“Fox News Killed my Precious Mother”

Tracy Knauss posted this message on his Facebook page, blaming the so-called “News” Network for the death of his mother. According to Knauss, his mother, an extremely devoted Fox News viewer, died 10 days after she suffered an injury and refused to go to the doctor because she didn’t want “ObamaCare getting all her information.”

Karole reports: When I first saw this image on Facebook, I wasn’t sure how on earth Fox News could have killed someone’s mother. And then I read the message that went with the photo. Tracy Knauss posted it on his Facebook page along with a message which said in part:

I know this personally. FOX News killed my precious mother, Hallie. She watched FOX religiously. And when she fell ten days before she died, she refused to go to the doctor because, “I don’t want Obamacare to get all of my information! she declared, recalling the warnings from FOX News “anchors.” She was emphatic. She was not going to consort with the muslim enemy. As she made out her will she told her lawyer, “I don’t want any of my money going to the Muslim Brotherhood!” And her last protestation dealt with “Obama’s death panels.” Mother died just days later. I hold FOX News responsible for my mother’s death.

Perfect Description for Mitt Romney – Republicans’ Etch A Sketch Candidate

This statement is as good a description of Mitt Romney as we’ve ever seen since Romney decided to run for political office back in the 1990’s, and oh yea, he’s not a career politician… wink wink!

The description was given on CNN by a Romney advisor Eric Fehrnstrom, when he was asked if Romney had hurt his chances with moderates in the general after moving “so far to the right.” Eric answered;

“Well, I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign. Everything changes. It’s almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and restart all over again.”

And that sums up Mitt Romney perfectly. A flip flopping Etch A Sketch candidate who will say whatever you want to hear to get elected. And if for some reason you hear Romney speaking negatively about an issue you cherish,  have no fear. Just shake ’em up, hit the reset button, and watch the Etch A Sketch candidate change like a chameleon to void his previous position.

If there’s one thing you cannot accuse Mitt Romney if, it’s being a man of conviction. Now imagine that as your leader!

President Obama Wows a Deaf Supporter

Buzzfeed brings us this story of a supporter who communicated with President Obama through sign language.

The supporter tweeted about his experience;

The moment I will never forget was when he looked at me. He gave me a chance to talk to him. It was like he was waiting for me to say something. I took the moment and signed “I am proud of you,” and his response was “Thank u” in sign language back! Oh my gosh! I was like wow! He understood me after I said I was proud of him. It was so amazing…I was just speechless. Right after he thanked me, he smiled at another deaf lady who signed “I love you.” When I shook his hand it did not feel like he was superior to me. He was just a humble man. I am just impressed by him and know that he will have my vote and he will win second term without a doubt. Yeah, I feel safe to have him for another term.

Post-Illinois: Mitt Wins. It’s Over.

That’s it.

Doesn’t matter what happens from here on out. Mitt Romney will be the GOP nominee. Rick Santorum will make speeches and say things that only an ultra-conservative will agree with. Newt will write another book about his campaign.

Here’s the skinny:

                  Predicted.              Actual

Romney. 48%                           46.7%

Santorum  31%                        35.0%

Gingrich. 11%                           9.3%

Paul.  9%                                     8.0%

Really. Can we talk about something else now? How about art, Mrs. Robinson?

Rush Limbaugh has Standards?

Can you believe it? There is something Rush Limbaugh wouldn’t do although its a perfect match for the right winged hate monger. Apparently, although he needs sponsors, Rush is not accepting ads from the Westboro Baptiste Church.

A spokeswoman for the radio network that carries conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh’s radio program has stated that they will reject any ads submitted by Westboro Baptist Church.

“Premiere Networks is not considering an offer of sponsorship from Westboro Baptist Church,” said Rachel Nelson, public relations director for Premiere Networks, which carries Limbaugh’s three hour program, in a statement given to the press.

Hatewatch, a blog overseen by the Southern Poverty Law Center, has been tracking the story since last week when Westboro first offered an ad for Limbaugh’s radio program.

Women of America – Rick Santorum Supports your Use of Contraception… So Says His Wife

Karen Santorum – the wife of Republican presidential contender Rick Santorum – broke some news last night on the Piers Morgan Show. According to Karen, Mr Santorum is absolutely in favor of women using contraception and if given a chance to take away that right as president, Karen wants all the women of America to know that little Ricky will do no such thing. On the contrary, he will allow you to use your contraception.

KAREN SANTORUM: It makes me really sad that the media tries to do that to him. They try to make it look like he is something that he’s not. Rick is a great guy, he’s completely supportive of women, he’s surrounded by a lot of very strong women, and I think women have nothing to fear. When it comes to contraceptives, he will do nothing on that issue.

[…]

PIERS MORGAN: When you say he’ll do nothing on the contraception issue, do you mean that, if he was to become President, that he would basically respect a woman’s right to have contraception if that’s what she chose to do?

KAREN SANTORUM: Absolutely. And he has said that.

So pay no attention to one of his most recent statements opposing contraception when he said, “One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is, I think, the dangers of contraception in this country. . . . Many of the Christian faith have said, well, that’s okay, contraception is okay. It’s not okay. It’s a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be.”

No people, that’s just Santorum being silly. You know, goofing around. He’s really a swell guy. Take his wife’s word on that!

High-Ranking Member of the Teaparty Accused of Kidnapping and Rape

So this must be what they mean when they engage in the war on women. Here is one of the high-ranking members of the Teaparty, behaving rather badly. His actions cannot be considered as having tea with his victim… no… it’s more like kidnap and rape.

His name is Michael John Kobulnicky, the public relations director for the San Diego Tea Party, and this is his contribution to the War on Women;

According to East County Magazine, Michael John Kobulnicky is accused of offering a woman a ride on February 25, but instead of taking her home, he drove to secluded island, pulled the victim out of the vehicle, sexually assaulted her, and left her in the sand. San Diego Police Lt. Andra Brown said, “He dragged her out of the car and sexually assaulted her pretty brutally.”

East County Magazine reports:

“He dragged her out of the car and sexually assaulted her pretty brutally,” San Diego Police Lt. Andra Brown told ECM news partner 10 News in late February, shortly after the February 25 assault occurred…

After Kobulnicky’s arrest, the San Diego Tea Party issued a statement indicating that Kobulnicky took leave the group in January for personal reasons and had not been in touch since then, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. He has been removed from his position while the legal process runs its course, the statement said, adding that “”Our hearts and our thoughts go out to the victim.”

…According to his website, Kobulnicky supports Christian values, is a father of five sons, and is co-founder and president of the National Council of Americans, Inc, a nonprofit that helps youths.

…He is charged with rape, kidnapping, and forcible sex with a foreign object. Evidence includes surveillance video shot at a local convenience store shortly before the kidnapping occurred. Kobulnicky is being held without bail pending arraignment on Monday.

Rick Santorum Promise to Reinstate Don’t Ask Don’t Tell

For these Republicans, the only way to make progress is by taking one step forward, then two steps back. After president Obama brought an end to the 17-year-old discriminatory policy against gays in the military, Rick Santorum – one of the front-runners in the Republican primary race – is vowing to return the nation to a time when being gay and serving in the military were grounds for discharge… maybe I shouldn’t be using the words “Santorum” and “discharge” in the same sentence.

Mitt Be Illin'(ois)

If there ever was a good time for the Romster to win a solid victory, this would be it. And, as luck would have it, he will win the Illinois primary going away. With the latest polling showing him with anywhere from a 10-15 point lead, this one will not be a nail-biter. Neither will the nomination battle. No brokered primary either. I know. I’m no fun. But then again, neither is Mitt.

The GOP has tried to move on from contraception to the economy, but the darn economy keeps improving, car sales are up, jobs are being created and consumer confidence is on the rise. Mitt’s been reduced to saying that he could do a better job with the recovery. Rick’s given up and says the real issue is freedom.

So here’s how it will go down:

Romney            48%

Santorum          31%

Gingrich            11%

Paul                   9%

A convincing win for Romney. More stories about how conservatives aren’t crazy about him. On to Louisiana.

Americans are Believing the Right-Winged Propaganda about the Health Care Law

The right winged propaganda machine is succeeding.  A new ABC News / Washington Post poll reveals that a majority of Americans have bought into the lie and now believe that the health care law signed by president Obama should be repealed.

When asked about the individual mandate in the law, two thirds of those who answered the question say that it should be overturned or the entire law must be thrown out.

Two-thirds of Americans say the U.S. Supreme Court should throw out either the individual mandate in the federal health care law or the law in its entirety, signaling the depth of public disagreement with that element of the Affordable Care Act.

This ABC News/Washington Post poll finds that Americans oppose the law overall by 52-41 percent. And 67 percent believe the high court should either ditch the law or at least the portion that requires nearly all Americans to have coverage.

The case against the President’s Health Care Law goes before the United States Supreme Court next week where Republicans will argue that the law is unconstitutional because it requires American to purchase health insurance. No other alternative policies are suggested, so if the law is repealed the status quo takes effect again and the gouging of Americans by greedy insurance companies will once again be accepted.

Business as usual.

The poll was conducted by telephone March 7-10, 2012, among a random national sample of 1,003 adults.

Santorum Urge Illinois to “Correct a Wrong on Tuesday”

On Tuesday, Illinois will go to the polls in the never-ending saga that is the Republican primary nominating contest, and Rick Santorum tweeted a message for Illinois – “correct the wrong on Tuesday.”

It would not be far-fetched to conclude from Mr. Santorum’s tweet that “the wrong” he is referring to is President Obama, who represented the district as Senator before successfully running for president in 2008.

Rick Perry Eliminates Health Insurance for Poor Women in Texas

Thanks to a decision by Republican Governor Rick Perry, 130,000 low-income women in Texas just lost their health insurance coverage. A bill that was recently signed into law by Rick Perry, disqualified Planned Parenthood from receiving federal grants thus, ending the Medicaid program that provided necessary health benefits to the poorer residents of his state.

The Department of Health and Human Services announced on Thursday that it will cut off all Medicaid funding for family planning to the state of Texas, following Gov. Rick Perry’s (R) decision to implement a new law that excludes Planned Parenthood from the state’s Medicaid Women’s Health Program.

Cindy Mann, director of the Center for Medicaid and State Operations (CMSO), wrote Texas health officials a letter on Thursday explaining that the state broke federal Medicaid rules by discriminating against qualified family planning providers and thus would be losing the entire program, which provides cancer screenings, contraceptives and basic health care to 130,000 low-income women each year.

“We very much regret the state’s decision to implement this rule, which will prevent women enrolled in the program from receiving services from the trusted health care providers they have chosen and relied upon for their care,” she wrote. “In light of Texas’ actions, CMS is not in a position to extend or renew the current [Medicaid contract].”

The federal government pays for nearly 90 percent of Texas’ $40 million Women’s Health Program, and nearly half of the program’s providers in Texas are Planned Parenthood clinics. But the new law that went into effect earlier this month disqualified Planned Parenthood from participating in the program because some of its clinics provide abortions, even though no state or federal money can be used to pay for those abortions.
