Barack Obama “troubled” that Republicans continue “humouring” Trump

In an interview with 60 Minutes, former president, Barack Obama expressed frustration with Republicans who continue kissing up to Trump. Mr. Obama says he’s troubled by this because they “clearly know better.”

“They appear to be motivated, in part, because the president doesn’t like to lose and never admits loss,” Obama responded, adding, “I’m more troubled by the fact that other Republican officials who clearly know better are going along with this, are humoring him in this fashion.”

Obama was interviewed by “60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley about his memoir “A Promised Land.” CBS released a short excerpt that dealt with the 2020 election and Trump’s refusal to concede.

The televised interview will air on Sunday.

Barack Obama – “that’s what I do… that’s what I do…”

While campaigning for Joe Biden in Flint Michigan last week, former President Barack Obama walked to the stage for a campaign event. But along the way, the former president walked past a basketball court and calmly sunk a 3-pointer from the corner.

“That’s what I do,” Obama said, as he removed his mask and continued to the stage. “That’s what I do…”

Indeed.

Obama Destroys Trump’s Lie that he did nothing on Police Reform – Video

If I am to spend time detailing Trump’s lies, I would have to quit my job and do this fulltime… with overtime… Saturdays and Sundays… and I’ll have to hire a crew and give them the same schedule!

Luckily, The Washington Post is already doing this. They call it Trump’s Lie Tracker, and as of the writing of this post, Trump has already lied 19,128 times.

One of those lies was told on Tuesday when Trump signed his Waterdown Executive Order on police reform and said Obama did nothing to combat police brutality. A quick search on the Google machine showed that was a lie, and there’s video proof too.

Obama’s Statement on George Floyd’s Killing – “This shouldn’t be normal in 2020 America”

Barack Obama, the former President of the United States, shared his feelings on the recent killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police earlier this week. In his statement, the former president states:

From Barack Obama:

I want to share parts of the conversation I’ve had with friends over the past couple days about the footage of George Floyd dying face down on the street under the knee of a police officer in Minnesota.

The first is an email from a middle-aged African American businessman.

“Dude I gotta tell you the George Floyd incident in Minnesota hurt. I cried when I saw that video. It broke me down. The ‘knee on the neck’ is a metaphor for how the system so cavalierly holds black folks down, ignoring the cries for help. People don’t care. Truly tragic.”

Another friend of mine used the powerful song that went viral from 12-year-old Keedron Bryant to describe the frustrations he was feeling.

The circumstances of my friend and Keedron may be different, but their anguish is the same. It’s shared by me and millions of others.

It’s natural to wish for life “to just get back to normal” as a pandemic and economic crisis upend everything around us. But we have to remember that for millions of Americans, being treated differently on account of race is tragically, painfully, maddeningly “normal” – whether it’s while dealing with the health care system, or interacting with the criminal justice system, or jogging down the street, or just watching birds in a park.

This shouldn’t be “normal” in 2020 America. It can’t be “normal.” If we want our children to grow up in a nation that lives up to its highest ideals, we can and must be better.

It will fall mainly on the officials of Minnesota to ensure that the circumstances surrounding George Floyd’s death are investigated thoroughly and that justice is ultimately done. But if falls on all of us, regardless of our race or station – including the majority of men and women in law enforcement who take pride in doing their tough job the right way, every day – to work together to create a “new normal” in which the legacy of bigotry and unequal treatment no longer infects our institutions or our hearts.

President Obama is “Eager to go” against Trump

Now that Bernie Sanders has ended his campaign for Presidency, sources close to former President Barack Obama says the former President is anxious to get into the campaign against Donald Trump.

The former president has stayed out of the Democratic primary, but sources say he is anxious to endorse his former vice president, Joe Biden, and become an active player in the general election campaign against President Trump.

Democrats across the country are also ready for his entry.

“IT IS TIME,” Doug Landry, a former Hillary Clinton aide, wrote Wednesday, tweeting a cartoon image of Obama as superman. “RELEASE THE SUPER SURROGATE.”

Sources close to the former president is ready, but that he and Biden are also conscious of the coronavirus pandemic dominating the country and changing the nature of politics.

Biden actually spoke by phone with Trump on Monday to discuss the pandemic, and Sanders made it clear that the spreading virus was one reason he ended his campaign on Wednesday despite the urgings of some supporters to continue.

“He’s eager to go,” said one source close to Obama. “He’s been waiting for this election for almost four years.”

Obama to Voters – “Restore Some Sanity In Our Politics”

The coming midterm elections should be taken seriously, as a chance to “restore some sanity in our politics,” Former President Barack Obama said at a campaign event in California on Saturday – a clear swipe against Donald Trump and the normalization of insanity since Trump won the White House.

Obama didn’t mention President Donald Trump by name during a 20-minute speech Saturday in the key Southern California battleground of Orange County but the allusions were clear.

“We’re in a challenging moment because, when you look at the arc of American history, there’s always been a push and pull between those who want to go forward and those who want to look back, between those who want to divide and those are seeking to bring people together, between those who promote the politics of hope and those who exploit the politics of fear,” he said.

His appearance — one day after a strongly worded critique of Trump at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign — touched on themes of retirement security, climate change and education.

“If we don’t step up, things can get worse,” the former president told the audience at the Anaheim Convention Center. “In two months, we have the chance to restore some sanity to our politics. We have the chance to flip the House of Representatives and make sure there are real checks and balances in Washington.”

Barack Obama Asks for Help in Puerto Rico Catastrophe

While Donald Trump foolishly wasted precious time attacking black players in the NFL for peacefully protesting the slayings of black people by police, former president Barack Obama continued his efforts to bring attention to the suffering in Puerto Rico.

In a tweet on Tuesday, the former president shared a video he made with other former presidents and asked Americans to donate.

“We’re expanding our efforts to help Puerto Rico & the USVI, where our fellow Americans need us right now. Join us at ‪oneamericaappeal.org.”

The current occupant in the White House has been under criticism lately for manufacturing the NFL controversy while ignoring the Puerto Rico catastrophe. He got carried away last weekend while speaking at a rally in Alabama, and called on NFL owners to “fire” any “son of a bitch” that keeled in protest during the rendition of the National Anthem.

The man who took an oath to protect Americans and our rights to peacefully protest, who took an oath to uphold the Constitution clearly knows nothing about the Constitution and people’s First Amendment.

Obama Spoke to Thousands in Berlin – “We Can’t Hide Behind a Wall” – Video

It’s a tale of two very different men. While Donald Trump ran around the Middle East backtracking on all his campaign promises to appease the audience, Former President, Barack Obama spoke to tens of thousands in Berlin.

Accompanied by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the former president spoke about the Affordable Care Act and the continued Republican onslaught on the law.

“Obviously, some of the progress that we made is imperiled, because there is still a significant debate taking place in the United States,” he said, according to NPR. Though Obama noted that it did not insure all Americans, it did help an overwhelming amount of citizens. “For those 20 million people, their lives have been better,” he said. “And we’ve set a standard for what’s possible that people can build on.”

The former President also hit Trump and his “build a wall” slogan, saying, “we can’t isolate ourselves. We can’t hide behind a wall.”

Let’s Compare Obama’s “Scandals” to Trump’s Scandals – Video

I remember the times when some in the press stumbled over themselves to pin a scandal on former president, Barack Obama. It wasn’t easy, so the simplest things were often blown up into a so-called “scandal.”

From Obama putting his foot on his desk in the Oval office, to the color of a suit he wore, to him chewing gum, were blown up into a “scandal.” Now compare those actions to those of Donald Trump, and the obvious obstruction of justice soup he is now boiling in.
