Paul Ryan Answers Simple Question with Pointless GOP Talking Points – Video

In his interview on Meet the Press today, Paul Ryan, the new Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives, was asked a very direct question – name one thing you can accomplish over the next 6 months that Americans will be proud of.

Instead of giving what should have been a very simple answer, Paul Ryan spat out the usual Republican talking points, criticizing everything from President Obama to Obamacare to the economy to foreign policy.

“Working families are falling behind,” Ryan said. “The economy is stale… our foreign policy is a disaster.”

What can you do in the next 6 months Ryan, answer the question! If you had any ideas besides maintaining your party’s reputation of saying “NO” to everything, then maybe you’ll tell us about those ideas. Instead, we get blah blah blah blah Obamacare blah blah blah!

Donald Trump Will Drop Out of The Race for President If… – Video

Well look-e-here, look-e-here. Apparently there is a level to which the donald will not stoop, and if he finds himself stooping to that level, well, that’s all folks!

In an interview on NBC’s Meet The Press, the donald explains that if his poll numbers fall too much, then he would definitely probably leave the race.

“I’m not a masochist,” he said to Chuck Todd, “and if I was dropping in the polls where I saw I wasn’t gonna win, why would I continue?”

Trump is still leading in the polls to be the next Republican presidential nominee, but over the last few weeks, his numbers have been on a steady decrease. Let’s wait and see what the next few weeks bring. Will he stay or will he go… only the polls know.

David Gregory Announced His Departure from Meet The Press

David Gregory fell in line today and confirmed what every one already knew, that he was fired from Meet The Press.

On Twitter,  Gregory tweeted that he was leaving the show a humbled man and praised NBC, thanking the network for the opportunity he was given to host Meet The Press.

Gregory’s tweet said 1 of 2, indicating that another part of the tweet would follow. But I share the sentiments of this response to Gregory’s first tweet.

Confirmed – Chuck Todd Will Replace David Gregory on Meet The Press

NBC vehemently denied this story when it came out a few weeks ago, but now there seems to be confirmation that David Gregory is history.

Chuck Todd, the NBC News chief White House correspondent and political director, will replace David Gregory as moderator of “Meet The Press,” network sources confirmed early Thursday afternoon in the wake of a CNN report.

Todd’s promotion, which the network could announce as early as Thursday, is an effort by NBC News to reassert itself as the dominant Sunday show after falling to third place in the ratings under Gregory. The news confirms a previous report from POLITICO’s Mike Allen that Todd was the likely successor to the throne

Benjamin Netanyahu: They’re Responsible For Us Killing Them

In an interview on Meet The Press, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cast blame for the hundreds of deaths in Gaza squarely on the back of Hamas.

According to the prime minister, Hamas is using people to shield their missiles and when Israel attack these missiles, the people get killed instead.

“We use missiles to protect our people, they use people to protect their missiles,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu’s statement reminds me of something Stephen A. Smith said, when he implied that abused women should do all they can not to provoke the beatings they get from their significant other.

Word On The Street – David Gregory Will Be Fired From Meet The Press

Page 6 is reporting that the departure will happen right after the midterm elections in November, and Chuck Todd will be the new host of ‘Meet The Press.’

While NBC News President Deborah Turness has publicly supported the embattled Gregory, there are serious concerns about the losing battle to turn around the show’s sinking ratings.

Viewership is down a whopping 43 percent compared to when Gregory ascended to the moderator’s chair in December 2008, after the death of Tim Russert. The show finished in third place behind CBS’s “Face the Nation” and ABC’s “This Week” in the second quarter of 2014.

An NBC source said, “The discussion is whether to make a change before or after the midterm elections. Just after the midterms would give the new moderator time to settle in.”

According to insiders, NBC political director and chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd is the rightful heir to Gregory, but he has not been officially offered the job.

Colin Powell – “Republicans Have An Identity Problem” And “They Look Down On Minorities.”

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell went on NBC’s Meet The Press today, and a discussion on today’s Republican party ensued.

During the interview, NBC’s David Gregory asked Powell why he continued to consider himself a Republican after supporting President Obama in 2008 and 2012 and taking moderate policy positions. Powell replied;

“I think the Republican Party right now is having an identity problem, and I am still a Republican,” Powell explained. “In recent years, there has been a significant shift to the right and we have seen what that shift has produced: two losing presidential campaigns.”

“When we see that in one more generation that the minorities of America — African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Asian Americans — will be the majority of the country, you can’t go around saying, ‘We don’t want to have a solid immigration policy, we’re going to dismiss the 47 percent, we are going to make it hard for the minorities to vote,’ as they did in the last election.”

“There is also a dark vein of intolerance in some parts of the party. They still sort of look down on minorities. How can I evidence that? When I see [Palin] saying that the president is ‘shucking and jiving,’ that’s a racial-era slave term. When I see [Sununu] after the president’s first debate, where he didn’t do very well, says that the president was ‘lazy’ — he didn’t say he was slow, he was tired, he didn’t do well — he said he was lazy. Now, it may not mean anything to most Americans, but to those of use who are African Americans, the second word is ‘shiftless’ and there’s a third word that goes along with it.”

“Why do senior Republican leaders tolerate this kind of discussion within the party? I think the party has to take a look at itself. It has to take a look at it’s responsibilities for health care, it has to take a look at immigration, it has to take a look at those less fortunate than us.”

You will be welcomed in the Democratic party Mr. Powell. Come on over!

Breaking News: Newt Gingrich Tells The Truth – Republicans Can’t Compete If Hillary Runs in 2016

Yes, it’s unbelievable. Newt Gingrich opened his mouth and something miraculous happened… the truth jumped out.

The amazing revelation happened today on NBC’s Meet The Press. Gingrich was talking about the perils of his party and the prospects of them winning in 2016, when he said this;

“If [the Republicans’] competitor in ’16 is going to be Hillary Clinton, supported by Bill Clinton and presumably, a still relatively popular President Barack Obama, trying to win that will be truly the Super Bowl. And the Republican Party today is incapable of competing at that level.”

But that wasn’t the only truth Gingrich spoke today. He kept his mouth opened long enough and more truths to jumped out. This time, Gingrich explained that the reason his party lost the November election was not only because of Mitt Romney was a loser, but also because his party is a loser’s party that refused to adopt to the changing political climate in America.

Gingrich explains;

“We didn’t blow it because of Mitt Romney, we blew it because of a party which has refused to engage the reality of American life and refused to think through what the average American needs for a better future.”

The suggestion was also made that Gingrich should run again for president in 2016. But if Gingrich continues to tell the truth, the Republican party will quickly show him the door. There’s no room for truth tellers in that party, and Gingrich should know better!

Bill Cosby To Obama Haters – Your Behavior is Un-American

Bill Cosby today on Meet The Press:

“I see Obama as Sisyphus in the first four years, and nobody would speak about the size of the rock, or the elevation of the hill. All you hear people talk about is what he didn’t do.

To come from what he has asked to take over and do in the time, to behave as an American, to put up with those, who were, in my estimation, acting very un-American to get rid of those people, it took longer than patience should allow, but he tried to bring us together, even to argue with radio hosts and people who have nothing to do with anything.

It’s important that this man has had to fight a similar battle of a black person in America. Hundreds of thousands and millions of people still behind him, but people who are very quietly acting like they have no idea what he inherited. It’s as if he had the surplus, when he moved into office, and this is — this is sad. And it’s sad about them. Because they know that they have misbehaved. They know they’ve taken America and slowed down the progress, and there are statements that are very clear in saying as much. I don’t want this man to succeed. Well, why, said the brown fly?”

Herman Cain

Nine Nine Nine Means More More More

Herman Cain finally came to his senses today on Meet The Press and admitted that – yes, his 9 dollars and 99 cents plan would raise taxes on some individuals. “Some people will pay more. But most people will pay less,” Cain told David Gregory, when asked if the middle class would be paying more under his plan.

Herman Cain’s entire pizza and a soda tax plan depends on overhauling the entire Federal tax system. When asked how he planned to get that done in a politically divided Washington, Cain replied that “it can be done.” Gregory asked what was he basing his claims on, to which Cain replied that it’s based upon “the many speeches I’ve given.” He goes on to say that the American people will make it happen.

Yes people, Herman Cain can get anything done in Washington, based on the many speeches he’s given. If it wasn’t for Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry, Herman Cain would be the dumbest person ever to run for President of the United States.

Apparently Cain thinks very little of the American people’s intellect. The dream world he’s living in has convinced him that middle class America would support a plan that would allow the government to dig even deeper into their already empty pockets.

Wake up Cain, you can get more if you dig in the pockets of the Koch brothers. But you wouldn’t do that, would you?

Tim Pawlenty Beats Up On Michele Bachmann…Side-steps Question About Romeny

One of the characteristics that describe Republican 2012 Presidential contender Tim Pawlenty among his fellow Republicans is timid. Some would even call him soft, so it was no surprise when he was given the chance today on Meet The Press to criticize his fellow Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, Pawlenty again side-stepped the question. But when the question turned to Michele Bachmann, Pawlenty didn’t bite his tongue, stating that the female Republican contender don’t have a record to stand on.

When host, David Gregory asked Pawlenty about Mitt Romney’s health care policies, the question was a straight forward one. “Are you saying he [Romney] cannot be the nominee, unelectable as, as the nominee of the party, because of his position on health care?”

Question: Can Romney be the Republican nominee? Is Romney unelectable? The answer should have been simple – yes he can be the nominee, or no, he cannot!

Instead, the softness of Pawlenty went on full display.

GOV. PAWLENTY: I think if you’re going to prosecute the political case against President Obama and one of the top three or four issues is going to be the direction of the country in health care, it’s going to be very difficult for our nominee to be one of the co-conspirators or co- designers of that.

MR. GREGORY: I know that’s the argument. I’m asking you what your conclusion is.

GOV. PAWLENTY: It’s going to be very difficult for him to be successful with that on his record.

MR. GREGORY: In other words, he can’t be the nominee if he’s got this background?

GOV. PAWLENTY: I think as we — it’s going to be difficult for him to beat the president with that on his record. And, you know, his record is beyond just health care. It’s also a question of how did he do on judicial appointments? Where did we stand on bail outs? So all of us are going to have to account for our record. I’ve got a record. Governor Romney’s got a record. All the other candidates have record. I’ve got the best conservative record in the race.

The question was left unanswered.

Then the question turned to the only female in the race so far, Michele Bachmann. Pawlenty was asked what he thought about Bachmann’s candidacy and to distinguish himself from Mrs. Bachmann. Another simple question and amazingly, Pawlenty had a simple answer.

 “I like Congresswoman Bachmann, I’ve campaigned for her, I respect her,” said Pawlenty on the program. “But her record of accomplishment in Congress is nonexistent. It’s nonexistent. And so we’re not looking for folks who, you know, just have speech capabilities, we’re looking for people who can lead a large enterprise in a public setting and drive it to conclusion. I’ve done that, she hasn’t.”

Although I agree with Pawlenty and the facts back up his statement that Michele Bachmann have no accomplishments in Congress, one can only wonder why when the question is asked about a male he chooses not to participate in pointing out that opponent’s deficiencies. But ask about his female opponent, and Pawlenty suddenly had a lot to say.

I actually looked up the meaning of “soft” in the dictionary, and no, Pawlenty’s picture was not there, but it’s still early. Give it some time…!

Republicans Kick Ass… Their Own. What’s A Newt To Do?

Before he even got started, it seems that the Republican presidential campaign of Newt, the always-talking-never-thinking, Gingrich might be almost over. And the ones pushing on Newt to leave the race are not the expected political enemies in the Democratic party, oh nooo! The Republicans are the ones kicking Newt’s butt.

It all began when Newt appeared on Sunday’s Meet The Press and called the Republican Paul Ryan a radical, and suggested that Ryan’s budget plan will kill Medicare and transfer middle class wealth to the top 1%. Of course, Gingrich was right, but hearing one of their own speak the truth is not something the Republican party is accustomed to. So since Sunday, Mr. Gingrich has been thrown under the bus by Rush Limbaugh, Fox News and the congressional Republican leaders in Washington. Newt’s exact words when asked to describe his feelings about Ryan’s budget plan?

“I don’t think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering. I don’t think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate.”

Appearing on Laura Ingram’s show the following day was the right winged radical himself – Paul Ryan. While explaining his excuse for a budget plan if elected, Ryan was asked to respond to Gingrich’s Meet The Press interview. “With allies like that, who needs the left?” Ryan fired back, and the ass-kicking officially began.

Limbaugh:

“I am not going to justify this. I am not going to explain it. “The attack on Paul Ryan, the support for an individual mandate in healthcare?  Folks, don’t ask me to explain this. There is no explanation! What do you mean, ‘If I don’t explain it, who will?’  There is no explanation for it.

“First off, it cuts Paul Ryan off at the knees. It supports the Obama administration in the lawsuits that 26 states have filed over the mandate. I guess, what?  Back in 1993, Newt supported an individual mandate, everybody should buy insurance. I am as befuddled as anyone else is what I’m telling you.”

And being the Republican leader that he is, the talking points were sent out immediately- Rush is against Newt, so Newt must be wrong. The word spread fast, as other conservative media outlets picked up on Limbaugh’s rantings. The story got out to their audience and they too began their attacks.

At a campaign stop in Iowa, Newt was greeted by one of his republican supporters;

IOWA REPUBLICAN: What you just did to Paul Ryan is unforgivable.

GINGRICH: I didn’t do anything to Paul Ryan.

IOWA REPUBLICAN: Yes, you did. You undercut him … you’re an embarrassment to our party.

GINGRICH: I’m sorry you feel that way.

IOWA REPUBLICAN: Why don’t you get out before you make a bigger fool of yourself?

The pressure was too much for Gringrich, so like any other potential commander-in-chief, like any other potential leader of the free world, like any other man vying for the job to be the most influential person on the face of the earth – the President Of The United States – Newt Gingrich flipped-flopped and tried to tell the nation that the words from his mouth must not be taken seriously. He really didn’t mean what he said and that was his final answer! He tells Greta Van Susteren of Fox News;

So, let me say on the record: any ad which quotes what I said Sunday is a falsehood and because I have said publicly, those words were inaccurate and unfortunate. And I’m prepared to stand up — when I make a mistake and I’m going to on occasion, I want to stand up and share with the American people, that was a mistake, because that way, we can have an honest conversation.

And with his supporters behind him, their shoes up the seat of his pants, Newt offered apologies to Paul Ryan and any other unnecessary GOPers who would give him the time of day.

Nikki Haley, the powerful Republican governor in South Carolina told CNN in a telephone interview just how disappointed she was in Gingrich;

“What he said was absolutely unfortunate. Here you’ve got Representative Ryan trying to bring common sense to this world of insanity, and Newt absolutely cut him off at the knees.

“When you have a conservative fighting for real change, the last thing we need is a presidential candidate cutting him off at the knees.”

Then this -popularl syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer  suggests that Newt pack up and go home, telling Fox that Newt “didn’t have a big chance in the beginning, but now it’s over!”

Video–just a brief look in the life of a flip-flopping Gingrich. This is Newt – The man who wants to be The Commander-in-Chief!
