Ben Carson on Donald Trump’s Politics – It’s “Mud Pit Stuff”

“I don’t have any reaction,” said Ben Carson, when asked in an interview to respond to Trump’s attacks on him. “I don’t do, you know, mud pit stuff. There are so many other important things to deal with.”

That was Ben Carson taking the high road after Donald Trump unleashed his expected political attacks on Carson. In case you haven’t been following, Ben Carson has taken the lead from Donald Trump in Iowa, and like the mature politician that he is, Donald Trump has taken to the campaign stump to dump on Carson.

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Trump said that he cannot understand the numbers from Iowa and cannot figure out why Carson is leading him in the state.

“I’ve done really well with the evangelicals and with the tea party and everything and I just don’t understand the number, but I accept the number,” Trump said. “It means I have to work a little bit harder in Iowa.”

Later on in the interview, Trump criticized Carson on trade, saying “I like Ben, but he cannot do with trade like I do. He can’t do with a lot of things like I do, so we’ll just have to see what happens.”

On immigration, Trump complained that Carson is “very weak” on immigration, saying “He’s very, very weak on immigration and I’m very strong on immigration. Ben Carson is very, very weak on immigration. He believes in amnesty strongly. He believes in citizenship. He’s going to give citizenship to people who are here illegally — you can’t do that.”

And on the stump, Trump hit Carson’s “energy level,” saying Carson’s has “lower energy than Bush.”

Yep, the mud pit is where Trump lives, it’s where he dwells. It’s all he knows and for now, Carson has decided not to descend to his level. Unfortunately for Carson, the mud pit is apparently where much of the Republican base lives, that’s why they are so in love with the donald. They understand him, he understands them. They all wallow in the mud together.

Fox News Contributor Calls Hillary Clinton “a professional at lying” – Audio

Conservatives are falling over themselves trying to deflate the fact that Hillary Clinton wiped the floor with Republicans over the last week. And in her feeble attempt to do just that, American Family Association and Fox News contributor Sandy Rios, went out of her way to call Hillary Clinton “a consummate professional at lying and covering up,” when she discussed Clinton’s recent appearance at the Benghazi hearing.

I thought it was interesting how they conducted the hearing, that they had – what I would describe it as unending answers – for Hillary Clinton. They just let her go on and on and on, and she is wonderful at this. Hillary Clinton is the consummate apologist, and she has had probably more experience than any living woman in our country right now at defending herself against scandals under oath, of parsing her words. She is aconsummate professional at lying and covering up. And so by even having her there and letting her go on in unending fashion is a disaster just waiting to happen.

Republicans Want Easier Access to Gun Silencers – Mass Murderers Rejoice

With all the massacres in America these days where crazy lunatics use guns to murder innocent people, you’d think every effort would be made to save lives.

Think about it. If the murderer in the next classroom has silencers and noise suppressors installed on his gun, then chances are other students might not be aware of the carnage taking place next door. With these sound suppresses installed, the murderer now has elemental surprise on his side when he goes from classroom to classroom committing his crime.

That element of surprise is exactly what House Republicans are trying to secure for everyone,  especially those individuals who will benefit the most from the devices – the crazy mass murderers.

House Republicans on Thursday introduced a bill that would eliminate a federal tax on gun silencers and would weaken licensing requirements that currently make the devices more difficult to buy than most firearms.

The Hearing Protection Act of 2015, proposed by Rep. Matt Salmon (R-Ariz.) and co-sponsored by 10 of his colleagues, would do this by removing silencers, which are also called suppressors, from the purview of the National Firearms Act, instead putting them in the same regulatory category as long guns. As its title suggests, the bill’s sponsors are framing it as an effort to keep shooters from damaging their ears.

In 1934, in the wake of Prohibition-era violence carried out by heavily armed bootleggers and gangsters, sound-suppressing devices were included on a list of NFA weaponry and other hardware, alongside firearms like machine guns and short-barreled shotguns. Today, purchases of silencers are still subject to a $200 fee, which covers an extensive FBI background check that can take months to complete.

Republican Senator Calls Out Ted Cruz for Lying to GOP Base – Audio

In a recent interview with Sirius XM’s Pete Dominick, former Oklahoma senator Tom Coburn called out his fellow Republican senator, Ted Cruz, as a liar who sells the Republican base a bag of bull, that they keep buying.

In th interview, Coburn explained the bag of bull – something he called “the Cruz effect.”

“I call it the ‘Cruz effect! Look, when you tell people you can accomplish something that you can’t, for example, shutting down the government over the Affordable Care Act. When, in fact, you promise people in your speeches and your talk that we can do this, and by dinghy, we’re gonna get rid of the Affordable Care Act, and all we have to do is shut down the government.

“Well, that’s one thing to tell ’em that. It’s a whole other thing to be able to accomplish that, and build a coalition that once you shut it, that it doesn’t get opened up ’till you win.

“So what happens to that is, once you’ve told people that, and you’ve put your finger — ‘everybody that doesn’t believe exactly like I believe, you’re not a patriot, you don’t care about the country’ — what you do is you create greater disappointment in the hinterlands, because you gave them a false hope, knowing that you couldn’t accomplish it, but it was about yelling, and screaming, and waving the flag. And so what happens is, there becomes less confidence in the Congress and its ability to do its job.

“You know, I came out of the Senate with one of the most conservative ratings ever in the history of the Senate. You know, it was like 98.8% in terms of conservative. And yet, I compromised all the time to accomplish things that were good for the country.”

New Poll – Hillary Clinton Overtakes Bernie Sanders in Iowa

What a difference a Republican whipping party makes. Well, the so-called Benghazi hearing contributed to this new love for Hillary, but she has been on this wave of growing support since the last Democratic debate a little over a week ago.

And now this – Hillary Clinton has reclaimed the lead in Iowa from Bernie Sanders and it is a commanding lead. According to Quinnipiac University poll, Hillary Clinton now hold an 11 point lead over Bernie.

The poll of likely Democratic Caucus participants showed Clinton with 51 percent support to Sanders’ 40 percent. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley received 4 percent support. Quinnipiac’s Sept. 10 poll had Sanders leading Clinton 41-40 percent.

“A strong debate performance doesn’t always translate into better poll numbers, but it sure did for Hillary Clinton,” Quinnipiac assistant director Peter A. Brown said in a statement. “Clinton had been losing momentum among the key Iowa Caucus participants and last month was tied with Sen. Bernie Sanders, who seemed to have the momentum in Iowa and nationally. But the debate seemed to reverse that trend and once again she is the leader of the pack in Iowa,” he said.

Indeed, the poll found that a majority of those who watched the debate said she had won it.

The hilarious video posted by ABC News on their twitter account said, WATCH: @POTUS just made his best Grumpy Cat face—to impersonate “gloomy” GOP politicians. In the video, the president talked jokingly about the Republicans and the Benghazi fiasco they had yesterday. Then he spoke about their gloomy outlook on America!

“Overall though, we are making enormous progress and it does make you wonder why is it that Republican politicians are so down on America,” the President said. “Have you noticed that? I mean they are gloomy,” he said, making the face. “They’re like Grumpy Cat.”

Paul Ryan Demands “Family Time” – Voted Against Family Leave Bill

In the never ending saga that is the hypocrisy in the Republican Party, we bring you this little nugget from Paul Ryan.

One of the demands Paul Ryan made to the members of the Republican party last week, was that he get regular time off to spend with his family. According to Paul Ryan family time is very important and he wants to be around to see his kids grow up.

That’s a very fair and admirable statement.

But why wasn’t that same consideration given to other employees when the Paid Family Leave Bill hit the House floor for a vote? According to the results of the vote, Paul Ryan was one of the many Republicans who voted against the paid family leave bill.

To quote a report from the Jazebel on this topic, “perhaps if Paul Ryan hadn’t spent much of his political career fighting laws that promote realistic work-life balance for parents of all socioeconomic levels, asking for family time would make him look more like a hero and less like a hypocrite.”

Poll – Ben Carson Leads Donald Trump in Iowa

Donald Trump has been knocked off his pedestal in Iowa, as the crazy talk from Ben Carson is paying him huge benefits in the early voting state.

B

en Carson has knocked Donald Trump from his perch atop the field in Iowa, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll of Iowa Republicans.

Carson has opened up an 8 percentage point lead over Trump with the help of women and white evangelicals, who overwhelmingly favor the soft-spoken former neurosurgeon over the outspoken billionaire. About 28% of likely caucusgoers said they support Carson, 20% back Trump, 13% support Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and 10% are for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

The survey is the first major poll to find Trump trailing by a significant margin nationally or in the four early states since a CNN national poll taken June 26-28, which showed Trump behind Florida Gov. Jeb Bush 12% to 19%.

Report – The Average Gun Owner Owns 8 Guns

When the current leader in the Republican presidential nomination field campaigns and tells his audience that Obama is coming to get their guns, then naturally, those misguided folks run to the gun store to get more guns. So this new report stating that the average gun owner has 8 guns, is not surprising.

There are nearly twice as many guns in the average gun-owning household today as there were 20 years ago, according to new Wonkblog estimates based data from surveys and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. In 2013, there were an estimated 8.1 firearms in the typical gun-owning household, according to these data. In 1994, the average gun-owning household owned 4.2 guns.

These numbers comport with what survey research has shown for several years now: the share of gun-owning households has been declining over the past 20 years and possibly more, according to numbers from Gallup and the General Social Survey. On the other hand, domestic firearm production and imports of firearms have risen sharply, particularly in recent years. If those numbers are correct, it follows that increasing gun purchases are being driven primarily by existing owners stocking up rather than first-time buyers.

Now gun owners stocking up on guns is nothing new, but campaign lies from the likes of Donald Trump that the government was on its way to take your gun plays on the emotions of the few, and gun stores stay happy.

Democrats to GOP – Reimburse All Tax Payer’s Dollars Spent on Benghazi Committee

I’ll second that notion. I want my money back! I did not sanction this and the politics behind this committee stink!

In a letter sent to the Republican National Committee (RNC), Democratic leaders are demanding a reimbursement for the over $4.7 million already spent on the political witch-hunt called The Benghazi Special Committee.

“We write today to demand that the Republican National Committee reimburse the federal taxpayer for the costs incurred by the Select Committee on Benghazi. Over the past several weeks, several House Republicans have made clear what many observers have suspected all along: that the Select Committee has conducted a political inquisition aimed at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.”

The letter continued;

“Due to the political nature of the committee, we believe it is inappropriate that a reported 4.7 million taxpayer dollars were used to finance its operations and that the RNC subsequently orchestrated numerous fundraising opportunities in its wake.”

Joe Biden Will Not Run for President in 2016

Why should you have known Biden would decide not to run for President? Well because just days ago, Ed Henry, a Fox News reporter said his sources have confirmed that Joe Biden will run. And as history has shown, Fox News employees are usually wrong on the issues.

Vice President Joe Biden ended months of intense speculation about his political future on Wednesday by announcing he wouldn’t bseek the presidency, abandoning a dream he’s harbored for decades and putting Hillary Clinton in a stronger position to capture the Democratic nomination.

With his wife, Jill, and President Barack Obama at his side in the White House Rose Garden, Biden said the period of grieving his family has endured after the death of his son Beau meant that the window for a successful campaign “has closed.”

Still, Biden positioned himself as a defender of the Obama legacy and made clear he views himself as the best possible successor to the President. In tone, the remarks sounded like the kind of speech defending staunch Democratic values that he might have given had he reached the opposite conclusion.

“While I will not be a candidate, I will not be silent,” he said in a speech that highlighted Democratic themes on income inequality along with a call for a national movement to cure cancer. “I intend to speak out clearly and forcefully, to influence as much as I can where we stand as a party and where we need to go as a nation
