Fellas, would you rock this?
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – With debate intensifying in the United States over the use of drone aircraft, the U.S. military said on Sunday that it had removed data about air strikes carried out by unmanned planes in Afghanistan from its monthly air power summaries.
U.S. Central Command, which oversees the Afghanistan war, said in a statement the data had been removed because it was “disproportionately focused” on the use of weapons by the remotely piloted aircraft as it was published only when strikes were carried out – which happened during only 3 percent of sorties. Most missions were for reconnaissance, it said.
U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration has increasingly used drones to target against al Qaeda-linked militants overseas.
Civilian casualties from drone strikes have raised ethical concerns and angered local populations, creating tension between the United States and Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Some U.S. lawmakers have also questioned the legality of targeted killings and whether drones would allow the killing of American citizens inside the United States.
When asked at a private dinner if felt she was tough enough to take on McConnell and the grinding GOP attack machine, Judd said this,
“I have been raped twice, so I think I can handle Mitch McConnell.”
Well, I do declare! Mitch might just have met his match on who has the strongest will-of-steel. This will not be your grandmother’s Kentucky Derby, I can assure you that! Good Luck Ash! ♦
“I’m very happy,” said Kaba. “I’m fine. He’s fine.”
And you thought this stuff only happens in movies. ♦

Icelandic artist Ingvar Bjorn is attempting to beat the Guinness World Record for “the most artists working on a single art installation” by creating The Largest Artwork in the World which will include participants from people all over the social media circuits. The project is in support of UNICEF and the organization’s attempt to bring attention to the plight of many of the world’s poor children and what its doing to help them.
The project started on February 7, 2013, and will attempt to last for 66 days, a day for each year UNICEF has been operating. When the project finishes, it will be painted on a huge canvas and set up for an auction in support of UNICEF.
As a platform on Facebook, The Largest Artwork in the World can be accessed by anyone with an active Facebook user account. Log on and leave your mark.
Right now artist Ross Ashton of The Projection Studio and his Face Britain video projection, holds the Guinness world record. Over 200,000 self portraits were contributed by children all across the country to form a gigantic montage which was projected on to Buckingham Palace in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
Can you even imagine going to jail after being wrongly convicted for something you didn’t do? And then spending 13 long years locked up behind bars while life passes you by… all for something you didn’t do?
Well that is the story of David Ayers of Cleveland Ohio, who in 1999 was convicted of killing 76 year old Dorothy Brown. Brown was found in her Cleveland apartment naked from the waist down, bludgeoned to death.
After spending 13 years in jail, DNA testing done on a pubic hair found in Dorothy Brown’s mouth proved to be from someone other than Ayers. He was released in 2011.
The jury’s verdict on Friday awarded $13.2 million to David Ayers for his pain and suffering.
It’s either an itch or his message for the TMZ photographer who took this pic. And judging from TMZ’s headline for the pic – Chris Brown Stays Classy – I think it’s the latter…

This may very well be one of the most outrageous petitions on the White House’s Petition site. A Petition to name May 20th as “Macho Man Randy Savage Day.”
You heard that right! Thanks to the good folks over at Mandatory.com, a White House Petition was formed to honor and remember the death of Randy “Macho Man” Savage. The Petition reads:
Macho Man Randy Savage was a national treasure loved by everyone who watched him on television or knew him personally. No matter if you knew him from Slim Jim commercials or his wrestling career, you felt a deep connection with Savage. Tragically, the world lost him on May 20, 2011. This petition is to set aside that day every year as a celebration and remembrance of the Macho Man’s life and to keep his legacy alive for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.
At the time of this post, the petition had 2859 signatures. To get a response from the White House, the petition must get 100,000 signatures by April 4th. Just 97,141 more to go!
Savage died in Florida in May of 2011 after suffering a heart attack while driving, resulting with his car colliding with a tree. Savage was 58 years old at the time he died.
Former San Diego ACORN worker, Juan Carlos Vera will receive $100,000 in a settlement from federal criminal and professional liar James O’Keefe, after being secretly video-taped in violation of California law by the Right-wing propagandist. The tape was just one in a series of similar videos, all deceptively edited as part of his 2009 ACORN “pimp” hoax series.
The story of the settlement was originally broken by Wonkette, which published the 3-page settlement document [PDF], yesterday.
Several different official investigations, including those by the former MA Attorney General, by the Kings County, NY District Attorney, and by the CA Attorney General all determined that there were no violations of law performed by any ACORN worker seen in the surreptitiously taped videos. The officials found the tapes were “highly” and “deceptively” edited.
The videos were published originally by the late Republican con-man Andrew Breitbart who, before he died of heart failure just over one year ago, was likely to have been pulled in to the civil case as well, after O’Keefe disclosed in his deposition that Breitbart had advance knowledge of the scheme to secretly video tape workers in violation of CA’s Invasion of Privacy Act.
In his weekly address, President Obama says that businesses have created jobs every month for three years straight – nearly 6.4 million altogether, and have added 246,000 new jobs in February. We must keep this momentum going, and that’s why the President recently met with Republican leaders to discuss how we can replace the harmful, arbitrary budget cuts, called the “sequester,” with balanced deficit reduction.
