George Will: Should We Trust Sarah Palin With Nuclear Weapons?

George Will, a conservative who occasionally sees through the Sarah Palin hype, asked a pivotal question on Sunday. Do you really want Sarah Palin in charge of nuclear weapons?

Will was responding to a question posted by Christiane Amanpour, host of ABC’s This Week with Christiane Amanpour. With Sarah Palin kicking off a bus tour this week, the media has been transfixed on the question, trying to figure out if this tour means the quitter from Alaska is planning to run for President in 2012.

Amanpour’s question to Will, and the question the rest of the media is trying to answer? “George, what is up. Is Sarah Palin going to run?”

“The threshold question, not usually asked, but it’s in everyone’s mind in a presidential election. ‘Should we give this person nuclear weapons?’ And the answer [in Palin’s case], answers itself.”

I agree with you George. I wouldn’t even trust Sarah Palin with the English language!

However,  based on the way Fox News has handled their other employees who aspire to be presidential candidates by terminating these employee’s contracts, I’ll say that it is a safe bet that Sarah Palin is not going to run, as she is still actively and gainfully employed at the so-called ‘news agency!”

So until Sarah gives up her hefty paycheck at FOX, consider this “bus tour” another way for Sarah to re-capture the limelight and the media attention she so desperately craves.

Reverend Graham Buys Into The Birther Lie On Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, a day when Christians from all denominations come together to celebrate the day Jesus rose from the dead, Reverend Franklin Graham was on television continuing to foster a lie that has been debunked by numerous reputable news organizations – and that is that President Obama has somehow deceived the American people by not supplying his birth certificate.

“He can solve this whole birth certificate issue pretty quickly. I was born in a hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. And I know that my records are there, you can probably go and find out what room my mother was in when I was born. I don’t know why he can’t produce that. It’s an issue it looks like he can answer pretty quickly.”

But what would we expect on our Easter Sunday? Graham is a Republican who praise the likes of “The Donald” and claims that “the more you listen to him, the more you say to yourself, ‘you know maybe the guy’s right’, and Sarah Palin, his recent travel partner to Haiti is too.

What’s shocking is the silence of the host, Christiane Amanpour. Amanpour, the host of ABC’s This Week with Christiane Amanpour has gained the reputation of a reporter who reports the facts. Why she allowed this baseless accusation to go unchallenged on her show is questionable.

Billionaire Warren Buffett says “I Should Be Paying More Taxes”

Billionaire Warren Buffett’s message to Republicans and President Obama – “I think that people at the high end — people like myself — should be paying a lot more in taxes. We have it better than we’ve ever had it.”

Mr. Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway appeared on ABC’s This Week with host Christiane Amanpour and spoke about the Bush Tax Cuts and the Republicans claim that the rich need tax cuts to provide jobs for the middle class.

Mrs. Amanpour stated the republican claim that, “you have to keep those tax cuts, even on the very wealthy, because that is what energizes business and capitalism,” but the billionaire CEO shut down that Republican talking point with some first-hand knowledge, saying;

The rich are always going to say that, you know, just give us more money and we’ll go out and spend more and then it will all trickle down to the rest of you. But that has not worked the last 10 years, and I hope the American public is catching on.

The American people are catching on but so far, no luck with the Republican in Congress. These Congressional Republicans – who are themselves millionaires and make up about 44 percent of Congress – are still demanding that rich folks like Warren Buffett get more tax-cuts for “job creation.” And these Congressional millionaires will not compromise on this position.
