Poll Finds Almost 40% Don’t Believe Donald Was Born In The U.S. A

You can’t make this stuff up. A new USA Today/Gallop poll finds that almost 40% of Americans have doubts as to whether Donald Trump is a natural born citizen.

The poll, which questioned 1,013 adults finds that “not everyone is convinced Trump was born in the USA either: 43% say he definitely was born here, and 20% say he probably was; 7% say he definitely or probably was born in another country. Nearly three in 10 say they don’t know enough to say.” That’s 37% who cannot say with conviction that they believe Donald Trump was born in America.

Seems The Donald has some s’plainin’ to do.

President Obama To Birthers – Grow Up Already – Transcript

THE PRESIDENT:  Hello, everybody.  Now, let me just comment, first of all, on the fact that I can’t get the networks to break in on all kinds of other discussions — (laughter.)  I was just back there listening to Chuck — he was saying, it’s amazing that he’s not going to be talking about national security.  I would not have the networks breaking in if I was talking about that, Chuck, and you know it.

Q Wrong channel.  (Laughter.)

THE PRESIDENT:  As many of you have been briefed, we provided additional information today about the site of my birth. Now, this issue has been going on for two, two and a half years now.  I think it started during the campaign.  And I have to say that over the last two and a half years I have watched with bemusement, I’ve been puzzled at the degree to which this thing just kept on going.  We’ve had every official in Hawaii, Democrat and Republican, every news outlet that has investigated this, confirm that, yes, in fact, I was born in Hawaii, August 4, 1961, in Kapiolani Hospital.

We’ve posted the certification that is given by the state of Hawaii on the Internet for everybody to see.  People have provided affidavits that they, in fact, have seen this birth certificate.  And yet this thing just keeps on going.

Now, normally I would not comment on something like this, because obviously there’s a lot of stuff swirling in the press on at any given day and I’ve got other things to do.  But two weeks ago, when the Republican House had put forward a budget that will have huge consequences potentially to the country, and when I gave a speech about my budget and how I felt that we needed to invest in education and infrastructure and making sure that we had a strong safety net for our seniors even as we were closing the deficit, during that entire week the dominant news story wasn’t about these huge, monumental choices that we’re going to have to make as a nation.  It was about my birth certificate.  And that was true on most of the news outlets that were represented here.

And so I just want to make a larger point here.  We’ve got some enormous challenges out there.  There are a lot of folks out there who are still looking for work.  Everybody is still suffering under high gas prices.  We’re going to have to make a series of very difficult decisions about how we invest in our future but also get a hold of our deficit and our debt — how do we do that in a balanced way.

And this is going to generate huge and serious debates, important debates.  And there are going to be some fierce disagreements — and that’s good.  That’s how democracy is supposed to work.  And I am confident that the American people and America’s political leaders can come together in a bipartisan way and solve these problems.  We always have.

But we’re not going to be able to do it if we are distracted.  We’re not going to be able to do it if we spend time vilifying each other.  We’re not going to be able to do it if we just make stuff up and pretend that facts are not facts.  We’re not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers.

We live in a serious time right now and we have the potential to deal with the issues that we confront in a way that will make our kids and our grandkids and our great grandkids proud.  And I have every confidence that America in the 21st century is going to be able to come out on top just like we always have.  But we’re going to have to get serious to do it.

I know that there’s going to be a segment of people for which, no matter what we put out, this issue will not be put to rest.  But I’m speaking to the vast majority of the American people, as well as to the press.  We do not have time for this kind of silliness.  We’ve got better stuff to do.  I’ve got better stuff to do.  We’ve got big problems to solve.  And I’m confident we can solve them, but we’re going to have to focus on them — not on this.

Thanks very much, everybody.

Birtherism Continues Even After Official Document Is Released

World Net Daily, the conservative website that contributed heavily to spreading the birther conspiracy, found no consolation in President Obama releasing his official long form certificate today. The site continued without missing a beat, insisting now, that there must be some unexplained reason why the president waited all this time to release the document. This in, according to its website;

If the document proves valid, it could answer the questions raised by those who have alleged he was not actually born in Hawaii. But it also could prove his ineligibility because of its references to his father. Some of the cases challenging Obama have explained that he was a dual citizen through his father at his birth, and they contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born citizens

What else is a conservative website to do? The main issue they wrote about for almost three years just got blown out of the water and they’re left with nothing but made up junk and a credibility problem. So in an effort to explain to their readers that there is still something to be concerned about where this president is concerned, the editor of the website, Joseph Farah, felt the need to make this statement;

“We’re gratified that our work has begun to pay off,” he said. “The certificate of live birth is an absolutely vital foundation for determining constitutional eligibility of any president. We look forward to reviewing it like so many other Americans do at this late date. But it is important to remember there are still dozens of other questions concerning this question of eligibility that need to be resolved to assure what has become a very skeptical public concerning Barack Obama’s parentage, his adoption, his citizenship status throughout his life and why he continues to cultivate a culture of secrecy around his life.”

No matter what he does, it will never be enough to satisfy these… people!

Obama Issues Official Long Form Birth Certificate

It’s official…again.

Two years after President Obama first released the official birth certificate approved by the state of Hawaii, Donald Trump and his Birthers forced the non-issue of his citizenship. Today, President Obama has released the version of his birth certificate the Birthers wanted: The official Long Form Certificate Of Live Birth

But as the president said in his press conference, nothing he does will ever satisfy a small segment of Americans who, for whatever reason, will not accept the fact that he is a legitimate American president, born within these shores, but of a different skin color.

Now that their birther conspiracy has been officially laid to rest, Donald Trump is already working on another. He is now beginning to question how in the world could a black man get into one of the most prestigious colleges in the United States? I wonder what they will call this conspiracy? Affirmative Action is already taken.

Jan Brewer Officially Falls Off The Birther Bandwagon

Jan Brewer appeared on CNN this week to discuss her veto of the latest attempt by the Birthers movement to stop President Obama’s re-election campaign. The bill, if it was signed into law in Arizona would have required all elected officials to give proof of citizenship before their name would be allowed on the Arizona ballot. The proof, according to the legislation, would possibly include the candidate’s circumcision records, and was a direct shot at the Birthers claim that President Obama was not born in the United States.

“Well, you know, it seems to me that we have talked about this issue now going on probably two years, and that I believe that most people have reached out and they did their investigations, and it’s become such a huge distraction,” said Brewer. “I for one, I believe that what I have seen, and after speaking with governor — or the prior governor of Hawaii — that indeed he [Obama] was born in Hawaii.” She continued;

“It’s just something that I think is leading our country down a path of destruction, and it just is not serving any good purpose.

“It was a bridge way too far to give one person in the state of Arizona — a partisan person at that — the ability to keep a person off the ballot. And it wasn’t just the President of the United States — it was all the way down the path of allelected officials.

“So, it was something that I felt very uncomfortable with signing, having been a prior Secretary of State. And I think we just really need to move on. Everybody’s had two years to prove, if they wanted to, that he was not born in Hawaii. They haven’t come up with any of that kind of proof.

“So, it just seems to me that it’s more political rhetoric, and that it takes the ball off the kinds of subjects that we all ought to be discussing, and that would be jobs and the economy.”

This cannot be the same Jan Brewer who recently signed the racial profiling law in her state. It simply cannot be!
