A Dying Republican Apologized to Muslims on Behalf of His Party and Donald Trump

Hospitalized and on his death-bed, former Republican senator Bob Bennett issued an apology to Muslims for the overt hatred coming their way from Republicans and the leader of the Republican party, Donald Trump.

Bob Bennet’s son Jim, recalled the final moments of his father’s life.

“So I was standing there with him in the hospital and out of nowhere he asked me, ‘Are there any Muslims in this hospital?'” Jim Bennett told NBC News Wednesday evening.

“I said, ‘Yes, dad, I’m sure there are.'” Jim said of the conversation, which was first reported by the Daily Beast. “And he was very emotional and said, ‘I want to go up to every single one of them and apologize, I want to go up to every single one of them and tell them how grateful I am that they are in this country and apologize on behalf of the Republican Party for Donald Trump.'”

Jim Bennett said that when he later spoke to his mother, Joyce Bennett, about the conversation, she told him that expressing a sense of inclusion for ostracized populations, especially Muslims, had become “something that he was doing quite a lot of in the last months of his life.”

Ferguson Police Chief Apologizes to The People of Ferguson – Video

The Chief of Police for the city of Ferguson MO., apologized to the people of Ferguson today, saying that he was sorry to the family of Mike Brown for, among other things, the length of time Mike Brown’s body was left in the street of Ferguson. And he tried to explain that the reason was to allow the officers time to collect all the evidence in the shooting of the unarmed teenager.

“I’m truly sorry for the loss of your son. I’m also sorry that it took so long to remove Michael from the street,” he said.”Please know that the investigating officers meant no disrespect to the Brown family, to the African-American community or the people (in the neighborhood where Brown was shot). They were simply trying to do their jobs,”

Chief Thomas Jackson, who has received much criticism for how he and the officers of Ferguson handled the shooting and protests in Ferguson, also apologized to the demonstrators who felt that they lost their right to peacefully assemble and protest because of the militant police response.

“The right of the people to peacefully assemble is what the police are here to protect. If anyone who was peacefully exercising that right is upset and angry, I feel responsible and I’m sorry.”

The chief ended the video by once again apologizing to the family of Mike Brown, saying once again that he “was sorry.”

“For any mistakes I’ve made, I take full responsibility. It’s an honor to serve the city of Ferguson and the people who live there. I look forward to working with you in the future to solve our problems, and once again, I deeply apologize to the Brown family.”

Stephen A. Smith Issues Formal Apology for Domestic Abuse Comments

If it wasn’t already so, on Friday, Stephen A. Smith became a household name.

Not because of his days as a professional basketball player, or because of his previous commentary on ESPN, but for the specific comments he made on Friday about domestic abuse.

After numerous failed Twitter attempts to put the matter behind him, Smith used his Monday morning platform at ESPN to issue an apology.

“My words came across it is somehow a woman’s fault. This is not my intent. It was not what I was trying to say. Yet the failure to clearly articulate something different lies squarely on my shoulders. To say what I said was foolish is an understatement. To say I was wrong is obvious. To apologize, to say I’m sorry doesn’t do the proper justice. But I do sincerely apologize.”

And he included his family members in the apology, indicating that they felt some disappointment in his original comments.

“Particularly to the victims of domestic abuse and to my family members and loved ones I’ve disappointed, and who know I know better, you all deserved a better professional and quite frankly a very man sitting on this set in this very chair. My heartfelt apologies to each and every single one of you.”

Will this apology end the uproar? Will Smith be allowed to return to the normal routine of being an ESPN sports commentator?

Watch this space.

Ted Nugent Almost Kinda Apologized For His Remarks About President Obama

Feeling pressure from other Republicans who themselves are running or will run for office, Ted Nugent went on CNN earlier today and offered somewhat of an almost oh by the way apology, not so much to President Obama, but to all the “much better” men out there… namely the Republican men.

“I do apologize–not necessarily to the President–but on behalf of much better men than myself,” he said in an interview with conservative radio host Ben Ferguson, who’s also a CNN political commentator.

Texas attorney general Greg Abbott, the likely GOP gubernatorial nominee this year, came under heavy criticism from Democrats this week for campaigning with Nugent, who’s known for making outlandish comments about the President.

Nugent said he apologizes “for using the streetfighter terminology of ‘subhuman mongrel’ instead of just using more understandable language, such as ‘violator of his own- the Constitution.”

In his apology, Nugent appeared to regret more the fact that his language has been tied to Republican politicians from his state, such as Abbott, Gov. Rick Perry, and Sen. Ted Cruz.

“I apologize for using the term,” he said. “I will try to elevate my vernacular to the level of those great men that I’m learning from in the world of politics.”

While Perry and Cruz both said they found Nugent’s comment inappropriate, they didn’t rule out campaigning with him.

Rush Limbaugh Does The Unthinkable – He Apologize To Ms Fluke

For the past few days, the untouchable, invincible Rush Limbaugh took to the airwaves and criticized a private citizen for doing her duty as an American. Limbaugh chose to walk the only path he knows and called this private citizen some of the most despicable and deplorable names his puny little mind could think of, then sat back and watched as a national outcry began. Even President Obama placed a telephone call to the victim of Rush’s venom, offering her some words of encouragement.

But that was all fine with Rush Limbaugh. This is what he does – go on the air, and say some of the most reprehensible things ever heard on the national airwaves. He has used his program to attack blacks, Muslims, Women, Latinos and yes, Democrats. So when President Obama got involved and made his phone call to Susan Fluke, Rush Limbaugh knew that his plan to get as much publicity as possible, was coming together just as he planned.

But this time something was different. The Blogosphere and the Twitter machine came alive and calls for the end of Limbaugh’s radio career rang long and loud. And tweets and messages to sponsors and advertisers on Limbaugh’s show were too numerous to count. Then the advertisers began pulling their ads from Rush’s show and this, this was when Mr. Limbaugh did a double take.

One sponsor, two sponsor, three sponsor, four… Limbaugh imagined the worst and saw his $400 million contract evaporating before his very eyes. He couldn’t allow it, he wouldn’t. He decided to do what he never thought he’d do in all his 20 years as a radio entertainer – he decided to go against the pomposity his show is known for –  he apologized… to a woman!

For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week.  In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.

…My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.

On the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday editions of his talk show, Mr. Limbaugh loudly criticized Ms. Fluke as sexually promiscuous and politically motivated — “an anti-Catholic plant,” he said at one point.

On Wednesday, he called her a “slut,” and a “prostitute. On Thursday, he said she was “having so much sex, it’s amazing she can still walk.” And on Friday, the Republican spokesman continued his personal attack, saying Miss Fluke was “having sex so frequently that she can’t afford all the birth-control pills that she needs.”

Jimmy Hoffa Is Right, No Apologies Necessary!

The truth hurts, huh?

While introducing President Obama at a rally over the weekend, Teamster’s President Jimmy Hoffa had some choice words for the Teaparty congressmen who stormed their way into Washington in the November 2010 election with one goal in mind – denying the Democratic President any political victory, thus, bringing America to her knees.

And so far, these Teaparty congress members have gotten their wish. For the first time in this nation’s history, America lost its Triple A ratings status, simply because the Republicans, controlled by the Teaparty, failed to do what was in the nation’s best interest and raise the debt ceiling – an act they previously did over 80 times, in both Republican and Democratic administrations.

And in Wisconsin, another of the  Teaparty’s favorite governor has managed to take away the collective bargaining rights of public employees in Wisconsin, a move that many other Republican/Teaparty governors are trying now to do in their own state.

So naturally, middle class Americans are stressed. These hard working Americans are under the crosshairs, and the fingers of the congressional Teaparty members are on the trigger, aiming, waiting for another opportunity to shoot away another program that benefits the unfortunate like Social Security, Medicaid or Medicare. For some, their very existence is on the line and these Americans feel the need to fight back. So who’s best to state their anxiety, than the union president himself, Jimmy Hoffa.

In Detroit, while introducing President Obama, Hoffa said;

“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Hoffa told thousands of workers gathered for the annual Labor Day rally.

“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march… Everybody here’s got a vote…Let’s take these sons of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong.”

Of course, Hoffa was talking about the uncompromising Teaparty members in Congress. But now, the Teaparty and their enablers are enraged. How dare someone open their mouth and state the obvious?!? Their goal was to dismantle all that America stands for without getting any grief from anyone, but now, Hoffa has taken on the mantle and is calling it as it is. They are demanding apologies from Hoffa and from President Obama himself.

Well, to quote a message my editor sent to me this morning, “If Obama apologizes for Jimmy Hoffa, I’ll kick his ass myself!”

Well, maybe not “kick his ass” but still – for once,  if feels good to have someone state the truth. Jimmy, you’re right! Let’s hope this is just the start!

Texas Apologizes To America For Bush And Perry

Well it’s about time.

We have been waiting for this apology since Bush first announced his intentions to run for President. And here we are, 10 years later, with an economy in the ditch because Bush took us into two unpaid wars, instituted trillions in tax cuts for the rich, an exploded deficit and spent hundreds of billions in the dumb medicare part D program. And now, another Texan has decided to follow in Bush’s footsteps.

I guess this apology is better late than never!

Buchanan’s “your boy” Reference Was Not Misunderstood

Less than 24 hours after referring to President Obama as “your boy,” MSNBC’s Pat Buchanan went on Morning Joe, and tried to “clarify” his poor choice of words on Tuesday, when describing Mr. Obama to Rev. Al Sharpton.

“Let me clarify something that happened last night on the Al Sharpton show, a very spirited discussion. I was asked who was the big losers in these battles, and the big winners. And I said one of the big losers, using boxing terminology, was ‘your boy’ and I meant the President of the United States. . . . This was taken – some folks took what I said as some kind of slur – none was meant, none was intended, none was delivered – for the record.

But this is just one occurrence. Buchanan is known for walking the edge with the careless statements he’s made in the past.

When Barack Obama was campaigning for President back in 2008, questions about statements his one time pastor Jeremiah Wright made, dominated the news. Mr. Obama felt it was necessary to answer his critics by delivering a speech about race relations – a conversation about race. Pat Buchanan decided to write a response to Mr. Obama’s speech, where he attempted to make the point that “White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.” Buchanan wrote;

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

… Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants.

Buchanan also bought into the ‘Donald Trump talking point’ that President Obama was too dumb to achieve high levels of education, in some of the most prestigious schools in America. Buchanan stated that affirmative action was responsible for the President’s acceptance into these schools.

And who could forget “The Blacks?” That was how Donald Trump referred to New York’s black population, when he was asked if he worried about getting their vote. Trump answered that he has “a great relationship with the blacks, I’ve always had a great relationship with the blacks.”

Of course, this disparaging reference outraged many of  “the blacks,” in New York and around the country, but Pat Buchanan saw nothing wrong with Trump’s statement. Buchanan went on MSNBC and defended Donald Trump, saying, “I don’t find any malice in what he said in the statement about the black folks.” Buchanan then tried to water down Trump’s statement, by saying if someone referred to the members of his religion by calling them “the Catholics,” he will not be offended.

These are just a small fraction of the many times Buchanan has made race-baiting statements. So today when Mr. Buchanan offered his so-called clarification, is there anyone out there who really believes this one-time presidential candidate was taken out of context? Is there anyone who believes the rest of the world heard his “your boy” reference and everyone collectively and mis-heard or misunderstood the innocent Buchanan?

The odds are highly unlikely. Buchanan is a calculated Republican pundit, a strategist who knows exactly what he wants to say and what message he intends to deliver. When he called the President “your boy,” he wasn’t misunderstood, on the contrary. Those words coming from the mouth of Pat Buchanan only had one meaning, and the rest of America, the world, knew exactly what he meant.

Republican Councilman Texted Underwear Picture Too

A Republican councilman from Kenner New Orléans named Joe Stagni sent an underwear picture of himself using his smartphone. The photo was sent 18 months ago to Annamaria Pizzolato, who was Kenner’s internal auditor at the time.

Following the Anthony Weiner underwear episode earlier this month, Joe Stegni issued the following apology;

“I asked for God’s mercy and forgiveness. I apologized to my wife and family and asked for their forgiveness as well. My actions and bad judgment had nothing to do with my duties and responsibilities as a public official. They were private acts, but I take full responsibility for my irresponsible behavior. This matter has been a painful experience for my family and I pray that everyone will allow our family to continue to heal. I am sorry.”

The photo was found in Kenner computer records, and dated back to Dec. 23, 2009. The text message associated with the photo came from City Councilman Joe Stagni’s phone, and was sent  to internal auditor Annamaria Pizzolato.

According to reports, the text message associated with the picture said, “I’m n trouble – serious conversation wwife.”

Funny way to deal with being in trouble – send an underwear picture of yourself to the other woman, telling her you’re in trouble because your wife may have found out about the affair!

Classic Republican way to handle these issues.

Lawrence O’Donnell – “Orly Taitz Is A Crazy Person” – Video

The crazy woman who started the whole Birther movement, Orly Taitz,  appeared on The Lawrence O’Donnell Show last night. She was given a chance to apologize for the lie she successfully began, convincing almost half of all Republicans into believing that President Obama was born in Kenya, but instead side-stepped the question, creating a showdown between her and  O’donnell. And let me just say that my opinion of her as a crazy person is not mine alone, even O’ Donnell admitted to that fact after the interview abruptly ended, saying

“She’s crazy! I invited a crazy person on the show to see, if a crazy person faced with the thing that the crazy person was trying to get for 2 and a half years, could say something responsive, something new to the document that was released today. Something she’s never seen in her life. And she wants to play with all of her other kids toys, all of her other crazy documents.”

Well Lawrence, why would you expect anything else from a crazy person? She’s crazy for crying out loud!
