Melissa Harris-Perry No Longer Working on MSNBC

Shocked! Unbelievable that MSNBC and Melissa Harris-Perry have butted heads to the point where they cannot straighten things out. Perry and MSNBC are apparently going their separate ways!

“Farewell #Nerdland,” she tweeted on Sunday, referring to the probing discussions on her weekend show. “Inviting diverse new voices to table was a privilege. Grateful for years of support & criticism.”

The network says MSNBC and Harris-Perry are parting ways.

She was scheduled to appear this Saturday and Sunday in the regular two-hour slot from 10 a.m. to noon. But Harris-Perry announced several days ago that she would stay away — in response to MSNBC’s pre-emption of her program for much of February for coverage of presidential politics.

Harris-Perry has focused on the politics of race, gender and social justice on her “Melissa Harris-Perry” show.

“Our show was taken — without comment or discussion or notice — in the midst of an election season,” Harris-Perry said in an email to her staff that was posted on her Twitter page on Friday.

MSNBC “would like me to appear for four inconsequential hours to read news that they deem relevant,” including more political news. “I will not be used as a tool for their purposes. I am not a token, mammy, or little brown bobble head,” said Harris-Perry, who is black.

“While MSNBC may believe that I am worthless, I know better,” she added. “I know who I am. I know why MHP Show is unique and valuable. I will not sell short myself or this show.”

Report: MSNBC and Keith Olbermann to Meet About Possible Return

Mediaite is reporting the possible return of Keith Olbermann to MSNBC, jump starting his “Countdown” program and using the 8pm time slot currently occupied by Chris Hayes. In an exclusive posting, Joe Concha at Mediaite states;

A well-placed source now informs me that a meeting has been set between Olbermann and Lack to discuss his return to the network and his old 8:00 PM slot. This arrangement was something that Mediaite’s Andrew Kirell first wrote about as a rumor in July; when asked for comment, a network executive with knowledge close to the situation tells me, “It is patently untrue.”

Said source indicates the impetus for the conversation is to jumpstart sagging ratings under Hayes, which despite an Emmy win this year has been a consistent drag on the rest of primetime since launching on April Fools Day in 2013. At one point this year in May, the show averaged only 74k in the demo, making it the worst performing MSNBC program at 8:00 PM since 2005. And given Olbermann is now a free agent after leaving ESPN again in July (Note: on good terms if the company’s farewell statement is any indication), he appears to be the only remedy for Lack.

MSNBC’s Host Drops the Sh*t Word on Air – Video

Now with Alex Wagner is no more. The show has came to a drastic end. MSNBC has cancelled the show and it has now joined a slew of other shows the liberal leaning network has taken off air. Some of these shows include The Cycle and The Ed Show. But before Alex Wagner said her final goodbye, she was heard on air saying “woo shit” as her final show came to an end.

Wagner is seen on set with all the necessary hands that helped produced her show. She uses the last moments to name some of the people who helped made the show what it was and after she called the last name, Wagner is heard saying, “Oh my God. That was massive.” And then came the infamous “woo, shit.”

MSNBC to cancel The Reid Report

It’s coming through the grapevine that the show hosted by Joy Reid on MSNBC, The Reid Report, will be canceled and that Mrs Reid was notified of the network’s decision on Thursday.

Media watchers have long speculated whether the “Lean Forward” network will shake up its struggling daytime lineup, especially after 1 p.m. ET host Ronan Farrow’s eponymous show fell to a stunning 11k viewers in the ages 25-54 demo just a few weeks ago. While Farrow has been the subject of most cancellation rumors, The Reid Report has frequently been named as well.

No word yet on when Reid’s last show will be broadcast.

Someone Should Tell Chris Matthews – “Unlikely” Does Not Mean “Impossible”

Chris Matthews is a very smart man. That said, why does he have such a hard time understanding the difference between the words “unlikely” and “impossible?”

Over the last few days I’ve watched in amazement as the host of MSNBC’s Hardball blows his lid over and over again trying to grasp the difference between the two words. And so far, no luck.

It’s about the one confirmed case if Ebola in this country. When the CDC held a news conference on Tuesday acknowledging that a man in Dallas was in isolation because he had the disease, Matthews started his show with a clip of President Obama saying it was highly “unlikely” that Ebola would come to our shores. And Matthews has been hung up on that word ever since.

His unfortunate guests have received the brunt of Matthews criticism of the President as he asked them, no demanded, that they explain why Mr. Obama used the word “unlikely” if there is a confirmed case of Ebola in Texas. And in typical Matthews fashion, his guests rarely ever get the chance to explain because Matthews keeps on talking.

“Why would he say that?” Matthews asked, evidence of confusion branded across his forehead as he impatiently listened for an answer. Then seconds later as a guest ventured to answer, Matthews will continue on his tirade.

“He said this was ‘unlikely’ that Ebola would come to America.  Why would this president make such a statement?” Matthews would then cap off his confusion with, “we are now living in the world of the unlikely.”

But on yesterday’s show,  one guest came close to explaining the difference to Matthews, that saying something was unlikely doesn’t mean it was impossible. Dr. Anthony Fauci was one of the guests yesterday and he tried to shed some light on the two words.

“How does the president two weeks ago say that something like this was “unlikely” to happen?” Chris asked the Doctor, then he continued, “he said that it would be unlikely. It isn’t unlikely, it happened!”

The doctor tried to explain. “Well, you can be unlikely Chris and still happen. It is unlikely, but in fact, it isn’t impossible. And that’s what happened.”

Chris Matthews continued, still not getting the difference.

“But how can you tell the American people don’t worry, it’s unlikely, and it just happened? You can’t keep saying it’s unlikely if it’s happened, can you?

The doctor tried again, “well again, it depends on what you mean. It’s still an unlikely situation that someone will get through. It’s still unlikely.”

Chris moved on to the next guest.

Again, Chris Matthews is a smart man, but he is tripping himself up on something that is so simple, a two year old would understand.

Unlikely and impossible are two different words Chris. One word means there is a chance, the other means there is no chance. When the president used the word “unlikely,” stop thinking that meant impossible.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes is Stoned in Ferguson Missouri – Video

No, he wasn’t injured. It was actually a rather lame effort by the person throwing the projectiles. However, at least two stones with thrown in Chris Hayes’ direction at yesterday’s protest in Ferguson Missouri.

As the stones were being hauled over a fence protecting the MSNBC host, a protester is heard in the background telling Hayes to “tell the true story!” Hayes replied that he was reporting the truth.

“People are angry man, they are real angry,” Hayes said, as he nervously glanced back and forth in the direction of the thrower.

Chris Matthews to President Obama – You Should Sue Congress – Video

Sometimes, I strongly disagree with Chris Matthews of MSNBC, like when he went on his show and clearly parroted talking-points from the Teaparty, or when he said that Democrats should accept the Teaparty and their crazy ideology. His acceptance of the Teaparty and their message has caused some rather angry posts to be written about him, right here on this site.

But there are other times when the unpredictable host of Hardball say things that’s worth repeating. Like on a previous broadcast when Matthews suggested that if Boehner and the Republicans are suing Obama for… absolutely no reason whatsoever, then maybe the President should sue Congress for not doing their job!

I’ll agree with that, but I’ll be more specific and suggest that President Obama should sue John Boehner and the do-noting Republicans in Congress.

Now you know this wouldn’t happen, even if it were possible for the Executive branch to sue the Legislative branch. This president, for whatever reason, seems to want to stay above the fray, and maybe this knowledge that Obama would not do anything, is the reason why Congressional Republicans are the way they are… determined to do nothing, determined to collect a paycheck from the rest of us, while not performing their duties!

MSNBC Host Claims It’s a Fact, That Obama “is From Kenya” – Video

MSNBC host Joy Reid brought on another MSNBC host, Chris Jansing on her show to discuss the U.S.-African Leaders Summit and the importance of the summit being successful under President Obama’s watch. Reid went to Jennings and asked for her input on the success of that Summit and I’m sure she was shocked by Jensing’s Teaparty/Birther answer.

And the fact that he’s from Kenya,” Jansing said. She continued, “and the fact that when he was elected there were great expectations from Africa continent that he would do great things for them…”

She later corrected herself.

MSNBC Contributor Who Spoke Out Against MSNBC Bias, Gets “Cancelled”

Yesterday, a paid MSNBC contributor spoke out against her network’s apparent bias in the way it reported the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

According to Rula Jebreal, MSNBC showed clear favoritism in their reporting to Isreal, and disregarded the other part of the story – the suffering being caused by Israeli bombs in Palestine.

“Because of AIPAC, and because of the money behind it, and because of Sheldon Adelson, and because of all of us in the media,” Jebreal said. “We are ridiculous. We are disgustingly biased when it comes to this issue.”

She went on… “Look at how many airtime Netanyahu and his folks have on air on a daily basis. Andrea Mitchell and others. I never see one Palestinian being interviewed on theses same issues.”

Well that was yesterday, and it seems that MSNBC cannot take criticism. After making her pont, Jebreal tweeted that all her upcoming appearances on the network were mysteriously cancelled.

MSNBC Gets Slammed by Guest For Their Pro Israel Broadcasting -Video

Their one sided coverage of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict was a little too much and a little too obvious for Rula Jebreal, the guest on today’s MSNBC program “Ronan Farrow Daily.”

During the interview, Palestinian journalist Rula Jebreal unloaded on Western media outlets, including MSNBC, arguing that influence from pro-Israel forces makes the news coverage more favorable to the likes of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Because of AIPAC, and because of the money behind it, and because of Sheldon Adelson, and because of all of us in the media. We are ridiculous. We are disgustingly biased when it comes to this issue,” Jebreal said.

“Look at how many airtime Netanyahu and his folks have on air on a daily basis. Andrea Mitchell and others,” she continued, referring to the MSNBC stalwart whose show airs right before Farrow’s afternoon program. “I never see one Palestinian being interviewed on theses same issues.”

When Farrow pushed back gently and pointed out that Palestinian guests have been interviewed, Jebreal continued her criticism.

“Maybe 30 seconds! And then you have 25 minutes for Bibi Netanyahu, and then half an hour for Naftali Bennett and many others,” Jebreal said.

NBC NEWS PROVES MAINSTREAM MEDIA SUCKS

As seen on America The Not So Beautiful

July 18, 2014

By Mike Caccioppoli

I really really really hate writing about the ongoing, never ending, never will end, “crisis” in the middle east. We have so many problems here at home that need fixing yet we, or should I say they (the mainstream media) push those troubles aside whenever something violent happens in that area of the world cause..well..violence gets dicks hard I guess.

This is also the reason why the murders on both sides of the conflict will continue. Both sides are excited by the blood shed. Both sides cheer when little children on the opposing side are killed. They all love it now. They love the violence and the retribution and the killings. They all get off on it now, the rebels, the establishment, the politicians, the suicide bombers, all of them. It’s a cycle they have grown used to and it’s why the USA should have no involvement at all. None. Zero.

OK I got that out of my system. The issue now is with NBC news and their removal of a pretty good reporter, Ayman Mohyeldin, from the Gaza strip. Mohyeldin had reported on the killing of four young boys who were playing on the beach by the Israeli military. He said he had just been playing with these boys shortly before they were murdered. Yes they were MURDERED, not merely KILLED.

NBC claims he was pulled because of “security concerns” but that doesn’t jive because they soon placed Richard Engel into the same position. Also these reporters are constantly in harms way, every single minute of every single day, so it’s obvious NBC is lying. The question is why? Why pull Mohyeldin? And why lie about it?

It’s no secret that there are many Jews in this country who are, for some strange reason, blindly sympathetic to Israel. Some of them have been to Israel but most of them have not. I’m always confused as to why they care so much. And if so why not relocate to Israel and join the fight? I’m half Jewish and half Italian. Yes I know I’m combining a religion with a nationality but that’s how we do it in New York so get over it. Many Jews consider me to be totally Jewish since it’s my mother’s side that is Jewish. However I have no connection to Israel at all, never been there. I have been to Italy just once. If Italy were to get into a conflict with a neighboring country I would have no vested interest in it at all. I would choose to look at it from a totally objective point of view. Mostly I just hate war and conflict and would hope it would all end quickly.

The problem we have in this country is that too many people see the Israel-Palestine conflict from an extremely biased point of view. They overwhelmingly support Israel. That is simply a fact. It’s also a fact that there are more Jews in important positions of power in our mainstream media than Palestinians. No this isn’t a stupid anti-Semitic “Jews run the world” paranoia rant, it’s simply fact. Therefore it’s obvious that some of those people and those who might answer to them don’t like it when Israelis are shown in a negative light. They will give the Palestinians some sympathy but just enough to try and keep people like myself off their backs, their hearts really aren’t in it.

Oh I really hate writing about this shit. I know liberals are mixed on this issue. Maybe some of you have been wondering what my beliefs were. But now we have this chicken shit move by NBC news. They have been known to slant to the left but that didn’t matter in this case. In these matters it rarely does. There are people with money who live in this country who don’t want to see Israelis look like murderers. But some of them ARE murderers as are some Palestinians. I have always seen the Israelis as the big rich bullies with the expensive weapons and the Palestinians as the kids who are fighting back anyway they can. Sometimes their ways are horrific and grotesque. Both sides see little reason to come to an agreement because the killing and the revenge and the never ending cycle of this shit seems so normal and feels so right to them now.

What we CAN control in this country is how we cover this conflict. What NBC did was just simply wrong just as it would be wrong to pull a reporter for covering the Palestinians killing Israeli children. That hasn’t happened though..has it?

This is why the mainstream media in the USA sucks. Money as with everything else in this Capitalism on steroids society, rules all. It trumps good reporting, it trumps fair reporting, it trumps right over wrong. This is why we can’t get “fair and balanced” news anymore. There is always an executive who is shitting in his or her pants over that one call they might get from a rich, angry advertiser.

So Ayman Mohyeldin gets pulled from doing his job. A job he does well.

NBC news should be ashamed of themselves.

David Gregory Parrots Republican Talking Points in Bill Clinton Interview

If you’re still wondering about David Gregory’s politics, then you’re probably the only one left who hasn’t figured it out yet. David Gregory is a Republican and he actively tooting the horn of the Republican party.

Watch what happened last week when Gregory was given the opportunity to interview former President of the United States, Bill Clinton. Instead of being a reporter and sticking to the facts, Gregory decided that this interview would be a perfect time and place to push his Republican talking points.

Hillary Clinton is running for president. Well, she hasn’t made her plans known yet, but she is running. So this interview was a perfect opportunity to hear what Bill had to say about the eventual Hillary candidacy. But instead of asking legitimate questions, Gregory decided to defend the do-nothing Republicans and accused President Obama of not doing enough to get the economy back on track. You know, regular Republican talking point.

The transcript was done by Crooks and liars.

GREGORY: How can a Democratic candidate for president, what challenges would a Democratic candidate for president, face running on the Obama economy?

CLINTON: First of all, that’s not what anybody should do. We should run on making it better. But he didn’t cause the meltdown, they actually say his administration took… stopped it from being worse, and there has been a concerted effort to stop implementing his economic plan in the second term, so none of you have any idea whether it would have worked or not.

GREGORY: But you don’t lay this at Speaker Boehner and the Republicans uniquely, do you? I mean, do you really think it’s their opposition to the president that has forced him to have such impediments to get the economy growing again?

CLINTON: No. We do have… keep in min the average crash takes ten years to get over. Has always. We got the jobs back in about six years. We now have to get the incomes up. I believe, let me just put it this way. I believe that if the two branches had been working smoothly together and taken advantage of this time when interest rates were lower than inflation to cut long term spending liabilities, but invest now in infrastructure, we would be in a lot better shape.

I think median wages would be going up. I think poverty would be going down. That is not what the Republicans believe. The Republicans believe government would always mess up a two car parade unless it’s something they want to spend money on and… in Washington I’m talking about and they’ve just wanted to cut everything and not invest any money in the things that, at least I believe are important. We need to try to get back to working together again.

No, I’m not blaming them entirely… (crosstalk). How can you… you tell me. Mr. McCarthy of California, I like him. The fellow who was just elected to Mr. Cantor’s…

GREGORY: Kevin McCarthy.

CLINTON: Yeah. I like him. Had a great visit with him at the inauguration. So what’s the first thing he does after he becomes the number two guy in the House leadership? What is the very first thing he does?

He changes his position on whether we’re going to fund the export import bank because the conservative populace say of that’s just a Wall Street, crony capitalism deal. That’s not a Wall Street crony capitalism deal. That’s a financing device that allows us to compete with the sixty other countries in the world who are trying to save jobs in their countries and they help finance exports.
