Mitt Romney: 47% Comment Sounded Better In My Head

The 2012 election has long been in the history books, but Mitt Romney still laments some of the things he said in the campaign — like those secretly taped “47%” remarks.

In an interview with CNN airing Thursday, the Republican presidential nominee said he was “very upset” after his comments at a fundraising event about 47% of Americans who are “dependent on the government” and “believe that they are victims” came to light.

“There were a number of times that I said things like that — that didn’t come out right,” Romney told CNN’s Gloria Borger. “Now and then, things don’t come out exactly the way you want them to come out. They don’t sound the way you thought they sounded.”

Romney spent days last fall trying to explain that he wanted to help all Americans, but the damage was done by the taped remarks, which were published by Mother Jones magazine

New Orleans Police Officer Suspended for Trayvon Martin Comment

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans police officer placed on desk duty following a deadly shooting incident was suspended for posting a comment on a local TV station’s website calling Trayvon Martin a thug who deserved to die.

Jason Giroir identified himself as a New Orleans Police Department employee when he posted a comment over the weekend on the WWVTV.com website in response to an article about a rally supporting Martin. He wrote, “Act like a thug die like one!”

Martin, 17, was unarmed when he was fatally shot last month in Sanford, Fla., by a neighborhood watch volunteer.

The Times-Picayune reports that when another commenter called Giroir’s comments racist, Giroir responded: “Eddie come on down to our town with a ‘Hoodie’ and you can join Martin in HELL and talk about your racist stories!:-P”

Mitt Romney On Rush Limbaugh’s “Slut” Remark – I Would Have Said It Differently

Mitt Romney managed to duck and hide from the media until Friday, when he was put in a position where he had no choice but to answer reporter’s questions about the Rush Limbaugh controversy (the latest one that is…)

Asked what he thought of Limbaugh taking on a private citizen, calling her a “slut” and a “prostitute” because she testified in Washington on the need for contraception to help with women’s health, Romney finally said this;

“I’ll just say this which is it’s not the language I would have used. I’m focusing on the issues I think are significant in the country today and that’s why I’m here talking about jobs and Ohio.”

So to be clear, Romney would have used different words to convey the same message Rush was trying to convey. A couple of responses from Twitter puts it this way;
