More Teaparty/Republican Racism – African Americans and Welfare

They call themselves members of the Teaparty. The group believes that they are paying too much taxes and that government spending is out of control.  The group stayed quiet when George Bush took a surplus and turned it into a deficit. Their silence showed that the Teaparty is not really a trustworthy bunch, but more of a political group – easily identifying themselves with the Republican ideology.

The group magically emerged in the Obama presidency – a presidency that has reduced taxes and spending to lower levels than recent Republican administrations. Bankrolled by right-winged businessmen and political figures, the Teaparty saw many of their members voted into Congress in the 2010 elections.

During the 2012 elections when the Teaparty took center stage in American politics, we all remember their many signs calling President Obama a Socialist, Communist American president who was also born in Kenya. And with these outlandish claims and a media led by the Fair and Balanced Fox News spending the entire election year covering various Teaparty Townhall uprising, the Teaparty’s message found favor with many voting Americans.

But the Teaparty is also plagued with blatant racists, some of which we have detailed here, here and here.  And now this:

The Baxter Bulletin in north-central Arkansas reported that Inge Marler made the comments at the annual rally of the Ozark Tea Party. The remarks, which suggested that African-Americans are on welfare, were condemned by Tea Party leaders in the state. The Bulletin reported that the condemnation came after they contacted the Tea Party for comment.

The Bulletin reports that Marler, who told the newspaper she would stop using the joke, said the following as an ice-breaker in her speech:

“A black kid asks his mom, ‘Mama, what’s a democracy?’“‘Well, son, that be when white folks work every day so us po’ folks can get all our benefits.’

“‘But mama, don’t the white folk get mad about that?’

“‘They sho do, son. They sho do. And that’s called racism.’”

House Representative Wears Hoodie on House Floor

“Racial profiling has to stop. Just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum.”

That was Democratic Representative Bobbie Rush of Illinois, as he took off his jacket on the House floor and revealed his hoodie. The representative then put on his sunglasses and quoted from the Bible as he was asked to leave the floor.

Black Right Winged Activist Accuse Blacks of Using Trayvon Martin Tragedy to Get Even with Whites

Kyle Mantyla writes: As we have noted several times in the past, Jesse Lee Peterson of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND) has carved out a very unique niche as a black right-wing activist who specializes in accusing Democrats, and especially black Democrats, of being racist while defending white people who are accused of racism.

Earlier this year, Peterson made news when he declared that he would like “to take all black people back to the South and put them on the plantation so they would understand the ethic of working.” So it comes as no surprise that Peterson has now decided to weigh in on the Trayvon Martin tragedy by declaring that the outrage over his death is not about justice but rather “about getting even with whites and gaining political power”:

“It’s hypocritical for so-called black ‘leaders’ to call for the prosecution of George Zimmerman and accuse the police of racism without knowing the facts. Black-on-black crime takes place every day. And blacks kill whites in far greater numbers than whites kill blacks. Yet, we only see these leaders and their hypnotized black followers worked up when a black is victimized by another race. This is racist and evil.

“Where were the NAACP, Al Sharpton, the Black Caucus and black ministers when black flash mobs were terrorizing the city of Philadelphia and attacking whites and others? It was so bad that Mayor Michael Nutter threatened to jail parents if they were not willing to get their thug children under control. In Kansas City, a 13-year-old white kid was attacked by two black teens who poured gasoline on him and set him on fire saying, ‘you get what you deserve, white boy.’ If these leaders were sincere, they would condemn crime across the board.

“I’ve said for the last 22 years that most black Americans are brainwashed. The recent actions of these black leaders and their followers are not about justice—it’s about getting even with whites and gaining political power. This is black hatred of white people and a result of more than fifty years of brainwashing by racist civil-rights leaders.

Right Winged-Nut Accuses Trayvon of “Stalking a Neighborhood on a Rainy Night.”

Republicans have managed to take a national tragedy and turn it into a something political. It began with the Glenn Beck show – saying things about Trayvon I refuse to list here in this forum – then the politics of the tragedy made its way on Fox News, when Geraldo Rivera blamed Trayvon for Trayvon’s murder.

Now, regular right-winged nuts on Twitter are jumping into the fray. They have scavenged the internet looking for anything they could come up with to paint a negative portrait of the victim in this heinous crime. Below is a tweet by John M. Patello, who mentioned messages against “the liberal media” in some of his tweets, and sent out this picture he claimed is of Trayvon Martin. Off to the right of the picture are the words;

… have you seen these pics? Probably not. They’re not selling any t-shirts with THESE pics from Trayvons Facebook on them. Now imagine Trayvon, dressed in a “hoodie” (a disguise), stalking a neighborhood on a rainy night.

Fox Network Blames Trayvon Martin for Trayvon Martin’s Murder

According to Geraldo Riveria of the Fox News Network, Trayvon Martin may still be alive today, had he worn different clothing the night he was murdered. The Fox employee equally blamed Martin’s hoodie for the killing, as he the killer, George Zimmerman.

“I believe,” he shared, “that George Zimmerman, the overzealous neighborhood watch captain, should be investigated to the fullest extent of the law and if he is criminally liable, he should be prosecuted. But I am urging the parents of black and Latino youngsters particularly to not let their children go out wearing hoodies. I think the hoodie is as much responsible for Trayvon Martin’s death as George Zimmerman was.”

Although there are many preconceived notions and misconceptions about blacks and other minorities, casting blame on the outfit of the 17 year old murder victim is part of the problem we face as a society. The problem is not our clothing – we take pride is considering ourselves a “free” country. The problem is ignorance and bigotry, and the apparent willingness by some – especially those in the media – to foster that ignorance.

Trayvon Martin wasnt killed because of a hoodie, he was killed because George Zimmerman thought he was better than Trayvon. George Zimmerman looked down on Trayvon and saw something he despised and it wasn’t a hoodie… it was a color… the color of Trayvon’s skin… black.

Republican Judge Sends Racist Email about President Obama

Different character,  same Ole racist line. This time around, in the say racist things about the president then deny you’re a racist game, the character is a judge appointed by George Bush.

His name is Chief U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull, and below is part of the email he admitted he sent.

“Normally I don’t send or forward a lot of these, but even by my standards, it was a bit touching. I want all of my friends to feel what I felt when I read this. Hope it touches your heart like it did mine.

“A little boy said to his mother; ‘Mommy, how come I’m black and you’re white?'” the email joke reads. “His mother replied, ‘Don’t even go there Barack! From what I can remember about that party, you’re lucky you don’t bark!'”

The judge eventually apologized to anyone he offended, but said he didn’t think the email was racist because it was meant to be private.

“It was not intended by me in any way to become public,” Cebull said. “I apologize to anybody who is offended by it.”

And the reason he sent the email?

“The only reason I can explain it to you is I am not a fan of our president, but this goes beyond not being a fan. I didn’t send it as racist, although that’s what it is.”

Hidden In Pete Hoekstra’s Web Ad, Race Was Injected

It’s your weekly dose of Republican racism.

By now, you’ve all probably heard about the Superbowl ad that Republican Pete Hoekstra ran in his home state of Michigan.

Hoekstra, running a campaign against Democratic senator Debbie Stabenow, used an ad of a “Chinese” actress, speaking broken english and invoking many of the stereotypes associated with the Chinese people. When asked about the obvious racial overtones in the ad, Hoekstra defended it, saying the ad contains nothing racial, and was meant to point out Mrs. Stabanie’s reckless spending.

“We knew we were taking an aggressive approach on this,” he said, “but this is a time where the people in Michigan and across the country are fed up with the spending, and we wanted to capture that frustration that they had with Washington, D.C. This ad … hits Debbie smack dab between the eyes on the issue where she is vulnerable with the voters of Michigan, and that is spending.”

Maybe Hoekstra is just ignorant to what is obvious to the rest of the nation, or maybe it was just poor judgment on his part. But thanks to the good folks over atTalking Points Memo, we now see that Hoekstra and his team knew the racial aspects of the ad, and they willingly contributed to it.

So what did Talking Points Memo find out?

It’s hidden in the programming language of the ad, a derogatory racial epithet used to describe Chinese people was found. The name “yellowgirl” was used to describe the “Chinese” actress Hoekstra used to deliver his message.

Coding from the ad.

img class=”yellowgirl” src=”https://s3…

Now again, Hoekstra could continue claiming this ad had nothing to do with race, but when you look at the coding in addition to the ad itself, it would seem that race is was the original intent, with messaging coming in second.

Gingrich Supporter Says Democrats “Abort Black Babies.”

Did you know that if you’re a Democrat and you just happen to be black, then you customarily abort your babies? What? You didn’t know this? Well have no fear, we have Newt Gingrich and his supporters to educate us on the things black people do.

This bit of ‘Knowledge’ comes from Rick Tyler, the black people expert who just happens to be in charge of a SuperPAC supporting Newt Gingrich.

TYLER: More people are on food stamps today because of Barack Obama, they fail in the schools, you can ask Al Sharpton, the Democrats have failed in the public schools with the African-Americans, they abort their babies, they’ve done nothing to lift them out of poverty.

98 percent of African-Americans vote Democrat, okay? What have they gotten for it? Poor schools, poor neighborhoods, crime-ridden neighborhoods, a destruction of the family, and the Democrats want to abort their babies. That’s their position. I’m not going to defend that.

Now I was about to tear into this imbecile, but then I found this tid-bit; Rick Tyler is a worm of a human being who will someday see his ugly heart strangle him in the mirror. But looking beyond his disgusting words, what really marks him as the liar he is are his ‘statistics’, which had the word “LIE!” stamped across everything spilling from his smarmy little mouth.

Co-workers Say Ron Paul Knew About Racist Newsletters

A few months ago, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, came under heavy criticism for a racially charged newsletters, produced under his name. Paul has denied any wrong doing, claiming that he knew didn’t write the articles and furthermore, didn’t know what was in them.

But people close to Mr. Paul are speaking out, and they are disagreeing with Paul’s recollection.

He was deeply involved in the company that produced the newsletters, Ron Paul & Associates, and closely monitored its operations, signing off on articles and speaking to staff members virtually every day.

“It was his newsletter, and it was under his name, so he always got to see the final product … He would proof it,’’ said Renae Hathway, a former secretary in Paul’s company and a supporter of the Texas congressman.

Why South Carolina Would Not Vote For Barack Obama – Is It Racism?

On this day when we honor d Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we are sadly reminded of an unfortunate fact, that here in America, there are still those who will base their opinions on the color of one’s skin, rather than the content of their character.

Today on MSNBC, the question was asked if the people in South Carolina would vote for Mitt Romney or for Barack Obama. Mr. Jimmy Williams, himself  born in South Carolina, tried to answer the question and in his answer, the ugly truth was revealed.

I think that Romney could eek out a win… I think South Carolinians would do something interesting, I think they would hold their noses because they hate Barack Obama so much. And I’ll tell you why they don’t like Barack Obama, because he’s black.

Happy Martin Luther King’s Day people… and welcome to 2012!

Teaparty Racism – Depicting President Obama As A Skunk

We’ve shown you previous examples where the Teaparty and some Republicans have stepped out of their secretive shell and have decided that bringing their racism out into the spotlight, will rally others to their call.

Today’s example? A Teaparty organization in Hutchinson Kansas called Patriot Freedom Alliance. This group of “patriots” decided that comparing the President of the United States to a skunk is the patriotic thing to do. They posted the comparison on their website, then after the expected backlash that apparently surprised the group, the depiction was removed from their website.

Here is the wisdom of these “Patriots” –

“The skunk has replaced the eagle as the new symbol for the President. It is half black, half white and everything it does, stinks.”

But the group is still defending the skunk anology. One Teaparty member,  Chuck Sankey,  said that Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, had been the target of worse insults than what’s on their website.

Well – thanks for your contribution “Patriots,” we are now a better nation because of your uplifting message.

The Barack Obama Presidency Proves Dad Was Right.

“Ezra,” Dad would say, “work hard, and work to the best of your ability. And be mindful of those who will willfully and intentionally put obstacles in your way. Their intent is your failure, and they will watch you fall then accuse you of being incapable of doing your job. So you must work even harder and you must work smarter, and in the end, the truth will come to light.”

Over the last three years, the election of Barack Obama as the President of the United States has proved many things, some good, some bad. But one thing his presidency will leave in the minds of the world is this: The job of a black man is always hard, but it is even more difficult when obstacles are willfully and intentionally put in his way with one objective in mind – to make sure he fails, then to accuse him of being incapable of doing the job.

My father told this to me on many occasions and at times, I thought he was just rambling off at what he thought was some form of injustice in the world. I heard him say it so many times, I even finished his sentences in my head. I felt as though I heard the same thing one time too many.

Dad wasn’t a radical man, in fact, he was a caring person who gave and gave often. He believed if you have the physical and/or mental capability to work, then you should, and you should do it to the best of your ability. But this is where his skepticism showed, because he would always warn about those forces that will try to undercut your ability, causing you to not be as productive as your true potential would allow.

I never really understood this, or maybe I chose not to. I was young and easily distracted by anything shiny. But as I grew older and matured, and began absorbing and observing the world around me, Dad’s words rang true in my ears, sometimes, too loud. In my own professional life, I can point to many occasions where Dad was right and I could randomly ask any black American and get life stories where they too felt as though their abilities were intentionally crushed and suppressed, far beyond its limit.

But nowhere are Dad’s words more true, than here and now. What we’re witnessing in the American political system, with the election of Mr. Barack Obama as the first black President of this great nation, is the willful and intentional effort by some – particularly those elected officials in the Republican party – to make sure this black President fails.

We’ve heard it all when they talk about Mr. Obama, “he doesn’t love America,” and the infamous, “he’s not one of us.” We’ve heard Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann described Obama’s presidency as “a gangster government.” All these and more are code words meant to portray a certain vision to the average American, but today, Republican Congressman Tom Coburn tossed the code words out the window when he attempted to answer an audience’s question about if he believes Obama wants to destroy America. Coburn answered;

“His intent isn’t to destroy. It’s to create dependency because it worked so well for him. I don’t say that critically. Look at people for what they are. Don’t assume ulterior motives. I don’t think he doesn’t love our country. I think he does.

“As an African American male, coming through the progress of everything he experienced, he got tremendous benefit through a lot of these programs. So he believes in them. I just don’t believe they work overall and in the long run they don’t help our country. But he doesn’t know that because his life experience is something different.

So it’s very important not to get mad at the man. And I understand, his philosophy — there’s nothing wrong with his philosophy other than it’s goofy and wrong [laughter] — but that doesn’t make him a bad person.”

The President has also been referred to as a “tar baby” and “your boy,” in addition to the countless racists emails, one showing the White House lawn filled with watermelons, and another Republican generated email showing a family of apes with Mr. Obama’s face super-imposed on a chimpanzee’s.

Tom Coburn and his fellow Congressional Republican officials have joined together and voted against every policy initiative President Obama tried to implement. They’ve even voted against bills they originally wrote, just because President Obama began supporting those bills. And in the process of creating these obstacles for this particular president, Republicans are successfully dismantling the American economy, and they’re casting blame on the President on a daily basis.

Of course, the opposing party will always strive to gain control of the White House, and they would say and do almost anything to achieve that goal. But when the race of the occupant of the White House plays into your political decision making processes and you willfully and intentionally create unnecessary obstacles with the intent to ensure that the incumbent president’s administration is a  failure, then you’ve just proved my Dad was right, and in this case, that’s an unfortunate claim for me to make.
