Hidden In Pete Hoekstra’s Web Ad, Race Was Injected

It’s your weekly dose of Republican racism.

By now, you’ve all probably heard about the Superbowl ad that Republican Pete Hoekstra ran in his home state of Michigan.

Hoekstra, running a campaign against Democratic senator Debbie Stabenow, used an ad of a “Chinese” actress, speaking broken english and invoking many of the stereotypes associated with the Chinese people. When asked about the obvious racial overtones in the ad, Hoekstra defended it, saying the ad contains nothing racial, and was meant to point out Mrs. Stabanie’s reckless spending.

“We knew we were taking an aggressive approach on this,” he said, “but this is a time where the people in Michigan and across the country are fed up with the spending, and we wanted to capture that frustration that they had with Washington, D.C. This ad … hits Debbie smack dab between the eyes on the issue where she is vulnerable with the voters of Michigan, and that is spending.”

Maybe Hoekstra is just ignorant to what is obvious to the rest of the nation, or maybe it was just poor judgment on his part. But thanks to the good folks over atTalking Points Memo, we now see that Hoekstra and his team knew the racial aspects of the ad, and they willingly contributed to it.

So what did Talking Points Memo find out?

It’s hidden in the programming language of the ad, a derogatory racial epithet used to describe Chinese people was found. The name “yellowgirl” was used to describe the “Chinese” actress Hoekstra used to deliver his message.

Coding from the ad.

img class=”yellowgirl” src=”https://s3…

Now again, Hoekstra could continue claiming this ad had nothing to do with race, but when you look at the coding in addition to the ad itself, it would seem that race is was the original intent, with messaging coming in second.

My Pick For The Best Superbowl Ad – Starring Clint Eastwood

Paying respects to Detroit, and the comeback of the American Auto Industry.

It’s halftime in America. The teams – Democrats and Republicans –  are in their respective locker rooms and like the Superbowl, one team will win, the other team will lose. And it’s all based on their decisions and the things they do to help or hurt America.

No More Mr. Niceguy. Gingrich Attacks Willard

Mitt Willard Romney and his secret PACS have used every dirty trick in the book to go after his fellow Republican Presidential challengers. His challengers, on the other hand, have mostly concentrated on attacking each other rather than going after Willard.

Oh, how times have changed. Yesterday, Newt Gingrich suggested teaming up with Rick Santorum to defeat Willard, saying, “I don’t think Romney can get much above 25 percent.”

“You take [Rick] Perry, [Michele] Bachmann, Santorum, Gingrich, you get a sense of what a small percentage Romney really represents,” Gingrich said, including himself in the “conservative” field in contrast to Romney and Ron Paul. Paul, according to Gingrich, is “a different kind of person and I don’t know how you would characterize his votes.”

And now this – an ad from the Gingrich campaign, calling Romney “timid.”

Its on folks! Romney has awakened the sleeping dog that is Newt Gingrich. Question now is, just how bad will his bite be?

Newt Gingrich To Mitt Romney – Liar Liar Pants On Fire

The only time in Newt Gingrich’s political career that he decided to go clean and not destroy his opponents with negative ads caused Gingrich to be demolished by negative ads against him. In the month of December, Gingrich went from leading the Republicans with 26% to barely polling ahead of Rick Perry with only 13% of the Republican voters.

After trying to walk the straight and narrow path, Gingrich today showed a glimpse of how he built his political career – through being down-right nasty, calling Willard Romney a liar!

Tired, frustrated and irritated, by his own account, Mr. Gingrich heartily agreed when a television interviewer asked him Tuesday if he was calling Mr. Romney a “liar” in claiming to be a conservative.

“Here’s a Massachusetts moderate,” Mr. Gingrich said, whose “Romneycare” health plan when Mr. Romney was governor of Massachusetts included taxpayer-paid abortions and put a Planned Parenthood official on a state health  board — red-cape issues for social conservatives.

Huntsman’s Supporters Call Romney A “Chameleon” – Ad

Jon Huntsman’s name will not be on the ballot next Tuesday in Iowa, but that is not stopping his supporters from rallying around him in New Hampshire, and in their rally cry to bring more attention to Huntsman, they’ve come up with a perfect name for Mitt Romney – a Chameleon!

The $300,000 ad campaign is expected to begin running across New Hampshire this weekend, according to an adviser for the organization known as Our Destiny PAC. The adviser was not authorized to comment publicly.

“Two serious candidates remain,” a voice says in the ad, which flashes images of Huntsman, the former Utah governor, and Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and front-runner in New Hampshire. “One willing to say anything, be anything. One who can actually do the job.”

It continues: “One state can stop the chameleon. Vote Jon Huntsman.”

Ron Paul Attacks Newt Gingrich – “It’s About Serial Hypocrisy” – Ad

Out of all the candidates running for the Republican nomination, Ron Paul is the only one going all out. His campaign is bringing out these ads faster than Newt Gingrich can tell you the name of his present wife.

The new ad is called “Serial Hypocrisy,” and in it, Gingrich, the present leader in the Republican race who is now trying to sell himself as a Washington outsider  tagged to clean up the Washington game, is heard saying, “if you’ve been Speaker of the House, you’re always an insider.”

But pay no mind to the 84 ethics violations brought against Newt Gingrich when he was Speaker of the House. Christian Conservatives – Newt’s your man!

Rick Perry’s Ad Called “Nuts” By His Own Pollster

A little bit of lies and controversy always seems to help more than they hurt in this crazy political atmostphere. Maybe that was Rick Perry’s goal when he launched a new ad, calling for the military to bring back don’t ask don’t tell, and implying that President Obama and the Democrats are engaging on a war on Religion.

But even before the ad launched, Perry’s own camp questioned the wisdom of the ad, with one top pollster objected to running it and called it “nuts.”

“…not everyone was comfortable with the script. When the ad was being crafted several weeks ago, Perry’s top pollster, Tony Fabrizio, called it “nuts,” according to an email sent from Fabrizio to the ad’s main creator, longtime GOP operative Nelson Warfield. In a separate email to The Huffington Post, Warfield confirmed that the ad was made over Fabrizio’s objections.

“Tony was against it from the get-go,” Warfield wrote. “It was the source of some extended conversation in the campaign. To be very clear: That spot was mine from writing the poll question to test[ing] it to drafting the script to overseeing production.”

Maybe Rick Perry should have listened to his pollster. As of 3:30PM today, December 8th, the ad has 216,181 dislikes on Youtube, and just a little over 4500 likes.

Ron Paul Attacks Newt Gingrich With The Truth

Ron Paul is doing what Mitt Romney still cannot do, attacking the Republican frontrunner (for now, that person is Newt Gingrich) in their race for the White House. This is Paul’s latest ad, pointing out some truths about Gingrich that should cause any Christian Conservative…. any human being for that matter, to take a second look.

Ron Paul Shows Newt Gingrich’s Speciality – The Flip Flop

We take pleasure in bringing you an ad from Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul. The ad puts Newt Gingrich, the present leader in the Republican nomination race, into the spotlight, and, we believe, is meant to show Mitt Romney how the real flip-floppers, flip flop.

The 150-second ad showcases some questionable conservative stances made by the former speaker of the House, such as his agreement with Nancy Pelosi that “our country must take action to address climate change” and labeling Representative Paul Ryan’s proposed Medicare overhaul as “right-wing social engineering.”

The ad uses gritty black and white news clips to slam Gingrich’s work since leaving public office 13 years ago as a lobbyist for the health care industry and for mortgage giant Freddie Mac.

Mitt Romney’s Campaign Defends His Lying Ad

Relax people, it’s okay to lie as part of your campaign strategy to become the next elected president of the United States. At least that’s what Mitt Romney and his campaign camp believes. And they want you to be in on the lie too!

When asked if they had any explanation for intentionally misleading the American people with an ad showing President Obama saying, “if we keep talking about the economy, we will lose,” Romney’s campaign said that was their intent. Misleading the American people is “exactly what we want.”

What the ad fails to tell the American people is that –  the then Senator –  Obama was actually paraphrasing something Mr. McCain said in their 2008 presidential campaign.

Romney senior New Hampshire adviser Tom Rath tells CBS News the ad is “exactly what we want.”

“They were using McCain’s words to make fun of McCain. And we’re using the exact same technique,” he said.

Pressed on whether it was unfair to lop off the top of Mr. Obama’s comments — which would show the president was quoting the McCain camp — Rath said, “He did say the words. That’s his voice.”

He then [suggested] that the more people discuss the ad, the better it is for the Romney campaign.

So what’s the moral of this story? There’s none. There are ABSOLUTELY NO MORALS depicted in this story… and that’s exactly the way Romney is choosing to run his campaign. Morals, apparently, are for losers!

Breaking News: Romney Is A Flip Flopper. That’s All – Ad

In our efforts to be fair and balanced, (well if Fox News could say it, why can’t we?) we bring you this ad by Republican candidate, Jon Huntsman. The fact that the ad criticizes Mitt Romney’s flip-flopping abilities, something we’ve tried to point out in previous blogs, is purely coincidental.

The ad.
