The local chapter of the NAACP has sent a letter to the home owner asking him to remove the decoration because of the horrid past it represents. But the Utah man, Kevin Van Miltenberg, said no way!
“When I was making it in the first place, it never crossed my mind at all, ‘Hey, one day someone might take offense to it. I don’t make these to be offensive at all. I just make them for fun and for people to enjoy.”
Van Miltenberg has been building animatronic displays for Halloween for the past six years, adding new lifesize decorations to his front yard each year. The 7-foot-tall hanged man — dressed in denim with a hood over its head and white plastic hands bound behind its back — was the first animatronic prop he built.
“I like to do stuff that’s very realistic,” Van Miltenberg said, as the hanged man spasmed repeatedly at the end of its rope. “I hooked it up to a simple windshield wiper motor and made it come to life. It’s not to be offensive. It’s a Halloween prop.”
“I felt violated, and my body said wait a minute, this ain’t right. So I was uneasy,” said shopper Chris Minor, who then recorded 3 minutes of the ordeal on his cell phone. “I thought it may have been Halloween related, maybe an employee playing games, but this was rated-X material, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I was taken aback, very frustrated, and appalled, and angered by what I heard,”
Esther Adler-O’Keefe, the principal at Southampton High School, was just trying to reach new kids through music when she made her appearance in JR’s “Best Friends” music video, featuring Trey Songz.
In the video, the principal is with her husband and leaving for vacation. Apparently leaving the rapper in charge, the principal tells JR to have a good time, but she warns, “enjoy yourself. Just remember, security’s here.”
After the couple walks out the door, the twerking began in earnest. And the content of that video along with the principal’s association with it cost her dearly!
“The video in question showcases behaviors and language use that is not promoted by the Southampton School District,” the superintendent Dr. Scott Farina tells the Southampton Press. “In fact, we actively teach our students the importance of good character and making smart choices. Additionally, this is not representative of who we are as a district, nor of our students and staff.” Twerking does not fall under “smart choices” in Southampton, Long Island, apparently.
He has everything he can ever want now, and for generations to come. Starving or having to go to a soup line will never happen to Rush Limbaugh. But hearing him talk about how things were in 1933 as compared to how they are now, you get the feeling that Rush would prefer seeing soup lines make a comeback, would prefer seeing other Americans starve, jobless and homeless.
After rambling on about the unemployment and homelessness then and now, and what was different then as oppose to now, Rush concluded;
In 1933, if you were out of work, you didn’t eat. You had to stand in a soup line and depend on charity. In 2015, you can be among the 94 million not working and have a roof over your head, have a cell phone, a car, your air conditioned home probably– or your home is probably air conditioned and, you’re eating as much as you want.
He then ask himself, “What you want people to starve?” He mockingly answered, “No.” He ended his diatribe with, ” If you can eat, and have a house, and a big screen, and a cell phone without working, who in the world is paying for it? Back during the Great Depression, if you couldn’t pay for it, you didn’t have it.”
It should come as no surprise that the people at Fox News don’t believe every American deserve the right to vote, and they have pushed the Republican’s voter suppression agenda while at the same time demanding “freedom!”
The hypocrisy is palpable.
In the following conversation, one of the host at Fox News is utterly shocked that the Supreme Court voted in favor of voting rights for all Americans.
STEVE DOOCY: The state of California has passed legislation that will automatically register eligible voters when they obtain or renew a driver’s license. Governor Jerry Brown says it’s a way to increase voter turnout, but critics warn the measure could add millions of illegal people to the rolls because the state allows undocumented aliens to get driver’s licenses. That’s a problem, isn’t it, Judge Napolitano?
ANDREW NAPOLITANO: Yes, yes. Good morning, Steve. Yes, it is a problem because the other states, including our own home state of New Jersey, which permit registration at the time you get a driver’s license, have you go through another procedure in which you have to demonstrate citizenship.
DOOCY: You’ve got to prove you’re here legally.
NAPOLITANO: Correct, correct. California, it’s one procedure. You may not even know that when you get your driver’s license you’re also being registered to vote. And there’s no requirement of proof of citizenship. What’s the significance of proof of citizenship? All 50 states limit voting to citizens except when the state allows you to sort-of sneak in without proving your citizenship by getting a driver’s license instead.
DOOCY: Sure. And one of the things they’d look to is the Supreme Court in the past has said that the right to drive in the United States is fundamental. However, they don’t say you have to be an American citizen, per se. But what about the right to vote?
NAPOLITANO: You know, there’s a lot of debate without getting too academic about what the right to vote is. Is it a fundamental right that comes from our humanity like thought and speech and association and worship and self-defense? Or is it a privilege given by the government? In my view, the Supreme Court has wrongly said it’s a fundamental right. And once it said that, states like California decided to allow people to vote who aren’t qualified by law to vote because of the fundamental aspect.
DOOCY: Those are for state elections.
NAPOLITANO: For any election in California.
DOOCY: But it’s against the law on federal elections?
NAPOLITANO: Yes, it is. But there’s really no way to monitor it. So if you are an illegal alien in California, get a driver’s license, register to vote, you can vote in local, state, and federal elections in California and those votes count.
DOOCY: Interesting stuff.
NAPOLITANO: It’s almost impossible to monitor this if the state is going to provide shelter for illegals to vote.
DOOCY: And so that’s what is going to happen out in California.
Ben Carson must be trying to overtake Donald Trump with all these dumb statements. Carson, who bragged all week that he would have fought back and encouraged others to do the same if he was in the room when the Oregon massacre began, Ben Carson is now admitting that he punked out when a man tried to rob him at a Popeyes in Baltimore.
On an interview with Karen Hunter’s Sirius XM Radio program, Carson recalled that one time when he had the opportunity to do a Rambo on a gunman, but instead whimpered.
“I have had a gun held on me when I was in a Popeye’s organization,” Carson said.
“Guy comes in, put the gun in my ribs. I just said, ‘I believe that you want the guy behind the counter,’”
What happened to “the guy behind the counter?” We don’t know, Carson did not say. What is apparent however, Carson did not come to the guy’s rescue as he claimed he would have if he was a victim in the Oregon shooting.
Sexual frustration is nothing to play with, but calling the police because you can’t get none? Now that’s on a whole other level of WTF!
When a cop responded to his Spartanburg residence, Patrick Doggett, 53, “stated he called 911 because his girlfriend, Ms. Faye Woodruff, would not give him any ass
Woodruff told police that Doggett had been drinking all day and “didn’t know where he was at.” She added that Doggett got into bed and wanted to have sex, but “she had her grandchild with her.”
Doggett, who was outside the residence drinking an alcoholic beverage when police arrived, was arrested for public intoxication and booked into the county jail (where he remains locked up this afternoon).
The Republican Lt. Governor from Tennessee, Ron Ramsey, went on his Facebook page with a message for all his “fellow Christians who are serious about their faith.” According to Mr. Ramsey, his fellow Christians should “think about getting a handgun permit.”
Ron Ramsey was referencing the recent mass shooting in Oregon, where a crazed gunman asked students at the Umpqua Community College if they were Christians, then shot the ones who answered yes. On the post, Ramsey wrote;
While this is not the time for widespread panic, it is a time to prepare. I would encourage my fellow Christians who are serious about their faith to think about getting a handgun carry permit. I have always believed that it is better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it.
Our enemies are armed. We must do likewise.
But Ramsey didn’t stop there. He also included a link to a state government Web site that showed residents the steps in getting a gun permit.
The man stood in his own home, both hands raised, showing the screaming cop that he was no threat, but still getting tased in his living room by a cop who was apparently scared for his life!
The officer from Zephyrhills Florida, was a 10 year veteran of the police department. He insisted that the man “come outside to talk to me.” The man refused to go out, insisting that he had done nothing wrong, is not armed and raised both hands to show the cop that he had no weapons. His soft-spoken and calm demeanor apparently threatened the officer, who, screaming to the top of his lungs for the man to talk to him, pulled the trigger on his taser and dropped the homeowner to the floor.
The officer was fired last Thursday after an internal investigation.
She was sitting in the congregation when the pastor made the announcement that her husband was married to another woman.
“Your whole life, your whole life goes down the drain,” a neighbor told the news station. “It’s very sad.”
Patrick Celicourt, 49, of Apopka, Florida, is facing bigamy felony charges after his new marriage was announced in Pine Hills church while his wife of 22 years sat in the congregation.
Presented with the opportunity to work with the CEO of Starbucks to open more franchises in predominantly black neighborhoods, NBA great Shaquille O’Neal said that he declined the offer because “black people don’t drink coffee.”
Speaking to reporter Graham Bensinger, Shaq recalled his encounter with Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz.
“My agent called me up and he says ‘Howard Schultz wants to do business with you, and I’m like, ‘coffee, eh.’ Because growing up, in my household, I’d never seen a black person drink coffee. So it was my thought process that black people didn’t drink coffee.”
“I’m always a guy that, if I don’t believe in it, I can’t do it,” O’Neal said. “No amount of money can make me endorse something that I’m not 100% behind.
“I looked at the great Howard Schultz’s face and said, ‘Black people don’t drink coffee, sir. I don’t think it’s gonna work.’ And you should have seen the look on his face!”
Maybe I need to dump my cup. I never got the memo stating that I’m not supposed to drink this stuff.
His crime? I don’t know, but if I were to guess, his crime was standing in front a hotel while waiting for a ride to the U.S Open. That is when James Blake was tackled, thrown to the ground and handcuffed by a plainclothes New York Police officer.
Yes, that’s the same James Blake I’m talking about. The former professional Tennis player who had a rather impressive record during his playing days with 10 singles titles and 7 doubles titles.
The incident is now apparently a case of mistaken identity. For his troubles, Blake suffered bruises on his leg and a cut on his elbow. He was later released after police realized they had wrestled and arrested the wrong man.
