Democrats Win Special Election in West Virginia

Republicans stuck to their old campaign strategy in West Virginia – trying to tie their Democratic opponent to President Obama. They figured it worked in the last two special elections – including Anthony Weiner’s old House seat in New York – and it was sure to work again. However, this time it didn’t work and after a Republican onslaught of millions of dollars into the race in the final weeks, the Democrat – Mr. Earl Ray Tomblinwon the election for governor over his Republican challenger Bill Maloney.

With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Tomblin, 59, led Maloney by 50 percent to 47 percent, or about 8,500 votes. Three other candidates received low levels of support, including one associated with the Green Party, who won 2 percent.

The court-ordered special election had become as much about the Democratic president as about the candidates on the ballot in the last days before the vote.

Outside groups poured millions of dollars into the contest, recognizing that a third special election loss for a Democrat within just the past three weeks would have been especially damaging as Obama’s 2012 re-election bid gears up.

The Democratic Governors Association spent $2.4 million on the race, and the Republican Governors Association spent $3.4 million, including a spot that began running a few days ago in the expensive Washington, D.C., media market tying Tomblin to Obama’s healthcare law.

Had Maloney won this election, the Republican propaganda machine would be calling it a referendum on Obama. I wonder if the lost would be looked upon as a referendum on Republican’s policies…!

Class Warfare – What Did Ronald Reagan Say About It

President Obama proposed what he calls The Buffett Plan, a bill that asks the rich to pay the same tax-rate as middle class Americans. The bill is sitting in Congress with no way forward, because Republicans have promised…no, pledged to Grover Norquist that they will not agree to any tax hikes, no matter how small it is, no matter what the circumstances.

They call the President’s proposal – asking the rich to pay what they paid under the Clinton Administration – “class warfare.” But these same Republicans have no problem cutting benefits from seniors and the poor to make sure that the rich gets more tax cuts. This taking from the poor and giving to the rich, as far as these Republicans are concerned, is not “class warfare,” it’s what every poor and middle class American should be willing do to make sure the rich are happy.

But what exactly did the god of these same Republicans think about the class warfare argument. Was Ronald Reagan in favor of taking from the poor and giving to the rich, like his Republican offspring now propose?

Let’s go to the video tape!

Hackers Plan To Bring Down The New York Stock Exchange Website On Monday

The group known as Anonymous has pledged their support for the protesters at “Occupy Wall Street,” and to show their solidarity, the hacking group has put out a video detailing their next target – The Wall Street Stock Exchange. The group claims the attack will be on Monday October 10th, at 3:30PM Eastern. Why?

Anonymous put it this way;

We can no longer stay silent as the population is taken advantage of for the sake of profits.

The group has claimed responsibility for bringing down popular sites like Paypal and Mastercard. Bringing down the New York Stock Exchange is a big goal, we shall see…

Report – 400,000 Education Jobs Will Be Created If Republicans Agree To Jobs Bill

If Republicans do the right thing and work with the President to get the economy going again through job creation, expect to see at least 400,000 education jobs saved or created because of the President’s $447 billion jobs bill.

According to a report from Reuters, the bill contains “$30 billion for state and local efforts to retain, rehire and hire educators, supporting 392,400 jobs, according to projections released by the Education Department and White House Council of Economic Advisers.”

Sounds like a good plan. It is exactly what we need in an economy where job creation is on the back burner of a do-nothing congress. If upwards of 392,400 education jobs are kept or created in this economy, consider it an asset for our kid’s future and beneficial to the economy as more people with jobs translate to more investments into the economy.

But don’t expect to see that happening anytime soon… if ever!

With a Republican controlled House of Representative already deciding that winning the next election is their top priority, doing anything to help the economy will not play into their game-plan. So expect educators to be laid off, expect an uncertain future for our children, thus, an uncertain future for this nation’s economy that will just keep creeping along… hopefully!

Seems that the Republican’s game-plan is in full effect, and it is working just fine thank you!

Hank Williams Fired For Making Ignorant Statement

It is never a smart idea to compare the President of the United States to Hitler, and Hank Williams, the country western singer who coined the famous phrase, “are you ready for some football” on ESPN, found out the hard way.

ESPN has pulled Hank Williams Jr.’s iconic song from the opening of Monday Night Football, after the country star compared President Obama to Adolf Hitler on Fox and Friends.

Williams characterized Obama playing golf with House Speaker John Boehner like this: “It would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu, OK?”

In the same interview, Williams compared Obama and Vice President Biden to the Three Stooges.

This isn’t the first time the country star has drawn ire for insulting the president. In 2008, while campaigning for Sarah Palin and John McCain, Williams led a Colorado crowd in the national anthem, claiming it was a song that then-candidate Obama wasn’t “crazy about.”

In a written non-apology, Williams claims his latest comments were simply comparing polar opposites.

Will Christie Run? The Latest Answer… Again!

Some people just cannot take no for an answer. Every time Chris Christie was asked if he was running for president in 2012, he always responded the same way. For whatever reason, the media and élite Republicans don’t know what “NO” means. Christie even joked about killing himself to show that he is serious about not running. And even then, after making that statement, the media asked, “what will Christie do, will he run?”

After Christie answered that question again in his well publicized speech at the Reagan Library by directing all to a political video where he said “NO” a number of ways, the media asked again, “what will Christie do?” Apparently, the word “NO” coming from Christie’s mouth is not an acceptable answer for the media or the elites.

And now this: Christie will make another statement explaining whether he plans to run or not. The Wall Street Journal has a story that says, just last week, Christie made a pledge that he will not run.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who has kept the political world in suspense for weeks over his presidential intentions, told prominent California fund-raisers and donors as recently as last Wednesday he had no plans to seek the White House.

One assurance took the form of a pledge Mr. Christie made to Meg Whitman, the newly appointed Hewlett-Packard Co. chief executive, said two people familiar with the matter. As a condition of Ms. Whitman’s hosting a high-priced fund-raiser for him, Mr. Christie said he wouldn’t enter the Republican presidential contest, these people said.

But that cannot be right. The media and the Republican elites would not rest until poor Christie says yes!

Rick Perry Does The Moonwalk – New Poll Numbers

The Texas disaster that is Rick Perry continues with his unintended withdrawal from the Republican presidential nomination process, as new poll numbers shows him now tied with Herman Cain for the number 2 slot behind the new leader of the pact, Mitt Romney.

A Washington Post/ABC News poll out Tuesday shows businessman Herman Cain has tied Perry for second place behind frontrunner Mitt Romney. Romney is at 25 percent while Cain and Perry each get 16 percent.

But the trajectory is an indicator of the men’s fortunes. The Texas governor has fallen 13 percentage points since the last poll while Cain has risen 12 in the last month.

As for the rest of the pack, Texas Rep. Ron Paul reaches double digits with 11 percent while former House speaker Newt Gingrich and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann are holding at 7 percent. Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum is at 2 percent while former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman is holding at 1 percent.

The poll surveyed 1,002 people from September 29th to October 2nd.

Watch Herman Cain Calls Out Rick Perry – “Just Plain Insensitive”

If you haven’t heard about Rick Perry and the name of his hunting grounds, then you must have been living under a rock – and we’re not talking about the infamous rock with the name “Niggerhead” written on it, and positioned at the entrance to the 1,070 acres property where Rick Perry and his friends hunted back in the 80’s either.

Herman Cain so far, is the only Republican presidential candidate to discuss this latest Perry slip-up. Will the other candidates use this opportunity to attack the leader of the Republican pact? We’ll have to wait and see.

This word on the property that Perry owned a lease to, and brought friends to, would normally be enough to end any previous presidential ambition. However, we’re not in normal times, so don’t be surprised if Perry’s poll numbers among these Teaparty/Republicans increase simply because of this scandal. After all, this is the group that praise killing people and suggested that the uninsured die if they get sick.

Democrats Already Have Chris Christie In Their Cross-hairs

Just in case Chris Christie decides this week to join the Republican circus and get the usual instant promotion to ring-master, Democrats have already begun getting their hunting gear prepared. All that’s needed now is confirmation that Christie is running…lol, and the hope that Rick Perry provides his inappropriately named  hunting grounds in Texas.

On the Sunday talk shows, Maryland governor Martin O’Malley and Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick were taking some pot shots at Chris Christie just to start the ball rolling.

Maryland Gov. and DGA Chairman Martin O’Malley on “Face the Nation;”

I think at the end of the day what this race is going to come down to is effectiveness. When it comes to being effective at creating jobs, improving schools, and expanding opportunity, his record in New Jersey has not been a record of governing for effectiveness. His bond rating has been downgraded by two of the bond rating agencies, his unemployment in New Jersey is one of the higher unemployment rates in the country at 9.4%. Last year, New Jersey created no new jobs and his schools, because of the choices he’s made to cut education funding, have actually been declining in their national ranking.

So that’s not a record of leadership and governance and effectiveness. So whatever the entertainment value is, it’s not effective governing.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick on “Meet The Press;”

Look, you know, he’s been governor for, what is it, a year and a half, two years? … I think unemployment in New Jersey is higher even than, than the national average. It’s some unfinished work in New Jersey in order to have proof points for the case he wants to make. I think the point is that the president is not leaving the outcome of this election up to pundits, pollsters, or some view of what the current or future field will be in the Republican Party. It’s about getting out and appealing to people where they live, where they are, where they feel, and making sure that they understand he’s trying to do what he can to help them out.

Disgusting Trap And Arrest Tactic By New York Police – Video

It’s a process called “Kettling” – leading the unsuspecting victim to an area where there’s no way out, and attacking. In this case, the NYPD demonstrated kettling on the protestors yesterday as over 700 people were arrested after police directed them to the Brooklyn Bridge, then started their arresting spree.

The video below shows this unbelievable “rounding-up” of the demonstrators at Occupy Wall Street.

Rick Perry And His Friends Hunted At “Niggerhead”

Here are some unflattering things you should know about Rick Perry, the Republican front-runner to challenge President Obama in the 2012 election.

  1. His family owned a lease for a 1,070 acre property – no, thats not bad at all… please stand by…
  2. Rick Perry, in the early days of his political career took fellow politicians and friends to this property for hunting trips. – no, number 2 is not that bad either. He’s from Texas, and hunting is most likely  the  favorite pastime…. but, please stand by…
  3. The name of this property frequented by Rick Perry and his friends is “Niggerhead.”
Now, since this story broke in the Washington Times, Rick Perry and his campaign released a statement stating that the Perry family did not own this property. But they did not deny the claim that Rick Perry’s father leased the property in the 1980’s, or the claim that a rock at the entrance to the property has the name, “Niggerhead” painted on it. The campaign also claims that the rock was eventually painted over.
From the Washington report;
When asked last week, Perry said the word on the rock is an “offensive name that has no place in the modern world.”
Asked to explain why the name is still seen on the rock through the coat of paint, Perry answered;

“My mother and father went to the lease and painted the rock in either 1983 or 1984,” Perry wrote. “This occurred after I paid a visit to the property with a friend and saw the rock with the offensive word. After my visit I called my folks and mentioned it to them, and they painted it over during their next visit.”

“Ever since, any time I ever saw the rock it was painted over,” Perry said.

But it seems that Perry’s recollection about this rock may not be correct at all. The Washington Post report continues;

Perry’s version of events differs in many respects from the recollections of seven people, interviewed by The Washington Post, who spoke in detail of their memories of seeing the rock with the name at various points during the years that Perry was associated with the property through his father, partners or his signature on a lease.

… Of those interviewed, the seven who said they saw the rock said the block-lettered name was clearly visible at different points in the 1980s and 1990s. One, a former worker on the ranch, believes he saw it as recently as 2008.

Herman Cain, one of the Republican challengers to Rick Perry and the only black Republican trying to get the Republican nomination said the name on the rock is “just plain insensitive.” Making his Sunday rounds on the cable networks, Cain told Chris Wallace of Fox News;

“My reaction is, that’s just very insensitive. [There is not] a more vile negative word than the N-word and for him to leave it there as long as he did, before I hear that they finally painted it over is just plain insensitive to a lot of black people in this country.”

However, not everyone thinks the name is offensive. A Texas county judge is quoted in the Washington Post as saying;
“It’s just a name,” said Haskell County Judge David Davis, sitting in his courtroom and looking at a window. “Like those are vertical blinds. It’s just what it was called. There was no significance other than as a hunting deal.”
Rick Perry is trying to become the President of these UNITED States in 2012… in 2012!  Amazing that stuff like this is still news in our times.
