows said a small number of other people were on board the plane, along with two pilots, none of whom were immediately identified.

Munroe, 60, was an internationally known Christian preacher and motivational speaker. He frequently appeared before mass audiences at Christian events with other widely known preachers, like Bishop T.D. Jakes and Bishop Eddie Long, and he was associated during the early 2000s with the Promise Keepers movement, a Christian ministry focused on strengthening the role of men in Christian life. He wrote or co-wrote more than 100 inspirational and motivational books, many of which were best-sellers in the Caribbean and Africa.

Republican Nut Bryan Fischer – America is a Christian Nation Because we Sell Bacon

Pure Insanity! I have no more words for these folks. If he was really a Christian and this is the argument he wanted to make, am I to believe that Fischer couldn’t come up with something better than bacon? Bacon?!?

Listen to Bryan Fischer as he discussed bacon and Christianity on his radio show.

“You want one single item of proof that America is a Christian nation and not a Jewish nation and not an Islamic nation?” he asked. “One single bit of proof is all you need: we freely allow restaurants and grocery stores to sell and to serve bacon. That can only happen in a Christian country.”

“So the sheer fact that we freely allow the sale and consumption of bacon,” he said, “is absolute proof that we are, in fact, a Christian nation”

I am totally speechless. It is amazing that these people have a following, both Religiously and politically. There are people in this nation genuinely looking for some sort of guidance, but Bacon is all the likes of Bryan Fischer and his conservative media friends can afford. Bacon is all they are able to bring to the table.

Bacon in, Bacon out! That should be the Republicans mantra!

Glenn Beck – It Is “a badge of eternal dishonor” to be an American Citizen – Video

In his program today,  Glenn Beck urged his audience to get passionate about what’s going on in America, before they’re “thrown up against the wall and thrown up against the wall and thrown up against the wall, you might even get a billy club to the head!”

Beck was expressing his passion for Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, a Sudanese woman facing prosecution for refusing Islam and converting to Christianity.

Beck wants the US government to interject into this matter and save the Sudanese woman because she is married to a United States citizen, and he cannot figure out why Barack Obama is not making Meriam’s plight a national security issue or something, because…FREEDOM!

He then declared that America has gone “so dead inside” that it is now becoming “a badge of global and possibly eternal dishonor” to be an American citizen.

Sarah Palin Insists – Baptism and Waterboarding Are Equally The Same

Ever wondered why they say “arguing with a conservative is like playing chess with a pigeon? Here’s a perfect example.

Everyone, from liberals to conservatives, are up in arms over Sarah Palin’s recent NRA speech where she compared religion with Waterboarding. But instead of Palin realizing the folly of her ways and apologizing for her dumb remarks, she went on Facebook and double down on her nonsense.

Heres the rambling from her Facebook Page.

Actions to stop terrorists who’d utterly annihilate America and delight in massacring our innocent children? Darn right I’d do whatever it takes to foil their murderous jihadist plots – including waterboarding. Whatever one thinks of my one-liner at the NRA rally about treating evil terrorists the way they deserve to be treated to prevent the death of innocent people, it’s utterly absurd for MSNBC to suggest that I could put our beloved troops in harm’s way, but we’ve come to expect the absurd from that failing network.

Again Sarah Palin, this is not about keeping America safe. This is about your decision to politicize a religious activity, with something as the immoral as waterboarding.

But then, explaining this to you would be like playing chess with a pigeon.

Pea brain Pastor – ”Obama has released the homo demons on the black man”

I’m wondering how long it took this so-called pastor to come up with this one. A claim without facts is not just an accusation, it is a lie. But that didn’t stop Rev. James David Manning of New York from making his baseless, fact less claim.

In a YouTube video posted on Tuesday, Atlah World Missionary Church Rev. James David Manning said that he had displayed the following sign outside his Harlem church: ”Obama has released the homo demons on the black man. Look out black woman. A white homo may take your man.”

“Obama has released these demons, particularly upon the black males,” he explained. “This homosexual demon, hoping to influence as many black males to subscribe to ideas that homosexual perverted LGBT as possible.”

As evidence, Manning pointed to the “outing” of basketball player Jason Collins and football player Michael Sam.

“I have noticed that Obama is influencing the few black men that are left to come out of the closet — or be homosexual — and they are being scooped up by white homos, leaving the black woman in more dire straits and with less of a choice of a man to come and be her husband, and father her children,” he said.

My Religous Phase

I went through a religious phase when I was 5. I went to a Catholic school. Everyone I knew went to a Catholic school. My family was Catholic and so was every family in our neighborhood. We went to Mass every weekday morning and I went again on Sundays. The Mass was in Latin and I didn’t understand a word but that only made me respect it more. The words were exotic and beautiful to me. We all knelt and sat and stood at the same time during Mass. We all recited the same words in unison. It was written down in our missals. We received communion at Mass which meant we were fed a small white wafer which was supposed to represent the body of Christ. Only I didn’t quite understand the represent part and I believed that the wafer was somehow transformed into a piece of a 2000 year old body. You had Christ inside you six times a week. How cool was that?

I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to be a saint or a nun. I had great romantic ideas about nuns. On the other hand, saints appealed to my imagination. The Christian martyrs were killed by the Romans because they wouldn’t renounce their faith. Some of them were eaten by lions and some of them were roasted alive and some were crucified. Except for the pain part, this also appealed to me mightily. Once you were a saint, you sat at the right hand of God and people prayed to you and you could perform miracles. I thought that it would probably hurt to be roasted alive or eaten by lions. I wasn’t sure it was a good trade off. I wanted to be able to perform miracles, but how much would it hurt to be eaten by a lion? I wasn’t sure. There was always being a nun. No horrific death required. I would be cloistered (shut away from the world) and I would pray all the time and I would be very holy.

I practiced being holy. I went to church and prayed for long stretches of time. The longer you prayed, the better. I asked God for silly things and told him all my troubles and made all kinds of promises to him. I said the rosary. Saying the rosary was basically repeating the Hail Mary sixty times and the Our Father six times. The Catholics are big on repetition.

You were supposed to contemplate the stations of the cross in those days and I spent a lot of time doing that. The stations of the cross, for the uninitiated, are depictions of Christ’s journey up the hill as he carried the cross on his way to be crucified. They are especially gory and sadomasochistic. The blood running down his face from the crown of thorns and his bloody back from the lashes. The nails pounded through his hands and feet. How does a five year old meditate on torture? Well I felt very very sorry for him. Poor Jesus, I thought. We must have done something very bad if he had to do all that to make up for it. I wanted to be the lady who gave him a drink of water. I wanted to be the lady who wiped his brow or the lady who cried at his feet.

One day I was praying all by myself in the church and I looked at that little gold container on the altar where we were told Christ was. It seemed to me Jesus must be very lonely in that little gold box, even if it was very pretty. I climbed over the railing (which you weren’t supposed to do) and I climbed up on the altar (which you weren’t supposed to do) and I sat next to the little gold box and I swung my legs and talked to Jesus. I told him everything that was on my five year old mind. I told him I loved him and I would always be his friend. I told him I wanted to be holy. I told him I was either going to be a nun or a saint and either way I’d be a virgin because nuns and saints are always virgins. I wasn’t sure what a virgin was but if that’s what Jesus wanted me to be, then I was going to be it.

My homeroom teacher Miss Staid came in and saw me and she nearly had a heart attack.

Americans Are So Easily Fooled, Or Intentionally Foolish

Thanks to a certain “news” station, President Obama’s Faith is still a puzzle to many Americans… or maybe they prefer to keep it a puzzle.  Although there are well documented examples of the President’s Christian belief, there are still people out there who think Mr. Obama as a Muslim and others claim they simply do not know what his religion is.

We will chalk up this dumbing down of Americans to the good ole boys over at Fox News. With News stations like Fox, who needs a propaganda machine?

Forty-nine percent of voters identify President Obama as a Christian, a new poll says, and the others say that they don’t know or that he is a Muslim.

“Nearly four years into his presidency the view that Barack Obama is Muslim persists,” says the survey from the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life.

According to the poll on religion and politics, 17% say Obama is a Muslim, while 31% say they do not know his religion.

“Fewer say Obama is Christian — and more say he is Muslim — than did so in October 2008, near the end of the last presidential campaign,” Pew reported. “The increase since 2008 is particularly concentrated among conservative Republicans, about a third of whom (34%) describe the president as a Muslim.”
