Hillary Clinton Beats Bernie Sanders in Nevada

Whatever retooling the Clinton campaign team did after being blown out by Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire, worked… at least in Nevada, as the former Secretary of State was projected the winner of the Democratic Nevada caucus long before the results rolled in.

Clinton prevailed in the third contest of the primary campaign with the backing of women, union workers, minorities and voters who are certain that the former secretary of state will have a better shot of winning in November, according to entrance polls.

Marvin Teske, a 53-year-old security guard at a Reno casino, said he worried that Sanders would have trouble winning in the fall. The Vermont senator largely appeals to white liberals, a relatively narrow swath of the Democratic Party.

“As far as being too far left, I agree with a lot of the stuff he has to say. But the problem I have is that all the stuff he is promising is never going to happen,” Teske said. “I’ve always liked Hillary.”

Revealed – Cruz Pulls Carson into a Closet And…

It’s the pinnacle of hypocrisy – say a big lie in public with the goal of misleading, then try to correct your lie in secret when no one is watching. And that is exactly what the Ted Cruz campaign is accused of doing to the Ben Carson campaign.

In the first voting event in Iowa, Ted Cruz and his campaign was accused of stealing the election by fooling Ben Carson’s supporters, telling them that their candidate was dropping out and that they should vote for Cruz. The goal was successful and Ted Cruz pulled off what none of the polls predicted – an Iowa win.

On Thursday night when no one was looking, Ted Cruz pulled Ben Carson into… a closet of all places to, I hope, personally apologize for his Iowa lie. The closet meeting took about 20 minutes and according to Carson’s campaign, the meeting on Thursday night “did not go well.”

Senior Carson spokesperson Jason Osborne said to The Daily Beast that the meeting “did not go well” because he did not have time to prepare Carson for the discussion, which went long enough that Carson’s staff had to knock on the door to get him ready to speak at the event. The Beast, citing an unidentified party operative, reported that the two met for between 20 and 25 minutes while Carson’s Secret Service detail stood outside the closet.

According to Osborne, Carson told him that he and the Tea Party senator agreed to “disagree on accountability and culpability.”

A spokesperson for Cruz’s campaign, Rick Tyler, also confirmed that the meeting took place, saying, “Yes, they had a good visit.”

#Insanity – Trump Guards Christianity Against The Attacks of The Pope

Donald Trump has basically offended every group on the planet, and Republicans love him for it. Now, Trump is engaging in a religious war with, of all people, the Pope.

Speaking at the US/Mexico border, Pope Francis was asked to comment on Donald Trump’s immigration plan to build a wall between the two countries. The Pope did not hesitate to point out the hypocrisy of the Republican leader who loves to call himself  “a Christian” every time he talks to Christian Republican voters.

“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” he said. While Francis said he would “give the benefit of the doubt” because he had not heard Trump’s border plans independently, he added, “I say only that this man is not a Christian if he has said things like that.”

Trump, a Presbyterian and the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, responded within minutes.

“For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful,” he said at a campaign stop in South Carolina, which holds a key primary on Saturday. “I am proud to be a Christian, and as president I will not allow Christianity to be consistently attacked and weakened.

So now Donald Trump, the man who is known for using the podium to spit his profanity, is now the gatekeeper for Christianity, and he is accusing the Pope of attacking and weakening said Christianity!

Who will win this holy war? Amazingly the profane laced, xenophobic has a good chance of winning this war against the Pope among today’s Republicans. What is wrong with these people?

Canadian Born Ted Cruz Sued Over his Claim of Being a “Natural Born” US Citizen

“I never breathed a breath of air on this planet when I was not a U.S. citizen,” Canadian born Republican presidential candidate, Ted Cruz said at a CNN town hall.  “It was the act of being born that made me a U.S. citizen.”

He added: “There will be some who try to work political mischief on it, but as a legal matter, this is clear and straightforward.”

But apparently the matter is not settled. It is not “clear and straightforward.” Numerous law professors and constitutionalists have raised questions about Cruz’s eligibility to be president of the United States. Some even said flat-out that the man born in Canada cannot run for the highest office in the land. One lawyer in Chicago is bringing his questions and concerns to the court.

Lawrence Joyce, a lawyer and Republican, is taking Ted Cruz to court. Yes, he is a Republican supporting Ben Carson, but Mr. Joyce wants no questions hanging over Cruz’s head if he becomes the Republican nominee for President. And apparently, Joyce is well aware that Democrats like Alan Grayson already have their lawsuits lined up… waiting…!

“What I fear is that Ted Cruz becomes the nominee, come September, Congressman Alan Grayson of Florida will go forward with his threats and probably several other Democrats will file suit to prevent Ted Cruz from being on the ballot,” Joyce, a pharmacist and attorney from Poplar Grove, Ill, told USA TODAY.

Joyce’s suit is just one of a few. A federal lawsuit was filed in Texas last month asking for a determination of Cruz’s eligibility to run. And voters in New York, who raised similar concerns about Cruz’s citizenship, on Thursday filed a challenge with the state Board of Election challenging the senator’s eligibility to be on the ballot.

Glenn Beck Thinks God is Using Scalia’s Death to Tell Americans to Vote for Ted Cruz – Video

Calling into a conservative talk show, Glenn Beck offered his views on why Conservative activist Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia, was found dead last weekend.  Because, according to Glenn Beck, God wanted to show Americans how easy it was for us to lose our liberty, so, according to Glenn Beck, God wants us elect “a true constitutionalist” like Ted Cruz to save America.

Yea, you can’t make this stuff up!

“I just woke the American people up,” Beck said, explaining the wonders of God’s plan. “I took them out of the game show moment and woke enough of them up to say, look at how close your liberty is to being lost. You now have lost your liberty. You replace one guy and you now have 5-4 decisions in the other direction. Just with this one guy, you’ve lost your liberty so you’d better elect somebody that is going to be somebody on [the court] because for the next 30 years, if you don’t, the Constitution as you know it [is gone].”

“The Constitution is hanging by a thread,” he declared. “That thread has just been cut and the only way that we survive now is if we have a true constitutionalist.”

Ted Cruz often refers to himself as a true constitutionalist, except of course the part of the constitution that talked about “Natural Born Citizen.”

Lawsuit Filed Against Ted Cruz in Texas – Video

No, not because he was born in Canada and running for President of the United States, that lawsuit will come later if Donald Trump gets his way, and if Ted Cruz turns out to be the Republican candidate for president. This lawsuit filed in Texas was because of more sleazy maneuvering by Cruz and his team, and their violation a Texas law in the way they asked for donations.

According to the law, Texas House Bill 1265, anyone soliciting donations in the state using “fake checks” must specify on the check that it is a “SPECIMEN-NON-NEGOTIABLE” and those words must be printed on the check in 18-point lettering. Ted Cruz has sent out these “fake checks” trying to get Texans to send him $45, telling them that they donations will be matched. By the looks of the checks below, Cruz and his campaign clearly violated the specifics in the law.

“This is the kind of mail my legislation was trying to prevent,” said the Bill’s author, Gene Hu. “It certainly breaks the spirit of the law, and I agree that the Texas’ Consumer Protection Division should look into whether or not it breaks the letter of the law, as well.”

Phillip Martin, deputy director of Progress Texas filed the lawsuit, saying that Cruz must be held accountable. “We filed the complaint because no candidate is above the law, not even Ted Cruz.”

Rafael Cruz Warns – Obama will Destroy America in 30 Years with Supreme Court Nomination

Exactly. Just as the President has gone door to door to suppress our Second Amendment Rights and confiscate our guns, and the way he has used Obamacare to destroy America’s economic system, and the way Mr. Obama has created death panels to decide who gets healthcare and who dies in the waiting room. Remember all those Republican claims about Obama? Well now the president is apparently going to use his Supreme Court nominee to destroy America… in as little as 30 years!

That was the warning from Rafael Cruz, father of the presidential candidate known for telling lies, the candidate who is often called out by Donald Trump and Marco Rubio as the biggest liar in politics – Ted Cruz. Rafael was interviewed by Pat Robertson and felt the need to issue the warning about Obama to the American people.

Speaking about the death of Justice Scalia and the coming nomination by President Obama, Rafael said, “This could tilt the balance of the court and could be something that would affect America for the next 30 years. We don’t have 30 years.”

John Lewis Explains His Comment about Bernie Sanders’ Civil Rights Record

Congressman John Lewis, a Hillary Clinton supporter and endorser, recently made news when he suggested that Bernie Sanders’ claim of being a civil rights activist, wasn’t true. During his endorsement of Hillary Clinton, Lewis said that he never saw Sanders during his travels while fighting for civil rights in his early days.

“I never saw him. I never met him,” John Lewis said. “I was chair of the student non-violent coordinating committee for 3 years, from 1963 to 1966. I was involved in the sit-ins, the freedom ride, the march on Washington, the march from Selma to Montgomery and directed the board of education project for six years… But I met Hillary Clinton. I met President Clinton.”

With some backlash from some, Lewis clarified his statements with this

“In the interest of unity, I want to clarify the statement I made at Thursday’s news conference.

“I was responding to a reporter’s question who asked me to assess Sen. Sanders’ civil rights record. I said that when I was leading and was at the center of pivotal actions within the Civil Rights Movement, I did not meet Sen. Bernie Sanders at any time. The fact that I did not meet him in the movement does not mean I doubted that Sen. Sanders participated in the Civil Rights Movement, neither was I attempting to disparage his activism. Thousands sacrificed in the 1960s whose names we will never know, and I have always given honor to their contribution.”

First Mommy, Now Brother George Comes to Fight for JEB!

What does it say about Jeb! when his primary mode of fighting back is to bring out his mommy and brother to fight his battles in the Republican nomination? It says Jeb! is weak, definitely too weak to be Commander-in-Chief of the greatest military on the face of the earth.

George W. Bush will stump for his younger brother for the first time Monday night, attending a rally in North Charleston along with his wife, former first lady Laura Bush.

The rally comes after Jeb Bush’s most forceful debate performance of the campaign, when he pushed back on Donald Trump for attacking his brother’s national security record.

“I’m sick and tired of him going after my family,” Jeb Bush said Saturday night. “My dad is the greatest man alive, in my mind. While Donald Trump was building a reality TV show, my brother was building a security apparatus to keep us safe and I’m proud of what he did.”

It was clear that the audience was on Bush’s side, as it loudly booed Trump and cheered for Bush.

But Trump wasn’t letting go of his line of attack Monday morning, vowing to come after both brothers if necessary.

“Now that George Bush is campaigning for Jeb(!), is he fair game for questions about World Trade Center, Iraq War and eco collapse? Careful!” Trump tweeted.

Bush hasn’t always embraced his family legacy. Last summer, he seemed unprepared to answer the question of how he would have handled Iraq, painfully torn between needing to acknowledge the mistakes from the war and wanting to avoid criticism of his own brother.

President Obama to Announce Justice Scalia’s Replacement “in due time” – Video

After the passing of Justice Scalia, President Obama announced his intentions to nominate Scalia’s successor “in due time.”

“I plan to fulfill my constitutional responsibilities to name a successor in due time,” Mr. Obama said. “And there will be plenty of time for me to do so,

Mr. Obama also paid tribute to Scalia, calling him “a brilliant legal mind with an energetic style.”

Justice Scalia, a staunch conservative and some would argue, an activist judge on the Supreme Court bench, died of natural causes in Texas on February 13th. He was 79 years old.

Public Workers: Working Hard, Paying More, Getting Less, Being Blamed. Solution?

Governor Christie wasn’t back in New Jersey for two days before his administration and its apologists went back on the attack on public worker pensions and health benefits.

The man who promised that he wouldn’t touch pensions in his gubernatorial run in 2009, and who staked his presidential ambitions on a bipartisan pension and benefits bill in 2011 is now touting a plan recommended by his appointed board of campaign contributors and Wall Street executives that would further degrade the benefits that are part and parcel of people’s decision to enter teaching, firefighting, police work and government administration in this state.

The latest plan, which was first unveiled last year and clarified on Thursday, calls for an end to the health plans that most New Jersey state workers get as part of their employment. Christie’s plan would move workers to the equivalent of Affordable Care Act Gold Plans which, despite their lofty name, have higher deductibles and more limited health care options for their subscribers. But the plan gets even better because no longer would health care be paid for by the state and employees; the cost would be shifted to the municipalities and school boards. Then the money that the state saves would be used to replenish (and plenish) the pension system.

Ingenious, right?

We got a further clarification on this proposal by Thomas Byrne, one of the members of Christie’s pension reform panel. And his point, in sum, is that teachers get more benefits than most workers in the private sector. Besides, they say the plan he and the panel recommended is the only way to solve this problem. Talk about reinforcing your own limited thinking.

What Byrne and his apologists don’t say is that there are many private sector workers who get far better benefits. Why can’t he compare public employee health care with those people? Because, simply, the same people calling for benefits reform are the same people who want to privatize public work and to destroy the power of the public worker unions. So comparing us to the average worker who’s been shafted over the past 40 years by Republicans and conservatives makes people angry at what we have, rather than what we have earned through legal collective bargaining. The rich keep what they have and the rest lose out. Haven’t we heard that somewhere before?

I do have to say that I agree with one of Byrne’s points, and this is likely to get me in trouble with my public worker brethren and sisteren. I think that putting a constitutional amendment that forces the state to make a full pension payment every year is a losing issue. Most New Jerseyans support their local teachers and don’t want to penalize them, but the thought of having to pay billions of dollars at the expense of other programs – which is what the opponents of this amendment will argue – will turn most voters against it.

Governor Christie has done a terrific job, and a terrible one at the same time, by turning public workers into the face of the budgetary, taxing and spending problem we have in New Jersey. It’s not right, it’s not fair and it’s a disgraceful turn away from decency and respect, but it’s the truth and Democrats need to understand that. An amendment will fail. Nix it.

Likewise, a millionaire’s tax would help, but will not raise enough money to pay for the shortfall. Reducing pension investment fees is also a necessary step, but a small one. So what to do?

A 1% tax on corporate profits. After all, it’s the business interests that have been driving educational reform since 1983, including the calls for more cooperative learning, back-to-basics content retention, tenure reform and the Common Core Curriculum Standards. Business is interested in education because schools supply their future workers, and they also have an interest in well-run towns, police forces and firefighters. So why not have them pay a greater share of the expenses? That way, all public workers could share in the proceeds and homeowners wouldn’t have to bear the burden of ever-rising property taxes. One percent is not too much to ask and any company that decides that it’s too much and leaves New Jersey would be sacrificing its highly educated labor force and would risk ridicule for running away.

Obviously I don’t have complete details and I’m sure the accountants would discover all manner of roadblocks. Plus, having corporate interests pay for things usually means they’ll want their names and logos on it. But I think this is better than having taxpayers voting on a multi-billion dollar plan that will hike their taxes. And it just might solve the problem of our underfunded school systems.

Donald Trump – “I like money. I’m very greedy. I’m a greedy person”

The Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, says that he is a Christian, and he quoted “two Corinthians” in Iowa trying to get the Christian conservatives to vote for him. But if Trump is really such a Believer as he claims, then he should know the verse that says, “the love of money is the root of all evil.” That verse is found in ‘one Timothy, 6:10‘ – Trump should understand where that is!

At a rally in Iowa before the Iowa votes were cast, Trump bragged of his love for money and how “greedy” he is.

“Now, I’ll tell you, I’m good at that – so, you know, I’ve always taken in money,” he said at a rally in Iowa. “I like money. I’m very greedy. I’m a greedy person. I shouldn’t tell you that, I’m a greedy – I’ve always been greedy. I love money, right?

“But, you know what? I want to be greedy for our country. I want to be greedy. I want to be so greedy for our country. I want to take back money,” he added.

Trump also said he would have filed his personal finances with the Federal Election Commission even if he weren’t running for president, because he loves to brag.

“I filed my papers with the federal elections,” he said. “Everyone said, ‘Well maybe he’s not as rich as we think, so maybe he’ll never file,’ but I filed. In fact, I would have filed if I didn’t run, because I want to brag. I love to brag, all right?”

If Trump is so in love with money and greed, and the Scriptures say “the love of money is the root of all evil,” is it safe to say that Trump is evil?

I think that would be a fair assumption.
