Republican George Will Calls Republican Leadership Cowards

“Republican leaders want to bomb Iran, but they’re afraid of Rush Limbaugh.” So says George Will… a Republican, who said that the Republican leadership dropped the ball with their non-response to the Rush Limbaugh debacle. Mr. Will called their non-response “depressing.”

So good (and true), we had to post the video. Here is the very well-respected Republican, George Will.

Rush Limbaugh Does The Unthinkable – He Apologize To Ms Fluke

For the past few days, the untouchable, invincible Rush Limbaugh took to the airwaves and criticized a private citizen for doing her duty as an American. Limbaugh chose to walk the only path he knows and called this private citizen some of the most despicable and deplorable names his puny little mind could think of, then sat back and watched as a national outcry began. Even President Obama placed a telephone call to the victim of Rush’s venom, offering her some words of encouragement.

But that was all fine with Rush Limbaugh. This is what he does – go on the air, and say some of the most reprehensible things ever heard on the national airwaves. He has used his program to attack blacks, Muslims, Women, Latinos and yes, Democrats. So when President Obama got involved and made his phone call to Susan Fluke, Rush Limbaugh knew that his plan to get as much publicity as possible, was coming together just as he planned.

But this time something was different. The Blogosphere and the Twitter machine came alive and calls for the end of Limbaugh’s radio career rang long and loud. And tweets and messages to sponsors and advertisers on Limbaugh’s show were too numerous to count. Then the advertisers began pulling their ads from Rush’s show and this, this was when Mr. Limbaugh did a double take.

One sponsor, two sponsor, three sponsor, four… Limbaugh imagined the worst and saw his $400 million contract evaporating before his very eyes. He couldn’t allow it, he wouldn’t. He decided to do what he never thought he’d do in all his 20 years as a radio entertainer – he decided to go against the pomposity his show is known for –  he apologized… to a woman!

For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week.  In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.

…My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.

On the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday editions of his talk show, Mr. Limbaugh loudly criticized Ms. Fluke as sexually promiscuous and politically motivated — “an anti-Catholic plant,” he said at one point.

On Wednesday, he called her a “slut,” and a “prostitute. On Thursday, he said she was “having so much sex, it’s amazing she can still walk.” And on Friday, the Republican spokesman continued his personal attack, saying Miss Fluke was “having sex so frequently that she can’t afford all the birth-control pills that she needs.”

Sandra Fluke May File Lawsuit Against Rush Limbaugh

The Daily News Reports: The Georgetown law student branded a “slut” by Rush Limbaugh may file a lawsuit against the conservative shock jock as he revs up his criticism against the woman who found herself at the center of the contraception coverage debate.

Limbaugh continued to rant on Friday that Sandra Fluke is a “prostitute” who is “having so much sex” she can’t pay for contraceptives as Fluke said she may consider legal action.

“I’ve certainly been told I might have a case,” the third-year student told the Daily Beast. “But it’s not something I’ve made any decisions about at this point.”

Limbaugh’s attack on Fluke began Wednesday after the Washington resident testified in front of Congressional Democrats.

She spoke in favor of President Obama’s health care mandate that would require all employers to cover the cost of contraceptives for women.

Mitt Romney On Rush Limbaugh’s “Slut” Remark – I Would Have Said It Differently

Mitt Romney managed to duck and hide from the media until Friday, when he was put in a position where he had no choice but to answer reporter’s questions about the Rush Limbaugh controversy (the latest one that is…)

Asked what he thought of Limbaugh taking on a private citizen, calling her a “slut” and a “prostitute” because she testified in Washington on the need for contraception to help with women’s health, Romney finally said this;

“I’ll just say this which is it’s not the language I would have used. I’m focusing on the issues I think are significant in the country today and that’s why I’m here talking about jobs and Ohio.”

So to be clear, Romney would have used different words to convey the same message Rush was trying to convey. A couple of responses from Twitter puts it this way;

“Suspicious” Package Sent to Rush Limbaugh’s Home

The New York Daily News Reports: PALM BEACH, Fla. — Authorities say a suspicious package sent to Rush Limbaugh’s South Florida home was not dangerous or hazardous.

Instead, police say the item investigated Thursday turned out to be an electronic plaque sent by a listener of the radio talk show host’s program as a “business opportunity” for him. It concerned the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln by John Wilkes Booth.

A Palm Beach police spokesman said during a news conference the package was delivered late Thursday afternoon. When it was screened by an X-ray device, staff members saw what appeared to be wires and called police. The Palm Beach Post reports that a sheriff’s office bomb squad went to the home to investigate the package.

The sender apologized when investigators contacted him.

Republican Mouthpiece Rush Limbaugh Calls a Georgetown University Law Student a “Slut”

This is what the Republicans have lowered themselves to. One of their leaders, their favorite sons, one of their most admired mouthpiece went on his radio show yesterday and called Susan Fluke “a slut” for wanting contraception as part of her health care coverage.

After an all male panel headed by Republican Darrell Issa denied her the opportunity to speak on women’s health and contraception, Susan Fluke spoke at a meeting organized by Democratic House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi. Miss Fluke message was on the importance of contraception in women’s health care, and referenced one friend in particular who needed contraception to prevent ovarian cysts.

This was too much for Rush Limbaugh, who figured that “Fluke wanted tax payers to pay her to have sex.” This, Rush concluded, made Fluke a “slut” and the tax payers her “pimp.”

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what Republicans would call a valid argument. They are slowly succeeding in dragging this country in the gutters.

Is Rush Limbaugh A Closet Democrat

Joan Walsh states: I’ve decided Rush Limbaugh must be a closeted Democrat. I can’t think of any other reason he would be leading the Republican Party over a political cliff by advising that they double down on the culture wars.

With new poll data showing that President Obama is quickly gaining ground among women voters, at least partly due to Republican extremism on contraception, Limbaugh told his listeners Thursday that the GOP would win the election if it’s decided on culture-war terms.

“Something tells me, that if the upcoming election could be decided on social issues, the Republicans could win that in a landslide, because we are on the right side of the culture war,” he said. “The problem is, we’re scared to death of it. The Republican establishment wants no part of it.”

Rush Limbaugh Mocks Herman Cain’s Victim

Rush Limbaugh is a sick pathetic little man, but that’s not news to anyone. So hearing how he made fun of a woman who just described how she was sexually attacked by Herman Cain, did not surprise me. I actually expected it from Rush.

What is surprising is the fact that Rush Limbaugh is still followed by most Republicans, especially those in Congress. Rush Limbaugh is the voice of these Republicans, and as their voice, Rush used the name of the victim to suggest a sexual act. Her name is Sharon Bialek, but the  Voice of the Republicans said, “It’s Buy-A-Lick, As In [Slurping Sound] Buy-A-Lick.”

Amazing!

Boehner Listens To His Leader – Rush Limbaugh

The American people need jobs and they need them now. So there is literally no better  day to present a massive jobs proposal than on the first day Congress returns from their August vacation. President Obama requested a joint session of Congress to present his plan to create jobs, but Republicans have already decided to play politics with this issue… again!

The day the President is requesting is September 7th, the first day congress returns to work. But September 7th is also the day the Republican presidential misfits come together onstage and hold another debate. The President’s choice to use the first day congress comes back to announce his plan to get Americans working again, pissed off the leader of the Republican party, and he made his disgust known. No, we’re not talking about John Boehner, we’re talking about the conservative radio personality, Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh went on his radio show today, and demanded that Boehner deny the President the opportunity to make a joint address to present his jobs plan. Limbaugh, gasping for breath as he yelled into the microphone, said;

“Why should the Republicans grant the president a joint session of Congress to make a political campaign speech on any date? Why should the Republicans handcuff themselves that way?”

“Speaker Boehner must say no to this request. He can say no to this. It is up to the Speaker of House. The president just can’t say ‘I’m showing up. Put everybody in the audience, I’m coming over to make a speech.’ Boehner can say no to this. He should say no,”

So what’s a Boehner to do when his leader is demanding he stop his President from announcing his jobs plan? Like a good follower, Boehner did what was expected and wrote the President suggesting that the CIA will not be able to effectively do their job in sweeping the Chamber for security threats, and he asked the President to use September 8th instead. Boehner wrote;

“As the Majority Leader announced more than a month ago, the House will not be in session until Wednesday, Sept. 7, with votes at 6:30 that evening. With the significant amount of time, typically more than three hours, that is required to allow for a security sweep of the House Chamber before receiving a President, it is my recommendation that your address be held on the following evening, when we can ensure there will be no parliamentary or logistical impediments that might detract from your remarks.”

We all know that the President’s safety is not a concern for Boehner or his Republican friends. We also know that politics is at play here. If September 7th wasn’t a Republican debate, then this would not be an issue for Rush Limbaugh, and he wouldn’t have any reason to command Boehner to deny the President.

And just for the record, this would be the first time in our history that a President gets denied an opportunity to present a joint address.

Republicans – Flushing The Economy Down The Drain For Political Gain

“Do they simply want the economy to go down the drain to further their political gain? They seem to be against anything that may create jobs, because they view a weak economy as key to their political chances in 2012.

“It’s an uncomfortable question, to be sure. Are they trying to undermine the economy on purpose, for political gain? Harry Truman had a do-nothing Congress. The Republicans seem to be trying to make this a do-nothing-on-the-economy Congress.”

Better late than never. Finally, Senator Chuck Schumer and other Congressional Democrats are beginning to believe what the rest of America has known since Rush Limbaugh’s  admission a few weeks after President Obama was sworn in: “I want this president to fail”. And ever since then Congressional Republicans have been on a mission to make sure Rush Limbaugh gets his wish.

The Republican leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell also expressed Limbaugh’s sentiments when in October 2010, he explained what his number one priority was. No, it wasn’t fixing the economy. No, it wasn’t finding ways to put Americans back to work, and if you thought his number one priority was making sure America recovers from this recession, then you’ll be wrong again. McConnell, the Republican’s leader,  said his party’s  number one priority was to make sure President Obama was a one term president. In an interview with the National Journal, this was the exchange with McConnell;

MCCONNELL: We need to be honest with the public. This election is about them, not us. And we need to treat this election as the first step in retaking the government. We need to say to everyone on Election Day, “Those of you who helped make this a good day, you need to go out and help us finish the job.”

NATIONAL JOURNAL: What’s the job?

MCCONNELL: The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.

President Obama was sworn in on January 20th, 2009, and now, a little over 2 years into his presidency, Congressional Democrats are finally seeing the light. Schumer continued;

“If there’s one thing the GOP has stood for throughout their history, it’s free trade. When Senator Baucus unveiled an agreement to proceed, you would have thought Republicans would jump for joy. Instead, Republicans took us down the rabbit hole once again.”

“Are Republicans opposing yet another measure they once supported simply because that measure might be good for the economy?” Schumer asked, also citing GOP opposition to recent measures like a payroll tax cut and to small business development programs.

Pressed by a reporter on whether he really believes the GOP wants to destroy the economy on purpose, Schumer went further than ever before, taking things out of the realm of the hypothetical.

“It’s a thought you don’t want to believe,” Schumer said, “but every day they keep giving us more and more evidence that there’s no choice but to answer Yes.”

With Republicans like this in government, who needs terrorists? We’ve  got our own, and they’re actively working to destroy the very foundation of this country.

Republicans Kick Ass… Their Own. What’s A Newt To Do?

Before he even got started, it seems that the Republican presidential campaign of Newt, the always-talking-never-thinking, Gingrich might be almost over. And the ones pushing on Newt to leave the race are not the expected political enemies in the Democratic party, oh nooo! The Republicans are the ones kicking Newt’s butt.

It all began when Newt appeared on Sunday’s Meet The Press and called the Republican Paul Ryan a radical, and suggested that Ryan’s budget plan will kill Medicare and transfer middle class wealth to the top 1%. Of course, Gingrich was right, but hearing one of their own speak the truth is not something the Republican party is accustomed to. So since Sunday, Mr. Gingrich has been thrown under the bus by Rush Limbaugh, Fox News and the congressional Republican leaders in Washington. Newt’s exact words when asked to describe his feelings about Ryan’s budget plan?

“I don’t think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering. I don’t think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate.”

Appearing on Laura Ingram’s show the following day was the right winged radical himself – Paul Ryan. While explaining his excuse for a budget plan if elected, Ryan was asked to respond to Gingrich’s Meet The Press interview. “With allies like that, who needs the left?” Ryan fired back, and the ass-kicking officially began.

Limbaugh:

“I am not going to justify this. I am not going to explain it. “The attack on Paul Ryan, the support for an individual mandate in healthcare?  Folks, don’t ask me to explain this. There is no explanation! What do you mean, ‘If I don’t explain it, who will?’  There is no explanation for it.

“First off, it cuts Paul Ryan off at the knees. It supports the Obama administration in the lawsuits that 26 states have filed over the mandate. I guess, what?  Back in 1993, Newt supported an individual mandate, everybody should buy insurance. I am as befuddled as anyone else is what I’m telling you.”

And being the Republican leader that he is, the talking points were sent out immediately- Rush is against Newt, so Newt must be wrong. The word spread fast, as other conservative media outlets picked up on Limbaugh’s rantings. The story got out to their audience and they too began their attacks.

At a campaign stop in Iowa, Newt was greeted by one of his republican supporters;

IOWA REPUBLICAN: What you just did to Paul Ryan is unforgivable.

GINGRICH: I didn’t do anything to Paul Ryan.

IOWA REPUBLICAN: Yes, you did. You undercut him … you’re an embarrassment to our party.

GINGRICH: I’m sorry you feel that way.

IOWA REPUBLICAN: Why don’t you get out before you make a bigger fool of yourself?

The pressure was too much for Gringrich, so like any other potential commander-in-chief, like any other potential leader of the free world, like any other man vying for the job to be the most influential person on the face of the earth – the President Of The United States – Newt Gingrich flipped-flopped and tried to tell the nation that the words from his mouth must not be taken seriously. He really didn’t mean what he said and that was his final answer! He tells Greta Van Susteren of Fox News;

So, let me say on the record: any ad which quotes what I said Sunday is a falsehood and because I have said publicly, those words were inaccurate and unfortunate. And I’m prepared to stand up — when I make a mistake and I’m going to on occasion, I want to stand up and share with the American people, that was a mistake, because that way, we can have an honest conversation.

And with his supporters behind him, their shoes up the seat of his pants, Newt offered apologies to Paul Ryan and any other unnecessary GOPers who would give him the time of day.

Nikki Haley, the powerful Republican governor in South Carolina told CNN in a telephone interview just how disappointed she was in Gingrich;

“What he said was absolutely unfortunate. Here you’ve got Representative Ryan trying to bring common sense to this world of insanity, and Newt absolutely cut him off at the knees.

“When you have a conservative fighting for real change, the last thing we need is a presidential candidate cutting him off at the knees.”

Then this -popularl syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer  suggests that Newt pack up and go home, telling Fox that Newt “didn’t have a big chance in the beginning, but now it’s over!”

Video–just a brief look in the life of a flip-flopping Gingrich. This is Newt – The man who wants to be The Commander-in-Chief!

It’s Official! Conservative Media Lies… A Lot!

We’re bringing you a bit of news we’ve already known for some time, but it feels good repeating it again – and again!  So just in case there’s anyone out there who doesn’t already know, this makes it official – one more time!

A new study confirms the following – that liberal reporters and pundits stick to the facts, while the conservatives’ excuse for a reporter/pundit simply make stuff up.

The most interesting conclusion of the report is the confirmation that liberals are accurate more often than conservatives. That may be the result of the inherent slant of factual information that was first identified by fake pundit Stephen Colbert who noted that “reality has a well-known liberal bias.”

The top performer in the study is Paul Krugman of the New York Times. The worst performer is uber-pundit George Will.

I am a little disappointed though, I thought Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh would have definitely tied for last. And let’s not forget a previous study that finds Fox News just makes stuff up.
