John Leguizamo made sure to mention that he is all for freedom of speech, but “celebrating” the things that Donald Trump has said by giving him a microphone on SNL was too much for the actor.
In an interview with Yahoo News, John said, “I find it hurtful and insulting, and you’re celebrating someone who has said some horrible things. I find it unacceptable. I will not watch … I won’t watch ‘SNL’ anymore.”
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said Sunday that he thought Larry David, who impersonated him on “Saturday Night Live” Oct. 17, did better than he does.
David appeared on NBC’s late night comedy show and performed in a sketch that mocked the Democratic debate.
Sanders commented on the performance Sunday at the end of his appearance on ABC’s “This Week.”
“I think we’ll use Larry on our next rally,” Sanders said. “He does better than I do.”
Larry David was classic as Bernie Sanders. I couldn’t ask for anyone better. I pretty sure there is no one better. The hand movements, the mannerisms, the voice, Larry David had it. And being the man behind Seinfeld’s success, David followed that same Seinfeld method and talked about things that made no sense whatsoever, like when he explained why he should be president.
“Who do you want as president? One of these Washington insiders or a guy who has one pair of clean underwear that he dries on a radiator?”
Donald Trump recently made his appearance and now it’s Hillary Clinton’s turn on Saturday Night Live! And a pretty good bartender she played, although she spent too much time staring at the cue cards. Oh, and she’s not a good singer… just saying! Obama could teach her a few notes.
After experiencing a near death accident in which one of his friends was killed, Tracy Morgan is continuing the road back with an appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 17th.
Morgan’s limo was struck by a Walmart truck on the New Jersey Turnpike on June 7, 2014, killing comedian James McNair and critically injuring Morgan and three others. In early June, Morgan appeared on TV for the first time since the accident, telling the Today Show that he doesn’t remember the actual crash.
“When I got home, it really hit me,” he said. “Every day I would just watch the accident on YouTube. One day I saw [McNair’s] funeral on YouTube, and I lost it for about a week.”
Morgan, who suffered extensive physical and neurological injuries from the crash, sued Walmart and received an undisclosed settlement in May. The truck’s driver—who hadn’t slept in 28 hours at the time of the accident—faces charges of death by auto.
This was a very simple task for Saturday Night Live – a parody of Fox’s Fox and Friends. Why was it a simple task you asked? Because Fox and Friends itself is a parody and anyone wishing to make a joke out of the Fox show already had most of the material written. They just had to come up with the actors.
In this skit, the Fox and Friends characters were really actors from Saturday Night Live, unlike the real actors playing the role on Fox. Get it? Watch as the actors talk about Obamacare, President Obama and their interview Neil deGrasse Tyson.
I bet you can’t tell the difference between the real Fox and Friends actors and the pretend actors of SNL.
It took an appearance by Scandal’s Kerry Washington for Saturday Night Live to finally realize that they need, not want, need a black female cast member. When Washington hosted the show back in November, she was forced – well, maybe not forced – to play various black roles in the same skit. Her appearance highlighted the void in the popular television show.
Enter Sasheer Zamata, a comedian from Brooklyn New York. According to SNL’s producer, Zamata will make her appearance on January 18th, when the show airs its first broadcast for 2014.
Get yourself acquainted with the new addition. The video reel below shows some of Zamata’s acting skills,as she played the roles of Michelle Obama, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and more!
“A lot of folks have been talking about our new healthcare enrollment website, how it’s been crashing and freezing, shutting down and stalling and not working, breaking and sucking.”
She then provided a “number of helpful tips for solving these problems.” “For example,” she said, “Have you tried restarting your computer? Sometimes it helps to turn the computer ‘off,’ then turn it back ‘on.’”
“If our website isn’t loading properly, it’s probably just overloaded with traffic,” she said. “Millions of Americans are visiting Healthcare.gov, which is great news. Unfortunately, it was only designed to handle six users at a time.”
“If you’re in a rush, try using our ‘low-res’ website, with bigger fonts and simpler graphics.” She pulled up a Web 1.0 page titled “U WANT DOCTOR?” which featured giant “YES” and “NO” buttons with crudely rendered flames shooting out of them.
“If the regular site isn’t working,” she continued, “try signing up in a different language, like Icelandic. If our site keeps freezing, we’ve also provided links to helpful websites like Kayak.com, where you can buy airline tickets to Canada and buy cheaper prescription drugs.”
Maybe the most reasoned voice in Congress these days is that of Chaplin Barry Black. The Chaplin has opened all the floor sessions with a prayer, mostly geared towards the dumb path Congress has laid out for this country with the Government Shutdown and the unbelievable eventual outcome of America defaulting on paying its bills.
“Save us from the madness,” the Chaplin was heard praying in one of his sessions. “We acknowledge our transgressions, our shortcomings, our smugness, our selfishness and our pride,” he went on. “Deliver us from the hypocrisy of attempting to sound reasonable while being unreasonable.”
Well leave it up to Saturday Night Live to bring some humor in this very serious time. Just hours before America defaults for the first time in our history, SNL extends the role of the Chaplin Barry Black.
Leave it up to Saturday Night Live to come up with this idea. Remixing a Miley Cyrus song and turning it into a song about the biggest political event in our nation today – The Republican Government Shutdown.
The stars of the parody music video below are the usual culprits – Republican House Leader John Boehner and Republican Minnesota House Rep. Michele Bachmann, singing about how they shut down the government.
Well, that’s the info we took from the various outtakes in this promo/announcement video. We could be wrong, but it seems that this was the message Justin and Kenan Thompson were trying to convey. This upcoming appearance will make Timberlake’s fifth time hosting the show.
Watch the funny outtakes below. But then again, this is Saturday Night Live. We’re sure these are not really outtakes. They’re…
