Congress’ Wish for Obama – “Just bomb the place and tell us about it later”

Rep. Jack Kingston

So we may be heading for another war, have you heard? A war with the terrorist group called ISIS. And as such, and according to the United States Constitution, Congress should be the ones making the final decision for war. Congress should have a debate and vote on any military engagement with ISIS.

But Congress is filled to the brim with cowards. Spineless politicians whose only focus is securing their own longevity even at the expense of the American people. Let me rephrase that… especially at the expense of the American people.

So although the Constitution demands that Congress stand up and do their job, the job they were elected to do, chances are that the cowards would cower and bury their heads under a rock until the President makes his decision… again!

Take what Jack Kingston had to say for example. And his sentiments are so true when talking about these congressional cowards. Now Kingston said that he is willing to take a vote on military action against ISIS, but listen to the his words when describing the thinking of his fellow congress members.

“A lot of people would like to stay on the sideline and say, ‘Just bomb the place and tell us about it later. It’s an election year. A lot of Democrats don’t know how it would play in their party, and Republicans don’t want to change anything. We like the path we’re on now. We can denounce it if it goes bad, and praise it if it goes well and ask what took him so long.”

Again, longevity. These people are willing to put aside the Constitution in order to secure another couple of years in Congress. And it makes you wonder, if they don’t want to do their job, why are they trying so hard to keep that job?

Sometimes, politics stink!

Yes, They Actually Came Togather and Prayed For God to Kill Obamacare – Video

This happened in 2010. I cannot remember seeing or hearing about it, but these right-wing hate mongers calling themselves “Christians,” were so against their fellow Americans getting the opportunity to buy private health care, that they gathered in Washington and prayed to God for Divine intervention in killing Obamacare.

And it wasn’t just the regular nuts that prayed, no, the irregular ones prayed too. Georgia Republican Congressman Jack Kingston joined in the insanity.

Really? A Southern Republican Representative Wants to Improve Obamacare?

Jack Kingston

Don’t get too excited about this from GOP Rep. Jack Kingston of Georgia—he has yet to propose an idea that would actually improve Obamacare—but:

“And there’s some criticism, ‘Well, are you helping improve this law when you make that change? And should we be doing that?'” Kingston said of pushback to his bill.”A lot of conservatives say, ‘Nah, let’s just step back and let this thing fall to pieces on its own.’ But I don’t think that’s always the responsible thing to do,” he added.

“I think we need to be looking for things that improve healthcare overall for all of us. And if there is something in ObamaCare, we need to know about it.”

Then, Kingston suggested the unthinkable: That Republicans should actually listen to reasons why Obamacare isn’t the Devil’s Medicine:

“If you get a lot of letters that say, ‘Hey, back off, it works. I have a special needs child and here’s why its been good for me,’ we want to listen to that,” he said.

In a sane GOP, neither of these statements would raise an eyebrow—Kingston’s words come down to a simple declaration that better is preferable to worse, and that if something is good, he’d like to know. But today’s GOP isn’t sane, and it’s a little surprising to hear Kingston give voice to such thoughts, particularly in light of the fact that he is a southern Republican seeking his party’s nomination for U.S. Senate.

I’m sure he will be stoned for this by his fellow Republicans.

Republican’s Reason For Shutting Down Government? Show Unity Against ObamaCare… Really!

Since the Republican Government Shutdown ended its 16th day yesterday, everyone’s been asking the same question. Why? Why did Republicans shut down the government and took this country on what seemed to be a pointless adventure. Well the answers are slowly beginning to come in and this from Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA) takes the cake… so far.

The reason for shutting down the government? So that Republicans could “reestablish our brand as being against ObamaCare.” Really? Yea, really. They wanted to show the world that they are united against ObamaCare… a scheme that cost the nation $25 Billion so far.

KINGSTON: People need to exhibit their beliefs and have the opportunity to debate, which is what we’ve been able to do in the last two weeks, and I think you can, you know, from a pessimistic standpoint say, you guys, you Republicans did not get anything out of it.

But on the other side, I think it was important to us to reestablish our brand as being against Obamacare and from what we’ve seen so far, Obamacare is not going to be a winner. It has not decreased the cost of medicine or…

HAYES: Congressman, do you think anyone going into this was confused about the Republican stance on Obamacare?

KINGSTON: You know, you would be surprised. I’m telling you, sometimes our base thinks that we haven’t driven the point enough, even though we’ve had something like forty different votes to defund it in one form or the other, we still get complaints that we’re not doing anything to defund Obamacare.
