Trump May Cancel The Three Ring Circus

If no one wants to play with you, then why play with yourself?

That’s the question Donald Trump is trying to answer, as just about all the Republican presidential candidates have decided to take their marbles and run, leaving the Donald with Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum. Trump is now considering cancelling the debate all together.

WASHINGTON – Business mogul Donald Trump said Friday he might scrub a presidential debate that so far has drawn only Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum.

Trump, the reality television star who has not ruled out an independent White House bid, had hoped for all of the Republican candidates to join in a debate he would moderate Dec. 27 in Iowa. Most have decided not to, leaving only Gingrich, a former House speaker, and Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator.

“I have to look into it,” Trump told Fox Business Network when asked whether he would host a two-candidate debate.

Trump was most indignant about Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann skipping out.

“She came up to see me four times. She would call me and ask me for advice,” Trump said. “She said if she wins, she would like to think about me for the vice presidency. Most importantly, I did a two-hour phone call for her with her people. … And after all that, she announced she was not going to do the debate. It’s called loyalty. How do you do that? It’s amazing to me.”

The Three Stooges Stars In The Trump Debate

With Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry officially joining Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman in denying reality Television star Donald Trump the chance to sell his new book, December 27th is bound to remind us of The Three Stooges. That’s the day when Rick Santorum joins Newt Gingrich as they answer questions posed by Mr. ‘You’re Fired’ himself.

Mr. no-chance-in-hell-to-win-the-presidency Santorum was just happy to still be on stage talking about anything, no matter where that stage may be. He criticized the other Republican candidates today calling them “hypocrites.”

I agree with Santorum on his description of the others this one time.

“Many of my opponents jockeyed to be the first to fly up to New York and use Donald Trump for a photo op and no doubt try and secure an endorsement,” the former Pennsylvania senator said in a statement. “But when Donald wants to moderate a debate – they refuse to attend. That’s what’s so wrong with politics today – hypocrisy.”

So set your DVR’s and pop some popcorn. On December 27th, gather everyone around the television and tell the young ones about the crazy antics of Moe, Larry and Curley. In fact, show them the crazy antics… we all know Trump needs the ratings.

Another Republican Candidate Declines Trump Moderated Debate

If you have a circus and the clowns don’t show up, is it still a circus?

Well Ring Master Donald Trump and the conservative organization Newsmax may find out sooner than later. Yesterday, Jon Huntsman was the first Republican Presidential candidate to decline a Newsmax invitation to their December 27th debate, simply because The Donald is scheduled to moderate the event. And now we learn that Ron Paul will not attend either.

Citing a “circus-like” atmosphere as their reason for declining, Paulson campaign issued this statement.

“The selection of a reality television personality to host a presidential debate that voters nationwide will be watching is beneath the office of the Presidency and flies in the face of that office’s history and dignity,” campaign chairman Jesse Benton said.

“Mr. Trump’s participation as moderator will distract from questions and answers concerning important issues such as the national economy, crushing federal government debt, the role of the federal government, foreign policy, and the like. To be sure, Mr. Trump’s participation will contribute to an unwanted circus-like atmosphere,” Benton continued.

“Mr. Trump’s selection is also wildly inappropriate because of his record of toying with the serious decision of whether to compete for our nation’s highest office, a decision he appeared to make frivolously. The short-lived elevation of Mr. Trump’s stature as a candidate put him on the radar of many organizations and we recall that last spring he was invited to keynote the Republican Party of Iowa’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner, yet at the last minute he left RPI holding the bag by canceling. In turn, RPI canceled its biggest fundraising gala of the year and suffered embarrassment and in addition RPI was required to engage in refunding measures.

Our candidate will not even consider participating in the late-December debate until Mr. Trump publicly apologizes to Iowa party leaders and rectifies in full the situation.

“Therefore our candidate Ron Paul, the champion of the Constitution, has advised he will not attend.

Two clowns out, what will the others do? Hope you haven’t already bought tickets to the show.

Ron Paul Snubbed From Next Jewish Hosted Republican Debate

They say Mr. Paul is too extreme in his thinking, so his invite to the next Republican debate on December 7th wasn’t even considered. “He’s just so far outside of the mainstream of the Republican party and this organization,” said Matt Brooks, Executive Director of the Republican Jewish Coalition. Brooks also said that inviting Paul to attend would be “like inviting Barack Obama to speak.”

The Republican Jewish Coalition is hosting a forum for our merry band of Republican presidential candidates next week. The contenders are expected to flesh out a broad range of opinions about Israel, its future, and its relationship with the United States. Oh, except for Ron Paul, who was not invited. It seems his “extreme views”—like how he would stop giving Israel a few billion dollars each year to purchase weapons from the American defense industry—would be too controversial even within the context of a debate of ideas.

PolitiFact Calls Mitt Romney’s Lie “Pants On Fire”

It’s a talking point used, not only by Mitt Romney, but also by Michele Bachmann, and really just about every other Republican in Congress. They just love repeating it over and over, like it cannot be checked for accuracy or something.

Well PolitiFact, the non-biased, non-partisan group, has taken it upon themselves to fact-check these politicians. At the last Republican presidential debate, Mitt Romney continued the usual talking point – “President Obama apologizes  for America.”

Fact-checking found this to be a lie. And not just any ol’ lie,  like a white lie or a fib. No, this one qualifies for a category PolitiFact calls a “Pants On Fire” lie.

Gingrich To Occupiers – Get A Job Right After You Take A Bath

In yet another example of Republicans  not understanding – or pretending not to understand – the struggles of the 99%, Newt Gingrich, the present leader among the Republicans trying to take on President Obama in 2012, blessed the American public, once again, with his expertise ignorance  on the Occupy Wall Street protesters.

He starts off with a lie, which was expected… he is Newt Gingrich. “All the Occupying Movements starts out with a premise that we owe them everything,” he said. He paused, and when the expected barrage of applause from the right winged crowd didn’t massage his ego enough, Gingrich continued;

They take over a public park they didn’t pay for, they go nearby to use bathrooms they didn’t pay for, to beg for food from places they didn’t pay for, to obstruct those going to work to pay their taxes to sustain the bathrooms and to sustain the park, so they can self-righteously explain that they are the paragons of virtue to which we owe everything.

Now that is a pretty good symptom of how much the left have collapse as a moral system in this country, and why you need to reassert something as simple as saying to them, ‘go get a job, right after you take a bath.’

Hearing the last line got Gingrich the kind of applause he craved.

However,  once again Newt, you’re wrong.

The 99% and the Occupiers are not concerned about what you have, nor do we want to take “everything” from you. What we do want is for you and your friends in the top 1% to stop taking everything from us. And over the last 30 years, since the Reagan Administration, taking from the poor to support the rich has been the Republicans’ modus operandi. It’s what they do.

And if Newt is correct in claiming that the Occupiers took over a public park  “they didn’t pay for,” then exactly who pays for this public park if not the taxpayers, the same 99% he despises? Newt and his Republican friends are grossly mistaken in their assumption that the 99% are  made up of dirty, uneducated and even unemployed people.

If Newt does become the Republican nominee, then he’d better keep in mind that the 99% are the ones who will be selecting the next president, and we’ll just assume he actually wants the presidency since he is campaigning. But knowing the character Newt is, we expect a flip-flop in the future. If he is the nominee, Gingrich will plead amnesia on this, and many other issues, that are getting him in hot, dirty water.

President Obama Disagrees With Republicans – “Waterboarding Is Torture”

Two of the Republicans who claim they’ve gotten a message from God to run for President, said in the last debate that they believed that waterboarding is not torture. Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain then went on to say that they would reinstate the practice if they won the presidency in 2012.

God cannot be happy with these two!…

Asked how he felt about what Bachmann and Cain said, President Obama responded that the two were “wrong,” about waterboarding. The President reiterated that the  practice was indeed “torture,” and stated that the use of it diminished the moral stance of the United States.

Saturday Night Live – Either The 7th or 8th Republican Debate…Whatever!

Saturday Night Live’s take on the Republican’s Debates, and candidates for the Republican nomination. Although they were making fun, the parallels to the real debates and candidates are stunning. Like when the audience cheered the monumental amount of executions in Rick Perry’s Texas, or when they cheered the death of a man without insurance in a hypothetical question posed by Wolf Blitzer of CNN. And those are just some of the extraordinary things said in their debates.

Although Saturday Night Live actors were making fun of the Republican candidates, they appear more sane than these actual candidates would ever be.

Ron Paul Knew The Man Who Died With No Health Care

The question Wolf Blitzer of CNN asked Republican presidential candidate, Ron Paul seemed hypothetical. But as fate would have it,  Paul knew how real the question was. In 2008 when he ran for president, one of his campaign chairman died at the age of 49, owing $400,000.00 in healthcare cost because he had no insurance when he died.

The question Mr. Blitzer asked Mr. Paul was what should happen to a young man who couldn’t afford health insurance, but finds himself in a hospital needing intensive care. Ron Paul began his answer, “…that’s what freedom is all about: taking your own risks. This whole idea that you have to take care of everybody…” at which point, members of the Teaparty audience began applauding. After Blitzer asked again if “society should just let him die,” members of the audience answered, “yeah!” and “let him die!”

His name was Kent Snyder, and the report was filed by Gawker;

Back in 2008, Kent Snyder — Paul’s former campaign chairman — died of complications from pneumonia. Like the man in Blitzer’s example, the 49-year-old Snyder (pictured) was relatively young and seemingly healthy* when the illness struck. He was also uninsured. When he died on June 26, 2008, two weeks after Paul withdrew his first bid for the presidency, his hospital costs amounted to $400,000. The bill was handed to Snyder’s surviving mother, who was incapable of paying. Friends launched a website to solicit donations.

And Ron Paul has an answer.

According to other answers Paul provided on this issue, he thinks that churches and other charitable organization should pick up the tab for those who cannot afford life saving health care. Although what happened to the Snyder family is unfortunate, maybe Mr. Paul should direct them to some of these churches.

After all, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Mr. Kent Snyder was the driving force behind Paul to run for President in 2008. The least Paul could do, would be to provide the names of the churches and charitable organizations that would handle the $400,000.00 hospital bill.

And while he’s at it, there’s another 45,000 Americans who die each year because they cannot afford health care. Why not provide them and their families with this information? Maybe Paul could publish the names of these churches on his website. That will help!

Rick Perry – Social Security Is a “Ponzi” Scheme That Must Be Saved

Rick Perry’s statements on any particular issue depends on what day it is. In 2010, the Texas governor and leader in the Republican field of Presidential wannabees for the 2012 election went on the Fox News Sunday program and said that social security is a “Ponzi scheme” and should be done away with.

“What I’m saying is that between Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, there’s $106 trillion of unfunded liabilities and not one dime saved to pay for them. My children who are in their 20’s know that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme.”

Rick Perry has used this definition on many other occasions since then. In another interview with The Daily Beast, Perry said that the three programs are “bankrupt,” and again, referred to them as a Ponzi schemes. He also blamed the Progressives for what he calls, the “deterioration of our Constitution,” and suggested that we should ” have a legitimate, honest, national discussion about Washington’s continuing to spend money we don’t have on programs that we don’t need.”

Then in the previous MSNBC Republican debate, Perry stuck to his guns, but this time, he added the word “monstrous,” to his definition of Social Security, saying;

“It is a monstrous lie. It is a Ponzi scheme to tell our kids that are 25 or 30 years old today, you’ve paid into a program that’s going to be there. Anybody that’s for the status quo with Social Security today is involved with a monstrous lie to our kids, and that’s not right.”

Then last night, after spending the last few days hearing the outrage his remarks caused, Perry decided that was enough and did a backtrack, flip-flop, moonwalk on the issue. All of a sudden, Social Security was no longer a program “we don’t need,” it became a program that “needs fixing.” One the Texas Republican governor believes in, and he attempted to assure the public of his new-found embrace of the program.

“The people who are on Social Security today need to understand something. Slam-dunk guaranteed, that program is going to be there in place for those individuals.”

And today, with more media coverage on Perry’s dumb statements, he felt the need to issue this statement, as reported by Politico;

“America’s Goal Must Be To Fix Social Security” So Americans “Really Can Count On [It] For The Long Haul.” “America’s goal must be to fix Social Security by making it more financially sound and sustainable for the long term… Americans must come together and agree to address the problems so today’s beneficiaries and tomorrow’s retirees really can count on Social Security for the long haul.” (Rick Perry, Op-Ed, “I Am Going To Be Honest With The American People.”

Rick Perry – someone who says whatever he thinks is necessary to win an election… sounds Republican to me!

Did Rick Perry Kill An Innocent Man?

During the recent Republican Presidential debate, Rick Perry was asked if he struggled to sleep at night with the idea that any one of the 234 death row inmates the state of Texas kills every year,  might have been innocent. Perry answered that the courts in Texas have a great record for quality convictions, so he had no problem ordering 234 executions over his 11 years as Governor.

“No sir, I’ve never struggled with that at all,” he said. “The state of Texas has a very thoughtful, a very clear process in place of which — when someone commits the most heinous of crimes against our citizens, they get a fair hearing, they go through an appellate process, they go up to the Supreme Court of the United States, if that’s required.”

“If you come into our state and you kill one of our children, you kill a police officer, you’re involved with another crime and you kill one of our citizens, you will face the ultimate justice in the State of Texas. And that is you will be executed.”

Exactly how sound is this ‘thoughtful and clear’ process in Texas anyway? Apparently, not so clear. In fact, it’s quite foggy.

Over the last 9 years of Perry’s 11 years in power, DNA evidence has exonerated 41 prisoners convicted in that thoughtful, clear Texas system. That’s 41 people who went to prison, and were later found innocent of a crime they had been convicted of.

And what’s even worse, in 2004,  Perry allowed the execution of a death row inmate named Cameron Todd Willingham. Mr Willingham was accused and convicted – using that thoughtful, clear process – of setting a fire that killed his three daughters. He was put to death, although evidence, scientists and forensics experts doubted the prosecution’s case against him. Rick Perry even went as far as shutting down an official investigation into the case and execution.

The fact that Rick Perry stopped the investigation is proof that valid questions about the execution were being asked, which would also suggest that maybe, just maybe an innocent man was killed under Perry’s watch. But why would Perry lose sleep over that? He is after all, a modern day Republican governor and doesn’t believe in all that scientific mumbo-jumbo, forensic-smorensic nonsense.
