Pope Francis – “Hitler Did Not Steal Power, He Was Elected By His People”

Pope Francis did not mention Donald Trump, but as the new U.S “President” was being sworn in, the Pope made some interesting statement to a Spanish newspaper, El Paris. Pope Francis warned that “crises provoke fears and worries,” among people, and added that Germans “elected” Adolf Hitler to lead and fix Germany because he was the one telling them, “I can do it.”

Sounds familiar?

In an hour-long interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais conducted as Donald Trump was being sworn in as US president, the pontiff also condemned the idea of using walls and barbed wire to keep out foreigners, among them refugees and migrants.  “Of course crises provoke fears and worries,” he said, but added that for him “the example of populism in the European sense of the word is Germany in 1933”.

The pope added: “Germany … was looking for a leader, someone who would give her back her identity and there was a little man named Adolf Hitler who said ‘I can do it’.” “Hitler did not steal power,” the pope said. “He was elected by his people and then he destroyed his people.” The Germans at that time also wanted to protect themselves with “walls and barbed wire so that others cannot take away their identity”, he said.

“The case of Germany is classic,” he said, adding that Hitler gave them a “deformed identity and we know what it produced.”

Adolf Hitler to Lose Honorary Citizen Title in German Town

Adolf Hitler will lose his honorary citizen’s title in Goslar, Germany, the latest town to distance itself from the former Nazi leader, officials said Wednesday.

The northern town’s council adopted a motion Tuesday to drop Hitler as an honorary citizen, town spokesman Christian Burgart told AFP.

Town councillors from the far-left Die Linke party initiated the move, which must still be formally confirmed by Goslar’s administrative council on October 29, he said.

Local leaders had earlier argued that since Hitler died in 1945 he no longer held the honorific title bestowed in 1934, Burgart said.

Nevertheless, town authorities wanted to “double up the legal aspect with a symbolic act”, he said.

Goslar — a town in northern Lower Saxony state and home to 42,000 — is the birthplace of Sigmar Gabriel, the leader of the opposition Social Democrats

Man Wears Nazi Uniform to Son’s Custody Hearing

A New Jersey father who made headlines after naming his son ‘Adolf Hitler’ has marched in to a court wearing a Nazi uniform.

Heath Campbell, 40, from Holland Township, gained national attention back in 2008 when a store refused to put his son’s name on a birthday cake.
Campbell has since become estranged from his wife, Deborah, after their children were put into foster care in 2011. He was at the Hunterdon County Family Court in Flemington fighting for the right to visit his youngest son, Heinrich Hons Campbell, 2.

“I’m going to tell the judge, I love my children. I want to be a father, let me be it,” Campbell told NBC10 outside court.
“Let me prove to the world that I am a good father.”

Campbell has reportedly worn his Nazi garb, including swastika patches, arm bands and a moustache in the style of Adolf Hitler’s since forming the hate group group “Hitler’s Order” a year ago. He was accompanied to court today by a woman, also wearing Nazi insignia, said to be a member of the group.

The New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services also has custody of Campbell’s three other children – Adolf Hitler Campbell, 7, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, 6, and 5-year-old Honzlynn Jeannie Campbell.

The children were taken into care after alleged violence and neglect in the family home. Heinrich Hons was taken by authorities 16 hours after his birth in November 2011 but his father denies any wrongdoing.

Hank Williams Fired For Making Ignorant Statement

It is never a smart idea to compare the President of the United States to Hitler, and Hank Williams, the country western singer who coined the famous phrase, “are you ready for some football” on ESPN, found out the hard way.

ESPN has pulled Hank Williams Jr.’s iconic song from the opening of Monday Night Football, after the country star compared President Obama to Adolf Hitler on Fox and Friends.

Williams characterized Obama playing golf with House Speaker John Boehner like this: “It would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu, OK?”

In the same interview, Williams compared Obama and Vice President Biden to the Three Stooges.

This isn’t the first time the country star has drawn ire for insulting the president. In 2008, while campaigning for Sarah Palin and John McCain, Williams led a Colorado crowd in the national anthem, claiming it was a song that then-candidate Obama wasn’t “crazy about.”

In a written non-apology, Williams claims his latest comments were simply comparing polar opposites.

Question Asked, “Who Is Going To Shoot Obama?”

According to Republicans, it is now acceptable to bring guns to political events and town halls meetings. And they are even recorded on video saying, “there’s nothing wrong with bringing guns to political events.” So it was just a matter of time before someone stood up and asked, “Who is going to shoot Obama?”

Well that question was asked on Tuesday.

According to the Athens Banner Herald, the question was asked at a town hall meeting held by Republican Rep. Paul Broun of Georgia. The report states;

Broun’s press secretary, Jessica Morris, confirmed that the question was indeed, who is going to shoot Obama? “Obviously, the question was inappropriate, so Congressman Broun moved on,” she said.

But instead of Mr. Broun denouncing the question, he played into it, saying;

“The thing is, I know there’s a lot of frustration with this president. We’re going to have an election next year. Hopefully, we’ll elect somebody that’s going to be a conservative, limited-government president that will take a smaller, who will sign a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.”

Broun’s decision not to denounce the question is not a surprise. As reported by Wiki;

On November 10, 2008, one week after the 2008 presidential election, Broun drew national attention when he criticized President-elect Barack Obama’s call for a civilian national service corps, suggesting that Obama might use it to establish a Marxist dictatorship.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Broun said, “That’s exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it’s exactly what the Soviet Union did. When he’s proposing to have a national security force that’s answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he’s showing me signs of being Marxist.” Broun later clarified his statement by saying, “We can’t be lulled into complacency. You have to remember that Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I’m not comparing him to Adolf Hitler. What I’m saying is there is the potential of going down that road.”

Welcome to civility in America… Republican style.
