New York Police Promise Lawsuits Against Occupiers

The protesters at Occupy Wall Street get their First Amendment rights violated on a regular basis. They’re rounded-up, thrown to the ground, punched and pepper sprayed like animals by the police.  Yet today, the New York Police Department is planning to sue any protester who “causes injury” to a police officer.

Reporting from the New York Post today quoted the president of NYPD’s Sergeant’s Benevolent Association as saying;

“In light of the growing violence attendant to the ‘Occupy’ movements across the country, particularly as evidenced by the recent events in Oakland, I am compelled to place these so-called ‘occupiers’ on notice that physical assaults on police officers will not be tolerated.”

Of course no one is advocating violence at any of the Occupy movement protests, and all the police departments across the country know this. Of all the thousands of protesters nationwide, it is almost impossible to find Occupiers demonstrating violence against the police. There may be a handful of incidents, but in the grand scheme of things, given the many thousands of protesters on the streets, two or three incidents nationwide is nothing to sue over.

So is this a plausible  argument by the New York Sergeant Benevolent Association? Of course not.

The unnecessary amount of arrests police departments nationwide have taken part in, have nothing to do with unruly protesters, but everything to do with police trying to suppress the people’s rights to protest. If the police will just do their jobs, instead of intentionally perpetrating violence against peaceful protesters, then for the most part, calmness will prevail.

Maybe the New York Sergeant Benevolent Association should look at the instigators instead, and realize that the violence begins, for the most part, inside their own ranks.

Thought Herman Cain’s Ads Couldn’t Get Any Crazier…

Think again!

I’m really beginning to understand the Republican’s game plan, and a fantastic one it is. Their plan is to get Mitt Romney to the nomination, and the only way they think that could be achieved, would be to bombard the media with nonsense. Herman Cain, and his entire so-called candidacy is the guinea pig. Get the media to focus all their attention on the joke that is Herman Cain, and let Mitt Romney skate untouched to the Republican nomination convention.

How else would you explain these foolish ads from the Cain campaign. Yesterday, we showed you an ad that is now viral, as the world laughs at the spectacle of what is now the American political system. In the ad, Herman Cain’s chief of staff Mark Block literally and figuratively blows smoke in our face. We can only wonder if Marlboro paid for the spot.

And now this. Another ad by the so-called Cain campaign called, “He Carried Yellow Flowers,” a western style commercial featuring movie star Nick Searcy. The ad starts out showing a man riding a horse, with the following words being displayed on the screen;

There was a time in America when a man was a man. And a horse was just a horse …  And a man on a horse was just a man on a horse … unless he carried yellow flowers.”

After smacking a black man identified as a liberal in the face, the flower carrying Nick Searcy steps out of character – or steps into character, take your pick – to advise all of us, why we should vote for Herman Cain.

We see you Romney, keep skating…

President Obama’s Appearance on Jay Leno – Video

We’re pretty sure no one missed President Obama’s appearance on Jay Leno, but just in case you were involved in, let’s an Occupy movement somewhere, here’s the video.

The President spoke about the death of Gaddafi and Bin Laden, he spoke about the conflict in Libya and the fact that America actually led from the front, instead of “leading from the back” as Republicans and media keep trumpeting, and the President also spoke about the Republicans and their so-called Presidential candidates, among other things.

Watch the videos below.

Republicans Cut Education Funding To Pay Corporate Big Wigs

As if the Republicans couldn’t stoop any lower, we introduce you to those in Lansing Michigan. These Republicans want to cut $1 billion from local schools to pay for a $1.8 billion tax break for rich CEOs and corporate special interests.

Although this is as disgraceful as one could imagine, this action by these Republicans is not surprising. Cutting back on educating the youth of tomorrow is a sure way to win the race to the bottom, a race these Republicans are determined to win… for America! An uneducated and uninformed electorate can be easily led, and this is what today’s Republicans are banking on.

So onward with cutting education funding. Today’s uninformed will be tomorrow’s Republican voter.

Rick Perry Drops The Birthers. Now Embraces Call For Obama’s Transcript

Rick Perry is in a bad position with the voters. He came into the race for the Republican nomination a few months ago leading the field, but has seen his lead evaporate every time he opens his mouth. In an effort to boost his brand with the far right-wing of his party, Perry embraced the birthers movement, which questions whether President Obama was born in America.

Pay no attention to the birth certificates the President already provided debunking these nut-jobs and their conspiracy theories.

Needless to say, Perry is now looked upon as an absolute joke among thinking Americans, so he’s decided to drop the birthers and is looking for acceptance of another group – those who believe that President Obama got into Columbia and then  Harvard because of affirmative action. He simply could not have been accepted on his own merit.

In another interview, with  Adam Smith of the St. Petersburg Times, Perry discarded the birthers and has now embraced another of Trump’s baseless claims, now centered around Obama’s education;

Adam: Jeb Bush said the other day, the Republican candidates should categorically reject the notion that Barack Obama was not born in America. This came after you expressed doubts about that… what would you say to him?

Perry: “I don’t think I was expressing doubts. I was just having some fun with Donald Trump. So I…

Adam: Are you comfortable that he’s an American citizen?

Perry: “Oh yeah. It’s fun to… ya know lighten up a little bit.. ”

Adam: So you have no doubt he’s an American citizen?

Perry: “I have no doubt about it. But here’s the more interesting thing. Let’s lay out our income taxes. Let’s lay our our college transcripts. Mine’s been on the front page of the paper. So if we’re going to lay out all these things, let’s lay them all out. So, whether it’s college transcripts or income tax, lay them all out. Let the people take a look at them.”

Tune in next week, to see Perry jump on the “deathers” bandwagon – those asking to see the dead body of Osama Bil Laden as the only proof that the President was able to get America’s number one villain!

Steve Jobs Called Fox News A “Destructive Force In Our Society”

The man behind the success of Apple,  called Rubert Murdoch’s Fox News a “destructive force in our society.” Mr. Jobs then scolded Rupert, telling him that destruction will be his legacy if he doesn’t change the direction of the network.

The information was written in Walter Isaacson’s new book, and mentions Jobs remarks to Murdoch after a News Corp. retreat;

“You’re blowing it with Fox News,” Jobs told him over dinner. “The axis today is not liberal and conservative, the axis is constructive-destructive, and you’ve cast your lot with the destructive people. Fox has become an incredibly destructive force in our society. You can be better, and this is going to be your legacy if you’re not careful.” Jobs said he thought Murdoch did not really like how far Fox had gone. “Rupert’s a builder, not a tearer-downer,” he said. “I’ve had some meetings with James, and I think he agrees with me. I can just tell.”

Murdoch later said he was used to people like Jobs complaining about Fox. “He’s got sort of a left-wing view on this,” he said.

Apparently, Jobs’ words of wisdom to the owner of Fox News just went in one ear and out the other. Maybe the destruction of our society is their goal. It’s hard to think otherwise when you look at their willful attempt to mislead their audience.

President Obama Offers Student Loan Relief

Republicans wont act to do what’s necessary to help Americans, so today, President Obama will use his executive authority to do just that – help students. The White House said the President will announce his plan today, a plan that will bring relief to students in two specific ways:

First, he will accelerate a measure passed by Congress that reduces the maximum
repayment on student loans from 15 percent of discretionary income annually to
10 percent. The White House wants it to go into effect in 2012, instead of 2014.
In addition, the White House says the remaining debt would be forgiven after 20
years, instead of 25. About 1.6 million borrowers could be
affected.

Second, he will allow borrowers who have a loan from the
Federal Family Education Loan Program and a direct loan from the government to
consolidate them into one loan. The consolidated loan would carry an interest
rate of up to a half percentage point less than before. This could affect 5.8
million more borrowers.

Oakland Police Used Tear Gas On Occupiers

About 75 Occupiers were arrested earlier today as they were kicked out of Frank Ogawa Plaza in Oakland, California because, according to the police, the protesters were  causing “sanitary and public safety concerns.” However, as word of the Oakland’s Police action got around, over 1000 more Oakland occupiers gathered and began marching back to their camps at Frank Ogawa Plaza.

Oakland police, intent on keeping the occupiers from returning to the Plaza, promised to arrest anyone who insisted on returning. As the group continued their march, police took unnecessarily harsh measures. They suffocated the area with tear gas causing the peaceful marchers to abandon their 1st amendment rights and retreat.

For All You Herman Cain Naysayers…

For those of you who think Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has no official campaigning platform or staff for that matter and that he’s running for President in 2012 purely for the fame and fortune such notoriety will bring him…think again.

With the assist of his  own campaign strategist and chief of staff,  Mark Block, Cain has concocted this creeeeeepy video in which a smarmy faced Block rants on about Cain’s  electability points ( also giving viewers a great view of his smoked stained teeth – now that’s a real American, y’know, like the Marlboro Man!)  And after the usual rhetoric of  …”we can take this country back!”, the camera then pans in close to  Mr. Block’s face where he takes a drag from a cigarette and blows a puff of smoke into the camera. The real clenceher  is at the end when the Man Of The Hour assures us with that knowing look and enigmatic smile, that he’s Herman Cain, and he approves of this message.

Conservatives To Mitt Romney – Stop The Flip Flopping And Take A Stand

There’s a big fight going on in Ohio, and as far as Conservative Republicans are concerned, Mitt Romney is on the wrong side of the issues. That is, todayhe is anyway — because  it seems

Romney is trying to represent both sides of the issue at the same time.

Two very important initiatives are on the ballot for the upcomming election. Issue 2, will allow the people of Ohio to roll back the union busting provisions passed earlier this year by Republican governor John Kasich. If issue 2 passes, the people of Ohio would have essentially repeal Kasich’s decision on limiting collective bargaining in his state. Issue 3, also on the ballot, would allow Ohio to withdraw from any Health Care mandate.

So why are Conservatives even more upset with Mitt Romney today than they were yesterday? Because he went to Ohio and gave a non-answer when asked about his position on the ballot initiatives. His non-answer would allow him to flip flop later on if necessary, and Conservatives were not happy. They expected Romney to say that Jon Kasich’s decision to limit collective bargaining was correct. Instead, all they got was;

“I am not speaking about the particular ballot issues. Those are up to the people of Ohio. But I certainly support the efforts of the governor to reign in the scale of government. I am not terribly familiar with the two ballot initiatives. But I am certainly supportive of the Republican Party’s efforts here.”

Conservatives became confused. This to them, was not a strong stance against the Issue 2 and they collectively denounced Romney, causing his campaigners to later try and patch things up. His campaign spokes person issued the following statement; “Gov. Romney believes that the citizens of states should be able to make decisions about important matters of policy that affect their states on their own.”

That statement was still not good enough to those who wanted Romney to take a position for or against the ballot initiatives. A top conservative group called The Club For Growth made this observation;

“The big problem many conservatives have with Mitt Romney is that he’s taken both sides of nearly every issue important to us. He’s against a flat tax, now he’s for it. He says he’s against ObamaCare, but was for the individual mandate and susbidies that are central to ObamaCare. He thinks that collective bargaining issues should be left for states to decide if he’s Ohio, but he took the opposite position when he was in New Hampshire. This is just another statement in a long line of statements that will raise more doubts about what kind of President Mitt Romney would be in the minds of many Republican primary voters.”

Romney’s true colors are shining through, but what’s upsetting to his conservative base is that they  those colors are subject to change day to day.

Republicans Failed To Act, So President Obama Gives From His Own Pocket

New reports and a book by Eli Saslow shed even more light on the person making the decisions in the White House. President Obama, it’s reported, has dug into his own pocket and is giving to struggling Americans. “It’s not something I should advertise, but it has happened,” the president told Saslow.

In an interview with Eli, President Obama said;

“Some of these letters you read and you say, ‘Gosh, I really want to help this person, and I may not have the tools to help them right now. And then you start thinking about the fact that for every one person that wrote describing their story, there might be another hundred thousand going through the same thing. So there are times when I’m reading the letters and I feel pained that I can’t do more, faster, to make a difference in their lives.”

The Republicans have successfully stopped the policies of this President, policies designed to get Americans back to work, providing them with a sense of security and the ability to provide for their families.

Now that it is known that the President is giving from his own wealth, what will Republicans do? Will they vote on a new bill demanding the President stop writing personal checks to Americans asking for help?

I wouldn’t put it past them. The legislation may already be in the works.
