Hillary Clinton Beats Bernie Sanders in Nevada

Whatever retooling the Clinton campaign team did after being blown out by Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire, worked… at least in Nevada, as the former Secretary of State was projected the winner of the Democratic Nevada caucus long before the results rolled in.

Clinton prevailed in the third contest of the primary campaign with the backing of women, union workers, minorities and voters who are certain that the former secretary of state will have a better shot of winning in November, according to entrance polls.

Marvin Teske, a 53-year-old security guard at a Reno casino, said he worried that Sanders would have trouble winning in the fall. The Vermont senator largely appeals to white liberals, a relatively narrow swath of the Democratic Party.

“As far as being too far left, I agree with a lot of the stuff he has to say. But the problem I have is that all the stuff he is promising is never going to happen,” Teske said. “I’ve always liked Hillary.”

In Nevada Primary, “None of these Candidates” Won

In the Democratic primary for governor in Nevada, voters were not too happy with the actual candidates on the ballot. What got their attention however, was the option that said, “None of these candidates.”

“None of these candidates” won hands down.

None of these candidates” earned 30 percent of the vote when The Associated Press called the race, outpacing the leading actual candidate, Robert Goodman, a retired state Economic Development commissioner from Las Vegas who’s run statewide twice before and shares a last name with the Vegas mayoral dynasty, at 25 percent. But according to state law, Goodman will win the nom

Donald Trump Praises Donald Trump For Romney’s Win in Nevada

Mitt Romney should thank his lucky stars or better yet, he should bow down and worship at the altar that donald trump has prepared. For without the endorsement of the great donald – and yes, I intentionally spelled his name that way – Mitt would have lost in Nevada.

Appearing on his weekly television spot on the Fake News Network, donald trump gave praise to donald trump for Mitt’s win in Nevada.

“There was a lot riding on that particular race in Nevada and it was interesting, because the numbers were much, much greater than you thought,” Trump gloated. “And a lot of people are giving me credit for that. And I will accept that credit.”

Newt Gingrich Is At The End Of The Road… Or Is He?

The latest polls in Nevada have Mitt Romney leading and expected to win tonight’s Republican primary election by some 20 points. That is not good news for his rivals and an email to reporters from Newt Gingrich is raising speculations about the future of his campaign.

According to the National Journal, Gingrich will deliver a news conference tonight after the election results. Is he ready to concede the race and throw his support behind Romney, or is he going to continue his defiance against his party’s elite and march on to the next state?

Gingrich’s press conference is scheduled for 11PM in Las Vegas.

Rand Paul To Donald Trump: Are You A Registered Republican?

“I’ve come to New Hampshire today because I’m very concerned,” Rand Paul, the freshman Teaparty winner in Kentucky said. “I want to see the original long-form certificate of Donald Trump’s Republican registration.”

There was light laughter in the room, when Mr. Paul made the request during a breakfast speech on Thursday at the Merrimack County Republican Committee. Hearing the laughter, Mr. Paul added, “Seriously, don’t you think we need to see that?”

One day after Mr. Obama released his long-form birth certificate from the state of Hawaii – a move that was followed by Mr. Trump’s claim, during a visit to New Hampshire, that he believes he deserves credit for the president’s decision – Mr. Paul sought to turn-the-table on Trump. He gently urged Republicans to take notice that Mr. Trump has contributed money to Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the majority leader, and many other Democrats.

“I’m going to believe it when I see his embossed seal to his Republican registration,” said Mr. Paul, a rising figure in the Republican Party who is visiting New Hampshire this week during the Congressional recess. He spoke with a smile, but his words marked one of the first times that a leading Republican has challenged Mr. Trump’s ties to the party.

Your move chump, oops, I mean Trump!

John Ensign To Resign From Senate Over Ethics Violation

Senator John Ensign. Do we need to say more? We can end this post right here and everyone would walk away with a picture in their minds of a Republican Senator who had an affair with a Cynthia Hampton, the wife of a former top aide,  Doug Hampton. And everyone will remember Mr. Ensign’s parents doling out $96,000.00 to Cynthia and her husband in an effort to quietly bury the affair.

And Ensign is making news again, this time, announcing his retirement from the Senate. The news was confirmed on his website earlier today, where he issued the following statement;

“It is with tremendous sadness that I officially hand over the Senate seat that I have held for eleven years. The turbulence of these last few years is greatly surpassed by the incredible privilege that I feel to have been entrusted to serve the people of Nevada.  I can honestly say that being a United States Senator has been the honor of my life.”

Uh-huh…Mr. Ensign is under investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee due to his affair with Mrs. Hampton and his actions afterwards, where he wallowed being lobbied by her husband. Resigning now is Mr. Ensign’s way of sparing his family the embarrassment of going through an investigation.

“While I stand behind my firm belief that I have not violated any law, rule, or standard of conduct of the Senate, and I have fought to prove this publicly, I will not continue to subject my family, my constituents, or the Senate to any further rounds of investigation, depositions, drawn out proceedings, or especially public hearings.  For my family and me, this continued personal cost is simply too great.

Mmm- hmm…Mr. Ensign will present his official resignation to Vice President Joe Biden on Friday,  his last day in the Senate listed as May 3rd.

Family values at work here people. This is the conservative way!
