A new Gallop poll conducted on October 29th and 30th, shows that 75% of Americans agree with the President’s decision.

Independents and Democrats alike supports the idea of withdrawing our troops and ending the conflict. Of course, Republicans disagree.

Occupying Mitch McConnell’s Office

Too close for comfort, as Occupiers take their message directly to the enemy – Republican Senate Leader, Mitch McConnell.

WASHINGTON — Roughly 30 jobless protesters from D.C. neighborhoods occupied Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s office in the Russell Senate Office Building Thursday, saying they wanted to talk to him about jobs.

But McConnell was busy at the Capitol Building, where he led Republicans in blocking a $60 billion infrastructure bill. The protesters said they supported the measure.

McConnell’s legislative director offered to sit down with the group, but they declined, saying they’d rather wait for the senator himself. So they sat in his office, taking up every chair and lots of floor space while McConnell’s staff went about its business. A Capitol Police officer scoped the situation and said her heart went out to them for losing their jobs.

McConnell is known for saying that Republicans only priority is to make president Obama a one term president.

Apparently, the 99% of Americans think their priority should be what Republicans promised when they won the House of Representatives – Jobs!

Third Accuser Of Cain Means More Donations For His Campaign

As far as the Republican base is concerned, the more people you abuse sexually, the more money they will give you for your campaign if you’re running for the Republican nominee for president of the United States, as is Herman Cain. Herman Cain already proved that when two women came forward claiming that they were sexually abused by him back in the 90’s. After the story first broke by POLITICO, Cain went on a marathon  run, explaining away these women as liars, and that no abuse took place.

Of course, that was a lie. Less than 24 hrs after denying these women’s claims, Herman suddenly remembered some details. He remembered how tall one of the ladies were – she was as tall as his wife.

“I made a gesture by putting my hand under my chin, standing near this lady, saying: ‘Oh, you’re the same height as my wife.’ My wife is 5 feet tall, she comes up to my chin and I was simply making that comparison.”

He remembered what he said to her and he remembered his company paying the victim a yea’rs salary for her to keep her mouth shut about it!

This admission would make any normal thinking person do a double take and force them to ask some very important questions. Is Cain really someone who has the moral capacity to be President? Is he someone we want our children to admire or look up to? Any normal thinking person will have second thoughts about Cain, and they should. But Republicans are not normal. Soon after Cain suggested that inappropriate actions may have happened in the 90’s with these women, his campaign made a bit of news – they hauled in the most donations since Cain announced his candidacy.

But wait..

The Associated Press reported today that another woman has come forward stating that she too was subjected to inappropriate behavior on the part of  Mr. Cain. The Republican presidential candidate told CNN that the new allegations against him were “baseless.” He then points out that there are people trying to “destroy” his campaign, and offered this comforting note: “there is a force at work here that is much greater than those that would try to destroy me and destroy this campaign. That force is called the voice of the people. That’s why we are doing as well as we are.”

If his past is any indication, we expect Herman Cain to magically remember details of this third woman’s claim too, and we expect his Republican base to dig deeper in their pockets and donate even more to his campaign.

Go Herman!

Lifestyle Of The Rich And Famous – In Congress

“Few federal lawmakers must grapple with the financial ills –unemployment, loss of housing, wiped out savings — that have befallen millions of Americans,” said Sheila Krumholz, the Center for Responsive Politics’ executive director. “Congressional representatives on balance rank among the wealthiest of wealthy Americans and boast financial portfolios that are all but unattainable for most of their constituents.”

That was taken from a new report on the rich folks in Congress. You know, the ones we hire through our votes to represent us. They are supposed to be the folks working for our best interests, for a better America. But this report by the Center for Responsive Politics confirmed what every American already knew – that politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, are members of the MeFirst Society.

The report continues;

When averaging lawmakers’ minimum and maximum potential wealth for 2009, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) tops the list with holdings exceeding $303.5 million. Issa (pictured right) is followed by a fellow Californian, Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.), with $293.4 million. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) places third at $238.8 million.

Issa, Harman and Kerry realized wealth gains of nearly 21 percent, 19.8 percent and 14.3 percent respectively.

Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.), Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), Rep. Vernon Buchanan (R-Fla.) and Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) round the list of lawmakers who in 2009 recorded an average wealth of at least $100 million.

So where is all this income coming from. At a time when the American people are losing their homes, their jobs and their families because of a lousy economy, and at a time when congressional approval is at an all time low of 9%,  how are these same leaders making all this money?

They do it by serving and catering to their true constituents – no, not you the people, but Corporations… the people.

Corporations spends tens of millions yearly to lobby their favorite politician. They also provide amazing stock options these politicians find irresistible.

With 82 current members of Congress invested, General Electric tops this list. It’s followed by Bank of America (63), Cisco Systems (61), Proctor & Gamble (61) and Microsoft (54).

Apple, with 42 current congressional investors, edges IBM, with 41. Coca-Cola’s 39 congressional investors pop it a notch above PepsiCo, with 36.

And at least 20 current members of Congress were also last year invested in companies that found themselves the subject of congressional or federal agency inquiries, including Goldman Sachs and BP.

Furthermore, the companies behind a number of lawmakers’ favorite investments played key roles in lobbying Congress on two of the most critical legislative initiatives of the past two years: health care reform and financial regulatory reform.

Among health care-related companies, at least 20 current lawmakers reported owning stakes in Pfizer (49), Johnson & Johnson (39), Merck (27), Abbott Laboratories (25), CVS/Caremark (23), Bristol-Myers Squibb (22) and Amgen (20).

As for financial firms, Bank of American and Goldman Sachs are joined by Wells Fargo (45), JPMorgan Chase (38) and Citigroup (24).

Champagne wishes and Caviar dreams.

These ladies and gentlemen, are the people who feel your pain. They are the ones who know the devastation you face as you lose your home.

These millionaire politicians from the MeFirst Society, are looking out for your best interest.
Sure!

Republicans New Dumb Move – Zombie Obama With Bullet Hole In Head

In the continuing Republican saga of, publish-something-stupid-about-the-President-then-apologize-for-doing-it,  we bring you Virginia Republicans version, A Halloween theam email showing the President as a zombie with a bullet hole in his head.

The posterized image of a rotting, undead Obama with a bleeding, large-caliber hole an inch above his right eye prompted Democrats to cry foul and Virginia’s Republican governor to denounce it as “shameful and offensive.”

“This is a disgusting and violent portrayal of the president of the United States,” said Democratic Party of Virginia spokesman Brian Coy.

Gov. Bob McDonnell, through spokesman J. Tucker Martin, called on the Loudoun GOP to “apologize for their actions, and to immediately ensure that such imagery is never used again.”

Virginia GOP Chairman Pat Mullins said such an image “has no place in our politics. Ever.”

Loudoun County GOP chairman Mark Sell said in an email response to The Associated Press that the graphic was “a light-hearted attempt to inject satire humor into the Halloween holiday.”

The CIA is investigating.

Herman Cain Iz A Playa

Herman Cain must think he’s a Playa From The Himalaya! And if not a playa, then he’s definitely spreading the wealth around… his personal wealth that is, not talking about his finances.

POLITICO reports:

During Herman Cain’s tenure as the head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s, at least two female employees complained to colleagues and senior association officials about inappropriate behavior by Cain, ultimately leaving their jobs at the trade group, multiple sources confirm to POLITICO.

The women complained of sexually suggestive behavior by Cain that made them angry and uncomfortable, the sources said, and they signed agreements with the restaurant group that gave them financial payouts to leave the association. The agreements also included language that bars the women from talking about their departures.

Navy-Man Stands In Midst Of Oakland Tear Gas Street Holding Constitution – Video

A powerful video of a United States Navyman, standing in the middle of a tear gas-filled street in Oakland, holding a flag and a copy of the United States constitution. As he stands still, hands raised holding the Constitution facing the Oakland police, distant shots and explosions could be heard in the background.

Police in Oakland and nationwide are calling these Occupiers “violent” and are trying to justify the unnecessary brutal measures they’re using against American citizens exercising their rights, but when you see videos like the one below, you can’t help but wonder what is the real reason for the police actions, and exactly how much in “donations” went to their police department?

As far as the New York Police Department goes, we know that big banks have donated up to $4 million this year!

Stand with the Occupiers!

Herman Cain – “Imma Leave A Dime For You To Eat At White Castle.”

What would cause a Republican presidential candidate to make such a statement? It is so… insensitive! Does Herman Cain think he is better than anyone? Or is this just the socialist in him peeking out from under its conservative shell.

We’re not sure, but whatever it is, it takes a little more than a dime to eat a White Castle!

Teaparty To Bachmann – It’s Time For You To Go!

Michele Bachmann has worn out her welcome among her most loyal supporters – the Teaparty movement. She never had the support of the regular, normal thinking American, and now that President of the Teaparty group The American Majority Ned Ryun wrote, “It’s time for Michele Bachmann to go,” her already dead campaign just died again.

American Majority explains their reasons for burying Bachmann’s campaign, saying that although the congresswoman is the most vocal for the Teaparty movement and although she is the self-appointed leader of the Teaparty caucus in the House of Representatives, “she is a back-bencher!”

“I think it’s pretty obvious that Michele Bachmann is about Michele Bachmann… ”

“Let’s face it: she’s a back-bencher and has been a back bencher congressperson for years… This is not a serious presidential campaign.”

The group also accused Bachmann of trying to solidify her base now to get support for her new book. The group calls this obvious move by Bachmann, “a rightward shift,” saying, “(it) will come as the campaign works to hold on to its more conservative base of support in advance of the release of Bachmann’s new book next month.”

Surprise, Surprise!

Of course, Bachmann wouldn’t be Bachmann if she couldn’t find a conspiracy in this Teaparty message. She accused fellow Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry of being the originator of the message. Bachmann told CNN, “If Gov. Perry has something to say to me, he can come out to the debates and say it. But this is egg on the face unfortunately for the Perry campaign.”
