Following his meeting with Texas Governor Rick Perry, President Obama issued a statement saying that there are no real differences between what he an Perry wants in regards to the border security and immigration issues in South Texas. The President stated that the real stumbling block is getting Congress to act on getting things done.
“The problem here is not a major disagreement around the actions that could be helpful in dealing with the problem. The challenge is, is Congress willing to act to get this done,” the president told reporters. “The question is are we more interested in politics or are we more interested in solving the problem.”
The president urged Republicans to put politics aside and act on his request for $3.7 in emergency funding to cope with the influx of unaccompanied minors flooding across the border.
“Congress has the ability to work with all parties involved to directly help this solution,” Obama said. “This supplemental offers them the ability to work immediately to get this done.”
President Obama invited Rick Perry to meet him at the airport in Austin Texas, but Perry apparently had better things to do. Politicking.
In his refusal letter to the administration, Perry pointed out that he didn’t want a “quick handshake,” but instead, wants a “substantive meeting” to discuss the immigration issues in South Texas.
“I appreciate the offer to greet you at Austin-Bergstrom Airport, but a quick handshake on the tarmac will not allow for a thoughtful discussion regarding the humanitarian and national security crises enveloping the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas,” Perry wrote in a letter on Monday to the president, according to the Austin American-Statesman. “I would instead offer to meet with you at any time during your visit to Texas for a substantive meeting to discuss this critical issue. With the appropriate notice, I am willing to change my schedule to facilitate this request.”
This refusal to meet the president regardless of the reasoning will play beautifully in the conservative arena. And especially since Perry is considering a run for the White House in 2016, his diss of the president is sure to attract a few more votes.
President Obama called and congratulated the US Soccer team on their performance in this year’s World Cup. He spoke to team captain Clint Dempsey and goal keeper Tim Howard.
“I just wanted to call and say you guys did us proud,” Obama told the players. “To see the way you guys captured the hearts and imaginations of the whole country is unbelievable.”
“Clint, you were fantastic. And Tim, I don’t how you’re gonna survive the mobs when you come back home, man,” he joked. “You’re gonna have to shave your beard so they don’t know who you are.”
The USA Team lost to Belgium with a score of 2 goals to 1. In the defeat, goalie Tim Howard set a new world cup record with 16 saves.
President Obama continued calling out the no-good, non-working Republican Party in Congress. This time, correctly blaming them for not doing anything to improve our crumbling infrastructure.
“I haven’t heard a good reason for why they haven’t acted,” Obama said of the lawmakers in a speech in front of the Key Bridge, which connects Washington to Arlington, Virginia. “It’s not like they’re busy with other stuff.”
The president once again stood his grounds in reference to using his constitutionally awarded executive order authority, and he dared Boehner to go through with his lawsuit.
“As long as they’re doing nothing, I’m not going to apologize for doing something,” Obama said. He added, “So sue me.”
I guess Boehner and his Republican followers will add this to their lawsuit against the President. They’re not doing anything, so they’re upset that the President is. Today, our fearless leader ventured out on the White House lawn and told the world the hell with Republicans and their proposed lawsuit. If Congress fails to do what the constitution demands, then he will!
Rebekah, a mom from Minnesota, wrote the president to express the difficulties she is experiencing these days providing for her family. Realizing that Rebekah’s story is not unique, but one that is being told throughout this country, the president decided to spend a day in the life of Rebekah.
This is the first in a series of “day in the life” trips the President will be taking over the course of the summer — an opportunity to communicate directly with the people he’s working for every day.
Republicans make this too easy. When they dispute the undisputed scientific fact that climate change is happening and that humanity is actively contributing to that change, then yes, making fun or mocking their ignorance is totally too easy!
Speaking today in front of The League of Conservation Voters, the President pointed out the stupidity of the climate change deniers.
“In Congress, folks will tell you climate change is hoax or a fad or a plot. A liberal plot,” the President said. “They say, hey, I’m not a scientist, which really translates into, I accept that man-made climate change is real, but if I say so out loud, I will be run out of town by a bunch of fringe elements that thinks climate science is a liberal plot so I’m going to just pretend like, I don’t know, I can’t read.”
He goes on…
“I mean, I’m not a scientist either, but I’ve got this guy, John Holdren, he’s a scientist. I’ve got a bunch of scientists at NASA and I’ve got a bunch of scientists at EPA.”
“I’m not a doctor either, but if a bunch of doctors tell me that tobacco can cause lung cancer, then I’ll say, okay. Right? I mean, it’s not that hard.”
What the hell for I hear you screaming as you scratch your head in confusion and disgust! Well you’re not alone. I had the very same reaction after I heard this news and now after reading the full account of Boehner’s intended lawsuit, I am still confused… and disgusted at the utter partisan nonsense these people are intentionally dragging this country through.
Boehner plans to sue Obama because Obama is acting like a president, and is doing the exact same thing other presidents before him have done. Boehner’s beef? He claims Obama is using Executive actions and so, must be sued… because… FREEDOM!
“I am,” the Speaker said when asked if he was planning to initiate a lawsuit.
“You know the constitution makes it clear that the president’s job is to faithfully execute the laws and in my view the President has not faithfully executed the laws,” Boehner added at a news conference on Capitol Hill.
The Speaker denied that the move was about energizing Republicans ahead the midterm elections.
“This is about defending the institution in which we serve. If you look back over the past 235 years of our history there’s been movement between the inherent powers of the executive branch vs the inherent powers of the legislative branch and what we’ve seen clearly over the past 5 years is an effort to erode the power of the legislative branch,” the Speaker said in response to a question from CNN.
Yea, sue the president for being presidential. Only the mush of a Republican brain can come up with this… mush!
Republicans continue beating the impeachment drums because the guy in the White House is actually getting things done.
The South Dakota Republican Party passed a resolution at its state convention Saturday calling for the impeachment of President Obama, according to The Sioux Falls Argus Leader.
“Therefore, be it resolved that the South Dakota Republican Party calls on our U.S. Representatives to initiate impeachment proceedings against the president of the United States,” the resolution reads.
The resolution accused Obama of violating “his oath of office in numerous ways,” and mentions the recent trade of five Taliban members for captive U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl, among other issues.
Delegates voted 191-176 in favor of the resolution.
“I’ve got a thick book on impeachable offenses of the president,” resolution sponsor Allen Unruh told the Argus Leader.
I call the participants of this poll uninformed because the media is obviously not doing their jobs. When the liars are the ones being sort after to talk about the president, and their lies go unchallenged, then the masses are left with nothing but lies, misinformation and propaganda on their televisions.
Under President Obama’s leadership, Osama Bin Laden is dead, more terrorists have been captured or killed under the President’s watch than in other administrations, he has overseen the end of the war in Iraq and is presently ending the war in Afghanistan, he facilitated the overthrow of a ruthless dictator in Libya without putting any American troops on the ground, the recent capture of the mastermind of the Benghazi attacks, his leadership has caused Syria to agree to giving up their weapons of mass destruction and in-spite of what Republicans say, the world’s view of America has improved instead of the shoe throwing days of George Bush. And those are just some of the foreign policy accomplishments we have achieved under this administration. But you would never know any of these things watching today’s so-called “news” stations.
And that’s a very sad state for this country. The ones who get the spotlight are the ones that lie, they are the ones that mislead and fabricate information about the President. They are the ones who get the spotlight. Heck, they even have an entire network dedicated to bringing the misinformation to the masses!
So with all the misinformation in our media today, is it any surprise that this poll finds Americans are not liking Obama right now?
Just 37 percent approve of his handling of foreign policy, which is an all-time low in the survey, while 57 percent disapprove, an all-time high.
What’s more, by a 44 percent-to-30 percent margin, Americans disagree with the Obama administration’s decision to secure the release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for five imprisoned Taliban fighters.
And respondents are evenly divided if the details of Bergdahl’s disappearance from his base in Afghanistan matter in the U.S. decision to secure his release: 47 percent say the details matter, while 46 percent say they don’t.
President Obama’s overall approval rating in the poll is at 41 percent, down three points from April. That’s tied for his all-time low in the survey.
And his favorable-unfavorable rating is upside down (41 percent-45 percent) after being right-side up two months ago (44 percent-41 percent).
Perhaps most troubling for the president, 54 percent think he is unable to lead the country and get the job done, compared with 42 percent who believe he can.
Back in January, Glenn Beck saw the light and admitted that he played a role in “tearing the country apart” with his lies and misinformation.
“I think I played a role, unfortunately, in helping tear the country apart and it’s not who we are,” Beck said, as he spoke to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly. He continued, “I didn’t realize how really fragile the people were. I thought we were kind of more in it together and now I look back and realize, if we could’ve talked about the uniting principles instead of just the problems, I think I would look back more fondly.”
Well, that was then. Almost immediately after coming to terms with his destructive ways, Beck went to grabbing his part of the fragile fabric that makes up this nation and he continued to pull, ripping and tearing the country apart.
His most recent lie was telling his faithful followers that President Obama is getting ready to put Conservatives in Internment camps. Beck warned that the President and his policies are falling apart because of all the issues Obama is dealing with. Calling Obama a “spoiled child” Beck said that it is only a matter of time before the President gathers up all the conservatives and lock them away like the days of Hitler’s Germany!
