Donald Trump Challenges Vladimir Putin in Nuclear Arms Race

The Nuclear arms race with Russia begins again, thanks to Donald Trump and his childish tweets.

Donald Trump called for an expansion of the United States’ nuclear capabilities on Thursday, in a tweet that alarmed nonproliferation experts who said that a boost to the U.S. arsenal could fuel global tensions.

In his Twitter post, Trump said, “The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes,” but gave no further details.

It was not clear what prompted his comment. However, earlier on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia needed to “strengthen the military potential of strategic nuclear forces.”

Asked about the tweet, Trump spokesman Jason Miller later said Trump was “referring to the threat of nuclear proliferation and the critical need to prevent it – particularly to and among terrorist organizations and unstable and rogue regimes.”

Another Try at Jeopardizing Iran Deal – Ted Cruz Says Deal Could Lead to Terrorism

So, yesterday a bunch of Republicans decided to do whatever they could to torpedo active nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran. You see, the United States is trying to stop Iran from producing a nuclear weapon and so far, the negotiations are succeeding. But that success is something the Republicans can’t stand and they are going above and beyond to make sure those negations fail.

Today, it’s Ted Cruz’s turn to try and scare Iran into leaving the negotiation table. He appeared before a presidential forum sponsored by the International Association of Firefighters, and said this:

“If we do not see real leadership in Washington to stand up and defend this country , to acknowledge radical Islamic terror for what it is, and to defeat ISIS and stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, we are risking yet another horrible tragedy here at home that could well entail the men and women in this room once again running into a scene of heartbreaking devastation that could have and should have, been prevented.”

After mentioning the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979, he reminded the room of “the costs, the ravages of radical Islamic terrorism, whether it’s the Boston bombing,” the Fort Hood shooting or “the horror of 9/11.”
“I believe a deal right now this administration is negotiating will only accelerate Iran’s acquiring of a nuclear weapon,” Cruz said.

George Will: Should We Trust Sarah Palin With Nuclear Weapons?

George Will, a conservative who occasionally sees through the Sarah Palin hype, asked a pivotal question on Sunday. Do you really want Sarah Palin in charge of nuclear weapons?

Will was responding to a question posted by Christiane Amanpour, host of ABC’s This Week with Christiane Amanpour. With Sarah Palin kicking off a bus tour this week, the media has been transfixed on the question, trying to figure out if this tour means the quitter from Alaska is planning to run for President in 2012.

Amanpour’s question to Will, and the question the rest of the media is trying to answer? “George, what is up. Is Sarah Palin going to run?”

“The threshold question, not usually asked, but it’s in everyone’s mind in a presidential election. ‘Should we give this person nuclear weapons?’ And the answer [in Palin’s case], answers itself.”

I agree with you George. I wouldn’t even trust Sarah Palin with the English language!

However,  based on the way Fox News has handled their other employees who aspire to be presidential candidates by terminating these employee’s contracts, I’ll say that it is a safe bet that Sarah Palin is not going to run, as she is still actively and gainfully employed at the so-called ‘news agency!”

So until Sarah gives up her hefty paycheck at FOX, consider this “bus tour” another way for Sarah to re-capture the limelight and the media attention she so desperately craves.
