Michelle Obama Comments on Justin Bieber – Motherly Love

What would first lady Michelle Obama, a mother of two girls, do if she also had a son — or more to the point, a 19-year old international pop star with a penchant for fast cars, private jets and alcohol named Justin Bieber?

“I would pull him close. You know, I don’t know if it would be advice as much as action,” Obama said in a recent interview with Univision Radio host Enrique Santos. “I would be very present in his life right now. And I would be probably with him a good chunk of the time, just there to talk, to figure out what’s going on in his head, to figure out who’s in his life and who’s not, you know.”

And Obama is not the only one at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. being asked to weigh in on Bieber’s case.

A petition created on the White House’s “We the People” site calling for the government to deport Bieber and revoke his green card has garnered more than 250,000 signatures — far exceeding the 100,000 signature threshold to require an official response.

“That response will come I’m sure relatively soon,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said last week.

The petition, which was filed on the day Bieber was arrested for an alleged DUI and drag racing, says: “We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked.”

Michelle Obama, who was not asked about the petition during her radio interview, was nothing but motherly when it came to the famous wayward teen who could face a trial in Florida as early as March 3.

“I found that to be the case with my kids,” she said. “They just want you near, you know — they want that advice from a parent. They want to see you on a daily basis, you know, because the thing is he’s still a kid. He’s still growing up. So, I would pull him close.”

Michelle Obama is Not Ruling Out Plastic Surgery

WASHINGTON (AP) — Michelle Obama turns 50 this week, and she isn’t ruling out future use of plastic surgery or Botox.

The first lady tells People magazine in an interview hitting newsstands on Friday, her birthday, that women should be free to do whatever they need to do to feel good.

Mrs. Obama adds that she doesn’t imagine resorting to plastic surgery or Botox but that she’s also learned to “never say never.”

The first lady has never missed a health checkup, including a mammogram or Pap smear, and has had a colonoscopy.

As for diet and exercise, Mrs. Obama says she doesn’t “obsess” about what she eats but makes sure to include fruit and vegetables.

Her workouts have evolved to include things like yoga that she says will keep her flexible.

Michelle Obama is Chilling in Oprah’s Maui Pad

She packed up the president and the kids and shipped them back to the White House following their Hawaii vacation, then the First Lady jumped on a plane and flew over to Oprah’s 12 bedroom Maui escape.

The First Lady — who turns 50 next Friday — stayed behind when her hubby went back to the Oval Office.  She island hopped from Oahu to Maui … and went directly to Oprah’s 12-bedroom spread.

A photog on the island tells TMZ … Michelle will have company, as in Oprah.

Sources tell us security on the island is airtight, with SWAT teams and just about every other resource securing wide perimeters around Michelle. 

It’s truly a lady’s vacation.  Sasha and Malia went back with dad.

THE FIRST LADY: We know how busy this time of year is for everyone, so we’re not going to take much of your time.

But we did want to take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas, from our family to yours.

THE PRESIDENT: This is a season for millions of Americans to be together with family, to continue long-held holiday traditions, and to show our gratitude to those we love. And along the way, some of us might even watch a little basketball or eat some Christmas cookies, too.

Michelle Obama Tells Of Her Biggest Fashion Mistake – Wearing Short Pants

In an appearance on BET’s 106 & Park, The First Lady of the United States was asked a question about any regrets she might have with her wardrobe. The First Lady answered;

“I am kind of always happy with what I’m wearing, I think,” she said. “Sometimes I forget I’m the first lady and I’m running around in shorts. I know the first time we went on a family vacation, I had shorts on getting off of Air Force One and that created a huge stink because people were like, ‘She’s wearing shorts getting off of Air Force One!’ And I thought, ‘What? We’re on vacation!’ It was hot!” She added, “So I’ve avoided shorts getting off of Air Force One.”

First Lady Michelle Obama Says America is Ready for a Female President

US First Lady Michelle Obama says in remarks published Friday that America is ready for a woman president, but would not comment on prospects for Hillary Clinton getting the job.

Obama’s comments came in an interview with Parade magazine, excerpts of which were published on its website.

Asked if she thinks the country will see a female president in her lifetime, the wife of President Barack Obama said: “Yes, I think the country is ready for it. It’s just a question of who’s the best person out there.”

She declined to comment on the prospects for Clinton running to succeed Obama in 2016.

Coming Soon – Michelle Obama’s Rap Album

Michelle Obama is an accomplished lawyer, mother of two and, of course, the first lady. And now, she’s adding hip-hop artist to her impressive resume.

The first lady is lending her star power to a new rap album to inspire people to live healthier, more active lives.

Before you get your hopes up too high, no, the first lady does not actually rap on the album. But she is playing a speaking role in a new song titled “Everybody,” featuring Jordin Sparks, Doug E. Fresh, Dr. Oz and the Hip Hop Doc.

Obama teamed up with Partnership for a Healthier America to make the album as part of her Let’s Move! healthy eating initiative.

The record, “Songs for a Healthier America,” features music by Matisyahu, Travis Barker, Artie Green, Ashanti and Monifah, among others, and includes songs titled “U R What You Eat,” “Veggie Luv” and “Hip Hop F.E.E.T.”

Duelling First Ladies

I’ll admit, I got more than a little excited about this…

After becoming China’s president in March, Mr. Xi Jinping has made playing footsie with President Barack Obama one of his first priorities. The strained relationship between China and America has become even more so over trade disputes, allegations of Chinese cyber espionage and America’s decision to assertive itself more deeply into the Asia-Pacific region — a move the Chinese government is not at all happy about.

However, amidst all the political jostling between the head-of-states, both American and Chinese citizens will get to delight in the prospects of their significant others, Michelle Obama and Peng Liyuan, duelling it out for title of “Best First Lady, Ever!”

Of course we’re not talking fisticuffs of any kind (Michelle is indeed in excellent physical condition, but Peng was an actual soldier in the Chinese Liberation Army!), but a competition of style, grace, formidability, political prowess and charm. In my opinion, up til now Michelle has had no 21st century competition on any of these fronts, but I’m getting the impression that Mrs Xi Jingping is going to be a strong contender.

And like America’s First Lady, Peng Liyuan is a charmer.

She’s taken center-stage during Mr. Xi’s tour of Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, exchanging high fives with youngsters and trying her hands at playing steel drums for delighted audiences.

Liyuan has accepted offers from China’s Ministry of Health and World Health Organization in Geneva to become a “goodwill ambassador” in the promotion of HIV/AIDS awareness, the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis and the support of antismoking health campaigns.

The glamorous 50 y.0. Peng is also one of China’s most prominent folk singers, taking top billing at the country’s gala military concert at Chinese New Years for over 20 years. And as a former entertainer, it will be safe to conclude that she’ll know the power of just the right wardrobe!

China’s leaders have kept their wives discreetly in the background ever since the disastrous rise and fall of Chairman Mao Tse-tung’s fourth wife, Jiang Qing, who used her marriage to Mao to seize political power in China in the 60’s and 70’s. President Xi’s election marks a game change from the status quo.

The media has played Michelle’s Obama’s absence at the recent meet-and-greet with President Jinping, Liyuan and President Obama, as a snub of China’s new First Lady. I think this assertion is ludicrous and uncharacteristic of Mrs. O, who exhibits nothing but total dedication and loyalty to her husband’s political career. However, she has stated and made it clear on more than one occasion, that she is ‘First Mother’ first and foremost to her daughters. You’ve gotta respect that.

No official word yet on when the two First Ladies will “face-off”, but you can bet when they do–all eyes will be on them.

Michelle Obama Confronts Heckler – “Listen to me, or you can take the mic.”

Her name us not Barack,  it’s Michelle. She wasn’t elected to public office, she is married to an office holder. And she does not write policies, implement policies or sign bills into law. That job belongs to Congress and the guy she married. His name is Barack.

Yet, for some strange reason, some people think that going to, and interrupting a speech by Michelle is a way to get their point heard. That was apparently the thinking of a gay rights activist, when she began shouting at Michelle at a fundraising speech on Tuesday.

Her name is Ellen Sturtz, and she apparently wanted Michelle – the unelected woman married to a public official – to do something about the government doing business with companies that may or may not be friendly to gays.

Again, Michelle is not a public official and she responded appropriately,  telling the heckler, “… wait, wait, wait. One of the things I don’t do well is this.”

Sturtz continued her plea for action, leaving Michelle no other choice but to leave the stage.

The video below shows the First Lady in a direct confrontation with the heckler, telling the heckler, that she is prepared to leave the event if the behavior continued. “Listen to me, or you can take the mic,” the First Lady said.

The heckler was eventually escorted from the premises.

Virginia School Board Member Faces Ouster After Sending Racist Michelle Obama Emails

A string of racist emails and controversial remarks have shaken up a school board in southeastern Virginia’s Isle of Wight County, and now one of the people responsible is facing intense pressure to resign.

On Thursday, board members voted 4 to 1 to officially call for their colleague Herb DeGroft to step down over emails he sent this month from his board email account attacking first lady Michelle Obama. DeGroft was the only one who voted against the measure.

According to NBC12, one of the emails DeGroft sent to colleagues depicted bare-breasted, African female warriors along with the caption, “Michelle Obama’s high school reunion.” Another message claimed the first lady was paid $50 to model in National Geographic.

The emails didn’t stop with DeGroft’s initial sending. Board of Supervisors Vice Chairman Byron “Buzz” Bailey forwarded them to other board members and county employees. Bailey drew criticism earlier this month for saying “the South will rise again” during a board meeting on budgetary issues. Those comments, as well as his involvement with the racist emails, led to the resignation of Isle of Wight Division Superintendent Katrise Perera.

First Lady Of The United States Makes Appearance At The Oscars

Appearing via streaming video from the White House, Mrs. Obama said all of the nominees demonstrated that “we can overcome any obstacle.”

She said that message is “especially important for our young people” and thanked Hollywood for encouraging children “to open their imaginations.”

The first lady was introduced by Jack Nicholson, who noted that the best picture trophy is usually announced solo.

Mrs. Obama wore a silver, art deco-inspired gown by Indian-born American fashion designer Naeem Khan. It was the same dress she wore for the Obamas’ dinner with the nation’s governors at the White House on Sunday night.
