Sarah Palin’s Victory Lap – Responds to Fox News After Martin Bashir Resigns

The woman who Martin Bashir described as “America’s dunce” went to the safe confines of Fox News and commented about Bashir’s resegnation from MSNBC. Palin, who usually have too many words coming out of her mouth before her brain actually formulate the thought, was true to form today when asked about Bashir’s resignation.

“My role is to accept his apology and be humble enough to accept it and move on,” Sarah said. “But I just hope that unprovoked attacked like that don’t result in people being hesitant to jump in the arena anyway. To get out there and serve the public or start a business or commit themselves to changing within their family their community their world doing whatever that they can despite the fact that in this world you are gonna be hurt and attacks will come your way. I don’t I just hope that an attack like that doesn’t make people hesitate.”

Egged on by the hosts at Fox News to comment on why MSNBC didn’t fire Bashir instead of allowing him to resign, Palin stated that she was indeed happy that the same “lame stream media” she attack every chance she gets, came to her rescue.

Well it was refreshing to see though that many in the media did come out and say ‘look our standards have got to be higher than this.’ Those with that platform with a microphone a camera in their face they’ve got to have more responsibility taken.

The entire interview felt like a victory lap for those sitting on the Fox News set, as Palin took the bigger person role in a battle she quite frankly started.

Back in early November, Palin equated the national debt to “slavery,” proving that she knew nothing about slavery or what the slaves actually lived through. Martin Bashir tried to educate Mrs Palin, by quoting life stories from a diary of a slave owner. Bashir’s goal was to show Palin that if she really had any idea what slaves lived through, she would not have made such a dumb comparison.

Because of some of the words Bashir used to paint a real slavery picture for Palin, he ended up apologizing a few days later. Yesterday, he sent in his resignation to the bosses at MSNBC.

MSNBC’s Martin Bashir Apologizes to Sarah Palin For Slavery Remark – Video

And that is the problem with liberals. We are quick to apologise, even when we are correct.

On Friday, Martin Bashir responded to a Sarah Palin statement that compared America’s deficit to slavery. Sarah Palin obviously knows nothing about slavery or the unthinkable things that happened to the human beings who suffered and died in its name. So on Friday, Martin Bashir tried to educate Palin on some of the experiences slaves went through, and suggested that if she had any experience even remotely close to what the slaves suffered, she would not be throwing around the “slavery” analogy so easily.

But on Monday, Martin offered an apology, calling his Friday’s segment “wholly unacceptable.”

“Last Friday, on this broadcast, I made some comments which were deeply offensive and directed at Governor Sarah Palin. I wanted to take this opportunity to say sorry to Mrs. Palin, and to also offer an unreserved apology to her friends and family, her supporters, our viewers, and anyone who may have heard what I said. My words were wholly unacceptable. They were neither accurate, nor fair. They were unworthy of anyone who would claim to have an interest in politics, and they have brought shame upon my friends and colleagues at this network, none of whom were responsible for the things that I said.”

“In the battle of ideas, America leads the world in whole-hearted discussions and disagreements, and these arguments can be heard on a daily basis. But what I did on Friday had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with that great tradition, and I am deeply sorry. Upon reflection, I so wish that I had been more thoughtful, more considerate, more compassionate. but I was not. And what I said is now a matter of public record.”

“But if I could add something to the public record, it would be this: That I deeply regret what I said, and that I have learned a sober lesson in these last few days. That the politics of vitriol and destruction is a miserable place to be, and a miserable person to become. And I promise that I will take the opportunity to learn from this experience. My hope is that it will renew in me a spirit of humility and humanity, that looks for the good and that builds upon the great things that this country has to offer to all of us, regardless of our political persuasion. This will be my guiding light and compass in the days ahead. But once again, I am truly sorry for what I said on Friday.”

Now I know there are those who would say that Martin is right for apologizing. That stooping to their level is not the way to go. But I do believe that sometimes, the only way to reach the low hanging fruit, the low thinking people is to reach down to their level. The Republicans live on this low level, and have been cutting the legs out from under the nation with their lies and dumb anology and misrepresentation of the truth for far too long. Sometimes, you have to stoop down and swing back.

For the record, since making her dumb statement, Sarah Palin has actually doubled down, repeating the slavery analogy at different settings.

Martin Bashir’s Conclusion on Sarah Palin – She Deserves Someone Sh*t In Her Mouth – Video

Ah Martin! I am on your side obviously, but sometimes… sometimes, you… you say things the rest of us wish we could say.

Such was the case when Martin gave Sarah a lesson in slavery. You see, Sarah, trying to bring more attention to herself and her new book, spoke last weekend to an audience and compared Obamacare and the deficit to slavery. “Our free stuff today is being paid for by taking money from our children and borrowing from China,” Palin told a crowd of supporters in Iowa on Saturday night according to a report in The Des Moines Register. “When that money comes due – and this isn’t racist, but it’ll be like slavery when that note is due. We are going to beholden to the foreign master.”

Yes folks, Sarah is not too bright. Or maybe she is. Because those in her base loved her dumb statement and probably rushed to the store to get her book. But as I watched and listened to Palin, I couldn’t help but wondered if she would make that same slavery statement if she experienced anything close to what some slaves had to live through.

Martin Bashir must have felt the same way, because on his “Clear the Air” segment on MSNBC, Martin told the story as told through the diary of Thomas Thirstlewood, a British overseer at a sugar plantation in Jamaica in 1750. Based on his own writing, Thirstlewood was a crude evil man, and treated the slaves he watched worse than anyone would treat an animal. Bashir told of two of Thirstlewood’s diary entries, where he wrote about making a slave defecate in the mouth of another slave and in another entry, Thirstlewood wrote about making a slave “piss” in the eyes and mouth of yet another slave.

After pointing out some of these horrendous treatments some slaves went through at the hands of Thomas Thistlewood, Martin Bashir concluded, “I could go on, but you get the point. When Mrs. Palin invokes slavery, she doesn’t just prove her rank ignorance. She confirms if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, she would be the outstanding candidate.”

Sarah Palin Thinks the Pope is Too Liberal

Lol… See what I did there in the title? Sarah Palin thinks… lol!

It must be all that stuff the Pope does,  you know, like catering to the needs of the poor and teaching love and compassion for the less fortunate. He’s trying to put the focus of the Catholic Church back to community service and helping others.

Simple things, like giving up his pope-mobile for a less conspicuous, far less appealing 1984 ride, and washing and kissing the feet of prisoners… these things are a no no in the conservative world,  so therefore,  as per the Palin, the Pope must be a liberal!

In an interview on CNN’s “The Lead,” when host Jake Tapper , Palin shared the “thoughts” swirling around in her cabeza!

“Having read through media outlets, he’s had some statements that to me sounded kind of liberal, has taken me aback, has kind of surprised me. But there again unless I really dig deep into what his messaging is, and do my own homework, I’m not going to just trust what I hear in the media.”

The GOP Party of Liars Ginned Up The Faithful in Washington

These Republicans are an amazing bunch, and amazing not in the good way. After they forced a government shutdown, they gathered up the uninformed and convinced the poor souls that President Obama should be blamed.

The government shutdown hasn’t gone quite the way Republicans had hoped. The party’s national support has cratered; the public holds them responsible for a wildly unpopular crisis; and it’s going to take a while for the GOP to recover from a self-inflicted wound this severe.

But no one should assume they’ve hit rock bottom. Yesterday’s theatrics in Washington were a reminder that the Republican Party’s far-right wing can still make matters worse.

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) attended a rally protesting the closure of the World War II Memorial, according to reports.

The lawmakers and the former governor — and 2008 GOP vice-presidential nominee — joined a crowd that removed barricades at the memorial and chanted “tear down these walls,” according to Washington, D.C., radio station WTOP.

Cruz told the crowd that President Obama is using military veterans as “pawns” to draw support for his argument in the budget impasse, which has resulted in the two-week closure of the federal government and the memorial.

Brilliant. Flailing Republicans lack leaders and direction, but they’ll certainly get back on track now that the former half-term governor of Alaska is stepping out in front.

I’m not sure who was more delighted to see Palin and Cruz whining at a memorial Republicans closed when they shut down the government: far-right activists or the Democratic National Committee.

Sarah Palin Endorses New Jersey Teaparty Candidate Steve Lonegan

With polls suggesting a tightening race and only a few days remaining in the United States Senate contest in New Jersey, thousands of people gathered at a racetrack here to watch Sarah Palin endorse the Republican candidate, Steve Lonegan.

Sarah Palin, right, backed Steve Lonegan, shown with his wife, Lorraine, with their daughters, Katherine, left, and Brooke.

“Something big is happening here; it’s called momentum,” said Ms. Palin, the former Alaska governor who was John McCain’s running mate during the 2008 presidential election. “The country knows it, the media knows it.”

Recent polls have shown Mr. Lonegan, a former mayor of Bogota, N.J., and a businessman, gaining ground on his nationally known Democratic rival, Mayor Cory A. Booker of Newark. The election is on Wednesday.

The surge has surprised many who thought the special election to fill the seat that became vacant upon the death this year of Senator Frank R. Lautenburg, a veteran Democrat, would be a landslide victory for Mr. Booker.

While Mr. Booker maintains a 12-point lead in the polls, Mr. Lonegan has gained traction in part by framing the election as a referendum on Mr. Booker’s celebrity.

“My opponent, Cory Booker, was anointed by Hollywood; he was anointed by Oprah,” Mr. Lonegan said. “California doesn’t need a third senator.”

More than 2,000 supporters of Mr. Lonegan’s crammed beside a dirt racetrack in front of a bus emblazoned with “Tea Party Express.” Many hoisted yellow flags that said “Don’t Tread on Me.” Most raised iPhones to snap photos of Ms. Palin.

Sarah Palin Demands The Truth from Fox News

Sarah Palin is angry and she wants everyone including her employer Fox News,  to know it.

An avid supporter of Ted Cruz and his pointless efforts to defund Obamacare –legislation that passed both the House and Senate, signed into law by the President and found to be legal by the Supreme Court – Palin took to Twitter to demand that Fox News give up the names of their anonymous Republucan sources, who are criticizing Cruz.

On his Fox News Sunday show, host Chris Wallace made the point that after booking Cruz on his show,  he received complaints from a list of Republicans, all against Cruz and his defunding campaign.

Said Wallace;

“This has been one of the strangest weeks I’ve ever had in Washington, and I say that because as soon as we listed Ted Cruz as our featured guest this week, I got unsolicited research and questions not from Democrats, but from top Republicans — to hammer Cruz.

Palin apparently didn’t believe Wallace was telling the truth, and demanded that he release his list.

Like everyone is doing these days, Wallace ignored Palin’s demand.

In a classic case of the tail wagging the dog, Ted Cruz has convinced the Republican party that defunding Obamacare is their only ticket to relevancy and thus, the White House in 2916. And they have apparently bought into his assumption that the Demicratic controlled Senate and the president will void their own law.

These things will never happen of course, but leadership is lacking in the Republican party. And anyone who steps up to the plate with an idea – no matter how farfetched that idea is as in the case of Ted Cruz – that person will be followed.

Palin, Hannity and Rush Sweeping The Bottom of the Barrel

Maybe Americans are finally waking up to the antics of these Three Stooges.

Palin’s supporters are not coughing up the bucks to her PAC. The queen of Mooseburger, Alaska, has lost her charm, seeming not a bad seed so much as an ignorant and inarticulate one.

Hannity has embarrassed himself by practically drooling over Palin, perhaps because he enjoyed the sound of gray matter bouncing around in her cranium, where there is so much room. But perhaps the most remarkable proof of the pretentious lightweight that he is was the way he went down before Robert Gibbs in their famous 2008 encounter, falling “like sheep” as the Native Americans said about Custer’s troops in the Great Sioux War.

But it is Limbaugh (whose name is always mispronounced as “Lim-bog” by competitor the Rev. Al Sharpton) who may be sinking most swiftly into a bog of disfavor after his bad-boy act helped Mitt Romney and the GOP lose the votes of Republican women to Obama. They were repulsed by his attacks on a 32-year-old woman studying at Georgetown named Sandra Flute, who got on a panel to talk about women’s health issues. Her appearance was not appropriate, said the man willing to imitate a bog filled with mud.

Far from boldly but with plenty of venom, Rush got rolling and called Fluke a slut and a prostitute who wanted to be paid for having sex, since she wanted insurance to cover her birth control. In what analysts call projection, Rush proclaimed that if taxpayers should pay for that then she in turn should put her erotic life on YouTube, to that he and pals could see what they were underwriting.

This cannot and should not be forgotten.

Americans too often appropriate New Testament forgiveness in order to avoid hard facts or repulsive or opportunistic performance personalities.

I always oppose Limbaugh and his ilk because they are ready and willing to say whatever will work to exploit fear and insecurity for profit. If we dismiss their belligerence as “fun,” we help them dismiss those who do not find them “funny” as too uptight.

Bigots always tend to present themselves as good boys just trying to get past the boring with some humor. They want to keep themselves interested, and they do things that are pretty desperate to escape being bored.

Stupidity is not the problem at all. The novelist Milan Kundera points out that it was once thought that stupidity could be easily cured with knowledge; that was wrong. The addiction to influential power based in untruths modernizes itself with everything else. Propaganda has become a popular melodrama, especially when driven by self-pity.

People love to feel victimized, threatened and on the verge of being destroyed.

Limbaugh, Palin and Hannity will slowly go down and away, though they will return in a smaller venue because the public always loves bad movies

Sarah Palin’s Political Ambition Shooting For 2014

The two-minute ad, titled “Loaded for Bear,” focuses heavily on Palin’s CPAC appearance, lauding her as the fearless anti-establishment superstar.

The video also features freshman Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) praising Palin for her work in 2012 and giving her credit for his win, as well as that of others. It also features text reminding viewers that there are 35 Senate races and 36 gubernatorial races next year. The video ends with the silhouette of a bear growling, and the words “We haven’t yet begun to fight!”

Palin Hits Rove At CPAC – Rove Hits Back On Fox

So much infighting going on in the Republican party right now, one can get whiplash trying to keep up. The latest battle was launched by failed Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin as she delivered her 2013 CPAC speech. On a roll with her criticizm of everything from President Obama to Bloomberg’s Big Gulp Soda ban, Palin got carried away and attacked some in her own party.

One of these attacks referenced, though not by name, Karl Rove and his failed attempts in the last election to get more Republicans elected. In her attack, Palin said;

“If these experts who keep losing elections and keep getting rehired and getting millions — if they feel that strong about who gets to run in this party, then they should buck-up or stay in the truck. Buck up or run. The Architect can head on back to the great Lone Star State and put their name on some ballot –- though for their sakes, I hope they give themselves a discount on their consulting services.”

Of course, Karl Rove was not going to take this laying down. Rove went on Fox today and pushed back in an interview

“I’m a volunteer and I don’t take a dime with my work from American Crossroads and pay my own travel expenses out of my own pocket and I thought she was encouraging volunteer grassroots activity and I’m a volunteer,” Rove said. “Second of all, look, I appreciate encouragement I ought to go home to Texas and run for office and, it would be news if I did to have her support. But I don’t think I’m a good candidate — a kind of balding, fat guy. And second, if I did run for office and win, I would serve out my term and I wouldn’t leave office midterm.”

A definite zing to the failed governorship of Sarah Palin, who left office half way through her first term.

Knowing Sarah Palin like I know Sarah Palin, expect her to quickly run to her Facebook page or even an appearance on Fox to respond to Karl’s attack. Expect it in 3,2,1…

Sarah Palin Thinks The Government Is Stockpiling Bullets To Attack Americans

In case you’re wondering exactly why CPAC – The Conservative Political Action Conference – invited Sarah Palin to speak at their yearly circus, instead of formidable Republican candidates like Chris Christie, then consider what the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate had to say on her Facebook page –  that America will eventually default on its debt and claims that the federal government is “stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest” to prepare.

“If we are going to wet our proverbial pants over 0.3% in annual spending cuts when we’re running up trillion dollar annual deficits, then we’re done. Put a fork in us. We’re finished. We’re going to default eventually and that’s why the feds are stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest,” Palin wrote in a Facebook message Tuesday.

The former GOP governor of Alaska was referring to the sequester, the automatic $1.2 trillion cuts in federal funding that take effect Friday unless lawmakers reach a deal.

“D.C.: Cut the Drama. Do Your Job. Americans are sick and tired of yet another ginned-up crisis. D.C. needs to grow up, get to work, and live within its means,” wrote Palin, the GOP’s 2008 vice presidential running mate of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

She continued: “The real economic Armageddon looming before us is our runaway debt, not the sequester, which the President advocated for and signed into law and is now running around denouncing because he never had any genuine intention of reining in his reckless spending.”

Palin wrote that she wants lawmakers to “stop the hysterics.”

“If we ARE serious about putting our fiscal house in order, then let’s stop the hysterics, tighten our belts, and take our medicine.”

Yep. These are the people conservatives look to for leadership.

Sarah Palin Booted From FOX

Once again, Ms. Palin’s out of a job.

After failing to meet her ratings expectations, Sarah Palin is once again, out of a job. Fox News reports that Palin, who earned $1 million a year as a regular contributor to the station, was no longer meeting her contractual obligations–in other words folks no longer cared what she had to say–about anything.
Bill Shine, the network’s executive vice president, had this to say about Ms. Palin’s departure:

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Governor Palin. We wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

Wish we could say the same…
