Poll Finds Americans Blame Boner… um… Boehner, For Fiscal Cliff Fiasco

President Obama is crushing John Boehner in the fiscal cliff battle—at least in the polls.

An ABC/Washington Post survey out this morning finds 49 percent of those questioned approving of Obama’s handling of the budget negotiations, compared with 42 percent who disapprove.

Now look at the House speaker’s numbers: Some 49 percent disapprove of his performance, with only 25 percent giving a thumbs up.

So Obama is winning the public relations battle over the effort to avert automatic tax hikes and spending cuts by a whopping 2-1 margin.

Even among Republicans, according to the poll, Boehner barely breaks even: 39 percent approval, 37 percent disapproval.

Separately, a Bloomberg poll says Americans believe by a 2-to-1 majority that the election results were an endorsement of Obama’s promise to protest Medicare and Social Security benefits–and nearly half the Republicans surveyed say he has a mandate to raise taxes on the wealthy.

President Obama Back To Work – Let’s Cut Taxes For 98% Of Americans

After his reelection on Tuesday, President Obama continued his push to take this country forward. He continued his call to Congress to extend the tax cuts for 98% of Americans, while allowing taxes on the rich to go back to what they were under President Bill Clinton.

Last year, I worked with Democrats and Republicans to cut a trillion dollars’ worth of spending, and I intend to work with both parties to do more. But as I said over and over again on the campaign trail, we can’t just cut our way to prosperity. If we’re serious about reducing the deficit, we have to combine spending cuts with revenue – and that means asking the wealthiest Americans to pay a little more in taxes. That’s how we did it when Bill Clinton was President. And that’s the only way we can afford to invest in education and job training and manufacturing – all the ingredients of a strong middle class and a strong economy.

Already, I’ve put forward a detailed plan that allows us to make these investments while reducing our deficit by $4 trillion over the next decade.  Now, I’m open to compromise and new ideas.  But I refuse to accept any approach that isn’t balanced. I will not ask students or seniors or middle-class families to pay down the entire deficit while people making over $250,000 aren’t asked to pay a dime more in taxes. This was a central question in the election. And on Tuesday, we found out that the majority of Americans agree with my approach – that includes Democrats, Independents, and Republicans.

New Ad – Mitt Romney Did Cut Taxes… On Millionaires Like Himself

Apparently, Mitt Romney was telling the truth all along. Yes, he definitely cut taxes when he was governor of Massachusetts, but the people who enjoyed the benefits of the Romney Tax Cuts was Romney himself and his very rich friends. For the rest of the state – also known as the middle class and the poor, Romney raised their taxes and instituted over 1000 fees – on everything from school bus rides, Nurses, Hospitals and Funeral Homes.

Well of course the fees went up. Someone had to pay for the Tax Cuts he received!
