President Barack Obama Announces His Support for Emmanuel Macron

“I’m not planning to get involved in many elections now that I don’t have to run for office,” the former president said in announcing his support for French centrist Emmanuel Macron, “but the French election is very important to the future of France and the values that we care so much about.”

France will hold a runoff election between Emmanuel and a far-right candidate, Marine Le Pen on Sunday. Marine Le Pen also received the support of Donald Trump. Mr. Obama said he chose to support Emmanuel because “the success of France matters to the entire world”.

Mayor of Paris – “Mr. Trump is so stupid, my God!”

Donald Trump is not even president, but world leaders are watching the Republican joker and the process we call the 2016 Presidential election led by said joker, Donald Trump. And world leaders are apparently not fans of the donald.

“Mr. Trump is so stupid, my God,” Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, standing next to new London Mayor Sadiq Khan, said this week when asked about Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States.

Khan, London’s first Muslim mayor, has been criticizing Trump for days over the New York billionaire’s idea, saying it would prevent him from visiting the U.S.

Trump indicated Monday he could provide an exception for the mayor, which Khan dismissed, saying it’s not “just about me” and blasting Trump for having “ignorant” views of Islam.

Trump announced his plan for the temporary ban in December amid increased fears of terrorism, though has stood by his proposal in recent days since becoming the GOP’s presumptive nominee.

French Teacher Stabs Himself then Said ISIS Sympathizer Stabbed Him

Thank God he wasn’t in America. With his crazy mindset, he could have easily picked up a gun at your friendly neighborhood gun store and committed another episode of mass murder.

The teacher said he had been attacked while alone in a classroom in Aubervilliers, a suburb of Paris.

But prosecutors said he had wounded himself with a box cutter and was now being questioned as to why he lied.

France remains on high alert following the terror attacks in Paris on 13 November that left 130 people dead.

The 45-year-old teacher – who has not been named – has been treated in hospital for superficial wounds to his side and neck.

According to his account, a man had attacked him with a box cutter at about 07:10 (06:10 GMT) on Monday and had shouted: “This is for Daesh [Islamic State]. It’s a warning”.

UPDATE – Over 100 People Killed in Paris, 5 Terrorists Dead

The initial reporting of the terrorist attack in Paris stated that as many as 46 people killed and 100 others taken hostage. And as the story progressed, it is always the hope that that number will decrease and those originally feared dead would be found alive. Hope has failed us tonight as the number of innocent people killed has ballooned upwards past 100 to as many as 120 killed.

French television and news services quoted the police as saying that around 100 people had been killed at a concert site where hostages had been held during a two-hour standoff with the police, and that perhaps dozens of others had been killed in apparently coordinated attacks outside the country’s main sports stadium and four or five other popular locations in the city. But estimates on the total number of dead varied.

Witnesses on French television said the scene at the concert hall, which can seat as many as 1,500 people, was a massacre, describing how gunmen with automatic weapons shot bursts of bullets into the crowd. Ambulances were seen racing back and forth in the area into the early hours of Saturday.

Television reports said at least five assailants had been killed: three at the concert hall as the police assaulted the building, and two near the sports stadium. It was unclear whether other attackers were still on the loose early Saturday.

They Shout, “We’re Racists, And That’s The Way We Like It” at Black Man – Video

The incident happened in France on Tuesday, right before a championship game between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain. The footage, obtained by The Guardian, shows a black man trying to board a train and being denied access by self admitted “racists.”

“We’re racist, we’re racist, and that’s the way we like it!”

Chelsea released a statement calling the incident “abhorrent” and had “no place in football or society”. And pledged to “support any criminal action against those involved, and should evidence point to involvement of Chelsea season-ticket holders or members, the club will take the strongest possible action against them, including banning orders.”

French prosecutors are investigating.

City of Paris is Planning to Sue Fox News

Anne Hidalgo

Finally, someone with enough kahunas to not only call out Fox News on their lies, but also enough kahunas to take the network to court!

In an appearance on CNN, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo explained that the lawsuit against Fox will happen.

“When we’re insulted, and when we’ve had an image, then I think we’ll have to sue, I think we’ll have to go to court, in order to have these words removed,” Hidalgo told Amanpour in an interview. “The image of Paris has been prejudiced, and the honor of Paris has been prejudiced.”

When asked to clarify which network she planned “to take to court and sue,” Hidalgo replied: “Fox News, that’s the name.”

Hidalgo’s remarks come after Fox News ran multiple reports describing areas of Paris (and England) that were governed by Sharia law and off-limits to non-Muslims. The network has since apologized for making “regrettable errors on air regarding the Muslim population in Europe—particularly with regard to England and France.”

“This applies especially to discussions of so-called ‘no-go zones,’ areas where non-Muslims allegedly aren’t allowed in, and police supposedly won’t go,” anchor Julie Banderas said in one on-air apology. “To be clear, there is no formal designation of these zones in either country, and no credible information to support the assertion there are specific areas in these countries that exclude individuals based solely on their religion.”

Muslim Lawyer Thanked Don Lemon For his “offensive, racist dumb-ass question”

After the shooting in France where 12 people were killed by Islamic extremists, Don Lemon brought a Muslim lawyer and activist on his CNN show to discuss the events. But something stood out in Lemon’s interview that had everyone talking – that fact that he asked his guest, Arsalan Iftikhar, if he supports ISIS. The question it seems was placed to Iftikhar simply because he was a Muslim.

Surprisingly, Iftikhar stayed on set and completed the interview, but he wasn’t done with Don Lemon. In an open letter written Monday, Iftikhar thanked Lemon for his “patently offensive racist dumb-ass question” that made him “famous!”

“Now to be completely honest with you, I totally thought that I had misheard him because surely there was no respectable journalist in the world who would ask a Muslim human rights lawyer whether he supports an organization which violates human rights each and every day,” Iftikhar wrote in the Islamic Monthly, where he is a senior editor.

“But then I remembered that I was dealing with Don Lemon,” he wrote.

Iftikhar — whose last piece for the magazine before Lemon invited him on was “Let’s Call ISIS The Un-Islamic State,” slamming the terror group — wrote that “such an obviously absurd question certainly deserves no response.”

He closed the letter with a flourish.

“It is a sincere honor to be added to the litany of famous ‘Malaysian-black-hole-penis-biting’ Don Lemon media gaffes which can be added to his audition tape for his next job at FOX News Channel,” Iftikhar wrote.

“So from the bottom of my heart,” he added, “I want to publicly thank Don Lemon for making me famous with his patently offensive racist dumb-ass question.”

Rand Paul on Charlie Hebdo and Islam – It Is a “barbarous aberration of a religion”

Rand Paul appeared on The Sean Hannity radio show today to discuss, among other things, the recent shooting on Charlie Hebdo in France, and while talking to the Fox News host, Rand Paul, a top Republican actively pursuing the White House in 2016 said, “That barbarous aberration of a religion is opposed to the free flow of ideas.”

Even though the two suspects still at large were reportedly born in France, Paul soon brought up immigration policy, suggesting, “You’ve got to secure your country. And that means maybe that every Muslim immigrant that wishes to come to France shouldn’t have an open door to come.” He continued: “It’s also my concern here. I think our border is a danger to attack, as well as our student visa program. Several of the attackers on 9/11 were here on student visas they had overstayed.”

When Hannity quoted a New York Times editorial saying it’s no time “to smear all Muslims with a terrorist brush,” Paul laughed. “I think they must be totally deaf and dumb,” he said, “Because, think about it. I haven’t seen any Christians or Jews dragging people of the Islamic faith through the streets, but I am seeing the opposite. I’m seeing Christians beheaded, I’m seeing people who say anything about Islam being shot, unarmed, being shot.”

He continued: “And so, yeah, should the rules always protect everyone’s rights? Yeah, but I’m not worried too right now that we’ve infringed on their rights, I’m worried that Christians and Jews are being killed around the world.”

Don Lemon Stuns Muslim Lawyer – “Do You Support ISIS?” – Video

“Wait, did you just ask if I support ISIS?” That was the comeback from human rights lawyer and activist, Arsalan Iftikhar. as he tried to wrap his head around the rather outlandish question from CNN’s Don Lemon. The two were discussing the events in France where Muslim gunmen murdered 12 people because of satirical cartoons they made about the prophet Mohammed.

Lemon’s question stemmed from a report saying that 16% of French citizens support ISIS and he asked the questioned if Iftikhar supports the terrorist group as well. After asking Don if he really just asked that question, Iftikhar skillfully carried on the conversation talking about the 16% report.

Earlier in the interview, Iftikhar compared the violence of Islam to the violence of Christianity. “It’s important to not conflate the actions of a very few to a population of 1.7 billion people, which represents 20 percent of the word’s population,” he said. “When Christians commit acts of terror, we don’t ask priests and pastors to go on national television and condemn these acts. But sadly, Muslim public intellectuals, thinkers, leaders, and Islamic scholars have that double standard that we have to deal with.”

Jon Stewart on Charlie Hebdo – It Shouldn’t Be an Act of Courage to Go Into Comedy

Like the rest of the world, Jon Stewart expressed his frustrations with the recent shooting in France, where 12 people were executed by Islamic terrorists because of the apparent deadly combination of satire and the Islamic faith.

Jon Stewart of Comedy Central had this to say.

I know very few people go into comedy as an act of courage, mainly because it shouldn’t have to be that. It shouldn’t be an act of courage, it should be taken as established law. But those guys at Hebdo had it and they were killed for their cartoons.
