For Bachmann, Children Born Into Slavery Were Happier

Call her crazy, call her insane, call her deranged. But no matter what you call her, just don’t call Michele Bachmann a woman of intelligence. Michele Bachmann has stepped up to the plate, and signed a pledge claiming that children born under slavery, were better off than children born under President Obama’s Administration.

Yes, “dumb” and “stupid” also accurately describe this Republican contender for the 2012 Presidential election.

The pledge that caught Mrs. Bachmann’s attention was written by Bob Vander Plaats of Ohio and is called, “The Marriage Vow: A Declaration of Dependence upon MARRIAGE and FAMILY.” In it, the signee agrees to some very outlandish positions. All Republican candidates for President in 2012 are expected to sign the pledge – a pledge that calls for, among other things;

  • Reinstating Don’t Ask Don’t Tell – the military policy that requires military personal to keep their sexual orientation a secret. After a 17 year run in the military, this policy came to an end in December of 2010 when Congress voted and got it overturned.
  • Rejecting Sharia Islam and all other anti-woman, anti-human rights forms of totalitarian control. – Republicans, for whatever reasoning, seems to be under the impression that Sharia Law is coming to America, and the U.S Constitution, (which is what the laws of this nation are governed by) will be shredded to pieces.
  • “Recognition that robust childbearing and reproduction is beneficial to U.S. demographic, economic, strategic and actuarial health and security.” – Another attempt to ban abortion, and with the word “robust,” the implication is made that no matter how the pregnancy occurs, whether its through rape or incest, “childbearing and reproduction is beneficial to U.S demographic.”
  • A Federal Amendment to the U.S Constitution, defining marriage as an act between a man and a woman.
These are just some of the positions the signees of this pledge will be asked to uphold. But what really stands in the “Declaration of Dependence upon MARRIAGE and FAMILY” pledge, is the section that says this;
“Slavery had a disastrous impact on African-American families, yet sadly a child born into slavery in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA’s first African-American President.”
Cheryl Contee from Jack and Jill Politics said it best:

Given that families were broken up regularly for sales during slavery and that rape by masters was pretty common, this could not be more offensive. I mean, putting aside the statistics on this, which are likely off-base, I could not be more angry.

When will Republicans inquire with actual Black people whether or not we’re ok with invoking slavery to score cheap political points? It has to stop. It is the opposite of persuasive  and is another reason Republicans repel us. It’s hard to believe that Michele Bachmann would be foolish enough to sign this pledge.
The Desmoines Register reports that Michele Bachmann is the first Republican presidential hopeful to sign the pledge.
Oh Michele, just when we think we’ve seen how low you can go, you somehow manage to surprise us – proving once again that we should never underestimate your infinite stupidity.

Politics Republican Rick Santorum twitter United States

What Will You Find If You Google “Santorum?”

Today, another Republican joker pitched his hat in the ring, telling America that he is going to run for President in 2012. And immediately after Rick Santorum made it official, social network sites like Twitter went crazy. It seems that everyone has an opinion on whether or not Santorum should run, and most of the “tweets” were asking Americans to know their candidate, advising them to use google, like the tweet shown below:

So in an effort to shed a little more light on the subject, I took @paulfreid up on his challenge and googled “Santorum.” What I found was indeed scary! Below is part of the unbelievable results Google returned:

Comparing Gay Sex to Man-On-Dog and Sodomy.

In an interview with the Associated Press, as reported in USATODAY, the question of outlawing homosexuality was asked;

AP: I mean, should we outlaw homosexuality?

SANTORUM: I have no problem with homosexuality. I have a problem with homosexual acts. As I would with acts of other, what I would consider to be, acts outside of traditional heterosexual relationships. And that includes a variety of different acts, not just homosexual. I have nothing, absolutely nothing against anyone who’s homosexual. If that’s their orientation, then I accept that. And I have no problem with someone who has other orientations. The question is, do you act upon those orientations? So it’s not the person, it’s the person’s actions. And you have to separate the person from their actions.

AP: OK, without being too gory or graphic, so if somebody is homosexual, you would argue that they should not have sex?

SANTORUM: We have laws in states, like the one at the Supreme Court right now, that has sodomy laws and they were there for a purpose. Because, again, I would argue, they undermine the basic tenets of our society and the family. And if the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything. Does that undermine the fabric of our society? I would argue yes, it does. It all comes from, I would argue, this right to privacy that doesn’t exist in my opinion in the United States Constitution, this right that was created, it was created in Griswold — Griswold was the contraceptive case — and abortion. And now we’re just extending it out. And the further you extend it out, the more you — this freedom actually intervenes and affects the family. You say, well, it’s my individual freedom. Yes, but it destroys the basic unit of our society because it condones behavior that’s antithetical to strong healthy families. Whether it’s polygamy, whether it’s adultery, where it’s sodomy, all of those things, are antithetical to a healthy, stable, traditional family.

Every society in the history of man has upheld the institution of marriage as a bond between a man and a woman. Why? Because society is based on one thing: that society is based on the future of the society. And that’s what? Children. Monogamous relationships. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing. And when you destroy that you have a dramatic impact on the quality —

AP: I’m sorry, I didn’t think I was going to talk about “man on dog” with a United States senator, it’s sort of freaking me out.

SANTORUM: And that’s sort of where we are in today’s world, unfortunately. The idea is that the state doesn’t have rights to limit individuals’ wants and passions. I disagree with that. I think we absolutely have rights because there are consequences to letting people live out whatever wants or passions they desire. And we’re seeing it in our society.

AP: Sorry, I just never expected to talk about that when I came over here to interview you. Would a President Santorum eliminate a right to privacy — you don’t agree with it?

Rick then went on the Glenn Beck Show and defended his man-on-dog claims.

There’s more. We advise you to take @paulFreid’s advise and google Santorum.

Michele Bachmann Ignores A Challenge From A 10th Grader

Sixteen year old Amy Myers, a 10th grader and a lover of History and Civics, has formally issued a written challenge to Michele Bachmann, telling the congresswoman:  “Rep. Bachmann, the frequent inability you have shown to accurately and factually present even the most basic information about the United States led me to submit the following challenge, pitting my public education against your advanced legal education.”

Bachmann is trying to avoid the challenge, and she should. It is expected that Bachmann will announce her intentions to run for President in 2012, but she has, on numerous occasions, shown her limited knowledge of the most basic of American History. Bachmann even suggested that the Revolutionary War began in Concord, N.H., rather than Lexington and Concord, Mass. – just one example of where her knowledge of American history fails her.

Miss Myers explains in more details, the reason for her challenge below.

Poll Finds Almost 40% Don’t Believe Donald Was Born In The U.S. A

You can’t make this stuff up. A new USA Today/Gallop poll finds that almost 40% of Americans have doubts as to whether Donald Trump is a natural born citizen.

The poll, which questioned 1,013 adults finds that “not everyone is convinced Trump was born in the USA either: 43% say he definitely was born here, and 20% say he probably was; 7% say he definitely or probably was born in another country. Nearly three in 10 say they don’t know enough to say.” That’s 37% who cannot say with conviction that they believe Donald Trump was born in America.

Seems The Donald has some s’plainin’ to do.

No Specifics, But Hate Group Demands President Be Impeached

In the same style that has become the norm with today’s Republican party,–and that is the lack of specifics in any claim they make– a right winged group called Liberty Counsel is actively pushing for the impeachment or removal from office of President Obama. The group has been sending out emails to this effect, the latest which states;

[T]here is an unchecked arrogance, even a condescending, elitist mindset evident in the Obama White House. The President behaves as though he is somehow above the law!

This Administration seems to believe that the Constitution is pliable and subject to political expedience. They act  as though their insights are greater than our Founding Fathers and the statesmen who gave shape and content to the Constitution!

The Obama Administration presumes it is “bigger” than the presidency.

No man is bigger than the office he is elected to hold. Through carefully crafted checks and balances, our Founders made sure that no office holder would be more “empowered” than the Constitution allowed.

Barack Obama’s subversion of our Constitution must be stopped! Those colluding with him in Congress, the Administration, the federal bureaucracy, State offices, and any other position of public trust must also be held accountable.

Liberty Counsel is continuing to demand that elected officials (all of them!) live up to their Oaths of Office – or be FIRED, RECALLED, or IMPEACHED.

Again, words. Just words with no specifics. Anyone can say anything, but without facts of specifics, there’s nothing to act on…nothing.

Adapting the same mindset, one can use the same words above to indicate that Liberty Counsel is against the Constitution and should be shut down, like so…;

[T]here is an unchecked arrogance, even a condescending, elitist mindset evident in the Liberty Counsel Group. These right-winged Nut Jobs behave as though they are somehow above the law!

This Group seems to believe that the Constitution is pliable and subject to political expedience. They act  as though their insights are greater than our Founding Fathers and the statesmen who gave shape and content to the Constitution!

Liberty Counsel presumes  Rush The Nut Limbaugh is “bigger” than the presidency!

No Group is bigger than the Constitution. Through carefully crafted checks and balances, our Founders made sure that no nut jobs or their affiliated nut jobs, would be more “empowered” than the Constitution allowed.

Liberty Counsel’s subversion of our Constitution must be stopped! Those colluding with them must also be held accountable including  Republicans,The Tea Party,the Koch Brother’s etc..,

Americans are continuing to demand that Liberty Counsel (all of them!) live up to the truth – or be FIRED, SHUTDOWN, or INJECTED WITH SOME TRUTH SYNDROME TO DISCOVER WHO THEY’RE IN COLLUSION WITH.

See? It works both ways.

Muslim Man Confronted By Christian Conservatives. Video

Our Constitution demands the freedom of religion in these the United States of America. Are these just words written on a document that many considers sacred? Or is it just another one of our  rights that Conservative Christian Americans would prefer to eradicate?

Below, two different religions clash infront of the White House. One Muslim man tries to pray, and is surrounded by those of the ‘Christian’  faith.

I wonder if the Founding Fathers would approve of this scene.

Democrats Win On Partiot Act Extension

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH)

They call themselves “small government advocates,” yet, when the chance came to prove their idea of small government, John Boehner and the majority of Republicans voted to extend various parts of the Patriot Act set to expire at the end of February, with little debate on the House floor.

This first vote needed a two-thirds majority to limit debate, but failed with a final vote of 277 – 148, gaining 23 votes from the Teaparty who voted with Democrats to defeat the automatic extension.

The PATRIOT Act, officially called The USA PATRIOT ACT, acronym for Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001 – was signed into law by George Bush about a month after September 11th, 2001. The law allowed the United States Government and other law enforcement authorities the ability to legally check the telephone records, emails, medical, financial, and other records of United States citizens under the guise of “fighting terrorism.”

The controversial parts of the law that the “small government” Republicans wanted to continue included wire-tapping, the ability of the government to seize businesses or personal property and the tracking of non-US nationals suspected of being “lone-wolf” terrorists not tied to any extremist groups.

Being credited for convincing some in the Teaparty to vote against the extension is Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) who challenge them to stand up to their claims for a less invasive governemnt. In a statement, he said;

“The 112th Congress began with a historic reading of the U.S. Constitution. Will anyone subscribe to the First and Fourth Amendments tomorrow when the PATRIOT Act is up for a vote? I am hopeful that members of the Tea Party who came to Congress to defend the Constitution will join me in challenging the reauthorization.”

The measure now moves to the floor of the House of Representatives for debate. A simple majority is then needed to approve the extension.
