MSNBC’s Chris Hayes is Stoned in Ferguson Missouri – Video

No, he wasn’t injured. It was actually a rather lame effort by the person throwing the projectiles. However, at least two stones with thrown in Chris Hayes’ direction at yesterday’s protest in Ferguson Missouri.

As the stones were being hauled over a fence protecting the MSNBC host, a protester is heard in the background telling Hayes to “tell the true story!” Hayes replied that he was reporting the truth.

“People are angry man, they are real angry,” Hayes said, as he nervously glanced back and forth in the direction of the thrower.

Republicans Applaud Chris Hayes for Providing More Ammunition Against Obama – Video

Now I’m not sure what Chris Hayes is trying to accomplish here, maybe he wants to be known as an impartial reporter or someone who has no allegiance to any one group or party. Maybe he wants to be impartial. And although an impartial reporter is something to be admired, impartial reporters are a dying breed in today’s political landscape, and they are dying because most of this country have already picked a side and are prepared to defend that side to the end. Impartiality unfortunately, has no audience here.

If you read this blog often, you have already realized that I, like the rest of the nation, have picked a side. So imagine my surprise when Chris Hayes of MSNBC brought on a Republican and a former White House employee on his show, to argue the constitutionality of a president deciding to go off on his own and do stuff without the okay of Congress.

In this particular case, the group discussed the recent decision by President Obama to “negotiate” the release of a United States prisoner, Bowe Bergdahl

Of course, Republicans all argue that the US prisoner should stay in captivity. Amazingly, they  used the Sunday morning networks to complain that the United States should not have released five Gitmo prisoners to get the Taliban to release one US soldier. They were all livid! How dare the president make such a decision?

Chris brought on Republican Senator Jason Chaffetz to plead the Republican’s case. But Michael Gottlieb, the former White House Presidential Special Assistant, was making more of a case that the president made the right decision in acting swiftly to secure the release the captured soldier. That is when Chris Hayes pulled out a recording for the President denouncing George Bush when Bush acted alone on certain occasions.

At the end of the recording, the Republican’s face lit up as he happily applauded Chris Hayes and MSNBC for beating Fox News to this bit of ammunition against the President.

Hoboken Can Make Christie’s BridgeGate Look Like Small Potatoes

Chris Christie is presently embroiled in a huge scandal in New Jersey. The scandal, affectionately dubbed BridgeGate, is big enough to oust Christie if the claims that he had something to do with the lanes closure, turns out to be true. But BridgeGate is a small potato compared to what Christie did in Hoboken.

New Jersey got billions from the Federal Government to help the state recover from the Hurricane Sandy devastation. One of the cities that suffered was Hoboken and Chris Christie promised the people of the city that he would do whatever he can to help them recover. But when Hoboken’s mayor refused to endorse Christie’s re-election, Christie refused to help the people of Hoboken.

If it is determined that the people of Hoboken did not get the recovery funds allotted to them from the federal government because of Christie’s political retribution, then this could be a criminal act.

Chris Christie was in the middle of a reelection campaign. In this country, there is a law that governs campaign finance and all indications are that Chris Christie violated the campaign finance law when he took federal funds and distributed those funds based on political endorsements. That’s against the law.

You you cannot bribe someone to endorse you. Federal funds, intended to offer relief to those affected by a federally declared natural disaster, cannot be doled out to your political buddies or your endorsers alone, and when Christie shortchanged Hoboken because the mayor of that city chose not to endorse him, that’s a form of bribery using federal relief funds, and that’s against the law.

Hayes explains more about Hoboken.

Republican’s Reason For Shutting Down Government? Show Unity Against ObamaCare… Really!

Since the Republican Government Shutdown ended its 16th day yesterday, everyone’s been asking the same question. Why? Why did Republicans shut down the government and took this country on what seemed to be a pointless adventure. Well the answers are slowly beginning to come in and this from Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA) takes the cake… so far.

The reason for shutting down the government? So that Republicans could “reestablish our brand as being against ObamaCare.” Really? Yea, really. They wanted to show the world that they are united against ObamaCare… a scheme that cost the nation $25 Billion so far.

KINGSTON: People need to exhibit their beliefs and have the opportunity to debate, which is what we’ve been able to do in the last two weeks, and I think you can, you know, from a pessimistic standpoint say, you guys, you Republicans did not get anything out of it.

But on the other side, I think it was important to us to reestablish our brand as being against Obamacare and from what we’ve seen so far, Obamacare is not going to be a winner. It has not decreased the cost of medicine or…

HAYES: Congressman, do you think anyone going into this was confused about the Republican stance on Obamacare?

KINGSTON: You know, you would be surprised. I’m telling you, sometimes our base thinks that we haven’t driven the point enough, even though we’ve had something like forty different votes to defund it in one form or the other, we still get complaints that we’re not doing anything to defund Obamacare.

MSNBC Shakeup – Chris Hayes Will Take Ed Schultz’s Timeslot

Chris Hayes will take over the 8 p.m. time slot on MSNBC in the next month, the channel is expected to announce on Thursday morning, the day after the current host of that hour, Ed Schultz, said he was moving from the weekdays to the weekends.

Mr. Hayes, a liberal intellectual who has hosted a well-regarded weekend morning program on MSNBC for the past 18 months, is a protégé of Rachel Maddow, the highest-rated host on the channel. He will become the lead-in for her 9 p.m. program, “The Rachel Maddow Show.”

The change is predicated on the belief that MSNBC can win a wider audience with Mr. Hayes than it did with Mr. Schultz, a champion of the working class whose bluster didn’t always pair well with Ms. Maddow and the channel’s other prime-time program, “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.” Mr. Hayes, on the other hand, is just as wonky as Ms. Maddow and Mr. O’Donnell, and is a regular contributor to both of their programs.
