As the leader leads…

Given that blacks represent the majority of players in the NBA, it is easy to see the racism in this Republican’s statement.
A Minnesota legislator’s tweet about the NBA has prompted hundreds of responses, with many on social media calling it racist.
State Rep. Pat Garofalo sent a tweet Sunday that read: “Let’s be honest, 70% of teams in NBA could fold tomorrow + nobody would notice a difference w/ possible exception of increase in streetcrime.”
The Star Tribune reports that when asked about the tweet, the Farmington Republican said he was “talking about NBA’s high arrest rate and that they are the only major pro league that testing positive for marijuana is not a substance abuse violation.”
Garofalo added: “No intent beyond that.”
Within two hours of his tweet, more than 600 people retweeted it and hundreds more responded. Many called the comment he made in the tweet racist.
MSNBC is at it again. Bowing to the blowback of the right-wing lunatics and again, apparently firing another employee. This time, the network fired someone over a tweet. Yes a tweet.
In 2013, Cheerios made a commercial using an interracial family. The blowback from the racists was unbelievable. The ad however, was a total success prompting Cheerios to release another. Referencing the second ad, someone on Wednesday used the official MSNBC Twitter handle and tweeted this;
“Maybe the rightwing will hate it, but everyone else will go awww: the adorable new #Cheerios ad w/ biracial family.”
The Republican party and the right winged media went even more nuts. Reince Priebus, RNC Chairman immediately wrote a letter to MSNBC and called for a boycott of the station. That’s all that was needed, as MSNBC again, bowed to the manufactured Republican pushback on a non-issue.
And earlier today Phil Griffin, head of MSNBC issued the following statement;
The tweet last night was outrageous and unacceptable. we immediately acknowledged that it was offensive and wrong, apologized and deleted it. We have dismissed the person responsible for the tweet.
I personally apologized to Mr. Priebus and to everyone offended. At MSNBC, we believe in passionate, strong debate about the issues and we invite voices from all sides to participate, that will never change.
Chalk yet another one up for the made up hysteria of the Republican right wing.
The followers of Dr. Phil’s Twitter account had some rather harsh words for the Talk Show host. Seems Mr. Phil, or someone with access to his Twitter account, tweeted out this question to his 1.2 million followers:
The hashtag #teensaccused indicates that Dr. Phil will be doing a future show on the topic and was trying to solicit opinions from the public. But the response the show got from their followers caused Dr. Phil to delete the tweet and issue an apology.
Here’s some of the responses:
– @DrPhil The answer is No, Never you jackass. And then you kick whoever asked you in the throat. #teensaccused
– Are you “asking for a friend”? RT @DrPhil: If a girl is drunk, is it OK to have sex with her? Reply yes or no to @drphil #teensaccused
– Dr Oz was saving lives today and Dr. Phil is trying to hook up with drunk girls where is @oprah she needs to have an emergency team meeting
Here’s part of the apology Dr. Phil issued today:
“This Tweet was intended to evoke discussion leading into a very serious show topic based upon a recent news story, hence the #teensaccused label. It was a poll question, not a statement or a joke. As he has maintained over many years, Dr. Phil believes that the position of those incapacitated in any fashion; be it drugs, alcohol, age or mental illness can not and do not have the capacity to give their consent to anything, especially sex, which could have life changing repercussions. This was a research post in preparation for a show, not a personal post and Dr. Phil deleted it the second he saw it. It was clearly ill-advised. We sincerely apologize that it suggested anything other than what was intended, data gathering. As you can imagine, Dr. Phil is very upset that this happened.”
That last tweet says it all. Dr. Oz was at the scene of a British tourist who lost her foot when a taxi cab jumped the curb and ran over her. Oz was seen in pictures helping the tourist. With Dr. Phil asking these dumb questions, “where is Oprah” indeed?
After issuing this tweet, Michael Grunwald, Senior National Correspondent at TIME quickly deleted it. But it was already too late. Here’s a screen shot of Michael’s Tweet.
Grunwald has apologized and TIME released a statement: “Michael Grunwald posted an offensive tweet from his personal Twitter account that is in no way representative of TIME‘s views. He regrets having tweeted it, and he removed it from his feed.”
The maturity of these people are amazing. On Friday, while much of the nation was fixated on what was happening in Boston, Donald Trump used the occasion to send an inappropriate, childish and partisan tweet. But what exactly should we expect from an immature, partisan Republican? Exactly what Trump did.
What was happening in Boston on Friday was serious business. People lost their lives in the unfortunate events that began on Monday and by Friday, an entire city was locked indoors. FBI and local police was on a manhunt for someone they thought had bombs strapped to his body. Getting this person off the streets while minimizing the potential threat to the public was obviously a top priority.
But Trump, in his infinite wisdom or lack thereof, saw the perfect opportunity to attack – of all things – the President’s Affordable Health Care Program, better known as ObamaCare.
Said Trump…
Is the Boston killer eligible for Obama Care to bring him back to health?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 20, 2013
Given what we’ve come to know about Donald Trump in recent months, I guess we should be happy that Trump only attacked ObamaCare and not use the opportunity where the FBI a fugitive to demand Obama’s birth certificate.
Then again, it’s still early…
Donald Trump, you all know him right? The most pompous asset the Republican party have right now, weighed in on the ongoing debate of Mitt Romney’s financial secrets. Trump took to Twitter and tweeted his support for Romney keeping his secrets from the American people, with the following tweet;
President Obama wants @MittRomney to hand over even more past tax returns- he should when @BarackObama reveals his college applications.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 10, 2012
Suggesting that the president is lying about his education – a claim Trump has held ever since he captured the public’s attention with his baseless suggestions that President Obama was born in Kenya, Trump’s tweet caused a little stir among other twitter followers.
Here are some responses.
@realDonaldTrump nobody dislikes@mittromney for his wealth, if he has nothing to hide then jst release his records #simple @barackobama
— Josiah K Eyison (@jkeyison) July 10, 2012
@realDonaldTrump @MittRomney @BarackObama Yes, because hiding money is the same as college grades..you are an idiot
— Felecia W (@frcoulter) July 10, 2012
@realDonaldTrump @MittRomney @BarackObama those aren’t even on the same level. Let’s see all of Mitt’s school stuff then apples and organges
— Kristi (@krayoncolorz) July 10, 2012
@realDonaldTrump @barackobama yes, because all that Harvard law, President stuff, really makes me think he’s uneducated #bloodyridiculous
— Jason King (@Jason_E_King) July 10, 2012
And…
Do you really think @realDonaldTrump will reveal his real hairline? I don’t. @BarackObama

I couldn’t have said it better. After NBC News called the Wisconsin Recall election a “win for Scott Walker,” Twitter went wild with tweets both for and against the Union killing Republican governor.
But in all the fast flying tweets, this one resonated with me. It perfectly sums up what happened in Wisconsin a short while ago when it became obvious that Wisconsin voters overwhelmingly gave Walker permission to continue crushing the unions – unions that are set up to protect the very people who voted for Scott Walker today.
I think we need to hit rock-bottom in this country, b4 folks wake up. Maybe this is gets us closer to the bottom.#p2#wirecall#ctl#1u

No truer words have been spoken.
Okay. We know the day is not over, but it will be difficult, even impossible for anyone to beat today’s funniest tweet. It is from Wisconsin’s Governor Scott Walker and his tweet goes out to the public employees of his state, the same “hard-working” public employees that received the brunt of Walker’s attacks for over a year now.
Sidenote: These public union workers in Wisconsin will get another shot at Walker in less than a month. His recall election is scheduled for June 5th.
Walker’s Tweet:
Thank you to our dedicated public employees in WI!We appreciate your hard work and sacrifice.
— Governor Walker (@GovWalker) May 9, 2012
Needless to say, the Twitter world caught on to Walker’s sense of humor (if you wanna call it that). Below are some of the responses;
Completely disingenuous. @GovWalker Thank you to our dedicated public employees in WI! We appreciate your hard work and sacrifice.
— Just Me (@aabowen) May 9, 2012
@GovWalker but forget your right to assemble and have a union and screw you for giving in on my demand you pay more into your pensions — dave (@crazzeeedave) May 9, 2012
@GovWalker “appreciate your hard work and sacrifice” so we are going to take away your rights to collectively bargain #p2 #wiunion
— Bill King (@garak99) May 9, 2012
@GovWalker Thank you to our dedicated public employees in #WI! We (don’t) appreciate your hard work & (want more) sacrifice. #recallwalker

Senator Chuck Grassley took to the Twitter machine yesterday and called the President of the United States, “stupid.” Mr. Grassley – the Republican Senator from Iowa – is just one of a long and growing list of elected officials who take pleasure in disrespecting the Office of the Presidency… well, maybe just the office of this particular presidency.
Here is the interpretation of the Grassley tweet below (for those who are not a 16 years old).
Constituents asked why I am not outraged at President Obama’s attack on the Supreme Court independence. Because American people are not stupid as this ex-professor of Constitution Law.
On Tuesday, Illinois will go to the polls in the never-ending saga that is the Republican primary nominating contest, and Rick Santorum tweeted a message for Illinois – “correct the wrong on Tuesday.”
It would not be far-fetched to conclude from Mr. Santorum’s tweet that “the wrong” he is referring to is President Obama, who represented the district as Senator before successfully running for president in 2008.
