In an Instagram post congratulating Michael B Jordan, The Rock jokingly refused giving up the crown. “I CONCEDE NOTHING,” he said.
The younger brother of Eddie Murphy passed away on Wednesday, April 12th, in a New York hospital. He was 57 years old.
Although living in the brighter light of his older brother, Charlie made a name for himself, with frequent appearances on “Chapelle’s Show,” Harlem Nights and The Perfect Lady. He also co-starred in TV series like “Are We There Yet?” “Black Jesus,” “The Boondocks” and “Meet the Blacks.”
The news of his passing was conveyed by his publicist, who told TMZ that Charlie was undergoing chemotherapy in New York when he died. He suffered from Leukemia.

While promoting his new movie, Kong, Samuel L. Jackson called out the casting of the lead role in “Get Out”, questioning if the successful movie would be better received if the lead role was given to an African American actor “who really understands” racial issues, instead of British actor, Daniel Kaluuya, born in London to Ugandan parents.
“There are a lot of black British actors that work in this country all the time. I tend to wonder what would that movie have been with an American brother who really understands that in a way. Because Daniel grew up in a country where they’ve been interracial dating for a hundred years. Britain, there’s only about eight real white people left in Britain. … So what would a brother from America made of that role? I’m sure the director helped. Some things are universal, but everything ain’t.”
In an interview with GQ, Daniel, who played the lead role of Chris in “Get Out” – a movie that cost about $5 million to make while grossing over $100 million since its release – responded to Jackson’s criticism.
“When I’m around black people, I’m made to feel ‘other’ because I’m dark-skinned,” he said. “I’ve had to wrestle with that, with people going ‘You’re too black.’ Then I come to America, and they say, ‘You’re not black enough.’ I go to Uganda, I can’t speak the language. In India, I’m black. In the black community, I’m dark-skinned. In America, I’m British. Bro!”
Kaluuya went on to reference the racism that he and other black people have experienced in England, including police violence similar to events that have taken place in the U.S.
“I really respect African-American people. I just want to tell black stories,” he continued. “This is the frustrating thing, bro — in order to prove that I can play this role, I have to open up about the trauma that I’ve experienced as a black person. I have to show off my struggle so that people accept that I’m black. No matter that every single room I go to, I’m usually the darkest person there. You know what I’m saying? I kind of resent that mentality. I’m just an individual.”

The autopsy report is in. George Michael died of natural causes as the result of heart disease and a fatty liver, a British coroner said Tuesday.
Darren Salter, senior coroner for the county of Oxfordshire in southern England, said a post-mortem has found that the singer died of “dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver.”
Dilated cardiomyopathy is a condition in which the left ventricle of the heart becomes stretched and weakened, limiting the heart’s ability to pump blood. Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle.
The former Wham! singer-songwriter was found dead at his country home in Oxfordshire on Dec. 25. He was 53.
The former President and the former First Lady made an appearance in Washington today at the National Gallery of Art museum. Museum goers were taken by surprise and greeted the couple with cheers and applause.
This is the first time the couple have been seen out since Donald Trump made unsubstantiated claims the Obama administration wire-tapped his Trump Tower phones during the presidential election. President Trump has yet to provide any evidence for his bold claim and President Obama’s intelligence chief has denied any such activity occurred.
A crowd gathered to watch the former first couple leave the gallery and reportedly launched into a round of applause and cheers for them.

In a statement, Jackson’s publicist confirmed the news that the singer became a new mom.
“Janet Jackson and husband, Wissam Al Mana, are thrilled to welcome their new son, Eissa Al Mana, into the world,” her rep told ABC News. “Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably. No further details are available at this time.”

There will be no further comment at this stage.”
Police investigating the death say they were called to a property in Goring-on-Thames in Oxfordshire shortly before 2pm on Christmas Day. “Sadly, a 53-year-old man was confirmed deceased at the scene” the reports say. “At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.”
The Hill reports that a group of Cleveland Cavaliers players are refusing to stay at a Trump hotel in New York City, according to ESPN.
The Cavaliers have a contract with Trump SoHo hotel in lower Manhattan, but a group of players have been excused from staying there.
LeBron James is among the players who will not stay at the hotel, ESPN reports.
James endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton about a month before she lost the election to Donald Trump.
