Joe Walsh Will Boycott Speech On Ways To Create Jobs

Joe Walsh – remember him? He’s the Teaparty Republican who prides himself on how conservative he is. So conservative in fact, that his own family is taking him to court for child support.

Well Joe has decided that hearing the President of the United States give another address is not something he wants to partake in. The United States congressman has decided to boycott Mr. Obama’s speech next Thursday.

 “I don’t see the point of being a prop for another of the president’s speeches asking for more failed stimulus spending and more subsidies for his pet projects.

“The president needs to stop the speeches, get out of his office and away from all the White House academics and start talking to real people out there. They’re the ones who are going to create the jobs, not White House paper-pushers and bureaucrats.”

It’s amazing how just about a month ago, the Republican talking point was, “where is the President’s plan?” Now that the President is asking all elected officials to come to the table and work on behalf of the people who elected them, Joe Nelson and his kind don’t want to anything to do with it. They apparently have better things to do. Nelson, a member on the Small Business Committee is planning a meeting with that group instead, which is equivalent to him spending the afternoon clipping his toenails, as no job policy decisions are expected from his get-together.

Meanwhile, the American people wait for some form of cooperation from their elected leaders. Instead, all we get is showmanship and childish political games.

Even Fox News Poll Shows – 74% Say No To Sarah Palin

This is not a liberal poll, it was done by Sarah Palin’s own employer.

The Poll, supervised by Anderson Robbins Research and Shaw and Co. Research, was conducted from August 29th to 31st, and asked 911 registered voters various questions. Among the questions asked, was this one about Sarah Palin; LOL. Good stuff!!!

Are Women Smarter Than Men? Presidential Poll Has The Answer

Although it’s still way too early to make any accurate predictions for the 2012 presidential election, a new Quinnipiac Poll taken between August 17th to 23rd shows, that although newly announced Republican candidate Rick Perry is leading his fellow rivals, Mitt Romney still stand a better chance.

While Perry leads the Republican field, Romney poses a stronger challenge to Obama in a general election, according to the Aug. 16-23 poll of 2,730 voters, which has a margin of error of 1.9 percentage points. Romney and Obama each would win about 47 percent of the vote in a November 2012 match-up, according to the poll. Obama topped Perry 45 percent to 42 percent, the poll showed.

What’s even more fascinating however, is this piece of information; the poll also found that “men and white voters prefer Romney to Obama, while the president leads both Romney and Perry among women.”

Again, this is more proof that women are truly smarter than men. Listen to the women guys!

Republican Congressman Chuck Hagel Slams His Fellow Republicans

Chuck Hagel, the former Republican Senator from Nebraska, gave an interview to the Financial Times that totally ripped into the Republican party, calling them out as “irresponsible,” and stating that he was “disgusted” with his party.

“The irresponsible actions of my party, the Republican Party over this were astounding. I’d never seen anything like this in my lifetime,” said Hagel. “I was very disappointed, I was very disgusted in how this played out in Washington, this debt ceiling debate. It was an astounding lack of responsible leadership by many in the Republican Party, and I say that as a Republican.”

Hagel also spoke about the way his Republican party bowed to every whim of the Teaparty;

“I think the Republican Party is captive to political movements that are very ideological, that are very narrow. I’ve never seen so much intolerance as I see today in American politics.

Arizona Republicans Raffle Same Type Of Gun Used On Gabrielle Giffords

Just eight months ago, a crazy gunman walked up to Democratic congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona at a democratic political rally,  shot the congresswoman in the head in an apparent assassination attempt and  killed six people as he emptied his glock into the crowd. Today, a Republican fundraiser in Arizona is offering the same type of weapon, a glock 23, as a prize in their raffle.

Arizona Republicans surely know just how effective this particular brand of gun can be. After all, it was only eight months ago that Jared Lee Loughner used a Glock 19 in Tucson – the seat of Pima County – to shoot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in the head. Giffords survived, but six other people, including a nine year old girl and a federal judge, were killed in the same shooting.

These people are mentally sick.

Al Sharpton Angry Over Disrespect Republicans Show President Obama

An obviously angry Al Sharpton couldn’t believe what the House Speaker, Republican John Boehner was trying to do. The politics being played by the House Speaker while real Americans went without jobs was just too much for the MSNBC television host, and Sharpton tore into one of his guests.

His guest for the Tuesday evening segment was liberal talk-radio host Bill Press and a consultant for the Republican party, Matt Mackowiak. Already upset by the apparent contempt President Obama receives regularly from Boehner and the Republican party, Sharpton put Mackowiak in his place when the Republican said that President Obama was disrespecting Nancy Reagan by trying to hold his speech on the same night the Republicans were having their debate at the Reagan Library.

“You’re really not going to say this to me now,” Sharpton shouted, bringing a stop to Mackowiak’s statement. “You know you’re on PoliticsNation … that is patently ridiculous what you just said!”

To Be Clear, Eric Cantor Is A Flip-Flopper

In 2004, in the midst of hurricane season, another Republican Congressman from Texas, Rep. Jeb Hensarling, introduced an amendment designed to offset emergency disaster relief with spending cuts. Eric Cantor, the Republican House Majority Leader, emphatically voted against the amendment. As fate would have it, that very year, Mr. Cantor’s district of Richmond Va. was the victim of a tropical storm Gaston.

But that was 2004, and although Cantor found it necessary to kill that amendment then, he is now calling for spending cuts to offset the victims of hurricane Irene. Why the flip-flop? Cantor’s spokesperson Brad Dayspring explains;

“[T]he national debt at the time was under $8 trillion and was $8.67 trillion when Nancy Pelosi became Speaker, Today the debt stands at $14.625, meaning that while Democrats controlled the purse string, the national debt literally exploded. We are living in different times. Majority Leader Cantor, Whip [Kevin] McCarthy and Chairman [Paul] Ryan wrote an entire book last year about how the previous Republican majority lost its way, particularly on spending issues. That was one of the major reasons the Republican majority became the Republican minority from 2006-2010. House Republicans then ran, and won, an election pledging to be responsible stewards of federal tax dollars.

People and families affected by these disasters will certainly get what they need from their federal government. The goal should always be to find ways to pay for what is needed or to find offsets whenever possible, that is the responsible thing to do. Is the suggestion that Congress should completely ignore the $14 trillion debt and make no effort to try to pay for things? That seems quite extreme. People also expect their government to spend their dollars wisely, and to make efforts to prioritize and save when possible. They aren’t and shouldn’t be considered mutually exclusive concepts.”

In 2004, an $8 trillion debt was unheard of. If Cantor was so concerned about spending and the debt then, it would seem the obvious thing to do would be to vote for Jeb Hensarling’s amendment and try to bring the debt under control. Hurricanes and other natural disasters were the same then, people affected by these events felt the same need for help then as they do now and the moral thing to do, as it was then, would be for the government to help its citizens. So this argument Cantor’s spokesperson is making is filled with holes.

The only difference now is the political party in control, and the Republican’s colossal effort to make this administration a total failure.

While the people of the hurricane affected states suffer, Cantor and the Republicans are satisfied with playing politics. As usual!
