Donald Trump Offers “Apology” for His Crude Statements About Women – Video

There’s an old Biblical proverb that proved to be true many, many times, and the unbelievable revelation from Donald Trump’s statements about women is no exception. That Biblical proverb says – for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks – Luke 6:45

Donald Trump has a storied history of womanizing and disrespecting members of the opposite sex. So this video of him talking about how he wanted to “fuck” a married woman and how he gets away with grabbing women “by the pussy” because of his fame, came as no surprise to many. But on Friday when the audio from his 2005 convo with Bill went public, there were a lot of shocked people out there, as if they thought better of Donald Trump!

Donald Trump felt the need to offer a statement, something his campaign called “an apology.”

“I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade-old video are one of them. Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am. I said it, I was wrong and I apologize.

No Donald, you say what’s in your heart!

Amazingly, the people who are still pledging their support to Donald Trump are so-called, Christian “ministers.” Pastor Darrell Scott said he doesn’t condone Trump’s comments, but will not condemn Donald Trump for making those comments because he didn’t have the spiritual guidance back in 2005 when Trump made his statements.

Amazing!

A Dying Republican Apologized to Muslims on Behalf of His Party and Donald Trump

Hospitalized and on his death-bed, former Republican senator Bob Bennett issued an apology to Muslims for the overt hatred coming their way from Republicans and the leader of the Republican party, Donald Trump.

Bob Bennet’s son Jim, recalled the final moments of his father’s life.

“So I was standing there with him in the hospital and out of nowhere he asked me, ‘Are there any Muslims in this hospital?'” Jim Bennett told NBC News Wednesday evening.

“I said, ‘Yes, dad, I’m sure there are.'” Jim said of the conversation, which was first reported by the Daily Beast. “And he was very emotional and said, ‘I want to go up to every single one of them and apologize, I want to go up to every single one of them and tell them how grateful I am that they are in this country and apologize on behalf of the Republican Party for Donald Trump.'”

Jim Bennett said that when he later spoke to his mother, Joyce Bennett, about the conversation, she told him that expressing a sense of inclusion for ostracized populations, especially Muslims, had become “something that he was doing quite a lot of in the last months of his life.”

Ted Cruz Apologizes for Being a Total Republican Failure

If Ted Cruz is apologizing for something, then it must be a good day in America.

According to five senators who attended Tuesday’s caucus lunch, Cruz offered the apology in unsolicited remarks, saying that he regretted if any of his colleagues’ schedules were ruined by his maneuvering. He didn’t say whether he would do something similar again, senators said.

And unlike a contentious lunch last year after GOP senators pointedly blamed Cruz for prompting the government shutdown, no sharp words were directed at the Texas freshman at Tuesday’s lunch, according to the attendees. Republicans do not expect Cruz to prevent the Senate from finishing its work promptly this week.

“Yes, the senator acknowledged that a number of his colleagues had to unexpectedly change their weekend plans, and he apologized to them for inconveniencing their personal schedules. That was not his intention,” Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said. “His intention was to secure a vote on President [Barack] Obama’s illegal executive amnesty, and to use every procedural means to do so.”

The comments cap a tumultuous several days for Cruz, who, along with his counterpart, Utah Sen. Mike Lee, suddenly scuttled a bipartisan deal Friday that would have prevented weekend votes in the Senate. After Lee objected to the agreement, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) brought the Senate back into session Saturday and began to advance nearly two dozen of the president’s stalled nominees.

Vice President Joe Biden Issues Apology to Turkish Leader

The Vice President spoke to the leader of the Turkish people on Saturday and apologized for comments he made on Thursday, the White House said.

In a speech on Thursday, the Vice President of the United States said that the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has conceded that Turkey mistakenly helped foreign fighters trying to unseat the Syrian government, foreign fighters like ISIS. Needless to say, the statement did not go over well with the Turks, prompting President Erdogan to say that Biden would become “history to me.”

According to the White House, the Vice President apologized “for any implication” that Turkey or other allies had intentionally supplied or helped in the growth of the Islamic State group or other extremists groups in Syria.

Ferguson Police Chief’s Apology Sparks More Protests and Arrests – Video

One way to look at this is to say, at least the police chief has apologized. Another way to look at it is, what the hell was he thinking, or was he thinking?

There are still a lot of raw emotions in Ferguson two months after police officer Darren Wilson gunned down an innocent, unarmed teenager. The people of Ferguson stood by for hours and watched as the Ferguson police left Mike Brown’s body in the street, their anger growing as the seconds ticked by. And the people watched as the Ferguson police transformed into their war fatigues, employing snipers prepared to kill again if need be, to stop them from exercising their constitutional rights to protest Brown’s murder.

So yes, the people are angry! And an apology from the Police Chief was not going to calm their nerves or soothe their anger. It was not going to reverse the actions of the police. His apology was not going to bring back Mike Brown or get Darren Wilson arrested.

Yes, Darren Wilson is still in hiding, still collecting a paycheck and still being protected by the police. And here comes the Chief of Police with his apology!

I thought it was okay when the chief, Tom Jackson, apologized on video. I listened to the apology and saw the resemblance of a man who possible had feelings, possible understood the pain the community felt. And I, although I’m not directly connected to Ferguson, I accepted his apology. I was okay with it, believing that the man somehow cared. But that apology should have stayed on video. Going out to the streets like the Chief did last night, showed a callous lack of understanding, an insensitivity to the pain still saturating the community. His apology tour in the street of Ferguson made him look like all he was doing was making a selfish attempt to clear his name and take the target off his back.

The people was not having it, and again, for a short while as the Chief tried to pacify the situation with his apology, the riots ensued and we were, once again, reliving the Ferguson protests!

Thanks Chief!

Ferguson Police Chief Apologizes to The People of Ferguson – Video

The Chief of Police for the city of Ferguson MO., apologized to the people of Ferguson today, saying that he was sorry to the family of Mike Brown for, among other things, the length of time Mike Brown’s body was left in the street of Ferguson. And he tried to explain that the reason was to allow the officers time to collect all the evidence in the shooting of the unarmed teenager.

“I’m truly sorry for the loss of your son. I’m also sorry that it took so long to remove Michael from the street,” he said.”Please know that the investigating officers meant no disrespect to the Brown family, to the African-American community or the people (in the neighborhood where Brown was shot). They were simply trying to do their jobs,”

Chief Thomas Jackson, who has received much criticism for how he and the officers of Ferguson handled the shooting and protests in Ferguson, also apologized to the demonstrators who felt that they lost their right to peacefully assemble and protest because of the militant police response.

“The right of the people to peacefully assemble is what the police are here to protect. If anyone who was peacefully exercising that right is upset and angry, I feel responsible and I’m sorry.”

The chief ended the video by once again apologizing to the family of Mike Brown, saying once again that he “was sorry.”

“For any mistakes I’ve made, I take full responsibility. It’s an honor to serve the city of Ferguson and the people who live there. I look forward to working with you in the future to solve our problems, and once again, I deeply apologize to the Brown family.”

Republican Official Breaks Down in Tears Over His Hateful Blog Posts

I wonder… would he be this sorry if he wasn’t running for office this year? Hmmmm!

John Huppenthal, the Arizona Republican official who earlier this month confessed to being a prolific and nasty anonymous commenter on local politics blogs, apologized Wednesday for his bigoted online writings during an emotional press conference that ended with him walking out of the room in tears.

“I am here today to apologize for my blog comments,” Huppenthal said at the start of the press conference. “There have been a lot of discussions in recent days, including today, on my blog comments. I don’t mind getting beat up, I’ve been in elected office for a long time, it comes with the territory. That doesn’t bother me. What does bother me, what really bothers me, is that my blog comments were hurtful. I’m here today because of those hurtful blog comments, my blog comments. I’m here today to repudiate those blog comments, I’m here to renounce those blog comments. They are not what is in my mind, they don’t reflect the love that is in my heart, and they especially don’t reflect the actions of myself and especially my employees in this agency over the preceding years.”

Huppenthal, who serves as Arizona’s Superintendent of Public Instruction and is a former member of the state legislature, has admitted to writing hundreds of comments under pseudonyms on a number of local political blogs. Over the years, as TPM has previously reported, Huppenthal criticized President Obama for “rewarding the lazy pigs with food stamps (44 million people), air-conditioning, free health care, flat-screen TV’s (typical of ‘poor’ families),” flirted with birtherism, compared Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger to Adolf Hitler, and urged people to “stomp out” Spanish-language television stations and newspapers in America.

At his press conference Wednesday, Huppenthal was asked in particular about his comments regarding people on public assistance.

“I think a lot about economics, and how do we create opportunity, how do we enable people who are on poverty, who are on welfare, how do we give them the opportunity to move?” he said. “Those philosophies, that economics, in no way, shape, or form excuses the way that I expressed those sentiments. In no way, shape, or form. That’s why I repudiate those blog comments, and I not only repudiate them, I apologize for them. It is ok to talk about policy, it is not ok to talk about people.”

At the end if his apology, he broke down in tears and stormed off stage.

Ted Nugent Almost Kinda Apologized For His Remarks About President Obama

Feeling pressure from other Republicans who themselves are running or will run for office, Ted Nugent went on CNN earlier today and offered somewhat of an almost oh by the way apology, not so much to President Obama, but to all the “much better” men out there… namely the Republican men.

“I do apologize–not necessarily to the President–but on behalf of much better men than myself,” he said in an interview with conservative radio host Ben Ferguson, who’s also a CNN political commentator.

Texas attorney general Greg Abbott, the likely GOP gubernatorial nominee this year, came under heavy criticism from Democrats this week for campaigning with Nugent, who’s known for making outlandish comments about the President.

Nugent said he apologizes “for using the streetfighter terminology of ‘subhuman mongrel’ instead of just using more understandable language, such as ‘violator of his own- the Constitution.”

In his apology, Nugent appeared to regret more the fact that his language has been tied to Republican politicians from his state, such as Abbott, Gov. Rick Perry, and Sen. Ted Cruz.

“I apologize for using the term,” he said. “I will try to elevate my vernacular to the level of those great men that I’m learning from in the world of politics.”

While Perry and Cruz both said they found Nugent’s comment inappropriate, they didn’t rule out campaigning with him.

Star-Ledger to New Jersey: Oops.

We’ll get right to it.

Tom Moran, the Editorial Page Editor of the Newark Star-Ledger, is now regretting the paper’s endorsement of Chris Christie for Governor in 2013. Am I supposed to feel bad? Reassess my political beliefs? Cancel my subscription?

I will do none of those, but I will shake my head and lament the media landscape that deigns to recognize Chris Christie as a politician worthy of a second term. Or a first term for that matter. Many other writers have already pored over Moran’s writing, and if you want a blisteringly accurate analysis of his blindness on Christie’s educational policies, then please take a detour here.

I have two favorite passages from Moran’s article. Here is the first:

Yes, we knew Christie was a bully. But we didn’t know his crew was crazy enough to put people’s lives at risk in Fort Lee as a means to pressure the mayor. We didn’t know he would use Hurricane Sandy aid as a political slush fund. And we certainly didn’t know that Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer was sitting on a credible charge of extortion by Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno.

With all due respect to Moran, and I do agree with him on many issues, I knew that Christie was a nightmare way before he actually lulled the rest of New Jersey to sleep. He did put people’s lives in danger by cutting programs to the poor, the less fortunate, and to schools by making cuts that could have been alleviated with a small increase in revenue. He did treat Sandy as a political event right after it happened and rode that wave all the way to this past November since he didn’t have an economic record he could successfully run on. His YouTube videos also showed that he had no patience for anyone who disagreed with him and that he would not take any responsibility for the negative aspects of his policies. I can’t speak for Kim Guadango, but she and Christie do make a wonderful team.

So when Moran says that we didn’t know, he’s wrong. Many of us did know and tried to make it clear what was happening. But the Christie ad machine was too well-oiled and too loud. Blame yourself, Mr. Moran. Leave the rest of us out of it.

And now for the second:

And let’s not forget his opponent, Sen. Barbara Buono. She was not up to the job of being governor — even in the view of many Democrats. She got the party’s nomination because more credible candidates, including Cory Booker, backed out in the face of Christie’s strength.

I have not forgotten Barbara Buono and the ethical, caring campaign she ran. Nor have I forgotten that she spoke about the people who make up the majority of New Jersey; people who need to work for a living and whose lives have not benefited from the governor’s policies and, indeed, are being asked to give more while the wealthy are not. She was, and is, certainly up to the job of being governor.  The problem is that Moran cannot recognize the difference between a noise machine and beautiful music. That the Democratic Party did not support her is a problem that I recognized and wrote about. President Obama could have come to New Jersey, and he abdicated his responsibility. But you can’t make the connection between Barbara Buono’s ability to run this state with the lack of endorsements.

Governor Chrisite has always been an ego-driven bully and he has now been wounded politically. What was going to be one of his main campaign weapons, his outrageously inappropriate berating videos, will now be his greatest liability. He’ll need to come up with a different persona in order to reclaim the political middle if he wants to be president, and that will be extremely difficult. Will the core conservative Republican voter shun him? Probably not, but that’s not where elections are won.

Chris Christie has won his final election victory. He was always as he appears now, and it was always apparent to those of us who looked hard at his record and actions. That the Star-Ledger is just noticing tells us all we need to know about its myopia.

Dennis Rodman Apologized for CNN Outburst

In a statement released on Thursday, former NBA player and current BFF to North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-Un, Dennis Rodman apologized for the freak show performance he displayed in an interview with CNN.

“I want to first apologise to Kenneth Bae’s family. I embarrassed a lot of people. “I’m very sorry. At this point I should know better than to make political statements. I’m truly sorry.”

Rodman blamed his outburst on drinking, stating that some of the other players he brought to North Korea were feeling pressure from back home and were preparing to leave.

In the game they played against North Korea on Wednesday,  Rodman played the first half of the game, changed,  then watched the rest of the game with his new best friend, Kim.

Melissa Harris Perry Offers Tearful Heartfelt Apology To Romneys – Video

I’m not trying to make this apology a political issue, but this is just another example of the vast difference between Democrats and Republicans.

On December 29th Melissa Harris Perry, host at MSNBC, aired a show featuring a group of comedians to reflect on some of the news that caught their attention during the year 2013. It was a panel of comedians, so naturally the segment’s intent was comedic. What caused the controversy was a picture Melissa showed of the Romney’s grand kids, showing Mitt Romney’s black adopted grandson. Melissa’s panel of comedians offered various ‘jokes’ about the Romney clan and the Republican media went insane, demanding an immediate apology.

Among those calling for an apology was, of course, Sarah Palin. Palin took to her Facebook page and called the comedic segment “despicable.” She wrote;

“Leftist media hounds are not expressing an opinion with this attack; they are expressing a prejudice that would never be accepted if it came from anyone else but the lib[eral] media. This latest attack from the Left is despicable.”

So today, one week after her episode aired, Melissa Perry offered an apology. A tearful, heartfelt apology. Will anyone on the right ever apologize for anything they’ve said? Will Sarah Palin apologize for her careless slavery analogy that caused Martin Bashir to lose his job at MSNBC? Will Rush Limbaugh issue an apology to Sandra Fluke and all the women for all the insensitive things he’s said over the last 20 years?

Of course they wont. And that’s the difference between us and them.

Melissa’s apology.

Phil Robertson’s Apology for Anti – gay Statements… Kinda

This statement, from Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson was published by the Huffington Post.

“I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together. However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”

What did he say about gays? Read his original statement here.
