Chris Christie Slams NRA’s Ad Attacking Obama’s Daughters – “It’s Reprehensible”

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie blasted the National Rifle Association for an ad that pointed out President Barack Obama’s daughters have armed protection, calling it “reprehensible” and saying elected officials’ kids should be off-limits.

“I think any of us who are public figures, you see that kind of ad and you cringe,” he said during a news conference at which he announced a task force on guns and mental health.

Christie, a potential 2016 presidential contender, is the most prominent Republican to voice displeasure with the ad.

The spot calls Obama an “elitist hypocrite” for being skeptical of having armed guards at schools even though his daughters get Secret Service protection.

Tom Ricks Slams The Fox Network While On The Fox Network – Video

Tom Ricks went into the lion’s den and poked the lion right in the eyes. Mr Ricks, the author of The Generals and Senior Fellow at Center for a New American Security, went on Fox News and told the Republican network the truth, that Benghazi was pushed by the network because they thought there were some political benefits for the Republican party.

I’m pretty sure Tom Ricks has permanently lost his pass to Fox News.

Ex Supreme Court Judge Criticizes Citizens United Ruling – Corporations Are Not People My Friends

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens leveled new criticism on Wednesday against the court’s landmark 2010 ruling on campaign financing, saying it had allowed corporations to ramp up spending and non-voters to influence the outcome of elections.

Stevens, who dissented from the “Citizens United” ruling, said it had increased the importance of cash in contested elections, opened the floodgates for foreign campaign spending and put corporations or other out-of-state speakers ahead of voters interested in local issues.

The Supreme Court split along conservative-liberal ideological lines in making the 5-4 ruling in 2010, giving corporations the constitutional free-speech right to spend freely to support or oppose candidates in federal elections.

The ruling triggered a massive increase in spending by wealthy individuals and corporations in federal campaigns ahead of this year’s November 6 presidential and congressional elections.

Republican Congressman Chuck Hagel Slams His Fellow Republicans

Chuck Hagel, the former Republican Senator from Nebraska, gave an interview to the Financial Times that totally ripped into the Republican party, calling them out as “irresponsible,” and stating that he was “disgusted” with his party.

“The irresponsible actions of my party, the Republican Party over this were astounding. I’d never seen anything like this in my lifetime,” said Hagel. “I was very disappointed, I was very disgusted in how this played out in Washington, this debt ceiling debate. It was an astounding lack of responsible leadership by many in the Republican Party, and I say that as a Republican.”

Hagel also spoke about the way his Republican party bowed to every whim of the Teaparty;

“I think the Republican Party is captive to political movements that are very ideological, that are very narrow. I’ve never seen so much intolerance as I see today in American politics.
