Obama Campaign Hits Flip Romney’s Chinese Connection

A new ad from the Obama Campaign hits Flip Romney where it hurts – in China. Yes, China, where Romney has made millions of dollars from outsourcing American jobs for cheap labor and a huge profits.

The Associated Press reports;

The 30-second spot opens with a clip of Romney during a 2011 Republican primary debate. He says “the Chinese are smiling all the way to the bank taking our jobs and taking a lot of our future. And I am not willing to let that happen.”

A narrator responds that Romney “made a fortune letting it happen.”

The Obama ad refers to a newspaper account about the role Romney’s firm played with companies that were “pioneers” in helping outsource jobs. It pointed to one business that said it was a “one-stop shop for their outsource requirements.”

“Mitt Romney’s not the solution. He’s the problem,” the narrator says.

Mitt Romney Jeopardized Foreign Affairs for Political Gain

Senior Obama strategist David Axelrod hammered likely GOP nominee Mitt Romney for his criticism of the administration’s handling of Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng.

“I think what’s shameful is when presidential candidates are so craven to score political points that they speak irresponsibly on half information at a time when the president is trying, and the administration is trying to resolve a situation that is very, very sensitive and very difficult,” Axelrod said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”

Chen, a blind human rights activist who has been under house arrest, sought refuge in the U.S. embassy last week. A deal to allow Chen to live with his family and receive regular contact with U.S. diplomats quickly unraveled last week after Chen said his family had been threatened by Chinese officials and that he wanted to leave the country.

Romney called the incident “dark day for freedom” and “a day of shame for the Obama administration.”

“We want to help Mr. Chen achieve his goal, which is to come here, and we want to do it in accordance with our values, and we want to be successful in doing that. And we’re making some progress in that regard,” said Axelrod. “But it doesn’t help to have candidates blunderbussing around, trying to score political points, when we’re in the middle of that process.”

Jon Huntsman Compares the Republican Party to the Communist Party in China

I’ve always liked Jon Huntsman because he spoke the truth, and that is something you can’t say about members of today’s Republican party. Over the weekend, Huntsman stuck to this uncommon trait of telling the truth and called out the Republican party for what they really are… Communists!

Former Republican candidate Jon Huntsman took a battle axe to his own party, comparing it to China’s Communist Party and criticizing it’s standard bearer in a wide-ranging interview at the 92nd Street Y Sunday night.

Recounting his first experience on the presidential debate stage in Iowa last August, Huntsman says he was struck by the question “Is this the best we could do?”

Huntsman, the former Utah governor and once President Barack Obama’s Ambassador to China, expressed disappointment that the Republican Party disinvited him from a Florida fundraiser in March after he publicly called for a third party.

“This is what they do in China on party matters if you talk off script,” he said.

Huntsman said he regrets his decision to oppose a 10-to-1 spending cuts to tax increase deal to cut the deficit at the Iowa debate lamenting: “if you can only do certain things over again in life.”

“What went through my head was if I veer at all from my pledge not to raise any taxes…then I’m going to have to do a lot of explaining,” he explained. “What was going through my mind was ‘don’t I just want to get through this?'”

That decision, Huntsman said, “has caused me a lot of heartburn.”

Huntsman jokingly blamed his failed candidacy in part on his wife, Mary Kaye, who told him she’d leave him if he abandoned his principles.

“She said if you pandered, if you sign any of those damn pledges, I’ll leave you,” Huntsman recounted.

“So I had to say I believe in science — and people on stage look at you quizzically as though you’re was an oddball,” Huntsman said, explaining why he was “toast” in Iowa.

President Obama will File Trade Case Against China

Two weeks ago, President Obama formed the Trade Enforcement Unit to investigate unfair economic practices by other countries.

But even as that organization comes online, the President is taking additional steps to ensure that American products are competing on a level playing field with the rest of the world.

That’s why he made an announcement this morning in the White House Rose Garden:

We’re bringing a new trade case against China — and we’re being joined by Japan and some of our European allies. This case involves something called rare earth materials, which are used by American manufacturers to make high-tech products like advanced batteries that power everything from hybrid cars to cell phones.

We want our companies building those products right here in America. But to do that, American manufacturers need to have access to rare earth materials — which China supplies. Now, if China would simply let the market work on its own, we’d have no objections. But their policies currently are preventing that from happening. And they go against the very rules that China agreed to follow.

The reasoning behind this effort is simple: President Obama believes that it’s too important for American manufacturers to be able to compete in these growing industries for the U.S. government to stand by and do nothing.

China State Media Calls Washington “Irresponsible”

China is speaking out, and it’s apparently not happy. As the world sits on pins and needles, watching the unnecessary man-made crisis going on in Washington in reference to raising the debt ceiling, China, the biggest “investor” in the United States economy, is voicing their displeasure, calling Washington’s antics “political brinkmanship” and “dangerously irresponsible.”

The piece was written by the government controlled, Chinese State Media, and is attributed to Xinhua, and written by Deng Yushan.

As the Aug. 2 deadline approaches for Washington to raise its borrowing limit and avoid a catastrophic debt default, deeply divided U.S. politicians remain stubbornly engaged in what is widely seen as a game of chicken.

Given the United States’ status as the world’s largest economy and the issuer of the dominant international reserve currency, such political brinkmanship in Washington is dangerously irresponsible, for it risks, among other consequences, strangling the still fragile economic recovery of not only the United States but also the world as a whole.

Analysts worldwide have already painted a grim picture. Although an exact outcome of a Washington unable to pay its bills is yet to be known, they warn that a U.S. default would trigger massive repercussions throughout global financial markets.

The piece also laments the reality of divided government in America, and refers to the “donkey and the elephant,” saying,

It is arguably true that the ongoing tug of war in Washington is Uncle Sam’s own business, as the United States has not yet defaulted on its debt. However, the ugliest part of the saga is that the well-being of many other countries is also in the impact zone when the donkey and the elephant fight. The potential collateral damage is way too heavy.

With leadership comes responsibility. It is unfortunate and disappointing that when political leaders in Washington spar over who is doing good for their country, they take little account of the world’s economic soundness.

With less than 3 days before the August 2nd deadline, negotiations are ongoing. The plan that is drawing the most attention now is the Reid Plan, that calls for Zero revenue and $2.4 trillion in spending cuts. The point of contention between Democrats and Republicans now is the timing and a Constitutional amendment. Democrats want the debt ceiling to be raised past the next election in November 2012, while Republicans want it raised for a few months. Republicans are also trying to get a “balance budget amendment” added to the constitution – a measure being pushed by the Teaparty.

Donald Trump Has Decided To Run… In His Mind

In a telephone interview yesterday, Donald Trump broke the news that he will seek the presidency… in his mind that is.

In my mind, I have already decided,” Trump, 64, said in a telephone interview yesterday. “I am going to announce. But I can’t do anything until the show ends.

Trump said he will focus on “making our country rich and respected,” by creating jobs, boosting the economy and stopping China and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries from taking advantage of the U.S.

Many people have already concluded that The Donald is not running. They call his stunt over these past few weeks, a sad and pathetic attempt to garnish more publicity for his show, Celebrity Apprentice and his many financial endeavors. They point to the fact that The Donald has pulled this stunt before as evidence that he is simply not serious.

But what if he is? What if Trump is intent on proving his detractors wrong and is hellbent on living up to the pompous, egotistical excuse for a man we’ve seen on exhibit in recent weeks and actually try his hand at running  for the most powerful position in the world? A position that he has absolutely no competency in ever performing?

The decision to run will be a liberal’s dream. We’re, quite frankly, not sure who will be more entertaining  – Palin, Trump or Bachmann?

Pres. Obama will now be called “The Angry Black Man”

In a time of turmoil – fighting two wars, going through the worst economic recession since the Great Depression, dealing with unemployment figures presently at 9.7% nationwide, the international issues regarding Israel and Palestine, China, Iran, Russia to name a few and now the Deepwater Horizon oil spill caused by BP –  president Obama has so far kept a cool head trying to navigate through all these obstacles. And that’s what is expected in times of trials and hardship, someone who knows the issues, has a plan to get past the issues and is keeping a calm head while navigating through the issues.

President Barack Obama

Conservatives however wants a screeming, crying and confused leader who gets distracted by every issue that comes up and start throwing a fit. They’re not concerned about the plans in place to deal with the issues. They’re only concerned about the theatrics of a president who drops everything and pop up in every television shot, crying about what’s going on and the Armageddon of the situation.

Well it seems that the president heard their cry for more emotions. He seem to have lost his “cool” in an interview with NBC’s Today Show host Matt Lauer. Mr Lauer asked the following question;

Critics are now talking about your style which is the first time I’ve heard that in a long time. And they’re saying,”here’s a guy who likes to be known as cool and calm and collected, and this isn’t the time for cool, calm and collected. That this is not the time to meet with experts and advisors, this is a time to spend more time in the Gulf and, I never thought I’ll say this to a president, but kick some butt.”

President Obama chuckles at the suggestion, then replied;

“I was down there a month ago, before most of these talking heads were even paying attention to the gulf,” he told Lauer. “A month ago I was meeting with fishermen down there, standing in the rain talking about what a potential crisis this could be. And I don’t sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar; we talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers, so I know whose ass to kick.”

They have accused President Obama of being too cool. Saying that he’s not showing enough emotions and because of that, they accuse him of being disconnected from the common folk. This group of people have put themselves opposite of President Obama on every single issue, so what will they do now that President Obama is taking a harder stance?

The Conservatives and Republicans will now called him the “angry black man.”
