CNN Is Still Looking For The Missing MH370 – Stephen Colbert Reports

I’m not kidding. CNN is still out there looking for the missing Malaysia plane, and on May 1st, almost two months since the plane went missing, CNN is spending an unimaginable amount of time reporting on… nothing.

Stephen Colbert took on the network and does a fairly accurate depiction of what CNN does on a regular basis these days!

Stephen Colbert Explores Chuck Hagel’s Connection To Organizations That Don’t Exist

By now, you have all heard of the most recent reason why some Republicans are against Chuck Hagel‘s confirmation. For the few who haven’t heard, the latest scoop on Hagel – according to Republicans – is that he received money from a group called, “Friends of Hamas.”

Shocked? Well you should be. A little digging online found that Friends of Hamas does not exist. The idea of the fake organization came from a reporter in New York. But this little fact has not stop some Republicans in congress from naming the fictitious organization and its non-existent connection to Mr. Hagel, as one of their reasons for opposing Hagel’s confirmation. Take Republican/Teaparty Senator Rand Paul for example. Responding to a question about the so called, Friends of Hamas, the Senator said that he saw the information and that it is “more and more concerning.”

The information of course, is being pushed by a conservative website, Breitbart.com. Breitbart is the same site that fabricated a video of Shirley Sherrod, giving the impression that Sherrod had racist tendencies. The doctored video implied that Sherrod denied a white farmer the funds and information he needed. Due to the backlash on the video from Fox News and other conservative media, Sherrod was forced to resign as  Director of Rural Development for the United States Department of Agriculture. She later sued Breitbart.

Friends of Hamas does not exist, but Breitbart stands by their story and continues pushing this lie to Congressional Republicans and these Republicans have bought into it.

Stephen Colbert breaks it down in the video below.

Stephen Colbert Is Angry At “Those Liberal Hacks” At Fox News

Stephen Colbert is angry… well… maybe…! Apparently there are some “liberal hacks” at Fox News who thought they could ask the Republican vice presidential candidate questions in an interview. The nerve!

Ryan, the Republican candidate for vice-president, had a contentious interview with Chris Wallace over the 20 percent across-the-board tax cut he and GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney have proposed.

Colbert brushed off a study Wallace cited saying the plan would cost the U.S. $5 trillion over 10 years.

“True, not true, who cares?” Colbert said. “It’s over 10 years. Romney and Ryan will only be in office for eight of those. Let President [Michele] Bachmann worry about it in 2020. That’s what hindsight is for.”

Colbert was also unimpressed by Wallace’s refusal to accept Ryan’s explanation that the cuts were “revenue-neutral” and praised Ryan for saying it would “take too long” to explain the figures behind the proposal.

“Great answer,” Colbert said. “Why is it a great answer? It would take me too long to explain, but trust me, it was a great answer.”

Citizens United Elections Politics

Today’s Politics – Bought And Sold By The Super P.A.C.

The Supreme Court’s dumb decision in the Citizens United v The Federal Election Commission – where the Court ruled that Corporations are people, thus, their free speech must be protected by the first amendment of the United States Constitution – came under attack as Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert showed exactly how foolish this court’s decision really was.

Claiming that Corporations are people, the court’s decision allowed these Corporations to form ‘SuperPACS.’  These PACS then have the ability to “exercise their free speech” by funneling unlimited amounts of cash into the political system, as long as the candidate these PACS are backing is not directly involved. Call in, the buying of a candidate.

Meanwhile, the people… the real people, the ones the Constitution was written to protect… are drowned out by this unlimited cash of these SuperPACS and their voices, our voices, are silenced.

It takes the political humor of two comedians to show the not-so-funny side of what this Conservative-leaning Court has done.

It’s Official! Conservative Media Lies… A Lot!

We’re bringing you a bit of news we’ve already known for some time, but it feels good repeating it again – and again!  So just in case there’s anyone out there who doesn’t already know, this makes it official – one more time!

A new study confirms the following – that liberal reporters and pundits stick to the facts, while the conservatives’ excuse for a reporter/pundit simply make stuff up.

The most interesting conclusion of the report is the confirmation that liberals are accurate more often than conservatives. That may be the result of the inherent slant of factual information that was first identified by fake pundit Stephen Colbert who noted that “reality has a well-known liberal bias.”

The top performer in the study is Paul Krugman of the New York Times. The worst performer is uber-pundit George Will.

I am a little disappointed though, I thought Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh would have definitely tied for last. And let’s not forget a previous study that finds Fox News just makes stuff up.

Rush Limbaugh — Radio’s Number One Man Dumpling

Image via Wikipedia

Steven Colbert is “deeply offended,” by something Rush Limbaugh said. Limbaugh, the Conservative radio personality made a comment about the recent visit of Chinese president Hu Jintao. He made fun of Mr. Jintao’s Chinese accent saying, “I can’t comprehend anybody understanding it.”

Rush Limbaugh later mimics the Chinese president on the same show.

“Who on Earth can understand that Kung Pow jibber-jabber?” Colbert later responded on his program. “Off the top of my head I can only think of 1.5 billion people.”

Despite Rush’s obvious disrespect for the leader of a foreign country, this is not what offended Steven Colbert.

Colbert, who often takes the conservative point of view on his comedy show, was more upset that the “man dumpling” copied a Chinese character Colbert himself started. Colbert then asked Limbaugh to stick to his usual routine of making fun of black people and people with Parkinson’s disease.
