Long Island Firefighter Dies 4 Days After Fire

Inwood (Long Island) Firefighter, Joseph Sanford Jr. won’t be where he belongs this Christmas. His family will miss him dearly.

The 17 year department veteran succumbed to his injuries sustained in a house fire 5 days ago in Inwood. Sanford was helping to battle a blaze in the house. He was standing in the kitchen of the home when the floor gave out from under him. He was unaccounted for for several minutes before his dept. brothers found him in the basement. He fought for his life for (4) days but ultimately passed away yesterday.

Sanford is survived by his wife and daughter but his family went way beyond those who were related to him, as many firefighters are feeling the pain caused by his loss.

His loved ones have started a gofundme.com page to raise money for his wife and daughter in their time of need.

Sanford was 43 years old.

It’s always sad when these things happen but when it happens during the holiday season, it seems to be particularly harder to handle. This EZKOOL writer has already donated to the Sanford family and I ask that you do too.

FF Joseph Sanford Jr

Any amount will help. If you find that you cannot afford to donate, that’s okay too. Please just share Joseph’s story on social media.

Thank You and Merry Christmas from all of us here at Ezkool.com

Mike Brown Memorial Destroyed by Fire – Video

Police speculate candles are the cause of a fire that destroyed a Michael Brown memorial on Canfield Drive Tuesday morning, KMOV reports.

The memorial, created in the days after Brown was fatally shot on Aug. 9 by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, is feet away from where Brown died.

A News 4 photographer on the scene said firefighters used extinguishers, not hoses, to control the flames.

Shortly after the fire was put out, people in the area began to rebuild the memorial using stuffed animals.

No other details were available.

Twerking And Fire Don’t Mix – Don’t Believe Me? Ask Her… – Video

Apparently, this girl did not read Miley Cyrus’  Twerking for Dummies handbook. If she had, she would have realized that there are rules to this thing.

Rule #1 –  Do not next to candles.
Rule #2 – If you Twerk next to candles, you may get burn
Rule #3 – If you get burn, drop, roll and twerk some more.

In other words, do not do what this girl did.

Earth, Wind & Fire Album, ‘Now, Then & Forever,’ Set For Sept. 10

NEW YORK — Earth, Wind and Fire initially wanted to release its new album around the 2012 presidential election, but the band realized it wasn’t satisfied with the songs it created.

“We have a lot more bells and whistles in place now and the record is better,” singer Philip Bailey said in a recent interview.

“Now, Then & Forever,” the group’s first album in eight years, will be released Sept. 10. Bailey said the band called co-founding member Larry Dunn and others to help produce its latest sound.

Your iPhone Overheating? You’re Not Alone

A woman says the battery in her iPhone suddenly overheated this week, oozing a dark liquid and destroying the phone. Apple, however, is refusing to replace the phone, according to its owner, Shibani Bhujle, a marketing manager in New York.

It’s not the first report of iPhone batteries overheating, though the incidents appear to be rare and have also affected other cellphones. In 2011, an iPhone 4 turned red hot and began emitting dense smoke in the cabin of a commercial flight in Australia; no one was injured. Last year, Samsung said it would investigate a reportof its Galaxy S III bursting into flames in Ireland. And also last year, a Motorola Droid Bionic was said to have caught fire in its owner’s pants.

In Bhujle’s case, her iPhone 4S was sitting on her coffee table on Monday, Jan. 28, when the phone’s display unexpectedly turned on and then off. “Within a minute, there was a very strong smell—it smelled like something was burning,” she told Quartz in an interview today. “I picked up my phone and it was very, very hot. It wouldn’t turn on. In the following minute. I couldn’t hold it because it was too hot to touch. I was panicking. I expected it to explode or something.”

Listen Carefully – He’s Actually Describing His Neighbor’s House Fire

I’m not sure which, but this video proves one of two things. Either this man is on something, or I am on something. That’s why I’m not understanding what he’s talking about.

What does “It all went to Hades” mean?

Mitt Romney – I Like Firing People

No matter how much he tries, Willard Romney will never be able to hide who he really is. He often boast about living his life in the private sector, and based on what we know about his time at Bain Capital, there are a lot of Americans who lost their jobs because of Willard’s actions.

Today, Willard made a statement that brought a certain unease to the working middle class. “I like being able to fire people who provide services to me,” Romney was heard saying, as he addressed the Chamber of Commerce.

For context, Romney was talking about the freedom of “firing” or chosing one insurance provider over another based on his preference. But the firing statement should never be used when it’s coming from a man who built his personal wealth acquiring smaller business and shipping Americans jobs overseas for cheaper labor. And such a statement should never be used when coming from a man who holds the dubious distinction of being number 47 (out of 50) in job creation when he was governor of the state of Massachusetts.

Georgia Businessman Says No More Hires Until President Is Fired

Although companies have already made trillions in profits under the Obama administration – the fastest accumulation of wealth in decades –  and although companies have already received over 17 tax cuts and subsidies over the last three years, there are still some “businesse owners” out there who buy into the Republican talking-point that businesses are suffering because of Obama.

Bill Looman, owner of U.S. Cranes LLC, said he is fed up with the bad economy and D.C. politicians who do nothing to solve the problem. So until there is a change of leadership, his company trucks will bear the message: “New Company Policy: We Are Not Hiring Until Obama Is Gone.”

“Can’t afford it,” Looman told the local Waco, Ga., television stationWXIA-TV. “I’ve got people that I want to hire now, but I just can’t afford it. And I don’t foresee that I’ll be able to afford it unless some things change in D.C.”

If a climate favorable to businesses cannot influence a businessman to hire, then maybe he should not be in business. Maybe they should shut down their operation and join politics. In Mr. Bill Looman’s case, he’ll fit right in with the do-nothing-to-help-the-economy Republicans.

Rick Perry Accepts Federal Emergency Help From President Obama

Information released today by the White House suggests that President Obama and Texas Governor Rick Perry recently had a telephone conversation, where the President offered FEMA’s help to the people of Texas affected by the wild fires. According to the news release;

Today the President called Texas Governor Rick Perry to express his concern for citizens of Texas impacted by the unprecedented fires.

During the call the President extended his condolences for the lives that have been lost as a result of these events, and made clear that the federal government, through DHS/FEMA and the U.S. Forest Service, will continue to make federal assistance available to state and local officials as they fight the fires.

The President also assured the Governor that requests for additional assistance, including as recovery begins, would be quickly assessed.

Following the call, the President directed his national security staff to continue to work closely with FEMA, the Forest Service and the State of Texas to ensure we were making all resources available.

Over the last several days, at the request of the Governor, the Administration has granted eight Fire Management Assistance Grants, making federal funds available to reimburse eligible costs associated with efforts to combat the fires.

FEMA is actively working with state and local officials to conduct damage assessments and to identify areas where additional federal assistance may be warranted.

This, after all the times Rick Perry has denounced the very existence of FEMA, and his many times promising to end the Federal Emergency Program. This dude is simply unbelievable.
