Appearing on Fox News on Sunday, Rudy Giuliani did what he does best, divide people with his dumb, ignorant rhetoric.
Giuliani was brought on Fox to talk about the recent unfortunate shooting of two police officers in Brooklyn New York on Saturday, when he chose instead to cast blame on the president of the United States for apparently inciting Americans to protest the killings of black men like Eric Garner and Mike Brown.
Giuliani, for what it’s worth, disagreed with the police union’s mouthpiece, who claimed that New York’s mayor has “blood on his hands.” Giuliani instead offered this;
“I think it goes to far to blame the mayor for the murder or to ask for the mayor’s resignation,” Giuliani said.
He continued: “We’ve had four months of propaganda starting with the president that everybody should hate the police,” Giuliani said. “The protests are being embraced, the protests are being encouraged. The protests, even the ones that don’t lead to violence, a lot of them lead to violence, all lead to a conclusion. The police are bad, the police are racist. That is completely wrong.”
Giuliani added that leaders like Obama and Al Sharpton “have created an atmosphere of severe, strong, anti-police hatred in certain communities.”
You got that? When police shoot or kill unarmed men, no one should have anything to say about that. Don’t voice your opinion, don’t exercise your constitutional right to protest because if you do, then you “hate the police.”
Like I couldn’t understand the murders of Mike Brown or Eric Garner or any other person killed by the people who were supposed to protect and serve them, I also cannot understand why anyone would kill a police officer or worse, two police officers who were doing nothing but sitting in their patrol car.
My confusion once again manifested itself after hearing about a gunman who walked up to two police officers sitting in their car in the BedSty section of Brooklyn New York, and murdered those officers in broad daylight before running off and taking his own life in a nearby subway station.
We are supposed to be better than this!
The shooting took place in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. Both officers were rushed to Woodhull hospital, where one was pronounced dead, police said. The second officer was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to a senior city official and a law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the shooting. They were not authorized to speak publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
Authorities say the suspect fatally shot himself inside the station. His motive wasn’t immediately clear.
In a shocking turn of events – well not really shocking, we all had a hunch what was going to happen in Ferguson – Bob McCulloch, the St. Louis County Prosecutor who “investigated” the murder of Ferguson resident Mike Brown, is now admitting that he knowingly allowed false witnesses to testify before the grand jury. You will remember that the grand jury decided not to indict officer Darren Wilson after he pumped 6 bullets into a fleeing Mike Brown.
Bob McCulloch’s interview came on Friday after a much publicized story that revealed a grand jury witness – known as ‘Witness 40′ – was not even in Ferguson when Mike Brown was killed, but she was allowed by McCulloch to testify about events she never witnessed.
Asked in the interview about witness 40, Bob McCulloch answered that he knew the witness was lying, but allowed her to mislead the grand jury because he promised to bring anyone who claimed they saw the shooting before the grand jury.
“Early on I decided that anyone who claimed to have witnessed anything would be presented to the grand jury,” said McCulloch. “Clearly some were not telling the truth.”
McConnell said that he knew the woman wasn’t telling the truth because she “clearly wasn’t present. She recounted a story right out of the newspaper” that backed up Wilson’s version of events, he said.
But did McConnell relay this very important piece of information to the members if the Grand Jury? No, he didn’t. The grand jury deliberated, using Witness 40’s testimony as “evidence” and came to the decision that Officer Wilson did nothing wrong.
McCulloch also said he had no regrets.
Bob McCulloch is the head law enforcer in St. Louis’ County in Missouri. He is responsible for… law enforcement. Why would he choose not to enforce the law? Why would he willfully allow false eye witnesses to lie under oath? Why would he willfully allow the legal process to be mocked? Because Bob McCulloch has an agenda, and that is to protect police officers of his state regardless of their crimes. These are the same officers he work with on a daily basis to bring cases against the people he serve. And his agenda is also to revenge the death of his father, who was also a police officer killed in the line of duty by a black man.
And for what it’s worth, Bob McCulloch also said that he would not be pressing charges against those who lied under oath and committed perjury. Perjury as you all know, is the criminal offense of making a false statement after being sworn to tell the truth in a legal setting. Those who committed this offense will not face any legal consequences, according to the top law enforcer in St. Louis County, Missouri!
Apparently, enforcing the law does not fit McCulloch’s agenda.
I was getting worried there. The silence coming from the Hillary camp in regards to the nationwide protects going on these days, was deafening. But on Tuesday, Speaking to an audience after receiving an award from The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights in New York, Hillary declared, “yes, black lives matter.”
She wondered what Robert Kennedy would say about “the thousands of Americans marching in our streets demanding justice for all,” and “the mothers who’ve lost their sons.”
“What would he say to all those who have lost trust in our government and our other institutions, who shudder at images of excessive force, who read reports about torture done in the name of our country, who see too many representatives in Washington quick to protect a big bank from regulation but slow to take action to help working families facing ever greater pressure,” Clinton said, pivoting to the release of a Senate report last week investigating the CIA’s interrogation techniques after 9/11.
Clinton said that recent world events, including the mass murder of children in Pakistan and the siege in Sydney, Australia, “should steel our resolve and underscore that our values are what set us apart from our adversaries.”
During the grand jury proceedings she was called “Witness 40.” But thanks to investigative work by TSG, we now have a name for the woman known as “Witness 40.” Her name is Sandra McElroy and since her identity was revealed, McElroy has admitted that she was in fact, “Witness 40” in the grand Jury proceedings.
In an extensive post highlighted on The Smoking Guns, Sandra McElroy or “Witness 40” is a known racist who posted various racist comments on social media sites. Sandra has since deleted her Facebook and other sites, and has advised her children to do the same.
The circumstances surrounding Sandra’s story are extremely sketchy and varies depending on who her audience is. Before officer Wilson told his version of the events surrounding the killing of Mike Brown on August 9th, Sandra’s knowledge of what happened seemed limited and regulated only to social media.
On August 15th, she “liked’ a Facebook comment reporting that Johnson [Mike Brown’s friend] had admitted that he and Brown stole cigars before the confrontation with Wilson.
On August 17, a Facebook commenter wrote that Johnson and others should be arrested for inciting riots and giving false statements to police in connection with their claims that Brown had his hands up when shot by Wilson. “The report and autopsy are in so YES they were false,” McElroy wrote of the “hands-up” claims. This appears to be an odd comment from someone who claims to have been present during the shooting. In response to the posting of a news report about a rally in support of Wilson, McElroy wrote on August 17, “Prayers, support God Bless Officer Wilson.”
McElroy waited four weeks after the shooting to contact cops. By the time she gave St. Louis police a statement on September 11, a general outline of Wilson’s version of the shooting had already appeared in the press. McElroy’s account of the confrontation dovetailed with Wilson’s reported recollection of the incident.
After meeting with St. Louis police, McElroy continued monitoring the case and posting online. Commenting on a September 12 Riverfront Times story reporting that Ferguson city officials had yet to meet with Brown’s family, McElroy wrote, “But haven’t you heard the news, There great great great grandpa may or may not have been owned by one of our great great great grandpas 200 yrs ago. (Sarcasm).” On September 13, McElroy went on a pro-Wilson Facebook page and posted a graphic that included a photo of Brown lying dead in the street. A type overlay read, “Michael Brown already received justice. So please, stop asking for it.” The following week McElroy responded to a Facebook post about the criminal record of Wilson’s late mother. “As a teenager Mike Brown strong armed a store used drugs hit a police officer and received Justis,” she stated.
On October 22, McElroy went to the FBI field office in St. Louis and was interviewed by an agent and two Department of Justice prosecutors. The day before that taped meeting, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch published a lengthy story detailing exactly what Wilson told police investigators about the Ferguson shooting.
McElroy provided the federal investigators with an account that neatly tracked with Wilson’s version of the fatal confrontation. She claimed to have seen Brown and Johnson walking in the street before Wilson encountered them while seated in his patrol car. She said that the duo shoved the cruiser’s door closed as Wilson sought to exit the vehicle, then watched as Brown leaned into the car and began raining punches on the cop. McElroy claimed that she heard gunfire from inside the car, which prompted Brown and Johnson to speed off. As Brown ran, McElroy said, he pulled up his sagging pants, from which “his rear end was hanging out.”
But instead of continuing to flee, Brown stopped and turned around to face Wilson, McElroy said. The unarmed teenager, she recalled, gave Wilson a “What are you going to do about it look,” and then “bent down in a football position…and began to charge at the officer.” Brown, she added, “looked like he was on something.” As Brown rushed Wilson, McElroy said, the cop began firing. The “grunting” teenager, McElroy recalled, was hit with a volley of shots, the last of which drove Brown “face first” into the roadway.
McElroy’s tale was met with skepticism by the investigators, who reminded her that it was a crime to lie to federal agents. When questioned about inconsistencies in her story, McElroy was resolute about her vivid, blow-by-blow description of the deadly Brown-Wilson confrontation. “I know what I seen,” she said. “I know you don’t believe me.”
When asked what she was doing in Ferguson–which is about 30 miles north of her home–McElroy explained that she was planning to “pop in” on a former high school classmate she had not seen in 26 years. Saddled with an incorrect address and no cell phone, McElroy claimed that she pulled over to smoke a cigarette and seek directions from a black man standing under a tree. In short order, the violent confrontation between Brown and Wilson purportedly played out in front of McElroy.
Despite an abundance of red flags, state prosecutors put McElroy in front of the Ferguson grand jury the day after her meeting with the federal officials. After the 12-member panel listened to a tape of her interview conducted at the FBI office, McElroy appeared and, under oath, regaled the jurors with her eyewitness claims.
He used his constitutionally protected First Amendment right to speak his mind on the violence exhibited against blacks and other minorities by police, with his choice to wear a t-shirt calling for justice for Tamir. For this, Andrew Hawkins, the wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, was slammed by the police union in Cleveland who called Andrew’s decision to wear the t-shirt “pretty pathetic.”
Well Andrew felt the need to express his feelings a little more that the t-shirt would allow, and on Monday, he called the press together and released this statement.
“I was taught that justice is a right that every American should have. Also justice should be the goal of every American. I think that’s what makes this country. To me, justice means the innocent should be found innocent. It means that those who do wrong should get their due punishment. Ultimately, it means fair treatment. So a call for justice shouldn’t offend or disrespect anybody. A call for justice shouldn’t warrant an apology.
“To clarify, I utterly respect and appreciate every police officer that protects and serves all of us with honesty, integrity and the right way. And I don’t think those kind of officers should be offended by what I did. My mom taught me my entire life to respect law enforcement. I have family, close friends that are incredible police officers and I tell them all the time how they are much braver than me for it. So my wearing a T-shirt wasn’t a stance against every police officer or every police department. My wearing the T-shirt was a stance against wrong individuals doing the wrong thing for the wrong reasons to innocent people.
“Unfortunately, my mom also taught me just as there are good police officers, there are some not-so-good police officers that would assume the worst of me without knowing anything about me for reasons I can’t control. She taught me to be careful and be on the lookout for those not-so-good police officers because they could potentially do me harm and most times without consequences. Those are the police officers that should be offended.
“Being a police officer takes bravery. And I understand that they’re put in difficult positions and have to make those snap decisions. As a football player, I know a little bit about snap decisions, obviously on an extremely lesser and non-comparative scale, because when a police officer makes a snap decision, it’s literally a matter of life and death. That’s hard a situation to be in. But if the wrong decision is made, based on pre-conceived notions or the wrong motives, I believe there should be consequence. Because without consequence, naturally the magnitude of the snap decisions is lessened, whether consciously or unconsciously.
“I’m not an activist, in any way, shape or form. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred I keep my opinions to myself on most matters. I worked extremely hard to build and keep my reputation especially here in Ohio, and by most accounts I’ve done a solid job of decently building a good name. Before I made the decision to wear the T-shirt, I understood I was putting that reputation in jeopardy to some of those people who wouldn’t necessarily agree with my perspective. I understood there was going to be backlash, and that scared me, honestly. But deep down I felt like it was the right thing to do. If I was to run away from what I felt in my soul was the right thing to do, that would make me a coward, and I can’t live with that. God wouldn’t be able to put me where I am today, as far as I’ve come in life, if I was a coward.
“As you well know, and it’s well documented, I have a 2-year-old little boy. The same 2-year-old little boy that everyone said was cute when I jokingly threw him out of the house earlier this year. That little boy is my entire world. And the No. 1 reason for me wearing the T-shirt was the thought of what happened to Tamir Rice happening to my little Austin scares the living hell out of me. And my heart was broken for the parents of Tamir and John Crawford knowing they had to live that nightmare of a reality.
“So, like I said, I made the conscious decision to wear the T-shirt. I felt like my heart was in the right place. I’m at peace with it and those that disagree with me, this is America, everyone has the right to their first amendment rights. Those who support me, I appreciate your support. But at the same time, support the causes and the people and the injustices that you feel strongly about. Stand up for them. Speak up for them. No matter what it is because that’s what America’s about and that’s what this country was founded on.”
It’s the argument of racists, or ignorant people who refuse to acknowledge the fact that blacks and other minorities suffer considerably more profiling and sometimes death from some police officers. And that argument, that blacks kill blacks was on full display last night on Fox’s O’Reilly Factor.
Bill O’Reilly was interviewing Russell Simmons and the two were “discussing” the recent Eric Garner and Mike Brown grand jury decisions, when O’Reilly chimed in his ignorant talking point: “You are not acknowledging, astronomical crime rate among black men,” as if the fact that blacks die at the hand of other blacks, mean police brutality against the rest of the community is okay. Simmons came back with the argument that war on drugs program has also been detrimental to the black and minority communities.
But Reilly wasn’t hearing none of it, and the discussion quickly sunk to levels more familiar to Fox News and the O’Reilly Factor. “You have not been there condemning the black drug gangs for gunning down 13- and 14-year-old kids,” O’Reilly shot back at Russell, still trying to justify police brutality because “blacks kill blacks.” After the show reached the doldrums O’Reilly wanted, he told his guest, “You are so desperately wrong it pains me to talk to you.” Simmons shot back, “I feel the same way about you.”
Another step in trying to find some form of justice for Mike Brown came today in the release of an autopsy report conducted by the Justice Department, and the findings of a homicide in Brown’s killing.
A federal autopsy of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen whose fatal shooting by a white police officer set off nationwide protests, found he died from multiple gunshot wounds and described his death as a “homicide.”
The findings of the Justice Department post-mortem released on Monday echoed those of two previous autopsies carried out by St. Louis County’s medical examiner and a private examiner hired by the Brown family. It found that Brown — who was shot in Ferguson, Missouri, on Aug. 9 — suffered “severe injuries of the skull, brain and right chest” and appeared to have been shot in the hand at close range. “The manner of death is homicide,” the Justice Department’s medical examiner ruled.
But of course, the owner is now saying that he didn’t mean any harm by offering the “Mike Brown Shots!”
Local TV station WDAF reported that Mug Shots, a bar in St. Joseph, Mo. whose motto is “where sarcasm is always free,” advertised a “Michael Brown” special of six shots for $10. Local residents protested at the bar after a photo of the advertisement circulated on social media, according to the report.
“It’s not meant to cause any harm,” the owner told WDAF on Saturday. “I should have thought a little bit more about it before I made it a shot special.”
WDAF did not identify the owner because he wished to remain anonymous to protect himself and his family. He added that he stole the idea from other bars in the area that referenced Brown, who was fatally shot by a police officer in Ferguson, Mo. back in August, and got a “good response” from it.
The apparently very self-aware owner offered a new deal, “The Owner of Mug Shots is an ***hole shot special,” on Saturday in an attempt to appease protesters who were unhappy with the reference to Brown.
On her Facebook post, Mary Kate Blankenburg, the Counselor at the Central Bucks West High School in Pennsylvania, threatened to kill all the protesters who were protesting the death of Eric Garner. Blankenburg wrote to “personally shoot every one of them!”
Her Facebook post has since been deleted, but of course screenshots of it was captured before the deletion occurred. Blankenburg wrote, “If my child cannot get to the Eagles game due to protesters, I will personally SHOOT every one of them. You’ve been warned idiots!!”
Blankenburg has since been suspended and an investigation is on the way. Central Bucks School District Superintendent David Weitzel in a statement said;
“We will take appropriate action once we learn all of the facts. I also notified the District Attorney’s Office on Sunday and we are working with them as they investigate this incident,” he said.
“The content of the post does not in any way reflect the beliefs or values of the Central Bucks School District.”
At a news conference in Cleveland today, Samaria Rice, mother of the slain 12 year old boy shot to death by police a couple of weeks ago, called for justice for her son and revealed that her daughter was also handcuffed by police after they killed her son Tamir.
Rice said that when she got to the park where her son was shot, she found her 14-year-old daughter, who was also at the park that afternoon playing, handcuffed in the back of a police car. When Rice later reunited with her daughter, the young girl said police officers tackled and handcuffed her once she saw her younger brother lying on the ground, bleeding.
When Samaria arrived and saw her youngest child shot and her daughter in the back of a police car, police officers warned her that if she didn’t calm down, she’d be placed in the police vehicle as well.
The family’s attorney, Benjamin Crump, argued that if there is enough probable cause, “we don’t need to have another grand jury.”
A classic case of the blame the victim mentality. We will be foolish to expect anything more from Fox News.
In light of all the protests going on these days with people speaking out against police brutality throughout this country, Fox has decided to take a different look at the reason minority communities are being victimized and murdered by some police officers and according to Fox host Jeanine Pirro, minorities are to blamed.
Reading a question from a poll conducted by Fox News to her viewers on her television program, Justice with Judge Jeanine, Pirro asked the question? “Do police need to be retrained on how to be sensitive to the minority community.” Pirro said the response from Fox viewers was “overwhelmingly in favor of law enforcement,” and she also read some of those results to her audience.
Pirro quoted Fox viewer ‘Jeff’ who wrote, “Why is it always necessary to tip toe around the minority community,” with ‘Larry’ writing, “No. Enough is enough. The general public needs to be more sensitive to the police and show them the respect they deserve.”
Pirro added, “I agree.”
Viewer ‘Jordan’ disagreed, saying.”Yes. Those cops were racially profiling,” setting off a condescending Pirro who said, “Hey Jordan, you don’t even know what racial profiling is.”
