At one time in our past, the depiction shown below would have caused some negativity and rightly so. But considering today’s Republicans, it is now entirely possible.
Republicans are already profiting from the deaths of the four Americans in Benghazi, so putting up a poster on Christopher Stevens’ tombstone saying “vote GOP” is within the realms of possibility. That is how far down the whole the Republicans have fallen.
There is no such thing as ‘bad publicity’ for a Republican, that’s why there is an anything goes mentality among their so-called leaders. They say the most outlandish and outrageous things, and they relish in the negative publicity they get.
In the wake of a botched lethal injection in Oklahoma last month, a Utah lawmaker says he believes a firing squad is a more humane form of execution. And he plans to bring back that option for criminals sentenced to death in his state.
Rep. Paul Ray, a Republican from the northern Utah city of Clearfield, plans to introduce his proposal during Utah’s next legislative session in January. Lawmakers in Wyoming and Missouri floated similar ideas this year, but both efforts stalled. Ray, however, may succeed. Utah already has a tradition of execution by firing squad, with five police officers using .30-caliber Winchester rifles to execute Ronnie Lee Gardner in 2010, the last execution by rifle to be held in the state.
Ray argues the controversial method may seem more palatable now, especially as states struggle to maneuver lawsuits and drug shortages that have complicated lethal injections.
“It sounds like the Wild West, but it’s probably the most humane way to kill somebody,” Ray said.
Utah eliminated execution by firing squad in 2004, citing the excessive media attention it gave inmates.
Well that was quick. It only took six years of lying and over 50 votes to repeal, for Republicans to realize that Obamacare ain’t going nowhere!
The New York Times reported on the comments made by Bill McInturff, a partner in Public Opinion Strategies, a Republican polling firm, at a conference for the American Association for Public Opinion Research in California.
“After the primaries, expect a shift in Republican candidates’ rhetoric against Obamacare,” McInturff said.
“Only few want to repeal the law; most want to fix and keep it,” he continued, likely referencing the consistent polling that has shown Americans would rather improve the law than repeal it.
He added that the law could still be a net negative for Democrats in 2014, but predicted the Republican shift because its approval numbers have improved in recent months
Erik Rush a frequent guest on your “news” channel Fox News, has said some dumb things in the past. And just when you think he couldn’t get any dumber, he goes on his radio show and insinuate that any gun reform will turn the country over to Islam. He then took it one step further, saying that one day you will wake up and realize that you’re a Muslim.
You think I’m making that up? Here is his exact quote.
Rush warned Americans, like others, may soon be “waking up and going, ‘holy crap, we’re all Muslims.’”
“They are trying to dilute, subvert and nullify our Second Amendment rights so we won’t have — we’ll have armed jihadis coming to our doors and we won’t be able to defend [ourselves],” he added.
The Republican haters who claim to be patriots but cannot stand the Constitution and the process laid out for electing a president, plan to march on Washington today with one goal in mind – to overthrow the democratically elected President of the United States of America.
The organizers say they expect somewhere between 10 to 30 million people to join their efforts to overthrow the president, and they warn that some will be “killed, wounded, incarcerated,” because the president they say, will not go peacefully.
“[I]t will be painful, and some people may die because the government will not be non-violent; some of us will end up in a cell, and some may be injured,” organizer Harry Riley said, fearing that “patriots may be killed, wounded, incarcerated” in their effort to overthrow Obama.
Words of wisdom. If you’re going to take part in this 30 million people march to overthrow Obama today, make sure you stay close to a porta potty. With 30 million people, the line for the bathroom may be a little long. At some point they’ll all have to go.
Republicans, these are your leaders.
Republican congressman Kerry Bentivolio is set to appear at a right-wing conference taking place May 16-18 with an activist who believes President Obama should be killed.
“The Freedom Summit: Prepare to Govern!,” organized by the Michigan Conservative Political Action Conference, is hosting the Michigan congressman along with Jim Garrow, a conservative conspiracy theorist who claims he used to be a US intelligence agent.
Other scheduled speakers include Paul Vallely, the former general who floated leading an anti-Obama “revolution”; RNC Committeeman Dave Agema, notorious for his anti-gay remarks; anti-Obama conspiracy theorist Trevor Loudon…
Garrow has appeared on several fringe media outlets to promote his claim that Obama plotted to kill 300 million people through a nuclear EMP attack on America, which he said was attempted at the behest of George Soros.
He even alleged that the Obama administration is preparing to launch a new anti-American plot with the help of aliens and Canadian troops, warning that Obama seeks “to wipe us out.”
Garrow has claimed that President Obama and administration officials are “guilty of treason” and therefore “you’re supposed to hang them.” “Obama himself has been a traitor and been involved in treason against the Republic, for which you know the penalty is death,” he said.
The poll conducted by Gallup finds that despite what Republicans would have us believe, Americans are not stupid. We know which party is looking out for us and which is looking out for the Koch brothers.
Americans view the Democratic Party more favorably than the Republican Party, even though both parties have a net unfavorable rating. Democratic Party favorable ratings have held steady since last June, while Republican favorables have increased slightly from their all-time low last year. Still, if the Republicans’ current favorability ratings hold, they will be the lowest ever for either party in an election year.
In an exclusive statement to The Associated Press, Jay Z, Beyonce and apparently Solange, have all agreed to put the infamous elevator incident behind them and move on.
“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it,” the statement said. “Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
The statement continued;
“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false,” the statement continued. “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”
The Michael Sam kiss heard around the world happened last week, but the remnants are still making people walk off their live television set! What? You haven’t walked off your television set yet?
Well Meet Amy Kushnir, a co-host of the morning show “The Broadcast.” In a recent show, the cast got into a discussion about Michael Sam and the kiss he shared with his boyfriend after being told that he was selected to play football in the NFL. After a heated back and forth with the other co-hosts of the program, Amy couldn’t take it anymore and left the set bringing an abrupt end to the discussion.
Yep. You heard that right. Condoleezza Rice, one of the main authors of this country’s biggest foreign policy failures, falsifying information to start a war in Iraq where hundreds of thousands of people were killed, has the nerve to talk about Benghazi, and insinuated that there might be a cover-up by the Obama administration.
In an interview with Ozy.com published Thursday, Rice said the public still has questions about the security situation in the lead-up to the attacks and the circumstances on the ground during the attacks.
“I think there are unanswered questions and they could be easily answered. But I think they need to be answered,” Rice said.
Rice, who was the nation’s chief diplomat during the administration of George W. Bush, expressed optimism that the committee House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) recently tasked with investigating the September 2012 attacks on diplomatic outposts could answer the outstanding questions.
“When the House says that it wishes to investigate something, it has a right to do that. And so I think done in the right way with the right cooperation we can put this to rest and that’s how I would handle it at this point,” she said.
