Just a few days ago, the world wondered if Lamar Odom would make it. Now there’s news the former NBA player, who was found unconscious and unresponsive in a brothel, has been released from the hospital.
E! News has exclusively learned that the former NBA star has been discharged from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, where he has been receiving medical treatment after being found unconscious on Tuesday, and is heading to California.
It was early Sunday morning when his car broke down at the side of the highway. As he waited for help to arrive, he was shot and killed by a police officer.
For this story let’s go back to Florida.
Just hours before the fateful encounter, 31 year old Corey Jones – a well known Church drummer in Florida – had just wrapped up a gig with his band, Future Prezidents, and was on l-95 heading home to Boynton Beach when his car broke down. Corey never made it home, as his life was permanently interrupted by Palm Beach Gardens officer, Nouman Raja.
Raja claimed that he stopped to investigate the car at the side of the road when he was confronted by an “armed subject.” Of course, Corey’s side will never be told.
“As the officer exited his vehicle, he was suddenly confronted by an armed subject,” Officer Ellen Lovejoy wrote in the release on Monday. “As a result of the confrontation, the officer discharged his firearm,” resulting in Jones’ death.
Police haven’t specified what type of weapon Jones had. And additional details about what led to the shooting haven’t been disclosed, pending an investigation.
The whole incident has left Jones’ family demanding answers.
“He was sitting on the side of the road and got shot,” said Jones’ uncle, Sylvester Banks Jr., of Clearwater. “We didn’t find out about it until about 12 hours later.”
Raja has been placed on paid administrative leave, per department policy. He has been with the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department since April, after working with the Atlantis Police Department, state records show.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting
Psssst, hey you… I got a confession. This is just between us, but… I love Frozen! 🙂 So for all those secret Frozen lovers out there, this one’s for you!
Canadian airline WestJet has custom-painted a “Frozen”-themed plane with beloved characters Anna, Elsa and Olaf on the inside and out.
The painters covered a Boeing 737 with more than 170 gallons of paint from nose to tail in Fort Worth, Texas. Rotating six-person crews worked 12-hour shifts for 21 days straight to finish the whimsical job.
Their midair mural tells a story, similar to WestJet’s 2013 “Sorcerer Mickey”-themed plane. The Arendelle princess sisters appear on the tail of the aircraft, where Elsa waves her hands to create magical snowflakes that travel the length of the fuselage to the warm front of the plane, where Olaf the enchanted snowman suns himself on a beach.
The inside of the plane features decals on the overhead bins and headrest covers that transition through the seasons, starting with summery sunflowers in the front of the plane that transform into icy snowflakes toward the back.
The “Frozen” plane will operate flights throughout all 737 WestJet networks, starting in Orlando. It is unclear when service will begin.
Believe it or not, but I’ve moved past the false claim by many that Apple products are immune from virus attacks. That claim just isn’t true, but like I said, I’ve more on.
Yes, viruses do attack Apple products, but at least the company is finally doing something about it.
Apple today removed more than 250 apps from its App Store that were using software from a Chinese advertising company that secretly accessed and stored users’ personal information. The firm, called Youmi, provided app makers with a software development kit that would glean which apps a user had downloaded, that user’s email address, and the serial numbers of their smartphone, according to mobile security company SourceDNA. The apps in total received 1 million downloads.
In a new Washington ABC Poll, President Obama’s approval has risen to an impressive 51%. Impressive, considering the nature of his opposition – people who have no problem making up stuff about him and his policies just to keep his numbers down.
The movement in his ratings — which we would emphasize has not yet been verified in other public polls — has been slight on a month-to-month basis. But his ratings have moved in a positive direction in two consecutive Post-ABC surveys. In May and July, Obama’s ratings were more negative than positive, with 45 percent to 46 percent approving and 50 percent disapproving of his performance. That tipped the other way in September, to 49 percent approval and 46 percent disapproval. And that slight shift has continued in the latest survey.
They say the boy who fights the girl the most is the one head over heels in love with you. If that is true, Donald Trump is in deep for Megyn Kelly.
Since the first Republican debate where Kelly asked some very appropriate questions about previous Trump statements about other women, Trump has made it his personal duty to attack the Fox News host every chance he gets, with everything he has. At one point, his attacks became so intense, Kelly was forced to take an unscheduled vacation.
Trump’s most recent attack came today, telling his followers to boycott Kelly’s show.
Donald Trump is currently leading in all the Republican polls and any other presidential candidate that attacks him get their 15 minutes in the spotlight. George Pataki – another Republican running for president although you probably didn’t know it – is looking for his 15 minutes, so here we go with his attack!
In an interview on MSNBC, the former Republican governor of New York was asked about Donald Trump’s attacks on George Bush. Pataki, on three different occasions call Trump’s attacks “nonsense,” and added that Trump “is not fit to be president of the United States”
Donald Trump is like an 8th grade schoolyard bully spewing nonsense. ‘I would have stopped September 11th if I was president. I’ll beat China. I’ll make Mexico build and pay for a wall.’ This is all complete nonsense. And more than that, you wonder why all of a sudden he’s going after Bush when it was Clinton, the Clintons who have been in power for 8 years before September 11th.
Expect Pataki to get hit by Trump’s Twitter account in 3,2,1…
Yes, I know what the usual argument is – guns don’t shoot or kill people, people shoot and kill other people. But in this situation the gun owner was simply sitting in the movie theater watching a movie when all of a sudden, BANG! He got shot with his own gun.
“It took a while after the bang, but this guy started shouting ‘Oh my God, I just shot myself! I just got my concealed and carry,’” Myers said, “and then everybody jumped up and that’s when we heard, ‘Call 9-11!’”
“You could feel the concussion of the shot,” said witness Domenic Rabone. “I mean you know being in a movie theatre it’s a surreal situation, and I don’t believe anybody really expects it to be a gunshot.”
“As soon as it registered and I realized it was a gun, it scared me,” said Myers.
Police treated the situation as a medical emergency as opposed to a live shooter scenario. No one else in the theater was hurt.
Former NYC Mayor and staunch Republican Rudy Giuliani, attacked Hillary Clinton in a radio interview with John Catsimatidis (AM 970) today, saying that the former Secretary of State “got away with murder” in the Democratic Debate and further saying that the debate “was like a love-fest.”
Giuliani claimed that “Bernie Sanders virtually applauded Hillary for destroying her emails,” and stated that he has “a list of 13 criminal statutes that Hillary allegedly violated with her conduct,” referencing Hillary’s decision to use a personal server for her emails when she was Secretary of State. Maybe he couldn’t get that list to Anderson Cooper in time for the debate.
Did you know that Republicans are fixated Hillary’s emails… and Benghazi!?!
Must use taxpayer’s dollars to conduct phony investigations into Clinton. Must.Pull.Her.Poll.Numbers.Down!
The 3-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to CBS News, the older boy retrieved the gun from atop the refrigerator Saturday night and a game of “Cops and Robbers” began with his 3-year-old brother and the loaded gun. Shortly after, the bullet struck the infant in the face, killing him.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says their father Michael Santiago told investigators that he was a former gang member and felt he needed the gun to protect his family.
Santiago is now facing felony charges for the death of his 3-year-old son.
I’ll start this post off saying, guns do kill people!
This incident happened in Illinois last Monday. A knife wielding maniac burst into a room where a 76-year-old was teaching about 20 kids the art of playing Chess.
“I’m going to kill some people” the man, 19-year-old Dustin Brown screamed. In his hands, he brandished two hunting knives.
The 76-year-old Chess teacher, identified as Army Vet James Vernon of Morton, calmed the situation enough to get the children out of the classroom and subdued the 19-year-old until police arrived.
“Settle down a little, relax a little bit,” Vernon said. “I’ll listen to you while these people, these kids get out of the room.”
Recalling the incident, Vernon said that things escalated when the kids had left the room.
“Realized his targets where gone and he came without warning,” said Vernon.
Vernon says Brown lunged at him with the knives, cutting his left hand.
“I didn’t have any weapons except these, so I grabbed him and threw a knee at him and my weight pushed him back,” said Vernon.
Vernon says he was able to take down and disarm his attacker just minutes before Morton police arrived.
Yes, blood was shed that day. Vernon was attacked and cut by the 19-year-old, but no one died thanks to the fact that guns were not a part of the equation.
I’ll end this post by saying, guns do kill people! The NRA and Republicans say otherwise.
