Obamacare Enrollment Numbers – 11.3 Million Since November

While Republicans continue to waste taxpayers money with yet another futile repeal effort, the health care reform known as Obamacare has topped 11.3 million national sign ups this enrollment season.

About 8.6 million people signed up for plans on HealthCare.gov since Nov. 1, and another 2.7 million signed up on the state-based exchanges, officials said.

Nearly 4 million people under age 35 nationally signed up for Obamacare plans. That number is important: The 18-to-34-year-old demographic is closely watched, because younger customers tend to spend more into the health plans than they cost in benefits. Almost 3 million of the sign-ups came from those young adults.

“We’re encouraged that marketplace consumers are increasingly young, engaged and shopping for the best plan,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell. “We have more work to do before the next deadlines, and our focus continues to be the consumer experience and educating consumers about available financial assistance and their choices.”

Although some may say Cruz, who was born in Canada, is a Natural Born U.S citizen base on a Harvard Law study, a more recent and in depth study from Boston University suggests otherwise.

Another Positive Jobs Report for December – 292,000 Jobs Created

More non-farm jobs created in the month of December amounting to 292,000 jobs, according to a newly released report from The Bureau of Labor Statistics, and according to the report, the unemployment rate remains at 5%.

In a rally tonight in Vermont, hecklers threw Donald Trump completely off his C game, causing the Entertainer-in-Chief to demand the heckler be thrown out in the cold without his jacket. And according to Trump, it was about 10 degrees below zero outside.

“Get him outta there,” Trump demanded. “Don’t give him his coat! Keep his coat. Confiscate his coat. You know it’s about ten degrees below zero outside. No, you can keep his coat. Tell him we’ll send it to him in a couple of weeks.”

Fox News – Obama was “Faking” His Tears by Putting “Pepper” By His Eyes – Video

The President recently spoke about guns and the deaths of so many American citizens at the hands of crazed lunatics with guns. But when he mentioned the Sandy Hook massacre where 20 kids and 6 adults were senselessly slaughtered, he had to wipe away the tears, a natural emotion that many onlookers understood.

Except over at the “Fair and Balanced” network of Fox News, where one commentator actually said the president placed peppers by his eyes to allow the tears to flow.

“Obama was clearly faking his crying.” said Michael Gunzelman of WABC radio. “He put pepper to his eye and that’s how he started to cry.”

Why this network is considered a “news” network is beyond me. But then again, I can totally understand why one study found that watching Fox News makes you “stupid.”

John McCain – Ted Cruz’s Canadian Birth Might Be an Issue

Canadian born Ted Cruz recently renounced his Canadian citizenship and is now trying to be an American president.

In addition to Donald Trump and others – even some in Cruz’s own Republican party – the questions are swirling. Can someone born in another country be a Natural Born U.S citizen.

John McCain is rightfully questioning how Ted Cruz, who held dual citizenship and thus, considered himself a Canadian a little over a year ago, can now run for president of the United States.

In an interview Wednesday on Phoenix radio station 550 KFYI’s Chris Merill Show, McCain said he “doesn’t know” whether Cruz’s birth in Canada makes him eligible to be president. Cruz, whose father was born in Cuba, asserts that he is a U.S. citizen because his mother was an American.

“I know that came up in my race because I was born in Panama, but I was born in the Canal Zone which is a territory. Barry Goldwater was born in Arizona when it was territory when he ran in 1964,” McCain said.

“That’s different from being born on foreign soil. I think there is a question. I’m not a constitutional scholar on that, but I think it’s worth looking into. I don’t think it’s illegitimate to look into it.”

Asked if the Supreme Court might have to weigh in on the “natural born citizen” issue, McCain said, “It may be, that may be the case.”

Yesterday, Donald Trump stated a fact for a change, that Ted Cruz is a Canadian by way of birth who recently renounced his Canadian citizenship when he decided to run for president here in America. And today, Trump’s spokesperson continued the Cruz is a Canadian talk, although she is not fully closing the door on the slight chance that Cruz could legally run for President of the United States.

Donald Trump’s national campaign spokeswoman on Wednesday hinted that the fact that Ted Cruz was born in Canada could hurt his presidential run, despite having previously defended Cruz on the issue.

“There’s a ton of voters who are a little uncomfortable voting for someone outside of the country,” Katrina Pierson told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “And the fact that Sen. Cruz has sort of left this issue off the table for so long has created some of the controversy.”

Officer Who Arrested Sandra Bland Indicted

No, the Grand jury did not indict Texas State Trooper Brian Encinia on any wrong doing in Sandra Bland’s death, but he was indicted on a perjury charge, for falsifying information about why Bland was stopped and removed from her vehicle.

Special prosecutor Shawn McDonald said Wednesday outside the courthouse that “the indictment was issued in reference to the reasoning that (Texas State Trooper Brian Encinia) removed her from her vehicle.”

He explained the grand jury didn’t believe Encinia’s statement that he took her from the car she was driving so he could conduct a safer traffic investigation.

The penalty for perjury, a Class A misdemeanor, is up to a year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said after the indictment was announced that it will begin termination proceedings against the trooper.

To hear his wife, Candy Carson tell the tale, our favorite super hero Ben was on his way home from a hard day’s work when all of a sudden, there was a gas station! Ben felt the need… no… the urge to stop for gas and decided against paying at the pump. He went into the establishment, cash in hand when alas, a perp was driving away in “his baby”, the Jaguar!

Carson, being the good guy that he is, obviously completed the transaction before exposing the B on his chest. His action music obviously came on as he sprinted off behind the vehicle, apparently at speeds the Jaguar and its driver couldn’t muster. Moments later, our favorite super hero caught up with the car and carjacker who was still trying to steal the ride.

To make a long story short, Carson then turned on the charm, wooing the carjacker into total submission. Said carjacker surrendered to the one, as the two posed for pictures, you know, lemme take a selfie!

But if you go to a Donald Trump’s rally, you’ll quickly come to the realization that guns are not welcome at Donald Trump’s for rallies.

Donald Trump Goes After Ted Cruz – “He was born in Canada”

 

Yea, I know. It’s laughable. I don’t care what interpretations some put on it, saying because Cruz was born to an American mother in another country, then he is a Natural Born American citizen. It’s a bogus argument and still extremely debatable. And I for one, don’t buy it. If you were born in Canada, you’re Canadian PERIOD

The only fact in this saga however, remains the same. Ted Cruz was born in Canada, and that fact has not escaped Mr. Birther himself, Donald Trump!

“Republicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: ‘Do we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?’ That’d be a big problem,” Trump said when asked about the topic. “It’d be a very precarious one for Republicans because he’d be running and the courts may take a long time to make a decision. You don’t want to be running and have that kind of thing over your head.”

Trump added: “I’d hate to see something like that get in his way. But a lot of people are talking about it and I know that even some states are looking at it very strongly, the fact that he was born in Canada and he has had a double passport.”

NRA Responds to Obama’s Call for Background Checks – He’s Coming For Your Guns!!!

It’s more of the same from the NRA, after today’s emotional plea for meaningful background checks from the President. In a brand new statement pushing the same old lines, NRA claims President Obama’s call for action is nothing more than politics, and that Mr. Obama is coming for your guns!

In a statement from the executive director of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, Chris W. Cox, the usual talking points are heard.

The statement read;

Once again, President Obama has chosen to engage in political rhetoric, instead of offering meaningful solutions to our nation’s pressing problems.  Today’s event also represents an ongoing attempt to distract attention away from his lack of a coherent strategy to keep the American people safe from terrorist attack.

The American people do not need more emotional, condescending lectures that are completely devoid of facts. The men and women of the National Rifle Association take a back seat to no one when it comes to keeping our communities safe.  But the fact is that President Obama’s proposals would not have prevented any of the horrific events he mentioned.  The timing of this announcement, in the eighth and final year of his presidency, demonstrates not only political exploitation but a fundamental lack of seriousness.

The proposed executive actions are ripe for abuse by the Obama Administration, which has made no secret of its contempt for the Second Amendment.  The NRA will continue to fight to protect the fundamental, individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms as guaranteed under our Constitution.  We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be harassed or intimidated for engaging in lawful, constitutionally-protected activity – nor will we allow them to become scapegoats for President Obama’s failed policies.
