Lawsuit Filed Against Ted Cruz in Texas – Video

No, not because he was born in Canada and running for President of the United States, that lawsuit will come later if Donald Trump gets his way, and if Ted Cruz turns out to be the Republican candidate for president. This lawsuit filed in Texas was because of more sleazy maneuvering by Cruz and his team, and their violation a Texas law in the way they asked for donations.

According to the law, Texas House Bill 1265, anyone soliciting donations in the state using “fake checks” must specify on the check that it is a “SPECIMEN-NON-NEGOTIABLE” and those words must be printed on the check in 18-point lettering. Ted Cruz has sent out these “fake checks” trying to get Texans to send him $45, telling them that they donations will be matched. By the looks of the checks below, Cruz and his campaign clearly violated the specifics in the law.

“This is the kind of mail my legislation was trying to prevent,” said the Bill’s author, Gene Hu. “It certainly breaks the spirit of the law, and I agree that the Texas’ Consumer Protection Division should look into whether or not it breaks the letter of the law, as well.”

Phillip Martin, deputy director of Progress Texas filed the lawsuit, saying that Cruz must be held accountable. “We filed the complaint because no candidate is above the law, not even Ted Cruz.”

Bernie Sanders Rejects Contribution from Pharmaceutical CEO

Bernie Sanders is always bragging that he is not financed by big donors and the lobbyists crowd, but instead by the grassroots with the average donor giving around $30. And by the looks of things, Sanders is apparently telling the truth.

 The man who has become the public face of rising drug prices says he has donated to presidential candidate Bernie Sanders — who has been bashing Big Pharma on the campaign trail — to try to get a meeting so the two can talk it out.

Sanders isn’t interested. His campaign said Thursday that he’s giving the money to a Washington health clinic instead — and the drug executive isn’t getting the meeting.

Bernie Sanders Raised $2 Million in 24hrs After Democratic Debate

Sometime between 8 and 9PM Wednesday night during a campaign event in Los Angeles, Bernie Sanders, standing at the podium with his supporters, made the official announcement to huge cheers from the crowd.

“Just as a result of last night’s debate, I’m told that we raised $2 million dollars!”

Sander’s campaign later pointed out that the contributions poured in, the average donation being around $30.

Dylann Roof’s White Supremacist Group Donated Thousands to Republican Candidates

The leader of a white supremacist group that apparently influenced Dylann Roof, the suspect in the killing of nine African-Americans in a Charleston, S.C., church last week, has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Republican campaigns, including those of 2016 presidential contenders such as Ted Cruz, Rick Santorum and Rand Paul, the New York Times reports.

Mr. Cruz, a Texas senator, said Sunday night that he would be returning about $8,500 in donations that he had received from the Texas donor, Earl Holt III, who lists himself as president of the Council of Conservative Citizens.

“We just learned this evening that Mr. Holt had contributed to the campaign,” a spokesman for the Cruz campaign said in an email to The New York Times. “We will be immediately refunding all those donations.”

Mr. Paul’s campaign said it planned to send $2,250 received from Mr. Holt to a victims’ fund set up in the wake of the shooting.

“RandPAC is donating the funds to the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund to assist the victims families,” said Sergio Gor, a spokesman for the campaign. Mr. Holt made four separate donations to the Paul campaign last year, records show. The campaign could not confirm the total received but said that all the money it identified from the white supremacist leader would be donated to the fund.

Almost $400,000 Raised For Officer Darren Wilson – Mike Brown’s Murderer

They have no idea what happened because the cop, Darren Wilson has not given his side of the story. But the basic fact is clear –  an unarmed Mike Brown was running away from the police, erasing all threats the officer may have felt. And while running away, Brown was shot multiple times by Wilson, then left in the street for almost 4 hours for all to see.

That is the fact. But that fact is enough for some to conclude that the officer was absolutely correct in being Brown’s prosecutor, jury and executioner. And these people are putting their money where their love for Wilson is.

Almost $400,000 has been raised on the fundraising site gofundme.com for the six-year police veteran. After the first fundraising drive reached its goal of $234,000, a second page was established and has brought in more than $153,000 in four days. More than 9,000 people combined have contributed to the two fundraising pages.

By contrast, more than 8,600 people have donated about $250,000 to the gofundme page set up for Brown. Thousands of mourners attended Brown’s funeral Monday in St. Louis.

These Darren Wilson Donors are Celebrating The Murder of Mike Brown – Comments

A crowd funding endeavor has began to help Darren Wilson through “his trying times.” The page on GoFundMe has already reached it’s goal of $250,000 and according to its creator, “We stand behind Officer Darren Wilson and his family during this trying time in their lives. All proceeds will be sent directly to Darren Wilson and his family for any financial needs they may have including legal fees.”

The Officer you may remember, is the brave police officer who approached a black teenager in Ferguson committing the unthinkable act of walking on the street! The brave soldier with his badge and gun did what any other coward would do and he filled the youngster’s body with bullets as the teenager tried to ran away for his life! He obviously didn’t get too far.

Officer Wilson is their hero and is apparently going through a “trying time” right now! And the good patriots, who have absolutely no problem seeing another American gunned down in the street, have decided to help. But this is America and anyone can help any scum anyday. That’s not the shocking part. What’s shocking was some of the messages these donors left for Wilson when they chipped in their loot.

“I support officer Wilson and he did a great job removing an unnecessary thing from the public,” wrote David Durant, who chipped in $50.

“He made a mistake, he should not be crucified because a black man instigated his own death,” added fellow backer Freda Stone.

“Thank you Based Officer Wilson for doing the community this favor,” reads another.“We appreciate your service in the animal control division of the Ferguson Police Department.”

“Thanks for taking out the trash” said another donor with the name Mike “Din Do Nuffin” Brown. His donation was $15.00

The donor who called himself “Jonnie Cochran” said, “if the bullets in the front did hit, you must acquit.” He donated $100.00

Wyatt reminded me that it’s people like Mike Brown who still propagate rape culture in 2014. Thank you, Darren, for helping to stop rape culture.” That was ‘Sophie Mollison’ with her $20 donation.

Someone even used the name “Mike Brown” with their $100 donation, and said this: I want to apologize to Darren Wilson and the people of Ferguson for my bad behavior. I was a thug and would have taken a bullet sooner or later, most likely from one of my peers or someone defending themselves from violence I instigated again [sic] them. All Darren Wilson was save the community a lot of trouble. I hope to become a peaceful butterfly when I’m reincarnated. Though the guys up here in limbo with me say I’ll likely become a cockroach or parasite of some sort.”

New Documentary Claims Pat Robertson Stole Donations

A new documentary called Mission Congo is claiming that Pat Robertson stole donations intended for Rwanda refugees,  and sent those funds to his diamond mine instead.

“Mission Congo,” directed by Lara Zizic and David Turner, was largely inspired by the reporting of journalist Bill Sizemore, who has covered Robertson extensively over the years and uncovered issues with the legitimacy of his nonprofit organization, Operation Blessing International, in the 1990s.

Following the Rwandan genocide, Robertson encouraged viewers of the Christian Broadcasting Network’s “The 700 Club” to donate money to Operation Blessing. He said the organization would be helping the many refugees who’d made their way into Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo).

But pilots who worked for the organization have claimed that instead of transporting aid, cargo planes were often used to haul equipment for Robertson-backed diamond mining that was going on hundreds of miles away.

In a 2008 article for the Virginia Quarterly Review, Sizemore recalled that one of the pilots had kept notes on some of his trips. During a flight where Robertson was a passenger, one of those notes read, “Prayed for diamonds.”

The documentary’s directors reached out to the pilots and told them their story needed to be told on film. According to a press release for the movie, Zizic and Turner are hoping to draw more attention to what they say was an under-reported scandal.

“Sometimes a story hits you so profoundly that you simply have to act,” the directors said in the release. “We were researching a fiction script when we came across an article mentioning Robertson’s dual activities in Congo. We felt that these activities, and implied level of deception, were unfathomable on so many levels that we had to find out more. How could something like this happen? Why was there not more coverage in the media? How did he get away with it? If it happened then, is it still happening now?

President Obama Outraises Mitt Romney in August

For the first time in five months, the millions of Americans supporting President Obama’s re-election beat out the handful of billionaires trying to buy or steal the presidency for Mitt Romney. CNN reports;

– President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign and supporting committees brought in more than $114 million last month – the first time the incumbent has outraised his opponent, Gov. Mitt Romney, since April.

Obama’s Campaign Manager Jim Messina announced the figure for August late Sunday night.

Romney’s campaign brought in $111 million last month.

But for three months in a row – June, July, August – Romney’s camp brought in more than $100 million, with $106 million in June and $101 million in July.

“No celebrating, because they’re going to have an even bigger September. But now we know we can match them, doing this our way,” tweeted the Obama campaign.

August’s fundraising statistics mark a drastic improvement for the Obama campaign.

President Obama Contributes $5,000 To His Own Campaign

Yes folks, things are really that bad. In the past, president Obama spoke of Romney’s ability to out raise him and warned supporters that he could actually lose in November if Romney is able to spend uncontested amounts on television ads.

Now, President Obama is putting his own money into his campaign, trying to keep pace with the handful of Billionaires buying our Democracy for Mitt Romney.

President Obama has contributed $5,000 to his own presidential campaign.

In an e-mail today to supporters, Obama wrote, “yesterday, I made my first donation to support this campaign,” though he did not reveal the amount.

The amount: $5,000, according to the campaign.

Obama again warned backers about the prospect of a massive Republican spending advantage in the fall race against Mitt Romney.

Wrote the president: “On its own, what I gave won’t be enough to surmount the unprecedented fundraising we’ve seen on the other side, both from our opponent’s campaign and from the outside groups and special interests supporting him.”

John McCain Says Foreign Money Going to Romney’s Campaign

Senator and Romney presidential campaign surrogate John McCain (R-AZ) said Thursday that casino magnate Sheldon Adelson is indirectly injecting millions of dollar in Chinese “foreign money” into Mitt Romney‘s presidential election effort.

“Much of Mr. Adelson’s casino profits that go to him come from his casino in Macau, which says that obviously, maybe in a roundabout way foreign money is coming into an American political campaign,” McCain said in an interview on PBS’s News Hour.

“That is a great deal of money, and we need a level playing field and we need to go back to the realization… that we have to have a limit on the flow of money and corporations are not people,” he said.

Adelson announced Thursday he would be giving $10 million to the pro-Romney Super PACRestore Our Future, and reports stated his future contributions to pro-Romney groups could be “limitless.”

How to Purchase a Presidency – Mittens Gets a Huge Donation

Billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson is pumping $10 million into an outside group supporting GOP presumptive nominee Mitt Romney, the Associated Press and other news outlets report.

Adelson’s donation went to Restore Our Future, which has run ads to support Romney’s campaign and attack his opponents, the AP reports, citing anonymous sources. Charles Spies, Restore Our Future’s treasurer, declined to comment on donors. Adelson spokesman Ron Reese did not return telephone calls.

The donation is the latest sign deep-pocketed Republican donors are prepared to spend heavily to defeat President Obama through independent groups that can raise and spend unlimited amounts. Restore Our Future, a super PAC run by former Romney campaign aides, has collected $56.5 million between Jan. 1, 2011 and April 30 of this year, more than five times the amount raised by Priorities USA Action, a pro-Obama super PAC.
