Republicans Pledge Their Allegiance to Donald Trump Over Republican Party

Party/Shmarty/Whatever!

Republicans have drawn the line and the line has nothing to do with party. It has everything to do with Donald Trump. In a new poll, Republicans say they are prepared to buck the Republican party and are pledging their allegiance to Donald Trump, promising to vote for the man if he drops the Republican banner and run as an independent.

The nationwide survey, taken Wednesday through Sunday, finds a trio of Republican candidates who show emerging national strength — Trump, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio — as other once-serious contenders struggle for traction.

And in a chilling sign for Republicans, 68% of Trump’s supporters say they would vote for the blustery billionaire businessman if he ran as an independent rather than a Republican; just 18% say they wouldn’t. The rest were undecided.

Among Democrats, former secretary of State Hillary Clinton has widened her lead over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders to nearly 2-1, 56%-29%.

The poll of 1,000 likely voters was taken before the latest Trump firestorm, this time over his statement Monday calling for a “complete and total shutdown” on all Muslims entering the United States until concerns about terrorism can be addressed. In TV interviews Tuesday morning, he refused to back down in the face of criticism not only by Democrats but also some leading Republicans.

Mitt Romney Signs Voter Registration Form as an ‘Independent’

There goes Mitt Romney again.

Mitt Romney, whose name keeps popping up as a possible three-time presidential candidate, would be wise to read legally binding documents before signing them, as demonstrated by a Utah voter-registration gaffe that appeared to have him shunning his Republican Party for independent status and using a home address he couldn’t legally claim since 2009.

The suspect voter-registration form popped up in Summit County, where County Clerk Kent Jones provided it Thursday to The Salt Lake Tribune in response to a public-records request.

A copy of the form shows Romney’s signature with his old address listed in two places beside warnings that providing false information on the registration document is a misdemeanor violation of Utah law.

It turns out Romney, who is moving to Utah as a full-time resident, strolled into a driver license office in late August to obtain his Utah license and filled out paperwork to register to vote at his under-construction home in Holladay, a suburb of Salt Lake City. But, apparently because of outdated information in the agency’s database, the pre-printed form listed Romney’s former Park City address on Rising Star Lane and with no party affiliation. Romney signed it.

The Bush Daughters Are Not Registered Republicans

The New York Daily News checked the status of the daughters of former Republican president George W. Bush and found that their party registration do not say “Republican.”

Jenna, who registered in New York soon after her daughter was born is registered with the Independence Party and her twin sister is registered in Texas as an Independent.

The News reports that Jenna’s registration was actually a mistake, that her intention was to register as an independent, but signed up for the Independence Party instead. According to a spokesperson for Jenna Bush, the mistake was due to “very little sleep. ”

“Jenna registered to vote in New York soon after her daughter was born, and like all new moms, she was functioning on very little sleep. She mistakenly registered for the Independence Party,” said Megan Kopf Stackhouse, a spokeswoman for the former President’s daughter.

Don’t worry ladies, I know that being a Republican these days is not what it used to be. And I actually commend you both for realizing that fact and choosing not to be affiliated with the party your father once led.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s better to mistakenly be a member of the Independence Party than to intentionally be a Republican.

Republicans Lose One Of Their Own – Racist Cliven Bundy Now an Independent

I think this is the Republicans’ way of re-branding their party – getting rid of the racists… but, who will be left after all the racists are gone?

LAS VEGAS — Southern Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy no longer is a Republican. Bundy, who is embroiled in a dispute over grazing with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, has switched his affiliation to the Independent American Party.
He and his wife, Carol, signed registration forms to the cheers of supporters at an Independent American Party gathering in Las Vegas on Friday night.

The event was held to honor Bundy for what organizers called “his courage in standing up for state sovereignty.”

Rhode Island Independent Governor to Switch To Democratic Party

Just like a politician. Chances of reelection are not looking good for Chafee as an Independent, so the once Republican will now switch to the Democrats.

Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee (I) intends to run for reelection as a Democrat, according to two people familiar with his decision, a move that suggests that the first-term governor does not see a path to reelection as an independent.

Chafee, a former Republican senator, won the governorship in 2010 in a competitive three-way race. His prospects for a second term have looked dim, as polling shows his numbers are downright bad. Chafee’s made no secret about the fact that he has been considering switching to the Democratic Party. His decision signals that he believes his best chance for survival is competing in what is expected to be a competitive Democratic primary.

Chafee is expected to announce his decision shortly, possibly as soon as this week, the people familiar with his decision say.

The Desire To Be Independent

Last night I drove my friend Kim and her sister home and got into one of the most interesting conversations I’ve had in quite a long time. Kim believes her boyfriend needs to become more independent from his parents as she sees them as still treating him as if he is a young kid, he is actually nineteen. He recently got a good paying job and she says that he is on his way and hopefully will become less dependent on his parents. Her sister on the other hand says that neither of them are ready to be fully independent; she brought up very good points seeing that both live under their roofs of their respected parents still and a part time job will never even pay half of any bill. Her final thoughts on the matter were “You’re both not ready to be independent , nobody is forcing you to do so. Ya both can still ask your parents for whatever you want unlike when you’re older. You need to enjoy that luxury while you still can.”

The most expensive thing I ever bought with my own money, I did feel quite accomplished to do so

Going through middle and high school I was always labeled as the “rich kid” and I tried so hard to shake that false nickname. That goal coupled with just growing up can explain why I desire to be seen or at least try to be independent and make my own way. I can’t even remember the last time I asked for a gift, birthday or even Christmas, on top of that fact nights I go out with friends I always turn down any money my parents want to give me. I’ve gotten into the habit of “If I can’t afford it, I don’t buy it.” It seems to be quite a good motto to live by. My desire to be independent is fueled by my pride, I feel that relying on my parents when I’m eighteen isn’t something I should be doing.

Looking around at my group of friends most of them go to school full time and a handful have a job on the side. Of course thanks to scholarships and loans that money earned from a job is mostly used for leisurely purposes and rarely saved or invested. On the other hand though, most of them want to make it on their own as well and really just grow up and be dependent on no one by themselves. It’s safe to assume that all of us teenagers want to be independent.

Perhaps though, my friend’s sister is completely right. Perhaps none of us teens are really one hundred percent ready to make it on our own just yet. We still live under our parents roofs and I can’t say I know any of my friends who pay all of their own bills by themselves. We still have the luxury of being helped by our parents and it really is something we should enjoy and not brush aside. I guess my desire to be fully independent can be put on hold for at least another year or two.

Meghan McCain To The Republican Party – Change, Or I’m Leaving You

While her father John McCain continues his fruitless partisan attacks on the Obama administration, Meghan McCain is quietly making news calling for drastic changes in the Republican party especially around social issues. And if the party remains the same boring old party stuck in the ice age, the daughter of the 2008 Republican presidential candidate is threatening to pack all her stuff and leave the party!

She writes:

“… I’ve been calling for the Republican Party to come to terms with reality and modernize. Last Tuesday, Mitt Romney lost—and he lost big. As Republicans, we lost again. I felt sad, exhausted, beaten down, and heartbroken. It was the first time that I considered that the Republican Party, which I love so much, might die.”

“Times are changing. The face of America is changing and we as Republicans stand at a crossroads. Are we going to accept the changing face of America and change with it? Or are we going to continue to become more isolated and irrelevant? It’s possible to maintain the core values of this party and evolve when it comes to social issues. Quite frankly, I don’t see any other path to success.”

“I’ve spent most of my adult life fighting for change from inside the Republican Party… And if we don’t move forward, adapt, and become relevant again, the Republican Party isn’t going to survive. It will just continue to alienate more moderate voters like myself. If I don’t see some changes in the next four years, I’m going to consider registering as an Independent in 2016.”

Scott Brown Sheds His Republican Skin – Is He Now An Independent?

Embroiled in a massive battle in Massachusetts against Democratic favored Elizabeth Warren, Republican Scott Brown seems to be shedding his Republican skin and has adorned himself in the Independent banner. Hey Everyone, Look Over Here… It’s Donald Trump… Again!

The pressure to try to stay relevent is suffocating Donald Trump. Out of nowhere and with absolutely no relevance to anything anyone cares about, Donald Trump decided to give yet another interview, talking about… what else, that he is the only one that can save America, and if the GOP can’t get their act right, he will just have to save us all by running as an independent.

The interview, for what it’s worth, was shown on Sunday on CBS News program Face The Nation with Bob Schieffer. Be quite folks, Trump has something very important to say;

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” said The Donald. “It’s Republican against Republican, and yet the level of hatred, I guess you could say, I mean, there’s no other word for it, is unbelievable. The question is, are they hurting themselves? Are they hurting the party? Are they hurting the Republicans, and are they hurting their chances of winning an election against Barack Obama? And probably the answer is yes.

“I don’t see a person that, number one, is going to win,” he said, he may be forced to mount his own campaign.”I think people dislike the Republicans and the Democrats more than they ever have. So I actually think the right Independent could win, and there was a poll about a month ago, you saw it, where I was the number one Independent choice.

“It’s a very sad situation what’s happening to the country and I do say that and I say many other things and somehow it resonates with a lot of people and that’s why they, you know, would like me to run… I hope I don’t have to, but I may absolutely.”

Viewership for The Apprentice must be low.

Donald Trump Throws Republicans Under The Bus. He’s Now An Independent

Just what the Independents need, a self absorbed, narcissistic, lunatic who refuses to come to terms with the fact that no one cares about him… except PETA, as they continue their never-ending quest to free that animal on his head.

NEW YORK — Billionaire businessman Donald Trump has changed his voter registration in New York state from Republican to unaffiliated to preserve his option of running for president as an independent.

Michael Cohen, special counsel to Trump, said Friday that Trump could enter the race if Republicans fail to nominate a candidate who the real estate mogul believes can defeat President Barack Obama.

Cohen told to NBC News that Trump would consider his position “after the finale of ‘The Apprentice’ in May of 2012 if he is not satisfied with the Republican nominee for president.”

If Independents know what’s best for them and their cause, they will call the exterminator and get this parasite out from within their ranks and back into the Republican party where he belongs!
