The Ohio Supporters – Another Romney Campaign Lie Exposed

President Obama officially launched his 2012 Presidential re-election campaign on Saturday with a rally in Ohio. Speaking to a crowd of over 14000, the president hit all the right notes leaving the crowed fired up and ready to go.

But soon after the event was over, pictures began circulating from the right-wing and the Romney campaign depicting the crowed at the event as non-existent, as this tweet from the Mitt Romney Campaign Spokesman Ryan Williams said;

And the headline on the Breitbart conservative website read, “Obama Launches Campaign in Empty Arena.” If you are a low information Fox News viewer or someone who gets your news from Breitbart’s website, then you’ll walk away thinking the President has lost his touch. You will think the American people have tuned him out and you will think there is an enthusiasm gap for the President.

And then there is the truth. The video below shows a different story.

“Mitt Romney Does Not Want Firefighters To Be Paid More” – Maddow

In the clip below, Romney traveled to New York on the anniversary of Osama Bin Laden’s death. He is seen talking to Firefighters then later at a fundraiser, Romney tells his donors of a conversation he had with some of New York’s bravest.

Rachel Maddow reports;

“I spoke with a fireman yesterday,” Romney told his donors, “and he has a 1 bedroom apartment and his wife is pregnant, and he can’t afford a second bedroom. …I asked the firefighters I was meeting with, about 15 of them, how many had to take another job to make ends meet, and almost all of them had.”

Rachel Maddow, host of MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, then shows clips of Romney telling audiences that government employees are getting paid too much money, and if given a chance, he will cut government workers and workers pay.

The Chart Republicans Hate To See – Obama on Job Creation

Despite adverse shocks that have created headwinds for economic growth the economy has added private sector jobs for 26 straight months, for a total of 4.25 million payroll jobs over that period.  With upward revisions of 65,000 jobs to the past two months’ employment reports, in the first quarter of 2012 private employment expanded by 697,000 jobs, the largest quarterly increase since the first quarter of 2006.  So far this year, 827,000 private sector jobs have been added, on net.

Rick Santorum: “As Governor, Mitt Romney was 47th Out of 50 States in Job Creation”

Today, Mitt Romney is bowing to the commands of Rick Santorum, even making the unprecedented move for a presidential nominee to go to the loser’s campaign headquarters to talk to the loser. That is what Romney is doing today as he begins his courtship for the Santorum endorsement.

And in preparation of that eventual endorsement, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has prepared this video, reminding Santorum and Romney of some of the things that was said as recently as a few months ago.

This is too easy.

Mitt Romney’s Coveted Endorser Ted Nugent Explodes in CBS Interview

Ted Nugent is a man who has said some very outlandish things, most recently calling the President and members of his administration “criminals.” He was recently investigated by the CIA after making threatening remarks about the president’s possible re-election, where he said if the president gets elected for a second term, he [Nugent] will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.

The Republican nominee for president Mitt Romney, actively went after and got Ted’s endorsement. After Ted’s outburst against the President and his administration, the Romney campaign issued a weak statement basically saying that both sides should be mindful of what they say.

CBS received this interview with Nugent after his meeting with the Secret Service, and as I watch another unnecessary outburst from Nugent, I couldn’t help but wonder why Mitt Romney so desperately needed Ted’s endorsement.

President Obama on The Dream Act – “No Is Not An Option.”

USA Today is reporting that President Obama told a largely Hispanic gathering at the White House today that he will continue to fight for legislation that would ease the path to citizenship for some children of illegal immigrants.

Speaking at a Cinco de Mayo reception, Obama said congressional Republicans have blocked the “DREAM Act,” which would apply to undocumented college students and members of the military.

“We didn’t come this far just to let partisan politics stand in our way,” Obama said. “‘No’ is not an option.”

Latinos are the nation’s fastest-growing voting population, and are a major prize in this election.

Polls currently give Obama a huge lead over Republican challenger Mitt Romney among Latino voters; the president’s re-election team is currently running ads in Spanish-language media.

Mitt Romney Is An Empty Suit, and We Have Proof

Breaking News: Mitt Romney is an empty suit – but you already knew that. So it should come as no surprise to hear Mitt Romney’s plan to restore the economy.

While campaigning in Virginia earlier this week, Romney passed on some information explaining his answer to a common question these days – what would Romney do to help the economy?

“What I would do? People ask me, `What would you to get the economy going?’ and I say, `Well look at what the president’s done and do the opposite.”

Yep, that’s his answer and it’s quite alarming. To better understand the magnitude of this empty answer from this empty Republican suit named Mitt Romney, let’s take a look at some of the things President Obama has done, and the opposite path Romney would take.

1 – less than 4 years in office, President Obama has already cut taxes for small businesses 17 times. Romney would do the opposite, which means he will raise taxes on small businesses 17 times in his first term. But wait, there is a small issue called the Grover Norquist Pledge – a pledge that Republicans have taken making it impossible for them to raise taxes. So no opposite here.

2 – in less than 4 years, the President has cut taxes for 95% of the working middle class. A Romney opposite would be to raise taxes on 95% of the working middle class. By the way, that Grover Norquist pledge mentioned above would not apply here, as Republicans have shown a preference to putting the burdens of the economy squarely on the back of the middle class. Raising taxes on the middle class is an opposite Romney would certainly entertain.

3 – in less than 4 years, the President’s policies have saved the American Auto industry. A Romney opposite would be to let the auto industry die. As a matter of fact, Romney was very clear that killing the auto industry was his preferred method. He even said President Obama should “let Detroit go bankrupt.” I thought we were talking about helping the economy. Killing off the auto industry means killing off hundreds of thousands of jobs. Exactly how would this help the economy? Yes, definitely an opposite here.

4 – in less than 4 years, the President’s policies have created or saved over 4 million private sector jobs. A Romney opposite would be to eliminate these jobs. As a Venture Capitalist at Bain Capital, Mitt Romney did just that – taking over American companies, shutting them down and shipping those jobs overseas. And as governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney’s job record was dismal – he brought the state’s jobs record down to 47th out of all 50 states. Eliminating jobs? A proven Romney policy. Another definite opposite.

Although we could continue, the point is clear. Mitt Romney has finally decided to be honest about something. The only problem is his honesty about doing things opposite to President Obama on the economy is a recipe for disaster. We’ve already been down that road with Bush and that road lead us straight to this recession. We refuse to fall for the same failed game plan again.

So Newt, Tell Us What You Really Think about Romney

The Republican nominating process this election cycle has been a godsend for the Democratic Party and the Obama re-election campaign is taking full advantage of that process.

With the recent withdrawal of Newt Gingrich’s presidential aspirations, the President’s campaign has put together this nifty little ad, using some of Newt’s own words to describe Mitt Romney.

Let’s go to the video-tape.

Even Fox News Is Confused With Newt and Romney’s New Found Love

Shepard Smith of the Fox News Network had the apparently unpleasant job of reading Mitt Romney’s statement on the withdrawal of Newt Gingrich’s presidential candidacy. After reading a brief portion of the statement, Mr. Smith shared his own feelings on politics in general, calling it weird and creepy!”

Weird and creepy indeed, as Mitt Romney and his Super Pac have spent tens of millions of dollars all across the nation to further downgrade Newt Gingrich’s humanity… as if that was even possible.

Stephen King: Tax Me, for F@%&’s Sake!

There are some people in the top 1% who are more than willing to pay their fair share of taxes. We all know about Warren Buffett and his personal push to get tax laws changed that will require the rich to pay taxes more appropriate to their income. We’ve also documented others like Russell Simmons, Mark Cuban and Nick Hanauer among others, all members of the 1% who have made their feelings about paying their fair share known.

Now it’s Stephen King’s turn and based on his passion in this article, I’ll venture to say he’s had enough! Be warned, he is very very passionate.

The Koch brothers are right-wing creepazoids, but they’re giving right-wing creepazoids. Here’s an example: 68 million fine American dollars to Deerfield Academy. Which is great for Deerfield Academy. But it won’t do squat for cleaning up the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, where food fish are now showing up with black lesions. It won’t pay for stronger regulations to keep BP (or some other bunch of dipshit oil drillers) from doing it again. It won’t repair the levees surrounding New Orleans. It won’t improve education in Mississippi or Alabama. But what the hell—them li’l crackers ain’t never going to go to Deerfield Academy anyway. Fuck ’em if they can’t take a joke.

Here’s another crock of fresh bullshit delivered by the right wing of the Republican Party (which has become, so far as I can see, the only wing of the Republican Party): the richer rich people get, the more jobs they create. Really? I have a total payroll of about 60 people, most of them working for the two radio stations I own in Bangor, Maine. If I hit the movie jackpot—as I have, from time to time—and own a piece of a film that grosses $200 million, what am I going to do with it? Buy another radio station? I don’t think so, since I’m losing my shirt on the ones I own already. But suppose I did, and hired on an additional dozen folks. Good for them. Whoopee-ding for the rest of the economy.

What Do You Expect From Someone with a Swiss Bank Account…?

Another ad from the Obama re-election campaign points out that because of President Obama’s Clean Energy Initiatives, jobs were created right here in America. As opposed to Mitt Romney’s efforts to create jobs overseas, as in other countries.

Another great ad from the Obama campaign.

Arianna Huffington, You Are Wrong… Again!

Call it payback by the Huffington Post founder, Arianna Huffington. But when President Obama used her organization as the butt of one of his many jokes in Saturday’s Correspondents Dinner, everyone knew it was just a matter of time before Ariana attacked.

On Saturday, President Obama jokingly congratulated Arianna’s Huffington Post on winning the Pulitzer. The President then went on to say, “You deserve it, Arianna. There’s no one else out there linking to the kind of hard-hitting journalism that HuffPo is linking to every single day.” The joke was a hit and the audience enjoyed the moment. But in Arianna’s head, the wheels had to be turning and on Monday – two days after the President made his remarks – the Huffington Post Founder finally found her opportunity to strike back.

She used a video the President’s re-election campaign put out five days ago, where the question was asked if Mitt Romney would have made the same decision to capture and kill Osama Bin Laden. Of course, Mitt Romney found fault with this video calling it divisive, and the so-called “liberal” Arianna echoed Romney’s words almost verbatim.

“I don’t think there should be an ad about that. I think it’s one thing to celebrate the fact that they did such a great job, it’s one thing to have an NBC special from the ‘Situation Room’ … all that to me is perfectly legitimate, but to turn it into a campaign ad is one of the most despicable things you can do,” Arianna said.

She then went on to say that the President had no way of knowing that Mitt Romney would not have made the same call to get Bin Laden.

“There is no way to know whether Romney would have been as decisive and to actually speculate that he wouldn’t be is to me not the way to run campaigns on either side.”

But the question on whether Romney would have made that decision if he were president is a very legitimate one and it is a question every voting American should ask. The person who occupy the Oval office should be someone of convictions, someone who is capable of making the right decisions not for political reasons, but for the good of the country. And from what we’ve seen from Mitt Romney so far, he is not a man of convictions. Mitt Romney’s decision-making process depends on what direction the winds are blowing at that particular time. There are tons of reasons why he’s called a flip-flopper.

Arianna, you are wrong on this one. Pointing out the fact that Mitt Romney changes his position faster than a porn star is not speculating, it is a legitimate point that the American voter must look at. Have you ever heard of the Etch A Sketch?
